Easy to use

I love using this app to help plan my meals and track my macros. Once you have worked out the percentages or amount of each macro it is easy to choose from your saved food list to mix, match and make your meals work for your weight gain/loss goals. It can be quite hard to give yourself a variety of meals so a bit of thought is needed and the odd recipe book if your stuck for ideas. Saying that once you have either saved recipes or favourite meals you can forward plan for a few weeks on rotation to mix things up and keep yourself interested in a sustainable diet/meal plan.
The only down side for me it the initial upload of the individual foods you like to eat. Most of the barcodes I have tried don’t fully match the food or they didn’t work at all. I found myself uploading manually for most of my saved foods. Like I’ve said though, once you have them saved you can just tap and save your daily meals. I particularly like the charts with the macro summary for each day, it’s a good indicator for your intended totals or percentages.
Overall definitely better than other apps I’ve tried.

Could be great but hard to use

As a British user, the first thing I wanted to do is swap cups to grams, which seems as if I switch the actual measurements of the food input that the app uses rather than my servings. It’s tough to navigate and there is support but other apps (Nutracheck for example in the UK) do it better. Potential I do see - but needs a little more intuition.

Great Value

I do use the app on and off. But whatever initial cost I couldn’t be happier. It is as good as any other branded dieting app without the monthly fees. Once you have your macros goal you have access to tons of foods already stored in the app- or there’s a handy barcode scanner to make it as simple as possible to calculate your daily intake. It definitely serves to hold me accountable!

Really good, reasonably priced app

Things I like:
Nice widgets - more clear and aesthetic than a lot of other similar apps
Reasonable and one off payment - some extra features are locked behind a subscription, but they really are extras and everything important is available from a one off purchase
Really nice UI
A lot of dashboard customisation
Allows setting targets for all macros by percentage or specific figure
Can edit meals and their names (e.g. to have 5 meals a day, or add pre workout snack as a meal)
Built in macro calculators, with a complimentary use of the pro one even without a subscription.
Multiple goal profiles (so you could have one for bulking and one for cutting, or experiment without losing previously set targets)
Overall really good value for money, with pretty much all the features I want behind a very aesthetic interface
A few areas which could be improved:
Water tracker isn’t as prominent as I’d like. I’d rather not have to swipe on the dashboard to see it. Having it above, below or part of daily totals would be nice.
Even if water measurements are set to millilitres, the dashboard still shows gallons rather than litres alongside it.
It’s a bit US centric, with not as many UK foods. I always have to fix things after scanning the barcodes on UK foods, and most things aren’t in the search.
When searching, it doesn’t search by brand as well, only by name. Even if if the brand is in the food name, if it’s in brackets or at the end the search doesn’t find it. E.g. searching for ‘Aldi flaxseed’ will bring up ‘Aldi Foodie Market Flaxseed’ but won’t find ‘Foodie Market Flaxseed (Aldi)’. Nor will it find ‘Foodie Market Flaxseed’ with Aldi as the brand name, which is particularly annoying, because it means I have to put brands into the food name when adding new ones.
The nutrition label scanner is a really nice idea, but never works for me. Could be because it’s been trained on US labels, rather than UK?
The button for the side menu seems to be slightly off-screen on my iPhone 12 Pro, and sideswiping sometimes doesn’t work, which makes it feel like there’s a slight scaling or positioning issue.
When choosing macro goals, it would be nice to have grams, calories and ratios on both screens. So on the ratio screen, it would display the grams as you type in percentages. And in the grams screen, there could be an optional target calories field, and as you type in amounts for each macro it displays the percentage of your total calories. They could even be incorporated into one screen, but that might be harder.
I feel like there should be a plus sign or add food button on each meal on the dashboard to quickly bring up the search bar to add a food, without having to open the side menu
A calendar or graph view to see how well macro goals were hit over a month would be nice

Useless if you’re UK based.

Downloaded this as MyFitness now requires a subscription for macronutrients. Disappointed that EVERY bar code I’ve scanned hasn’t provided any results, meaning you have to input the data yourself. They boast 5 million + products, but absolutely no UK products. Avoid, save the pennies and go for something else.

