Rubbish don’t use
Used to be a great app but now they’ve made things like handicap tracker a premium feature when 80% of our group don’t want to pay for the features.
Become to fiddly trying g to work out handicaps elsewhere just to come back for the match features so now 100% of the group don’t pay for premium and we are using a different app

Definitely best golf app
The live leaderboards for my regular get together of circa 16 players are the best part, all being able to keep track of who’s winning (and losing!). And now that we can’t use paper scorecards this is a no brainer, definitely the best scorecard layout.

Good potential but needs work
Been using for a while and there are aspects which are amazing: - friends feed and looking up their games - ability to set up games with friends for me (so I don’t have to)… and more importantly can easily open the app and view - the live scoring for multi-round games …to name a few.
A few things lacking: - I don’t understand why I can’t see a graph on my handicap over time (or if that’s a premium feature why it’s premium, it’s fairly fundamental) - ability to search through or filter past scorecards so I can see past results on a particular course without loads of scrolling. Other apps allow you to scroll through score cards and see what counts towards handicap and what doesn’t etc. A few annoying parts: - most courses I play on have signal issues… the app tends to crash when signal is lost! - no ability to turn off course photos in the feed or on scorecards logs… the pictures take up half the screen, I know what it looks like I was there! - past scorecards section should be way more condensed, it should be a list of courses and your profile scores, nice and simple, no photos taking up the screen! - far too frequent bugs and crashes, “something has gone wrong” happens all the time. The last major concern for me is that people can submit scores on your behalf without your consent! There should be a scorecard verification/approval step for all players.
I generally find the app a bit clunky and hard to use, often slow to use. Would love to justify premium at some point but at this stage I’m not sure it’s worth it. A trial would be good. It’s better than iGolf app though (IMO)! I encourage the devs to keep working on it :)

Watch not working
No matter what I do I can't get the apple watch to connect to the app on the phone. Premium subscription is active and attempting to connect to watch via de iced just gives a blank screen and doesn't connect to watch.

Won’t let me change settings
The app itself is fine, it is great for joining in with games and it shows the course setup perfectly. The main issue is I can’t change my profile settings. I’m stuck with distances in metres, the app won’t allow me to press done when I’m finished changing to yards. Within the profile itself it won’t let you press done anywhere so you just have to go with what’s available.

I’ve recently bought a new Apple Watch see it’s compatible with Apple Watch but is this only for people paying for a subscription?? I have always had the free version and was hoping to get just the yardage on my watch

Could be good
Been using Vpar for a while now and I can find it frustrating to use, as far as I can see there no way to edit or delete your round very annoying. Only found a button to delete from feed but that doesn’t do anything. Quite accurate calculating handicaps, and found the SI to be accurate. Also app never connects to Iwatch so can’t use that to see yardages etc, contacted VPAR about this and awaiting a reply. Adverts annoying too and need to pay a fiver a month to become advert free. Shame because it is really good at hcap calculations and like I say only golf app that has all the SI of the holes correct that I have used, so it works out stableford points right. I need to use it on my Iwatch though so if this doesn’t work will have to delete app.
Latest update seems to connect to Iwatch but now receives a message saying you need premium to be able to see yardages on Iwatch, this wasn’t required before the update so why now?

The gps function just did not work at all. I eventually gave up trying and resorted to use the free version of BEEZER.

Ryder cup format
5 stars. (Can’t get the star rating above to activate).
A near perfect result for a complicated format mixing 9 hole comps with 18. The only problem may well have been down to user error but the main points are as follows:
1. The app is a tremendous value-add to the game’s competitive scoring and importantly the fun of its progression (live scoring seen from around the course as the match ebbs and flows).
2. The staff at VPAR could not have been more helpful and committed. In an age where humans duck out of responsibilities and/or a commitment to help, the reverse was true with these guys, who I felt joined the team immediately and made every effort to help make the format and the day work.

