Income is my only issue
I have tried loads of similar apps and this is the best by far.
Like most people, I don't get paid on the 1st of every month. Seeing my account in the red for a week between actually being paid and the ap adding my salary is not very motivating!!!
The developers state it's something they are working on but it's a long time coming.

Promising but buggy
I've tried nearly every budgeting app in the store and this is by far the closest to what I'm looking for — simple yet effective. It's just let down by some basic bugs and lack of attention to detail, such as rounding errors, not updating the unassigned money label, shoddy editing for categories and fixed incomes (have to delete the placeholder text for the name and money input lacks polish).
I don't mind the app rounding to whole pounds, as I do this anyway. It should always round income down and expenditure up, though, as rounding to the nearest whole value is misleading. Also, if you're going to round the values, please make it obvious at an earlier stage (when entering values).

Not perfect but getting there
The good: Really easy to use and get to grips with. Lots of customisation in terms of adding new budget categories, fixed expenses or income streams. The goal function is also quite handy though I've not reached my goal target yet so don't know what happens after that!
The bad: Say you entered a budget of £159 for groceries and spent £63.85 - there's no "at a glance" way of seeing how much you've left to spend in that category. While it shouldn't be hard to do the math, it would be really helpful if the app did it for you.
The ugly: Why on earth does this app insist on rounding up to the nearest £1? As a money management app it ought to show a precise balance. Support for 2 decimal places PLEASE.
PS - I've tried other budget apps. This is still my favourite.

Good app but no "in arrears"
Have always loved using this app but the option to have a date that your payment records from and to would be great! Basically the option to have payment show in arrears is what people within the UK need.

Amaizing app really helps me alot however can you look at the ipad/ipad mini compatibility its very pixelated because you have to zoom in on the app... But its a 5 star app

Just getting started with the app
I'm really living it so far but don't know how I'll cope when it switches to next month as I'd want it to restart after I've been paid not on the calendar month. Also my fixed expenses change month by month and not too sure this will be fully supported. Te app looks great, I love the graph and even though I was totally dedicated to the Cha-Ching app I never set myself budgets for individual categories with that app. Here that's much easier and I started using that without even noticing. The only real downside, and it is a big one for me is the fact that you can't enter pence values just full pounds. I don't understand why this happens as the whole point is to track your spending and estimating it stops you from fully doing this. PLEASE ADD FULL VULE SUPPORT AND NOT ROUND THINGS UP TO FULL £

Not overly complicated like other budget trackers.
I wanted an app that would add up my bills, tell me how much I've got left and track my spending with few button presses. This app does a great job of all that.

Every penny helps...
This is a really useful app but I find it irritating that it rounds up amounts. It may seem picky but I would like to see exactly what I am spending, not a rounded up version. Also, what makes it more frustrating is that when entering the amounts, it actually records the pounds and pence, so why not show that??? It is a very minor complaint but it annoys me whenever I use it- either take away the function to enter pence or count them in the totals. It feels sloppy in an otherwise great app.

Still can't open or use
Still no update to fix faults. Cant open app so is rendered useless. I used to LOVE using it, now I can't. Please please please fix it!! It's sorely missed.

Great but getting ugly!
I choose my applications based a huge deal on their design and layout. This app was a beauty to me, however with the new update, the added features, though they work well are horrid to look at.

Not bad
Looks good and is easy to use although as previous reviews suggest there are some bugs. Not had the app for too long but have already discovered that you can't name or edit the name of categories which is dissapointing.
Come app developers sort these few things out and it will be a great app.

VERY DISSAPOINTED!
I got this app last year and it has been useful. However the last couple of months have been frustrating as this app keeps corrupting itself. Suggestions have been made to back up the data, delete and re-install the app from iTunes. Doing this numerous times a month is just wasting my time, which I did not pay for! Unless this is corrected soon, I'll be taking my business elsewhere!

Looks good, performs not so good
It certainly attracted my attention for friendly looking interface and Goals you can set up and allocate your saving to every month. However performance wise it ruined my attraction completely and I changed to Nexus Money which have less of a fancy design but is still pretty and does its work well. Budget had struggled with deleting expenses entries and roll over of remaining income from the previous month. It also did not have any pie or bar chart to illustrate my expenditure in time and by type, which is quite helpful.

Avoid for now
Sounded great in the description, I've been looking for something like this for ages, I thought it would work well.
I was wrong.
Bugs galore, doesn't save name changes, transactions or edits to payments. Failed to carry over anything to the next month etc.
I wasted so much time trying to set this up, really not happy!
The fact that you can't even set your monthly start date, I.e I get paid mid month, so I want to start tracking from that date, yeah - you can't!
It paints an unrealistic picture of what you have available because it takes into account payments that are due to come in before they actually do!
So if I get paid on the 25th, on the 20th it says I've already got my salary to spend!
Rubbish.
I may keep this if there are updates soon, but at this point I want a refund, waste of cash!!!!!

Monitor your personal finances!
Nice interface, easy to use and good features for us non accountants that only want a good, clear, view of our personal finances. There are some bugs in there that won't let you put a title on a category etc which I trust to be sorted with the next update. Overall, very happy with this app. Still to see how the carry over to next month work.

