Description

Bird Id is a great tool to help you quickly and easily identify birds of the British Isles. Its great fun to use. For the bird enthusiast there is anatomical, ecological and taxonomic information too.

With Bird Id, identification can be enjoyed by the whole family. Record your own bird sightings with GPS position and photo too.

Bird Id includes images and songs of all birds covered by the RSPB BGB survey of the British Isles. Many other species are included too, 253 bird species in total.

Bird Id can be used to keep a log of your bird sightings making it easy to build a record of all the birds you've seen. Bird Id has been created by professional published ecologists, and uses propriety image and audio libraries, accept no cheap imitations!

SUNBIRD apps appear in BBC Countryfile's top 10 apps and have been described as "incredibly useful" by ITV's Seth Conway and "lovely" by Adam Vaughan of the Guardian.

Crashes when editing location

You need to add all sightings at the actual location. The app crashes EVERY time if you want to add & edit location when you get back home.

There are people who's only job it is to work on this app. and make it function properly. They obviously can't be bothered.

Downloaded the app to try and help me identify birds. Very disappointed, thought the bird I was looking at was a little egret, can’t find it anywhere on the app had to go home and look in my readers digest book of birds.

The personal sightings function is worse than useless. It crashes if you try to edit a location, and won’t let you add your own photo despite this being a function offered. Dates are in German. This is a shoddy app that I cannot recommend, and I wish I could get my money back...

I really like this app, but the ability to edit locations of sightings causes the app to crash. So if I tried to enter a sighting after I got home from a walk I cannot, and it will only put the sighting as being in my current location. If you press ‘edit location’ the app crashes and force quits.

I am really enjoying this app and especially the fact it supports family share. For the most part it is completely intuitive and so great for kids to use as well as technophobes like me. I have read the help section and it’s clear enough in all but one aspect. I have not been able to establish the white tick on species I have logged and nor does the sightings map appear to show the percentage species spot that n the top left as indicated in the aforementioned help section. If anyone wants to let me know what I am missing then please do. All in all a welcome and valuable addition to my apps list.

This is my favourite Bird ID. Clear, helpful and all that I need for my varied, beautiful garden birds. An old apple tree, feeders that encourage all to come visit with us. The neighbours don't even know they are there. Squirrels have their own box so leave the birds alone. Seed and peanuts by the sackful, and they keep on comin'.

We've had this app for ages, but since moving house have not really used it. Not the birds are coming into the garden again its brilliant to be able to identify them. The only extra thing I'd like is to be able to see size in relation to another bird e.g. Robin to house sparrow, to help us identify the tiny little bird that's too far away to see detail!

I really like this app, it allows me to continually record my bird sightings, but also allows me to revisit those sightings, it also allows you to add your own notes.

Don't expect much from this overpriced and overrated app. One photo per bird, badly indexed and frankly amateurishly presented. And now they have my money and I'm stuffed for getting it refunded.
