Created by British editors, Arrow Words is a classic crossword app with a useful twist. In arrow words puzzles, the clues are shown right in the puzzle grid, making them easy to view and play on the iPad screen.
This lovingly produced app includes 400 all-new Arrow Words puzzles in 4 levels. Easier levels use simpler words and a smaller grid, perfect for a short break. Harder levels have tougher clues and larger puzzle grids for hours of challenging fun. Also, careful editing and a huge pool of words ensure that clues don’t repeat too often.
The sound and graphics are also designed for true crossword aficionados. Choose from three visual interfaces that recreate the atmosphere of the crossword in the Sunday paper. If you miss using your favorite pen to solve puzzels, you’ll love the optional sounds of a moving pen as you fill in the squares, custom recorded for each letter!

Not as advertised
I've just upgraded the very difficult crossword as I had done them all,said 99p for 1100 but it appears only to have given me only 100!

Full pro game is advertised as £2.99 but is actually £4.99

Hours of enjoyment
Not the perfect crossword, some clues are dubious but probably the best crossword app out there.
Especially now that it works with iOS9.

Can't play!
After enjoying the free ap I decided to purchase the plus ap. The keyboard is covering the top half of the puzzle and I cannot use any of the keys or see half the puzzle! Being a bit stupid I decided to purchase the normal ap to see if that altered the game for me to actually use it. Did not work! Wasted my money unless there are changes in settings needed! I have ios9!

Too many inaccuracies
Too many clues are repeated in other crosswords in the series. Too many spellings are incorrect, eg: "brier" when it should "briar"; "odor" when it should be "odour". And there are examples of inaccurate definitions.

You really need some lateral thinking and to ignore the bad spelling and strange use of the English language in these arrow words. I love the challenge to overcome these shortcomings!

I am pleased to see the updated version of this app,one of the best puzzle apps to date,missed it during teething troubles with ios8 ,alternative puzzle not acceptable.

Rip off
Puzzles themselves are ok despite some ambiguous clues ('exclamation of disgust') one has to guess at but worst than that is HEAVY repetition of clues - by the time I had completed 20 of a given level only half the clues were new, ie hadn't already been seen in a previous puzzle. RIP OFF!!!

Upgrade Failed
I paid for the 400 upgrade but I only get about 5 each of the difficult & very difficult and only 10 of the normal. After that, no new puzzles, so a waste of money!

The app is well designed and intuitive but there are occasional misspelled words, and the clues can be a bit odd compared to their answers.

Very Addictive
If you like the arrow word books, then you should like this, My wife and I both enjoy arrow word books and we think this app is great. The Americanisms and the odd strange answer are just the same as in the books so don't detract from the enjoyability of this app for us, we recommend it.

An OK crossword program with some drawbacks. There are some Americanisms and some strange clues when compared to the answer but mostly OK!

I think it is good. Sometimes the clues are not exactly descriptive of the word answer. However it is good fun. My aim is to do it without any help. Have not achieved it to date. Here's hoping.

Very nice. Easy to play. Quite a few duplicated clues though, across puzzles. And all the apostrophes from the clues are missing, which makes it look rather amateurish. otherwise very enjoyable.

Pretty good
For the price, this app offers great entertainment and a huge number of puzzles. They're not the best puzzles but they're definitely not the worst! Some repetition and a few typos/poor clues but I'm glad I bought it and am enjoying them. Happy puzzling!

Barring the odd repeated clue here and there, this is the ultimate value for money time killer. As addictive as it is both simple and satisfying, if your chosen device is without this app then it is incomplete. Get it!

Some clues do not match the answers
The word poor is not a clue for 'needly', they are not even related. Please refine your clues and repeat clues less often to improve an otherwise well functioning app that despite the odd hiccup I am enjoying!

Perfect concept; needs fine tuned
I love these types of puzzles and am delighted with this app. The range of puzzles is good. A few issues around scrolling and fitting the whole puzzle on screen, but definitely getting there. Also some of the on screen displays are a bit unintuitive. I'll happily keep playing, though, and probably buy the next set of puzzles, too.