Doesn’t work in UK/EU for net carbs

The nutritional information in the EU and UK separate fibers from carbs, so you don’t need to recalculate net carbs. The macro are not flexible for keto diets and the serving sizes are not flexible either. Very disappointed that I had to pay the app to find out I couldn’t use it.

Terrible food database for UK

Started using this app as a replacement for MyFitnessPal due to the difference in premium price, but wish I’d saved the £2.49 it cost to download it in the first place. The very first meal I tracked ( a simple omelette with a total of 7 ingredients ), the app found one barcode that was correct. It found 3 other barcodes with completely incorrect info, and the other 3 items it couldn’t even find! Way too much hassle. I’m going back to MFP.
Also couldn’t find a function to copy and paste a meal into another day, which is another really useful thing to be able to do. Could only find a way to add recently tracked foods one by one. MFP wins again.

Not UK friendly

The database is not fit for UK customers at all. Yes you can manually enter nutritional information but that’s not very good user experience. The UI however is decent, though after adding food I would rather it return to the main screen. The fact that you can track macros to a set goal is what bumped it up to three stars.

This app is a mess

If you are in UK their “extensive” library of food will not cover you. I have used it for 2 days and I’ve only a handful of the foods I buy on a regular basis and only in the global database where users input their own. But that’s not a win as they are entered with errors so I ended up entering my own value for all the foods.
Why not take a photo of the nutrition chart? Well because it does not work at all and the barcode scanner does not recognise anything.
Save your money and use a spreadsheet. My excel calorie tracker before had a much easier system of entering macros.
I give the 2 stars because once all the numbers are input the summaries and such are decent. It’s just you have to go through hell to enter that data.

It’s just not very good at all

As an attempt to move away from MyFitnessPal, I chose to invest in this app, thinking that a paid app would include enough features without a subscription, but no. This is a double-whammy! Paid app and paid subscription, what a ludicrous business model. Not to mention the food database is far and away worse than MyFitnessPal, making it a challenge to use. If I could get a refund, I would. In my opinion, don’t waste your time with this app

Basic

I downloaded this app thinking it might be good for tracking my dietary requirements. I should’ve saved myself 2.99 and stuck with what I was already using.
I couldn’t find foods that were UK brands right off the bat. trying to create a recipe and the foods database have all different types of servings rather than a standard 100 grams or 1 gram. Some foods are listed as “a cup” well a cup in the UK is not the same as the US so which is it? There’s no option to change the serving measurement to grams so I’d have to hunt to find out how much a cup of something weighs. Seems pretty imprecise and fiddly for tracking. No nutritional breakdown beyond macros unless you pay monthly to upgrade by the looks. As the initial investment into the app was a poor experience I’m hardly likely to pay more.

Version 2021.06

Not bad but cumbersome

I’ve had this app for a while now and whenever I track my macros, I go to use it only to be reminded of why I don’t continue to use it. It’s cumbersome and untrustworthy. It never seems to have some of the food items I need. So, there I go, scanning the food packaging barcode and turn on global settings. Low and behold, it won’t have the food item 80% of the time. Yes, it has a small database of food items and don’t fall for th global settings thing!
I’m always inputting something. Very annoying. Spend more time inputting data than tracking! Untrustworthy because it doesn’t automatically sync. You gotta sync manual. One point, it lost loads of my diary AND all the food details! After that, I chucked it.
It is helpful for its customisation options. It keeps you notified on how much of your macros you have left. Very good for IIFYM approach. Also, the price is low, so that’s helpful.
Overall, only 3 stars since I’m taking even more time to write a review of my grievances with this app, in addition to manually inputting my food items.

