I think this is a very good vpn service, I got access to this via an account with a password reminder and the only problem I had was figuring to log in when the app is new, it is really hard to get past the “buy me” screen on a fresh install when you already have an account Other than that, I love it!

Extremely power intensive
I now have to charge my phone every 4 hours although the capacity is 100%. HotspotShield uses 61% of the total battery usage per day, which is totally unacceptable. Add this to the fact that connecting to the German server shows that I'm somewhere in UK, and the points are reduced further.
I think I'll be saving my money soon, and turning Apple iCloud Private Relay back on so that I have a phone that isn't permanently on charge again.

Extremely Insecure
I use Dashlane premium as a password manager and as a bonus it offers free access to this app. I’ve just been on holiday and wanted to use a VPN as I didn’t trust the resort Wi-Fi. It’s easy to set up, I’ll give it that. However, if you want security this is not the app to use under any circumstance.
It just randomly disconnects. What’s worse is you’ve no idea it’s disconnected (again) unless you look very carefully. The notch on the iPhone screen does not provide enough space to tell you about VPN status. You have to pull down from the top of the screen to see you’ve lost connection (again).
I found myself frequently using Wi-Fi without realising the VPN had gone.
All in all, extremely disappointing.

Reliable connection. I signed up for lifetime coverage a while back and can just install the app and log in when I get a new device which is great. But it seems some content providers are able to detect VPNs as there have been a few times that it doesn’t seem to work.

Best VPN that just works
I have tried many VPNs to watch TV through my UK apps in other countries and failed yet this one works every single time no issues streaming I’ve recommended it to everybody I know. Everything you expect from a great VPN with zero issues. I am using the free premium and will pay monthly when I need it such as holidays or if I want to stream a show from other countries and binge watch.

Probably the best VPN app. Used this for years now. Just make sure you download latest profiles and sign in before you travel. I suspect country proxy devices know about profile setting download sites. No problems when running this after profile downloads.

I have paid for the premium account only to have to verify that I have a premium account every second week. In some cases I have to cancel and reinstate my subscription. After contacting help about this I was “helped” by someone who didn’t really know what to do. He kept saying I don’t have premium even after sending screenshots of my subscription to him. I was then told I would receive help via and email which of course never arrived. I am still left sitting here unable to use the app properly because no one really knows what’s going on at their office by the looks of things. Very frustrating I would definitely look at a competitor first.

I use this app on my phone without issues but on my laptop there are constantly problems. After every use I have to log off otherwise next time the app wouldnt start at all! I have to uninstall and install again every time now even thought I log off. It just loading forever and nothing happens

I’d just like to say this is such a good VPN as it lets me just about do anything without blockage and HotspotShield premium is highly recommended and has a super fast search engine so no need to wait long, as my workplace blocks a lot of things such as some vpns as well, this one always works so if your looking for a good, fast and private vpn, look no further as this is the one to go for.

VPN keeps disconnecting
I trust VPN for securing my privacy and online security, but having to manually reconnect the VPN ten + times a day is not on. I understand that shifting from GSM to Wifi has its tolls on VPN’s stability, but I would expect a workaround. The constant disconnections place my device at risk, which defeats the objective of VPN.
Both my iOS and Hotspot are the latest versions.
I trust there will be a fix to an otherwise great product.

Good but needs improving
This is probably one of the best vpn apps I’ve ever used, simple to set up and use. Fast too.
The only downside it during the night it likes to wake up and drain the battery. I could go to sleep and unplug my phone on 100% and wake up with a dead battery. Looking at the battery graph shows only hotspot shield waking up and killing the phone in 2 hours. After I uninstalled I woke up to 80%.
Good app but when your finished either leave the charger plugged in on temporarily uninstall it.

I swear to god I have no idea what this app has on it. I downloaded it, and there’s a big power button in your face to turn on the fastest free VPN connection. Of course there are many more options. But

Love having a VPN again however this one not constantly visible that it’s in use on screen. VPN marker shows only momentarily on screen whether Wi-fi or 4G then simply trust it is running in background. Also would like a diagnostics page to see if anything/anyone being intercepted whilst using VPN on device and how much data used too. Ace product so far 10 hours use so far (Free version).

