Who came with this stupid idea of blocking the possibility to take a print screen of my transactions or whatever info I need in seconds? Whoever takes print screens own the phone isn’t it? An outsider would take a photo of the screen. Most people owns a phone not two… so, mate, just eliminate this stupid idea… people needs to printscreen sometimes and send proof… bad idea, brainless… I would fire the i@iot who came up with this…

Since the new version blacks out any attempt to screenshot the app - I can no longer keep a record of what I’ve done on the app - e.g. to show someone that I’ve paid something.
Please remove this restriction - surely if I have the permission to view my accounts in the app I should also be able to keep a copy of anything I want to share as proof that I performed a particular action.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience which is far from good. As someone who uses numerous banking and trading apps, I found the Halifax app to be the most frustrating. The app's sluggish performance, constant pop-up dialogs with a spinning lock icon, device authentication (so often not making any sense) make it feel like a step back in time. Despite using the latest iPhone and regularly updating the iOS version, the app's performance was consistently disappointing. I often end up restarting the app as it becomes unresponsive. These issues ultimately led me to transfer all my funds out of Halifax. I believe the app requires significant improvements to align with modern design and usability standards, and to enhance the overall user experience.

Hello developers, I appreciate security is of utmost importance, however convenience is also important. Sending a screenshot of a payment to a business and/or private entity was a convenient feature, but this is no longer possible. Also, since the web version allows screenshots, removing this feature from the APP defeats the object! There is a way forward to combine security with convenience, that is a user selectable timed approach. Allowing screenshots let’s say for 5 minutes at the time would be sufficient. As for myself, I shall no longer use the APP, but revert to to the web version until such time you have addressed the issue as outlined above. I have also logged a formal complaint with Halifax and should a solution not be forthcoming in the near future, I am intending to move my banking activities to another institution I am already banking with. Congratulation Halifax!

Halifax stopped HACKERS FROM M/Soft lifting amounts of my money until I went to my branch , to be told someone at Microsoft ( Delhi Scammers Pretending to be a legit firm dropping tenners from my Account ) I got back £168 pounds & did the duty of telling me ' why monies were slowly vanishing from me ' I'm just lucky they never did get anymore as Halifax changed my CARD & Details completely & now everything is all 100% the way it should be as Halifax are the best Banking Account on this ever increasing HACKERS/SPAMMERS ECT....broadband,

Last month we used the sun account to transfer funds into so we could pay the mortgage from that easily on the app.
It showed as transferring on the app but for reasons I’m sure are technical and the fault of the bank and the app, we later recieved a letter stating our mortgage was late.
The money was still sat in the sun account. This was transferred immediately and I then made contact with the bank to confirm the issue and that they would ensure no mark would go against our credit rating or effective t any mortgage holidays we may wish to take in the future. To date you still haven’t confirmed this back to us. We await your response confirming.
This month it appears to have been cleared but we will monitor the app daily as a precaution

2023-but you do not listen to your customers!
2022 – Seems to work fine. Being able to swipe to either the next/previous transaction would make it quicker instead of back to the full list. It’s not a deal breaker but it’s not getting 5 stars until that happens and 4.5 stars can’t be awarded. September 2017 – updated app is a little quicker and smoother. I'd like to be able to award 1/2 stars in App Store this should be 4.5 stars. If you use fingerprint ID and add a new print you have to use your memorable info to be able to continue to use. Personally I'd prefer full password and memorable information to add fingerprint. But that's me. Also I think the app needs to request full password entry on an ad-hoc basis or as randomly as an algorithm can be, which isn't very random but not on a regular routine. Just my personal security thoughts. With the advent of FaceID with iPhone X not sure I'd want to use that for entry to my bank account?!? Maybe the banks are OK with it or not have to wait and see.