Doesn’t work on my Apple Watch
Platform is great. The ability to log scores and use gps to understand distance to the green is great. Just a shame that I couldn’t seem to get my Apple Watch to connect. Watch just told me to start a round on my phone which I had done but could never seem to get it to register. Using the latest iPhone and Apple watch, both up to date with the latest iOS software updates.

After 9 holes, Ad’s take over!
Went to play a round today and after 9 holes the app is unuseable. As soon as I open my score card adverts appear and they constantly appear rendering the app useless. You can no longer submit an 18 hole score card without paying for premium… sad day!

Was an early adopter of the app and me and my mates have loved this app. Sadly, and in some ways inevitably, the app was become useless without a subscription. The function to even submit a scorecard for free has gone.
I’ll be moving on as a result. Thanks for the early data and use.

There needs to be more features for societies. Create society groups with joining codes, then allow tournaments to be created etc and have leaderboards.

I’ve tried to sign up through the app, but it freezes every time
I chose either sign up via Apple or via email. It asks you for name age and handicap, then it won’t go any further. Have to crash out and try again. Tried 4 times, now I’ll try a different app. Apparently it’s fine. It isn’t- I still can’t get past entering my age and handicap. There’s no way to scroll down or press enter on my iPhone X iOS 15.4.1 and I just redownloaded VPAR today 4/5/22.

A fantastic individual & society scoring tool
A great app that I initially used to track my handicap however have since used it to score the society that I am in and all 30 members love the live scoring feature and seeing pairs & individual leaderboards!! Defiantly the easiest golf scoring app I’ve tried to use

Was brilliant, now keeps crashing!
This was a brilliant golf app. I mostly used the Course GPS for measuring distance to greens & hazards. It was so good, I deleted all other golf apps & held off buying a range finder.
However in the last month the app keeps crashing while using the GPS. Really frustrating. I’ve tried deleting & re-installing, but doesn’t resolve the problem. Please fix, as this was a great golf app!

Perfect for golf tour
Vpar premium is the perfect solution for live Scoring when away on a group holiday. We had 10 games running each day & vpar tracked our scores live so we can all keep up to date around the course. Superb app!

Great personal service
Niall provided my golf society with corporate access to a Ryder cup style team event over 3 days. It served a seamless purpose and everyone was really impressed. 22 drunk golfers easily navigated the app and were able to follow their friends matches whilst also looking at stats on an individual basis. A perfect solution for our holiday to Spain. Thank you Niall!

Great idea - but glitchy and requires work
Downloaded this app last minute for a golf society weekend - paid for the premium to run a leaderboard over two rounds but had a few issues:
1) not all players could score their own rounds (it required them to upgrade to premium - meaning 1 player had to pay to score his round)
2) not all players could join the game via the email
3) as the admin - I couldn’t share a passcode to join the game manually and relied on the automated email to link players to the game
4) Once completed, I couldn’t go back into the game as admin, which was really frustrating as some players didn’t submit their scorecards properly. Without the ability to edit - I was unable to correct the final scoreboard.
A great concept but disappointing to have these basic problems.

Great app with Five Star Customer Service
We used VPAR for a charity golf day and were blown away by the customer service we received. The app itself leant a very professional air to our tournament and increased enjoyment through the rotating individual and team leaderboards. And on the day, no question was too stupid, all handled with enthusiasm and politeness. Highly recommend.

Issues loading
Have been using VPAR for a couple years now, never had any issues, the past few updates have been horrendous, won’t load my followed golfers when trying to set up rounds, won’t load results in my feed, basic navigation to set up round and add players is more convoluted than it was.
but can’t expect too much for the free version so still gets 3 stars. Think will have to try out some alternatives

Brilliant until today
I’ve had the app for well over a year and had nothing but positive things to say... I’ve used the app to successfully track my scores and handicap - it’s the only app I use for golf and it’s always served me well.
However I have noticed a couple of glitches over the weekend: 1) if I have a new follower the app crashes when I look to see their profile, and 2) my handicap has plummeted by 12 shots from 17 down to 4.8 (!!) after a decent round of 37 points at the weekend! I have messaged customer services for help so hope it can be fixed. Otherwise 5 stars app easily!