Not great on international websites for streaming
With the new up I am on able to connect to australian tv stations, as I always had before. Though it shows my isp in Australia the major networks respond with must be in Australia to watch. I have addressed this with help desk and have had many different answers and nothing has worked. The last agent told me the stations were not supported because they are not popular enough. This is ridiculous because this is The major TV stations. It all worked before the upgrades. This problem is also with other countries but has eventually worked out. I reccomend using a different vpn if your intent is for watching tv or streaming forgien programs

This app is amazing! Using it on the. iPhone 8 and works perfectly fine. I have a question though - when I put my 4G on, it doesn’t show up with the VPN sign - I judged wanted to know. That even though it’s not there, is my VPN still connected? If the developers could answer my question I would greatly appreciate it! Apart from that, I have nothing bad to say. Best VPN out there
I’ve been using this for years and the WiFi speeds isn’t bad, I’m don’t have to buy the subscription, however, if you can’t pay and you don’t want to be limited to USA you’re screwed. Lucky for me I’m in England so it doesn’t matter where the VPN is from. It never pushes you to buy the subscription and after joining Pango, the app itself looks really good. You MUST buy this if you just need a VPN for a different country (any country).

Disgusted.
The app itself was working fantastic. I paid for the yearly membership and was very happy. But then out of the blue it took me back to basic membership and would not restore my purchase. To make matters even worse I paid for another yearly membership this time elite membership, which took another 89 pounds and it still didn’t work and then I paid for a monthly 11 pounds for premium only to find, that not only does it work but it has taken my 2 85 pound payments and also taking a monthly 11 pounds. Not sure if this is a bug but I was disgusted by this. Horrible to keep on grabbing money like this. I will further complain regarding this.

Terrible customer service
The app itself is fine, but the customer service is by far the worst I have ever had to deal with. Online chat takes at least 5 minutes for each reply, only to be told they are directing you to a specialised team. Then waiting for over a week to get a reply from them. I have had numerous issues with the company from not replying to my emails to taking money out of my account without my approval. If you do purchase a subscription, just hope you never run into any issues because they will never be resolved.

Simple and works
Honestly for a free app that’s a working VPN you get more than what you pay for! Easy to use and connects pretty quickly, the free version is limited locations but so far just using the free USA location it’s done everything Iv wanted.
Iv had no problems bypassing my WiFi’s ISP, phones ISP and free hotspots restrictions to view websites and stream basic video. It also checks out with several websites reporting my location and IP as something different from mine.
All that being said you wouldn’t want to download large and many files for too long before you’d eventually get bored of the speed but it’s free!!! Come on!?

Problems all the time
I have used this app for quite a few years. Now I think it is time I moved on. So disappointed now with this app. I have never had a problem until recently. I lived in France for over ten years and never had a problem. I now live in the uk for work. When I went on holiday to Spain I couldn’t access various sites. Got in touch with support. You need to this that and the other to get it to work. As I said I could move between countries previously no bother and not have to faff around. I am now back in France for a short while. Same issue. Still not working, supports says delete the app if all else fails and start again. Ok so I did. I got the app working ok again. Come to use it this morning back to the same situation. Deleted again. Grrrr!!

100% would recommend
I really enjoyed this app and heres the reason why :I came to Bangladesh and a lot of sites and games are restricted , for example pubg , so i use this and it works perfectly. I tried the trial for premium and it was so fast I didn’t have to wait for anything to load , my trial has finished so I’m on the free version now and it still works amazing, not as fast as premium but there’s no restriction on how often i can use it . For something thats free this is amazing, better than other vpn apps! will continue using even once I’m back home in the UK :)

Does it actually work
I bought the premium so that I could be located in the UK wherever I am in the world but it doesn’t work I try to access I’m websites and I’m told not available in my location or I’m trying to access from an unauthorised location, even though I’m apparently going through a vpn the websites know I’m not in the uk! Expensive monthly subscription for something that doesn’t work properly. Must be better ones at lower prices a month out there than this one.