I have banked with Halifax or the last 44 years; Halifax staff have always been consistently, supportive, professional and friendly. The in-house software and banking systems make banking with Halifax straightforward and easy to use. This is an outstanding track record. I have since used Nat West and also Barclays (for mum) and Halifax is by far the easiest and most convenient to use.
Very sad to see Halifax close and I now have to make a 10 mile round trip to deposit a cheque!!
I am considering changing to a bank that is not closing down Whitley Bay.
Terrible times though that US banks want to convert to Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and remove cash permanently. This will enable them to have complete control over what we spend our money on. Small businesses will suffer even more due to what interest they charge on every card transaction. small to medium businesses should have the option to accept cash. Every card transaction means that banks make a profit. Will cash dispensers e.g. Sainsbury’s soon start charging people to withdraw cash now that banks are closing?

Ive just downloaded this app because when i went to sign in it told me there was an update. Usually i always read the reviews BEFORE downloading but because it was halifax and there app is always good i just did it. But im worried now because in the reviews of this NEW VERSION i had to get they are all between 1 and 5yrs old, long and dont make much sense but u do get the idea that people arent happy. Anyway ive just come to cash machine and already problems. Checked my balance, lot lower than expected but i will look into that. But i tried a few times to draw £200 and then £100 but just said cant do this transaction. Thinking it was the machine i went to another one a mile away, same thing, said no to me taking 200. So i tried £10, gave me it!! So i tried £80, gave me it then another £80 then a £30 (total£200) WHY? WHYY WHYYYY? Hope this isnt part of the downgrade of the app!!! Also how have you got 1.5million reviews for a NEW upgrade?

App also has brilliant features which shows your own card in it and pins navigation where in such many people do not carry card as often this app has in-hold card details in very blind folded with full security of safe to use and access. It is handy when you forgot to put your card in your wallet and realised you are badly put to hard time, this is when this Halifax app comes in very useful tool when many people will not leave their phone left forgotten but very rare but phones seems to be very important now a days, it is too easily not forgotten but even if you do, there is always something which you would not able to leave it away your phone but you would must bring it with you because all the alerts, texts, phone rings and valuable apps there, will make you wanted not to forget although you may want to forget sometime to be off your own world silence, still the phone would be there at alert every step of the time. Therefore this brilliant navigation in Halifax app in-hold card will be there when you at this time of scenario, forgot not but forgotten to forgetfulness as forgetting to know.

Great App.
However, there’s a bug when trying to pay your credit card bill. To pay you select Pay from the bottom menu, then select either from a bank account or debit card, to the Credit Card account (I select from Debit Card), you then enter the amount and select continue, then continue again, which usually redirects (asking you if you want to “leave” the App) to a webpage where you pay your credit card bill. Unfortunately, tapping continue doesn’t always initiate the redirect; it either does nothing at all or if you continually press continue several times it can work or sometimes you have to restart the App, again several times, for it to work. Please fix.

Thank you Halifax, having read some reviews I feel compelled to write one to say that I have had an app for many years and it’s been excellent. You can keep track of all your money even your mortgage and pay and transfer without any problems. I tell anyone who hasn’t got the app to download it as you can do everything from the comfort of your own home.
Also if you have fingerprint or Face ID on your phone you don’t need to put in memorable information, so for those people that put in the ridiculous reviews about not being able to put in their information maybe they should just update their phones as there’s nothing wrong with the app.

Moved to Halifax some years ago now and always been happy with service so when my granddaughter turned 11 and wanted a bank account we went into the Preston branch to arrange it. A very helpful Indian chap had to ask a black supervisor about it (Meera? Something like that). She was dismissive to the point of rudeness to him and to us. It apparently has to be done “on line” and a future appointment made. The appointment duly came a couple of Saturdays later but we went into HSBC the same day who accommodated us immediately and put a little of the joy back into the occasion. Not been back to the branch, and wouldn’t want to. Very poor.