Good app, clear display, easy to navigate, some room for improvement

This app has the potential to be amazing, but it’s not quite there. The lay out is clear, and the functions are easy to navigate. The breakdown and display of macros/cals is easy to read and you can choose between a number of display options. You can opt to either customise and set your own daily targets or allow the app to set them. The meal input options are flexible and it doesn’t restrict you to breakfast, lunch, dinner and one snack, like many apps (frustratingly) do. The barcode scanner, so far, hasn’t recognised many of the foods I’ve tried to log or holds the incorrect nutritional data. This said, you can manually add foods and products, which is a little time consuming but still handy. However, then when I try to log the same food again at a later time, the serving size and nutrition data often changes and is wrong?? Often things seem to get converted to ‘cup’ measurements, with no way to manually override it and enter in grams ect, so not very accurate or helpful. Other apps I’ve used allow you to choose between units, grams or oz ect would be better. Also you can’t track dif types of fat beyond sat fats and there’s no data on micro nutrients and nowhere to add any. I’m still fairly new to using the app, but on the hole I’m pleased with it and despite the aforementioned issues I prefer it to the app I was previously using. I like that the focus is more on macros than simply just cals, so ‘what’ you’re putting your body, not just ‘how much’. It’s far better value and has more free features than many tracking apps. It doesn’t seem to link to my watch tracker or smart scales though, which is a shame, but this data can be entered manually.
Highly recommend the app!

Raw Food Database lacking

Would be great if there was more information for raw foods by grams/ ml. For example the USDA website has an API for developers which allows something like 3600 calls per hour per IP address. Once incorporated would also be great if the USDA results could be favourited so it is the first result to come up.

I purchased this app as it seemed great, however, no where mentioned that this is based on American database until I sussed myself after trying to search my meals. Not great for UK users

I see the potential in this app and folk rave about it and once you got up and running this will work fab but for UK users getting started is a bit of a pain, unless it’s a global brand it doesn’t pick up the food or read the label as well and so you still have to manually input which is a pain. Working out your recipes also isn’t great and so I keep going back to MyFitnessPal as this works better in the uk. Fantastic App

I downloaded the ‘top 5’ macronutrient tracking apps and gave them all a little go. In my opinion, this app is the best for tracking my macros. For a small upfront cost you really do get a ton of features.
The barcode database may not be as robust as others, but it is very simple to scan a product and add it to the database. I live in the UK and have no issues with scanning barcodes.
Key features for me are:
- Editing meal names & the option to add more.
- Setting your own macro ratios under Goals.
- Option to show net carbs (I don’t as I’m in UK).
- General layout of remaining & total macros & the info tab for the total breakdown and goals vs actuals.
A lot of this functionality in competitor apps is limited or hidden behind high subscription fees.

Not optimal in the Uk

Many of the foods from local supermarkets simple aren’t in the data base making macro counting just guest work which defeats the object of getting the app in the first place!! Waste of money for me when other apps out there at least cater for the country it’s selling in...

The best macro counting app I have used

MyMacros+ is really easy to use and fully customisable. Worth getting if you plan to count your calories/macros on any sort of regular basis.

Good potential

This app runs well and is easy to use. I don't mind inputting the food data myself as it's only a one off so having the scanner not work in the U.K does not put me off. The only thing that is really bugging me with the app and it seems nobody wants to do anything about it, is that when you delete a food from your meals it doesn't delete which throws your accuracy out for the day! THIS NEEDS LOOKING AT!! Do not buy this app untill the developers do something about this! When you spend money on an app you expect the app to work 100% not seem like it just some concept that still has bugs!

Great!!

Have been using this app for well over a year and love it.
The pre set foods are not really setup for UK users but as it's so quick and simple to add new foods it's never bothered me.
What i like most is the easy flexibility in configuring the foods, goals, meal times/names exactly as i want so it only takes seconds to add/adjust as i'm cooking or eating.

Really good app

Once i got most of the foods into the app that i eat it was so easy to use. To make it 5* i would love for the app to be able to give tips towards end of day for example if i need more protein it would be good if the app could suggest foods and weight to help me reach my goal for the day. That would obviously be more accurate and easy the more foods you programme in, but im sure it could be done.

Amazing app even in uk

Love the app better than my fitness pal i see some people can't simply just add the food in for other once it saved you can just log it or use fast track like I do it's simple and even my fitness pal doesn't find the right food or is something completely different. I love this app 😂😂

Game changer

Hated it when I first got and didn't use it for like 3months but unless I paid monthly or yearly subscription then I had no choice but to give it a second go. So much easier seeing the breakdown for everything and quick add! So much easier if you do IIFYM!!

Easy to use

& good functionality. It allows you to track more meals that MFP, which helps me so much,i.e. Pre & post workout meals. Being from the UK I have to add a lot of info in for food, but done once it's saved.