VPAR at Dan Jones golf day.
Hi, I used VPAR for the first time in The Daniel Jones Charity Golf Day at Pontypool Golf Club last year, It was very easy to use and was easily formatted to our Shotgun start. I am very glad to hear that we will be using it again this year at Greenmeadow Golf club, it must also be very lucky as my team won the event lol.

VPAR used for Charity Golf Day
We used VPAR for the Daniel Jones Memorial Golf Day. The VPAR app was absolutely amazing! Our format of Texas Scrabble on the day everything within the app was just fantastic.
24 teams played on the day and everyone who used the app said how easy it was to use. The live leaderboard was yet another fantastic feature for our day. Scoring became easier! VPAR scoring app is outstanding, highly professional and recommended. We are definitely coming back to VPAR for this years charity event.

It’s Good But Not Great
A few key issues with this app but on the whole it’s good. Main reason for still using is some friends and family using it, but would switch of others did.
It’s a shame because I think this could be great.
1. When using the watch with the application it decides to stop working randomly and have to go back to where you think you are.
2. When completing a round after finishing the app goes strange for a few minutes and doesn’t work.
3. You can’t enter the score on your watch like you can with other apps, this is really disappointing
4. You don’t have a view of the course map on watch.
5. It can take ages for your watch to realise you started a game on the app and to catch up. Been 3 or 4 holes in before it catches up.
6. Lots of steps when setting up a round since the previous update.
Hope it helps and we can see some progress on it soon.

Excellent Customer Service
I would just like say that the customer service l received was outstanding. I asked if VPAR could setup a 3 day tour tournament with 16 golfers. Answer - No Problem! The rest of the group had not used VPAR before and got the app straight away and were very impressed by the GPS in the app of the courses we were playing, plus ever morning before breakfast the groups were setup with the revised tour handicaps and we were able to follow how everyone was doing all over the course which made for an exciting and great tour.
This is an outstanding app and would highly recommend VPAR to all my golf buddies out there, we had a lot of fun using the app.

Good for yardage, scores not accurate?
A really good app, accurate yardage both on iPhone to see yards to hazards and on watch to get yards to the green - it takes a few seconds for the yardage to calibrate but I feel it’s accurate based on my club selection.
I think there is a bug with multi player use, if I’m the main scorer and score for others in my round I’ll see a game per person in my feed with my gross score showing as one value on my feed and a different value on my playing partner feed, sometimes with 8 or 9 shot difference? When I play an individual round the score is accurate but in group play the summary scores show different values. Should be pretty simple for the developer to fix but in the meantime it’s a 3 star on that basis.

Clipboard Notifications
Hi, App is great, been using for a few years but since iOS 14 it’s posting “VPAR pasted from (my) MacbookPro” notifications every time you go into or back into or leave VPAR. Why? What do you need from my Clipboard. Very annoying. Can you stop them? Believe the latest API allows you to query the clipboard? Rather than paste it every time? Cheers

Brilliant app
Have been using this app for a few years now, and it’s great for distances and keeping score. The only app you need on the course! This weekend a group of us played an event which we scored using VPAR, and we were able to have live leaderboards across the groups which made it all the more exciting. The service from the team is great as well, reply really quickly whenever I have had to ask any question, and really go the extra mile to help you out! Super impressed overall!!

Superb app - great for multi players
We started using this app as it enabled us to set up groups and keep a live leaderboard so we can see the progress of the players in front/behind. Leaderboard is excellent, and even better if you 2 or more tee times, really adds to the team competitiveness and banter.
We recently wanted to do a 2 day event, it’s not currently possible through the app (being developed I believe) but VPAR team we’re extremely accommodating and set up the 2 day event with all the players added etc.
This was customer service of the highest order, I never expected that level of response when I enquired if it was possible.
We love this app, and the team seem really passionate about it too and want to grow it.

If you are planning a golf weekend or corporate event, this app is absolutely must have. We’ve used it for two weekend events now & it adds so much to the fun with a live leaderboard.