I have tried deleting cookies/ cache, uninstalling and reinstalling all, yet since switching from my previous bank recently to Halifax I have had frequent signing in issues. The app rarely allows me to sign in, states that the Halifax is experiencing technical problems and to try signing in later. From the recent reviews on the App Store it appears an issue plaguing others. Very unreliable and I’m very disappointed considering I’ve just switched banks from a previous building society who’s own app always stated they were experiencing technical problems. I wonder if Halifax and Nationwide use similar tech? Two stars for user friend UI, yet really is a 1 star experience. As soon as I get my offer money for the switch will try a different bank and undertake a bit more research on my part.

Very annoyed that I have to keep speaking to the fraud team in regards to buying crypto from the same places regularly, it still gets flagged up.
I also spend a lot of time in Bulgaria as have a second home there and it will allow me to buy stuff which is always from the same local stores and then for no reason it will block my payments when paying for my shopping etc with no warning, even though I have probably been to the shops multiple times for days.
I have been on the phone to the fraud team so many times it’s a joke. I have explained that I purchase crypto which are only small payments and I still get issues.
I was shopping yet again in Bulgaria two days ago with my two young children, one being only 6 months old and Halifax decided to not let me make my payment at the local supermarket. It’s so stressful and embarrassing and keeps happening even though they are already aware.
I’m so fed up with it now, i am currently transferring over to Monzo. Had this issue with Halifax for years and they basically said tough.

Good app, but missing instant transaction notifications for credit card customers

In general this is a great app. I highly recommend it.
There is one feature, however, that I would wish for that i feel is missing in the app. There are no instant transaction notifications for your credit cards. Many other banks have a feature were you are notified instantly when money goes into and leaves your credit card account. This is an essential feature these days especially where fraud is so common, as we can then spot unusual transactions instantly rather than having to check the app manually all the time. This feature seems to be available for your debit cards, but is missing for your credit cards. I do hope that you can add this feature in the near future.
In general the notifications function doesn’t appear to work at all on my phone. And I’ve never been notified of anything through your app. (I have all the right settings on my phone checked to allow notifications). I should add that I only have a credit card with you and no debit cards.
I would also like to see notifications when a new letter/ message comes into my account from you. That would also be very useful.
Other than the missing notifications it’s a very good app. Thankyou.

After being randomly chosen by a scam my account was paused by the fraud team, as a security measure.
After trying to remember my password, memorable info and security details I was locked out of my account for putting my details in too many times. I rang customer service but they were unable to help. Still locked out. Went into my local branch, the staff were lovely but after 2 hours putting my correct details in I was still non the wiser. Tried all ways to get into my account with the staff member. Locked out again and again.
Next staff rang customer services they were unable to help. Thought Id try one more time via customer services. The assistant took me through the same procedure many times. So surprised and daunted when he said he couldn’t help me any further??
For the next 6 months I had to go into the local branch to do my banking. This was OK but my branch suddenly closed with no notice. The next town branch also closed so if I needed a bank I would have to go on a bus which took 1 hour and cost £8.50.
After 6 months with no access to my account and messages, via my phone. I decided to bank with First Direct. Help is available 24/7 and I have only one password to remember which is short and easy to remember. The staff are amazing!
It’s a shame about the Halifax as I had been a long term customer and the staff in the banks were always great.
Since joining First Direct 3 months ago my banking has been easy and problem free.

Brilliant - thank you Halifax!

Was very tentative in switching banks as had been with my previous one (HSBC) for over 20+ years. However, as the CASS has made switching so easy I decided to bite the bullet. Wow. Firstly the switch itself was as smooth as silk - really would recommend any other banking dinosaurs out there like me to go for it, it is so, so easy. But the new account and app I’m now using are just light years ahead of what I’d grown used to with HSBC. It honestly feels like one of those stories of someone who has lived in a cave for many years but has then stepped out into the light, barely able to believe how much better everything is. Only 1 week into the switch and the account and app are just brilliant. Thanks Halifax!

