Very poor experience
I used my UK phone number to book flights and track everything. It is really inconvenient. 1. I can’t even login with my phone number again after I renewed the app. It requires a ‘credential number’ that is different from my phone number. 2. My flight got cancelled but I wasn’t even noticed from the app. 3. I have difficulty joining the membership. 4. I have difficulties choosing the diet on the flight from the App while I have diabetes. In summary, Really disappointing experience.

Been trying for two days to sign up. But the verification code system is either busy so doesn’t send code on website or via the app sends code but is very late and even if use the code straight away once received it says code is now expired. Unable to sign up so unable to login to app.

Worst airline flying in Europe
Chinese by default language in app ? That’s a joke. I haven’t seen in my life such bad registration and check in system. It’s impossible to register because special codes are required and unfortunately you won’t get them on time. I was able to register but the password is sent by airline, so again, you won’t get in on time. Moreover if there is still no code available, the system block account after too many attempts to get the code. Password reset doesn’t work because account number is required, which is available only after registration. It’s a vicious circle.
It’s impossible to check in like in any other civilised airlines. Not recommended !

Unable to add contact details
I’m English and trying to get the app from Chinese to English is a nightmare. Move away from the main pages to find out about wi-if etc and everything goes back to Chinese. I had to call China 3 times just to get my contact details added so that I could even find my flight. Appalling app and no help at all.

Only chinese?
Horrible experience. Their browser wouldn't let me check in (404 error), so I had to download their app. Now the app only shows Chinese, and I can't do anything. Why would you only provide the app in Chinese? My phone is set to English, but the app doesn't reflect that so I assume they don't provide English. They should stop selling tickets to non-Chinese speakers if they don't support other languages.

中国航空公司的apps在境外都难用 估计没有测试过 而南航的比其他的烂太多了 每次查询机票都有个弹出页面 提示防止诈骗啥的 谁会去看 完全挡住航班信息 你要关闭它才能继续使用 不是只弹出一次 之后就不弹了 而是每次查询都弹 你查十次就要手动关闭它十次 不知谁做的这么缺心眼的设计
查询机票几十次后这软件就崩溃了 再不能出查询结果 只显示个错误信息说太多用户使用所以查询失败什么的 所以每查三十次左右需要卸载了重新安装 还有订票的时候不像携程能帮你锁定 给你时间填写个人信息 所以总出现你看到一张票 剩一张 最快速度写好信息提交 就显示票已售罄 网页版也没锁定的功能 就很坑

Follow instructions below to use in English…
So not easy for non-chinese speaking clients, and could be easier to use. Just blundered through myself quite easily, got the English version and then logged in to het my flight details up and everything works great now i can read it!
FIRSTLY: Go to the China Southern website and sign up for the website, and I suggest their Pearl rewards too! Then come back to the app!
- Open app.
- Click the right side red button. (Probably agreeing to terms conditions?) and wait for next page to load. Patience!
- Next page, click on Globe symbol top left, and you should get a drop down.
- choose your country (United Kingdom for me).
- choose your language (English for me).
(If you have already signed up on their website…)
Now click login.
Enter your email address, then your last name, then your first name/s.
Then your password.
Then the captcha..
If you get to a the next page it looks like you haven’t signed in. DON’T PANIC!
Scroll down until you see the CHECK IN link & click it…
Now Enter your airline reference number. (This should be on your flight confirmation from your agent. THIS IS NOT YOUR AGENTS REFERENCE!)
Now enter your last name & then your first name/s and confirm..
Patience.
Your booking should now be on your app screen!

Impossible to change language
I cannot believe they don’t have an intuitive quick way to change the language to English. In Chinese so I was totally clueless on how to use the tap, needless to say I could not check in - after close to an hour trying I deleted the app. Useless

Probably the worst travel app in the world
This app is unbelievably bad. You try and get verification codes from clicking icons in an order but it keeps saving verification failed even though you have clicked them in order. Should be removed from the App Store.

Although the flights can be long, they are very accommodating with 8hr+ stopovers on many occasions.
The airports are very big so allow plenty of time to get to your transit gate.
just remember in China, there are a lot of restricted western websites.

This ‘app’ is a disgrace to the airline!
No! I do not agree! This is not an ‘app’ for serious and right thinking travelling passengers. Probably better for drunk travelling passengers leaving a local English pub! No thought whatsoever was put into building this app. It looks like an assignment for a very unhappy kindergarten class. I appreciate that this is a Chinese airline but it also caters to international travels. This should have been put into consideration. Majority of the world speak English and the app should have been defaulted to the language. Besides, it looks more like a website than an app. This ‘app’ needs a complete overhaul because it’s making fun of the airline and if they can’t get something as simple as an app easy, user friendly, easy to navigate and catering to international market only God knows what the airline itself will be like. Have a look at British Airways, Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, China Airlines and rebuild this app as a matter of urgency.

Unfortunately this app is not up to International standards. It is impossible to go into your file to select a seat without a mysterious 11 digit telephone number... they ask for a Surname and a Last Name as if it is two different things when it would take a second to any English speaking person to spot the issues or any traveller to test the app.