Very nearly perfect
I have been using a different app to VPAR and decided to try it after it was recommended des to me by my brother, the app is easy to use and provides good stats and distances, but I would like to see the ability to be able to add your scores via the Apple Watch app, as this is frustrating having to keep using the phone to input scores, the other apps I have used in the past allow this function and it would truly make the VPAR app brilliant.

The best live scoring app out there
We’ve been using VPAR for a number of years for our golf society days. It adds an extra dimension to our competitions, being able to see exactly where each player stands on the live leaderboard. It’s the best app of its kind out there. All the guys love it, and our society days wouldn’t be the same without it.

I’ve found the app very easy to use and it help a great deal when it works properly. Recently I’ve had issues using it with my Apple Watch so I’ve had to guess the yardage of my shots. Also one improvement I’d like to see I on the scoring for the hole. Currently there is no options to add a penalty shot. When you review your round it nice to see where you can improve and if you can see where you’ve had a dropped shot that could be a great help to people

Great App, Great Team
Having tried out a number of similar apps to Vpar I have to say this is by far and away the best option out there.
The free version isn’t littered with ads like some others, the design is clean, everything is nice and simple to find and the GPS is pretty much perfect. To the point I use it around my home course.
Match and round set up is super simple and as a higher handicapper getting back into golf the ability to count putts, GIR and FIR and having a running record of scores is amazing.
The only criticism of the app I’d have is not being able to flick into GPS from the scoreboard as their in different parts of the app, but that’s just pure laziness as it’s only 3 clicks away.
Myself and friends play a few tournaments every year and it’s always handy to have a live Leaderboard you can check in on as you play. The scoreboard feature didn’t have the functionality we wanted for our latest rounds, but one email to the support team and they built a custom tournament for us. They even waited on our round day one to finish to re-org the playing groups for us as they changed based on score.
I can’t speak highly enough of the team at VPar and their product. Don’t consider using anything else, this is the app you need.

Golf Trips made 100 better by VPAR
This app has made a massive difference to our trips. We enter the scores hole by hole onto the app, and a ‘live’ leaderboard can be seen. This shows the scores for the current round, and gives a cumulative score to + or -par for multiple rounds - showing who is on the ‘mix’ coming to the end of the final round.
The GPS view of the hole is also a fantastic feature, showing the whole of the hole and allows you to move the cursor to show how far hazards etc. are and how for you you have to the pin.
Overall, we wouldn’t go on a golf trip without using this app, and would recommend it to anyone!

Great app!
Our golf society use this app when we play together and in smaller groups. It’s really easy to use and we can do it all from the app without having to use a browser.
For our society days, using the live leaderboard is great. The team at VPAR are really helpful if there’s something we don’t know how to do or if we have a more complex set up - they’ve just helped us configure a Ryder cup style day with multiple rounds in different formats.

Certainly a contender, getting better and better !
So I’ve been using VPAR for over a year now and our society uses the live leaderboard tournament system too. There has recently been a needed GPS update which has vastly improved its ease of use on the course. For me there is no better to use for having a matchplay match with your mates or tracking stableford scores over a round. The system is very flexible and allows you to set up matches, share leaderboards and look at post round stats. Great App, give it a try ! 👌🏼

New update has solved my only gripe
I’ve been using VPAR for a year or so, and really liked it aside from the way it would display a hole overview - as the map couldn’t be scrolled or zoomed, many of the dogleg holes I’d play would have the crucial areas of the hole locked away off the screen. Was very pleased to see the new GPS designs in the new update - massive improvement and much more usable! Thanks to the team involved! 👍

Close but some critical bugs
This is close to being a great app. It’s easy to score and see the course layout and distances.
What let’s it down for me is a couple of bugs. The worst one causes the app to ‘fill’ the screen on my iPhone. This places the text and navigation bars under my camera so there’s no way back other than to crash out. Particularly frustrating when you’re most of the way through setting up a round. For some reason VPAR have removed the ability to set up rounds via the website which would be much easier.

