The Spartacus-App has five different versions, all auto-renewable subscriptions, valid for 1 year:

- ‘Worldwide’ - for information on the entire world! - price US$ 9,99
- `North America’ – information on Canada, Mexico and the U.S. – price US$ 5,99
- ‘Latin America, Asia, Africa and Oceania’ - all these regions together - price US$ 5,99
- ‘Europe’ - information on 45 European countries - price US$ 5,99
The paid-for versions include continuously updates for 12 months. Subscription automatically renews itself unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. The Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal. Subscriptions has only to be managed by the user by going to the user’s Account Settings after purchase.

OK
Better than the first version which crashed.
We have a working app.
But I still think the previous was better.
I find the new icons hard to understand.
The icons meaningless.
Accommodation category is now virtually non existent category.
There seems to be lots of information on straight venues like museums, churches.
OK I guess but if the information is going to be the same as everyone else then why bother.
I feel cheated as I’ve a subscription for an app I no longer feel I want to read.
Guess it’s back to the good old fashioned paper version.

Really hard to find information on a location with the removal of the progressive filter menu.

Much better
Considerably better than the previous version. Navigation is more intuitive, though on first launch, the back arrow and favourite buttons did disappear from the location detail cards. But haven’t had this issue since. Much better too to now have photographs for all the entries. Now worth the subscription charge.

New version of the app is terrible. Hard to navigate around. Hard to understand. Needs to be like the older version. Can’t tap on a point on the map anymore. I won’t be renewing my subscription

This app would be great for the gay traveller to put them in the know, but unfortunately the info on places is totally out of date! You would be better off just Googling where your visiting. Clubs/bars that have been open for years don't even show up on locations. Don't waste your money. A shame.

Doesn't work
Stopped working after I updated to ios8. Agree with other reviews unfortunately. The info is really valuable but the implementation is terrible. Developers, please make this app better!

Unstable app
I paid for the app but could not use it. Every time I tried to open it, it crashed. I removed it from my iPhone 5. I have even been charged recurring charges which I never authorised. The app is not stable.

Great idea, an international gay information app, but this one is so badly designed, a child could have done it better. Forget planning before you arrive to a destination, this app only really works in situ, and then the range of information is so poor .. why bother. Total waste of money!!

Worst app. Rip off.
So they have been taking £7.49 on auto-renew for the premium access BUT when I use it I only have basic access. Even though it says my current PREMIUM subscription expires in April 2014. Complete and utter mess and obviously not addressing these issues that other people are also having. Thanks for nothing Spartacus, enjoy my money. Auto-renewal is now OFF so you won't be getting any more.

Works very badly
So I paid for the premium content, but it works in a really clunky way. It updates *every* time you open it, even if that was five minutes ago. So it's slow. If you're visiting a part of the world with slow internet, this app is rubbish. Then when it does open, it doesn't automatically geolocate you (which is stupid) and when you tap enough times it gives you a map or a list of places which is then half obscured by the controls at the top of the screen. For a German app this is really badly thought through. And the publishers ought to make it better because we don't have to use Spartacus all the time any more, God bless the Internet.

Basically you cannot use this app without paying a ridiculous subscription charge. I appreciate developers want to make money but doesn't even give a taste of what it could do....so why should I be inclined to waste my money.
The couple of things it does let you do like find your location are clunky at best.....deleted.

Agree with previous reviews. App takes 2 mins to start every single time. Crashes repeatedly. It seems to have only a small fraction of the info in the printed guide. It fails on every level

Slow to load. Only lets you open guide if online. Even then takes an age so assume is hogging data . This app is not ready, which is a shame given a year late
