So frustrating

This is the ground hog day equivalent for apps. I don't subscribe, but buy the ones i want. Everyday i restore my purchases and down load the issue i'm reading, then the next day I find that all issues have uninstalled themselves and I have to restore my purchases again to re-download the issues. If only i had enough time free to read a whole issue in one go. Such fun

Mac Life - A Newbie's View

Reasonable price mag as a recent & late convert to all things Mac I find something whether it be brand new knowledge or one of those "Ah! That's what that does…" moments when I realise finally what this or that does or how to do or not do something that I've grown used to in the Windows environment. As other reviewers have pointed out I feel it can be a little light on
in-depth content but as for getting up to speed and educated in all things Mac can't really fault it.

Can't wait for each issue!

Love this app on the iPad mini - it's intuitive and great fun to use. I can read my fav magazine anywhere in brilliant colour. It's a joy to open each new issue to see what's in store. Very we'll designed cover flow to show past editions of the magazine. Older issues are just a click away. Thanks for a great user experience.

Avoid at all costs

They rip you off with over-priced in-app subscriptions and then fail to respond to concerns.

Little bit light on real content

Not a bad mag but a lot of the features are stuff I already know, very basic stuff. Also would like to see more hardware reviews & some thoughts, speculation on what's happening with Apple's product line up. Maybe even a letter to Apple page ie. not what Apple wants to give us but what the people want to see from Apple.

Helpful, very helpful and fun to

This combined with mac format is all you need. There is overlap but between them I'm advancing my mac skills in useful chunks, with interactive videos to!

Use to be good

Utter rubbish since update - trying to load the magazine in a low-bandwidth area is so painful I have given up. The new interface is not as helpful as the old version and repeatedly asks me for my password; no matter how many times I request to download, nothing happens. I would delete but they have my subscription money!

Download issues

I was told that this would download on multiple devises and it doesn't. This is really annoying since I have just purchased an iPad mini. It has been a bit hit and miss on my 2 other devices when recovering purchases, but does not work at all on the iPad mini.
Customer service just gave me standard email reply, but still doesn't work even when I delete app and reload and repurchase. I like these magazines, but I will have look elsewhere until this issue is sorted out.
Please sort this out as it doesn't work on your other magazines either such as Mini magazine

Cheap and good

WITHOUT PREJUDICE
THE GOOD
12 issues for £7.49
Retina display graphics
Works well, quality text
Friendly attitude from editors.
THE BAD
Cheap pdf version
No videos
Not enough reviews.
Readers looking to see reviews on routers or components.
Q&S section should involve more,
Subscribers should be able to ask editors questions regarding their problems with their iDevices or other components direct from the magazine and expect an answer in the next issue.
Adds on magazine are not clickable. There should be a link there to take you on to the companies website for more info.
FINALY I RECOMMEND THIS TO ALL HAVE iDEVICES

No Voice Over support

The magazine issues can't be read with Voice Over, so blind people such as myself can't access the content.
Really disappointed as digital publications should be the way to go for blind people and the iOS News Stand provides an ideal platform to make this possible!

It's good but....

it's a great magazine but the pages when you zoom in become blurry and take a bit of time to unblur, this app is not retina compatible yet with the new iPad which is a great shame!
69p for an issue though is a great offer though!

Great content but needs retina support...

I like this magazine, 69p makes it great value!
I'm finding on my iPhone 4S that when I try and fit the page on my screen the letters in the words fade out which is not full retina support.
We need to be able to read tiny writing that is crisp and clear!

Top App, Great Content, Low Price

Really impressed with this. Have subscribed for about 6 months now and never had any of the subscription issues talked about below.
I have a mac, iPhone and iPad and it's been great for me. Particular when I needed help on speeding up my mac, or getting the best out of iTunes match.
The 69p price is perfect and just in case any of the editors are reading this, it's just right considering your getting pretty much a PDF of the print mag.
Overall, really recommend it. Let's hope as its not broke they don't try and fix it!

Great magazine and good app

The app has been improved by the latest update, particularly now it remembers your position. A little hard to read in landscape (double page spread) but almost always fine in portrait, and there's always the zoom for smaller text. Interesting content and useful tips. For 69p an issue it doesn't get much better than this. Took some getting used to but now I love it. Would recommend to anyone with a Mac.

Don't bother

Subscribed to the magazine and downloaded second issue to find only 24 out of 80 pages displayed. Tried emailing their customer support to have no reply and the download issue still present despite deleting and re-downloading. Get Mac Format. Much better!

Version 1.2

Highly disappointing

I subscribed, however it only let me have one issue despite my paying a reoccuring charge. As in, i paid for the next issue and yet couldnt access it (was asked to pay again). Support on the matter seemed pretty lacking, (what looked like a useful contact email address just gave me an autoresponse pointing to an unhelpful faq page) but I wont kick up a fuss because frankley I dont want to read it anyway. Magazine content was dated, brief, and some of it was written with a horribly annoying egotistical/arrogant tone. Some of it read more like the childish rants of teenage fanboys on a web forum than the work of career journalists. Based on the issue i read, I would avoid even if it were free. Many free tech blogs are more current, offer more detail and are ironically more well written. I'm not sure what you're paying for here, besides a lot of ads.

No Sign Of Another Magazine

I subscribed to this on my iPad when it came out and for the price I thought the magazine was good. However having read it ages ago and still paying a monthly subscription it would have been nice for another to show up. I got a push notification that a new edition was available to download, but where and how? All I see is the original. Needs sorting fast or I'm unsubscribing. 2 stars for the mag and. One for the app.

Content is fine, but not good app

I like Maclife and downloaded the app and a one month sub to try it out non iOS. It now sits infuriatingly in Newstand displaying the 'new download' banner/badge *all the time*, yet I've in fact read it.
This is annoying enough, but I also seem to be somehow bumped off the subscription since it now constantly offers me the op to subscribe but no op to cancel. I have no idea if I'll be billed again next month. And can't find a straightforward way to query it in-app.
I am totally confused by all this - very unintuitive and very unApple.