1. Well done on finally making it available for people to write a review on the app rather than taking people to another tab on the internet.
2. It’s a very straight forward app, so well done because it’s easy as to use and so quick to transfer people money or check where my moneys gone.
3. On my debit card bit it says check upcoming payments but on the credit card bit it doesn’t so I’d make that available to the credit card you know so I can see when I’ve got upcoming payments and also it would be nice if you’d let me know when you’re gonna charge interest on the credit card app as I’ve clicked on before not expecting money to be taking off and then it’s on the minus so just a heads up would be great. Need to know out else just giz a ring, youse have got my number, toodle x

Version 104.03
I’m honestly scared to log out of my account because they never clearly state what they will ask you to do when you sign back in. I write down all of my passwords and usernames and even I can’t bloody understand what they’re trying to get me to do. I’ve been logged out of my account several times because my “memorable information” is incorrect. Instead of literally asking you to just write down what the memorable information is they ask you for specific characters of it, which for me as a discalcular person is a nightmare, I keep doing it wrong and frustrating myself and the people around me again and again. This has happened several times.
Also we need a display name, I cannot use my chosen name on the app which makes me hate even opening it up and repeatedly putting in all of my now wrong legal details a nightmare too.
It’s an app for people who understand technology and are not scared to call up some random automated robot over and over again. I don’t recommend it, I hate mobile banking in general.

Upcoming payments

I’ve always written a list each month of payment due out of my account for the month ahead. When I saw the upcoming payment first added to the Halifax mobile banking app I thought great, I no longer need to worry about a missed DD or standing order.
Since I first started using it I’ve notice money coming out that wasn’t accounted for on the upcoming payments, I thought maybe these companies are taking money earlier than expected. After totalling up my DD & standing orders due out, I’ve noticed upcoming payments doesn’t add them all, quite a few were missing off. If like me you rely on it due to a tight budget then I’d just keep an eye on what’s coming out yourself rather than rely on the app, I’ve been left in sticky situations a couple of times.
Come on Halifax, it’s a brilliant idea but has flaws that can leave customers struggling.

It’s fine for banking day to day but as soon as you need support their lines are useless. I been hung up on by their robot so many times. Also… the rewards and cashback sections in app are terrible. Try and see if your reward extras are on track and constantly get “sorry somethings gone wrong” and generic error messages. Halifax are really going down hill to be honest. I’m really sad and disappointed in them as a loyal customer who has been with them 10+ years and has a mortgage it really feels like they’re dropped the ball and fallen behind better digital alternatives. It’s a mess. Sort out the rewards and cashback sections also sort out your support teams. I can’t believe that when I needed help with my mortgage your system just said “sorry we’re busy” and then hung up over and over. Whoever signed that off should be fired. Treat your customers better halifax!

Dear App Developer!
Hopefully you’ll be able to fix this issue? For many months I have had a Red Number 6 on the Halifax - Home Screen Icon and, next to the “Messages Us” tab that starts a chat with the virtual assistant. I have spoken with the Online Banking Support about this but they are unable to help, I have also deleted the App then, recreated it and re-registered my phone/device but, the number is still there and implying that I have “Unread” Messages! This is very annoying! Is it possible to provide a “tab” with the option to “Completely Delete” the entire chat history? Or at least, mark all messages as “Read!” If there’s another way or I’m missing something, please let me know … Thank you.

The app will do periodic "security checks" where it will decline a card payment, just to "check it’s you", but if you don’t have your phone to see the app, and you know you haven’t used the tap limit, you just presume your card is knackered or your account has been cleared out. There was no prior warning that this might happen, or notice, just suddenly happens out of nowhere. If i delete the app, will this prevent the same thing happening or will it just block my card until I call the bank? Who’s idea was this, and what manner of tragedy occurred to allow the village idiot to start implementing procedures?

I’ve had the Halifax app for a few years but for the last few months, the app crashes a lot saying technical difficulty or no internet connection but there is, I often find the app plays up more when out and about and when needing access to my banking app it’s says a lot technical difficulty.
I deleted the app and reinstall a few times but this dose not help and am always looking for updates to update the app itself.
I also noticed notifications are really very slow, tells you if money has come in gone out (such as paying bills) it’s very rare it on time it’s always like a couple of hours behind.
Other than the problems I’ve discovered the app is good but I would recommend doing what you need to do online wise before going out as that when I find most of the problems.