Good service but needs more options
Great service, seems fast and reliable and quick to connect, and a good range of locations to appear from. However, occasionally some apps don’t work when connected to the VPN. Also, the HotspotShield app options are very limited, one really useful feature would be to have a white list of trusted WiFi networks that when connected to, it doesn’t connect to the VPN (e.g. my home WiFi), as it does introduce some speed restrictions, especially on uploads.

Free and unlimited use
It took me forever to come across a free vpn which allowed unlimited access, and if you want you can pay a small amount to get an extremely fast and secure VPN on several devices. Would definitely recommend!

Hi, I just wanted to say that I think this app would be brilliant but for a few flaws (no app is perfect)
The good thing is that it works in China, which is absolutely amazing but, it takes about 5 minutes for google to load. It also seems to stop working at random times into the vpn session and sometimes when I try connecting it on the app, it spins for 1 circle then stops, and I have to double tap and try again which does the same thing. It sometimes works and it sometimes doesn’t but I think altogether it’s a decent vpn.

I can’t be sure if it’s working or not..
Hotspot shield is a trusted name when it comes to VPN clients.. and it offers apps across most operating systems. The iPhone iOS version is easy to use and get up and running. The only issue I have is that I never know when it’s actually working and when it’s not.
The VPN symbol which is usually located on the service bar at the top of the iPhone screen is always hidden, unless WiFi is turned off and I’m using cellular network. When I’m on WiFi the symbol never shows on the service bar, I have to constantly pull down the service menu to see it showing which is a complete pain in the behind. It also disappears frequently, but the HS app will tell me I’m connected - so conflicting information. - also I don’t believe that there is a kill switch built into the app.. so when the VPN does drop I don’t know if I’m exposing myself to the ISP or not!?! And that’s a big problem and completely defeats the point of using a VPN in the first place! - the app has great potential but there are just too many grey areas for me to be able to fully trust that it’s doing what it should be.

Decent app
This is a very decent app and does the job done very quickly. It unblocks all websites and social media at my school and you don’t need to pay.
It could just be a coincidence but it’s happened to a couple friends and I. since i’ve downloaded the app connecting to wifi often takes around 10 minutes. Best VPN - Highly recommended.
Excellent VPN, I have tried others and there is no comparison. This is my second year using HotspotVPN, I have never had any issues even when reloading the VPN onto a factory reset phone unlike other VPN’s that I have previously used. Highly recommended 5 stars all the way.

Amazing
It really upgraded my internet which is regularly horrible but when I downloaded this app I was so happy to see my internet was faster than ever.i saw people saying you need to pay to use this you don’t you have to pay for premium not the actual VPN

Awesome, but one slight problem...
This app is amazing. The only problems is that the VPN regularly disappears (the VPN indicator on the top). This might be a technical issue, as it might not mean that the VPN has stopped, but just disappear for no reason. But still, this make me feel like the VPN isn't working properly which makes me feel uncomfortable and may make others users feel the same as well. Thank you for reading my review 😊.

I was a bit worried,because my phone said it would somehow get a virus?? I was so confused,and upset!! But I looked up ‘virus blockers’ and this came up. I hooked it up to my ‘VPN’ and hopefully it’s worked. I’ll see the results tomorrow. It’s worked really good for me so far!! And hopefully this app works. I’ve got so much other apps and there’re really bad?! Also so bad,poor and awful!! One was 2.4 stars!! I’m still quite worried but hopefully it’ll be ok.

Don’t see the point
Seriously if you want to be anonymous use TOR it’s much better and it’s free. For privacy it relays a signal to a far away server before sending the signal to a satellite. This is quite easy to get past and see who you are. When using TOR it sends the signal through three servers which cannot be cracked. It satisfies most of you people who just want to access dodgy sites while using school WiFi but if you really want to be private then use TOR.

I just want to add- there are alot of angry comments saying about paying. You don’t need to do that!!! You just press the X when it asks you to pay and then select USA as your country even if you don’t live there. If you go in to settings and turn on VPN it should work when you want to access blocked websites honestly you just need to work out how to use it. Don’t press any free trials or enter any details it is uneccesary just it’s a great app okay just download for gods sake
