Welcome to the 2025 Edition of Bridge. With 3 modes of play, practically unlimited deals and the ability to search for hands this Bridge card game is sure to teach, challenge and entertain you for hours.

Bridge supports the following 3 modes of play:

In Rubber Bridge a rubber is played as the best of three games. A game is won by the first partnership to score 100 or more points in successful contracts.

In Chicago Bridge, also known as Four-Hand Bridge, you play exactly four hands of Bridge. The winner is the partnership that scores the most points.

In Tournament Bridge you play at your own pace against players from around the world in duplicate style Bridge tournaments. Each player in a tournament plays the same hands with the winner scoring the most points. Alternatively you can easily create your own online Bridge club, invite your family, friends or even some enemies then play in duplicate style Bridge tournaments against your own select set of players.

What is Bridge?

Bridge is a trick taking card game played by four players who form two partnerships. Players within a partnership face each other across a table. Traditionally, the players are referred to by the points of the compass - North, East, South and West. The two partnerships are North/South and East/West.

Designed for both beginners and more advanced players you can choose how you prefer to play. There are plenty of features if you are trying to learn Bridge including auto play and hints. Meanwhile the more advanced players can use the bid analysis or replay hand features to explore different lines of card play.

IT DOESNT WORK

I ACCIDENTALLY PAID £7.99 TO USE THIS APP HAVING PREVIOUSLY PLAYED CHICAGO FOR NOTHING. I CANNOT GET PAS A SCREEN WITH LOTS OF CARD BACK OPTIONS AND A LARGE FINGEER POINTING AT ONE OPTION. NOTHING I DO CAN GET ME PAST HIS SCREEN. ICANNOT SELECT BRIDGE TOURNAMENTS, CHICAGO OR RUBBER. I WANT MY MONEY BACK BUT CAN’T FIND ANY WAY OF ASKING FOR IT! Series tournaments

Have just started playing series tournaments . The computer play is very slow in this part of the app and tends to hang. This makes it very hard to follow play. This is not due to my internet as I can flip to play other matchches which work perfectly and then go back to resume a series tournament and find it still waiting for the computer to play. Even closing and re-opening the app doesn’t make any difference.

Any suggestions ?

Not a good app

Often when I go to the hint, it tells you to pass. I ignore this, bid to game and make it. Unfortunately went to turn iPad off and it was at the same time as the payment came up. Now been charged nearly £8. For what. Disgusting never worth it.

Basic flaw

The opposition knows your cards! If you play alternative cards you will see that the opposition always knows what cards you hold. A fairly stupid way to design a bridge program

Works well, poor play

The game jams every so often. I think it’s when adverts are trying to appear. Its play of the hands is a bit primitive, and its bidding is very clunky. Overall, adequate.

Accepting that a free app needs to monetize via adverts but it’s becoming unusable at times with multiple ways of having to wait to close the advert when you’re in the middle of a game

Excellent app, now crashes constantly

This has been my staple app to wind down for years. It is very well designed and a joy to use. My only gripe is that the app has recently been crashing as soon as I open it since the latest update.

Great UX, poor gameplay

The app user experience is great, but the bidding doesn’t follow common strategies that exist. Sometimes even the gameplay doesn’t stack up. The poor bidding is why frustrates me a lot. Hence the first review.

Cards way too small now, bring back previous card size...

...or make the card size optional. Need a magnifying glass to play now. Why did you have to ruin a good thing?

Update: developer got in touch to explain that in landscape mode cards will be smaller (fair enough); in portarait they’d be the same size. The latter is not true however as the cards are much smaller then before in portrait mode.

Why on my iPad is it organised that the cards are on a single line which means that the card shapes are so small. Even if I select double stacked it still does a single line. Frustrating

Very sneaky app adding dodgy cookies

I paid for this app. Since 6 June 2020 or so it has added extra sneaky features such as asking to install cookies just after you click on the app.

These are linked up to Huawei and Google.

Dreadful update

The update in June 2020 is a complete disaster. In the previous version there was a sense of community, playing against and chatting with players across the world whom one came to recognise. This updated version it’s like a Disney cartoon version of bridge. Truly awful.

Very unhappy, please help undue this update

This. Update is terrible! How can I retrieve the previous version please? I lost all my points and ticketz and worst of all I miss the lovely sound and the sparkling star if I came first! In the landscape playing it is impossible to follow the bidding, you can’t see anything!!! There is also nu help function, a shopping car where you can get more zts, and no home function where one can see one’s latest results. Could you please help me how to undue this update on my iPhone please? Otherwise I have to look for another App. Thank you!