Close but has had two bugs for a while
This app is really great and I've used it for a while. There are three things that stop it getting a five star and two I class as bugs or usability issues...
1) the Apple watch app very frequently decides it doesn't want to recognise the round you have open. When it does this I have not found a way to kick start it into action. Just last week I had to give up on any yardage indicator for the full round 👎
2) when you finish a round, the app seems to go into a weird mode where the scorecard just vanishes and that is the time I want to review my round the most. It also stresses me out that the round has been lost, only to find that once it’s processed everything say like an hour later, it reappears.
3) I want more customisation options for things like 9 hole rounds or skipping a hole if a friend decides that they have to bail early.
Keep it going guys but please sort 1 & 2 as they are really frustrating 🤞

Brilliant app, very slow.
I really like this app, and it's a very good way of competing against friends and tracking stats. However, there is a real issue with the app. It can be extremely slow, and I'm still waiting for my round to be added 4 hours after finishing. Not sure what the issue is (amount of people logging in on a Saturday perhaps?), but it's really affecting the effectiveness of the app.

Brilliant app and very flexible team
The app itself is ideal for any level of golfer to track scores, accurately gauge distances and seems to have all courses I’ve ever tried to play at on it.
The tournament mode when playing in multiple groups gives a live score update & seamlessly manages all handicaps - a welcome addition for any event & distinctly adds to the tension & enjoyment. Furthermore, I recently attended a 3 day amateur tournament over a weekend, which involved the team at VPAR amending the system daily to ensure we could track the 3 days as 1 consistent match with alternating pairs playing together throughout the weekend - outstanding customer service.
Can’t recommend this highly enough!

Apple Watch doesn’t work
For some reason the app works only when it decides it can be bothered in my Apple Watch. A round is started, but all my watch ever says is ‘start by creating a round on your phone’. It used to work ok. The gps was a bit unsteady, and it was difficult to accidentally not change the hole you are playing on, but I made do because it’s the app my fiends use for live group scoring. I’m going to have to change now, because the Apple Watch experience is just a let down, and I don’t want to have to go back to switching between my Apple Watch and my Garmin. A real shame.

Random scoring
I’ve used this a few times now and thought it was a good app, unfortunately though I’ve noticed that the points it inputs in stableford format are sometimes wrong and don’t correspond with my handicap! I got my friend to download this after a game and when he tried inputting his scorecard the points that were coming out were incorrect! I gave up on this in my last rnd, was hoping to get an Apple Watch and use it but not sure I’ll bother now...

Good when it works
I have used this for a few rounds now and it has worked fine. I love the app and how you can review your rounds! However when I got a friend to download the app, it would not continue past the ‘play’ page. It just had a spinning loading circle and then came up with an error message. Very disappointed, especially as I promoted it as being a good app. The developer needs to have a look into this to fix it!

Sort my course
Cracking app but having already emailed support, am a little disappointed that my course (Boughton, Kent) still has an incorrect layout. Changes were made some months ago but still shows original routing.
Glad to see the update so promptly.
Broomepark in Kent also needs the scorecard changed for some hole SI's.

No Apple Watch support
Unfortunately, no matter how good the app may be, if it does not support the Apple watch, then I cannot give it more than 3 stars. Having to carry the phone on your person, and constantly “fishing” for it to check the distance to the pin, will slow the game. Not only that, but some people frown on the use of the phone in course, this will just re-enforce that sentiment. Add support for the watch and you’ll have 5 stars (more if I could).

Best golf App out there! Bar none!
Was introduced to this by a mate in Dubai and it's brilliant. Love the Live leaderboard experience - we played in a Ryder cup style and the pressure it generated knowing where you stood in all the matches was unreal ! Found it has GPS too and stats too. Basically deleted my other golfing Apps - this seems to have it all. Seem to have ability to win golf prizes too in the challenges area - yet to win one though!

Just what I need
This is such a great app no matter your level. I'm new to golf and so the GPS and stat tracking have been invaluable to help me improve my game. Love being able to see what my mates have been up to on the course too. From what I've read of other reviews their customer support seems to be amazing if I ever need it. Well done VPAR! 🏌️