Great app, eat to use and facilitates tracking your finances well. Not sure about month roll over yet as I've only just started using it... But all good otherwise! Would definitely recommend.

Everything stopped working in february!
Was fine I loved it but come february all my setting have gone and it won't let me redo them, everyday I get the same reminders on items I marked as paid the day before. now useless :(

[No longer] the best finance app
** UPDATE **
See my original glowing review below. That's how good it was. Regretfully, February came around and absolutely nothing rolls over to the next month. I'm sure it will be fixed, but frankly, I am embarrassed to have recommended it to so many people. It won't happen again.

Since owning the first iPhone I have been searching for the perfect finance app. I remember loving Pennies but wished it had goal tracking, and didn't use anything for years.
Finally, Back In Black is that dream app. Everything from the graphics to the ease of use is perfect. It's a shame the name suggests you need to be in debt to use the app, because this is good for everyone.

Same problems
Having same problems as previous reviewers, loved the app until it bugged to hell on month rollover, none of goals or categories carried across and trying to reads catergories just gives error messages.
Rubbish untested and useless app.
Please test your apps thoroughly before charging me money next time.

Buggy
'Robust and efficient at its' task. Nicely designed too, so pleasure to use. Adding a spending cost is quick and simple.'
That was my initial review. Now however since the month rollover the app crashes on startup or when i start to enter a transaction. More annoying is the popup welcome screen that now has to be dismissed each time I start the app- even if it hasn't been force closed. Recurring transactions have not been carried over either. Disappointing.

Nearly perfect!
Certainly the best I've used, automatically rolls over your monthly expenses each month :-)
Only drawback I have found so far is that there isn't the possibility to calculate interest payments when repaying a credit card/loan... Could be a field to enter interest % or how much you paid this month (which calculates the interest rate for future months)...
Still give it 5 stars as it is perfect otherwise :-)

Good, but needs improving and bug fixing
Good app. Nice User interface. Nicely designed. It says everything such as goals and fixed expenses roll over to the next month, however this never happens. You have to start from scratch every month.

Could be better
Great app. However limited icons. No graphical display. Can not monitor individual expense over time. Will not populate next month until date changed to 1st. Not good for planning ahead for example. Goals not displayed until month they start. Need ability to monitor things separately like interest payments over time that won't interfere with the budget app. Otherwise great, made me aware of my spending unlike never before!

Just what you need: a flexible easy to use app to log and monitor your budget, finance projections. It would be even better if it had an export/import facility, and some better visual summary display (graphs)

By default the app has a set payday of the 1st! If you could set you're own payday this app would be far better!

Weep! I need to delete a category and can't!
The typical swipe to delete doesn't seem to work in this app, nor does the developer's website. I need help deleting my mistakes! Otherwise, the app has a great interface and is easy and fun to use. Now to figure out if I can afford to pay more rent...

Excellent
I think this app is great, a really simple & easy way to keep track of spending. Like other people have mentioned, the main downside is not being able to run it from a bespoke pay date ( I get paid on 25th of each month) but it is still possible to use it effectively, you just need to remember to carry on using the previous months budget until your pay day. If this aspect was fixed, i'd rate it 5 stars.

Pretty interface, but also pretty useless.
This app is supposed to create a new budget every month based on last month's settings: not only doesn't this happen, but all my categories and budgets for September AND August were deleted this morning. Instead of being able to review all my data today, I would have to set up the app from scratch.

Buggy and very cumbersome.
It's all set around you getting paid at the start of the month. If you don't then this app becomes useless to manage and budget. I get paid on the 27th of each month.
Multiple account tracking is needed too.
** BUG - When you delete a category in fixed expenses, the original category and it's content are deleted correctly. BUT the category underneath suddenly gets the name of the category you deleted! Please fix this ASAP.
BAD Points - the UI locks up regularly when saving data sometimes for long periods of time on iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.5.
Plus points are it looks nice but lacks some user flow and UX love. Hopefully the developers will listen and make this app what it deserves to be.

One or two tweaks before 5*
I love this app and use it every day so would definitely reccomend. However, the app needs to be lockable - passing around my phone can get a bit stressful when whoever has the ability to find out my financial situation! A way to view all purchases by date and a more easily editable goals section would also be good - if you can't quite make the goal one month, or want to put in extra, or change the final goal, would be nice to be able to without confusing the app. But please bring in a lock, most importantly!

Ok so far..
As per many of the reviews, it is a functioning budget app with a good interface, however on the next update the app needs to have the option of setting WHEN you get paid in the month / week and the frequency of outgoings to run between these dates. Then I would bump it up to 5 stars.

I get paid on the 27th of each month so this app is of no use to me until this feature can be adjusted. Looks like a promising app to be used along side 'Pocket Money' but not instead of.
If this is sorted out in an update I would give it 5 stars.

Not very good
Just purchased this app after reading reviews I think I must have got the wrong app. It won't let me adjust monthly fixed amounts and is basically just an elaborate calculator not worth the money. Also it only allows 1 account so if you have more than one tough