Can fix bugs!

Great game but I guess because it is s beta version I have a bug that the help desk just can’t fix. I cannot watch a video and claim a token. I have followed all their advice, ensured I had the latest update, sent them special secret code and all to no avail...very frustrating and disappointing!

Really good solitaire bridge

This is a great programme for learning bridge because one can explore the consequences of different bid lines and play lines, try playing the other side, request different types of hand to play etc.

Duplicate

Have been playing the Rubber Bridge for a long time and am over the moon they have introduced Chicago and Duplicate. The game has its bugs, sometimes the game finishes and it shows the review but no way of get back so have to close game down therefore aborting the game and losing tickets etc. Also the partner does not always play what it should as return play when defending and you wonder if it is fixed for you to lose! Would be good to have a pause button for say 5 minutes in case you have to stop for a moment. Would be helpful to have a few more option contracts. In duplicate games you can ask your opponent what their bid means, no way of doing that. However I am really enjoying the duplicate games.

Disgraceful!

Now I understand!!! The game crashes only when you have paid for the ad free version. If you uninstall and reinstall it works perfectly but of course with ads. This was set up not crash when it is ad free because they no longer want ad free players. Feel I am entitled to a refund!!!

Love it

This app has improved my game a lot. I like it because I can replay the hand, which I do a lot if I do not make the contract. You can skip hands that you don't like, no points. I play it every day.

Okay but

The game plays fine without crashing etc. It is well laid out and easy to play. The big problem / let down is the hands you are dealt. I'm a decent bridge player and was hoping to use this as practice but the hands you are dealt leave you with no chance of playing to win. On my last two groups of 30 hands (60 in total) I have on 48 occasions had less than 10 points, on only 5 occasions I had 15 points or more. On the majority of these hands the opponent has tabled a game winning bid. I'm not looking for winning hands to be dealt all the time but it is pointless to continuously be in a position of having no chance of competing. A good idea but no good as a training aid.

Advertisements spoil it

This used to be excellent on our old iPad. On my new device the latest version is stuffed full of advertisements that appear every few seconds, some blotting out the screen. If this does not change soon, I shall delete the app and never never buy any of the products advertised.

Not as good as the old version

Unfortunately this version has an irritating noise when you play which I do not seem to be able to turn off. It also goes on auto play in the middle of a game.

It gives more information about your hand but on the whole I wish I could go back to the old version.

Until April 2015, this worked very well. New update leads to long pauses in gameplay. Will be looking for an alternative after three years happy usage. Shame.

A second try

I wrote a review that has not been put up for some reason. Anyway, this new version Is disastrous. The bidding is totally out of kilter and senseless and certainly cannot cope with NT bidding under ACOL. Please rectify ASAP ....especially as on news of this update I decided to purchase rather than use the freebie....only to be let down.

Freezing

I agree, this keeps freezing now, I've deleted and downloaded this 3 times now and it's frozen each time after only a few goes. Deleting it now and looking for something else.

Good but.....

If you already know how to play bridge this is a great little game, very addictive. It won't teach you how to play though. You can set your preferences to UK or US style play too. However I find it crashes /freezes a lot on my iPad mini and has to be deleted and reinstalled which is a pain, as are the ads. Would buy the pay for version if I thought it would work better!

Ok for a free game

The interface is clunky and quite horrible, but I have not seen a clean one on the iPhone. Overall, the app gives a reasonable game of Bridge for free.

If you want new from your Bridge app and are happy to pay, try Bridge Baron.

App only seems to last a couple of days then screen goes white! Have to keep deleting and re-installing app, very glad did not pay to get rid of adverts as other reviewers not impressed with it. Cannot find a reliable bridge app ...

In-app purchase not working

The developers have managed to take my money for an in-app purchase to remove adverts. It worked for one session and now I have the horrible, annoying adverts for a poker game back again. I would advise avoiding this app until this has been sorted out. It's still pretty poor anyway, but I mistakenly thought it would be worth paying £2.49 to get rid of the adverts. My mistake!

Needs an updates

Plays the game of bridge pretty well, but it only works as a single player game because you can see your opponent's/partner's cards in the multiplayer modes. I've seen two bugs: the lead card occasionally does not appear and once an AI player had a card left over.