I’ve just recently moved over to Halifax from another bank. I love the fact that each time I make a payment or money goes into my account I immediately get a an alert on my phone. This helps me to keep track of my transactions and know when a payment I have just made has gone through successfully. Brilliant feature.
The only downside I can see so far is that a ‘quick balance check’ isn’t available as it was with my previous bank which was a simple feature that showed my balance without me having to login to the app, I really miss that, and as another reviewer said, I hope Halifax will consider introducing this feature - it would definitely make it a 5 star rating.

Having my Halifax banking app has made my life so much easier. Although I’m somewhat of a technophobe, once I’d mastered my way round the app (which is extremely easy & very user friendly) it’s become a lifeline for me. I can pay my bills easily, shop online easily, transfer money easily, keep an eye on my account & balance easily, in fact the app even notifies me when I’ve made a payment or if a utility bill is higher than the previous month!! It’s incredible.
The customer care team are fabulous & you can always find help or access someone to talk too from the bank should you need too.
Even creating a new account from the app is easy to do & understand.
I’m over the moon with this app.
Thank you x

The app works really well and is easy to navigate. It’s the notifications that need a bit of work. I find banking app notifications really helpful - especially for payments due that you may have forgotten about. Unfortunately, the notifications on this app are a bit behind! Make a transfer and it will send you the notification immediately. But when it comes to other notifications they are usually a day or two late. Example: I get my “direct debit due” notifications the day AFTER they’ve already been taken. Luckily, I’ve always got the funds to cover them but it would be helpful to get the notifications before they come out, not after!
Other than that, the app is great 😃👍

I’ve used the Halifax banking app for 5 years now and I haven’t had a single complaint in all those years. It continuously updates to keep up with society and to support more proficient online banking. It’s great!
Two suggestions I have would be to consider integrating a categorised monthly oversight. This is where we can see how and where we are spending most of our money and it helps us save better. Also, it’s a nice feature many banking apps are now offering, which I think best attracts the new technology generation. 2nd suggestion would be a quick-view widget for iphones, which allows us to rapidly check our balance in our quick search, rather than having to actually log into online banking. Saves time. And always keeps us aware of overdraft.
I have currently have another account with another UK bank, and i frequently ponder leaving them and putting all my accounts under Halifax. However, their monthly oversight feature and quick-view holds me back from leaving. So please consider these things Halifax!

I absolutely hate this frustrating app. I once gave a good review but that was a long time ago and i can’t even log on to see my account! My password not working and when i get a new password or something memorable is that the same because it doesn’t work either way when i try it out especially this time of the year! And there’s so many bugs it’s beyond annoying!
I type in memorable information, then when asked to do it twice it won’t let me put the same text or numbers!
I’m going back to using the automated phone, if that’s allowed! Or maybe you can’t access your monetary details without having a microchip implanted in your four head and have it scanned by an official before being denied because of a technical error or try again in 24hrs to get it right or its off to the Gulag! To Hell with Halifax and all global banking systems working together to mark life more frustrating for the ordinary people you despise

Impossible to make a payment if you use voice-over

For some reason, whenever I try to make a payment, a dialogue box comes up giving me the choice to stay or leave and no matter what I do, I can’t get rid of it. I know for a fact that I am not the only person who is experiencing problems and that it is not just the Halifax banking app that has the issue, in fact, my husband uses Lloyds and he is having exactly the same problem. If you do not use voice-over and you are not visually impaired, the app works just fine, but don’t try and make a payment of any kind if you are a voice-over user, because it is impossible. They need to sort this out, but the waiting times on the phone are so diabolical, that it seems that this is the only way to maybe get something done. We tried the support option in the app, but that is also very inaccessible.

If this is the way it has to be.

It’s sad that we are being pushed into online banking, on line shopping, on line paying of our bills, on line complaining. Technology is amazing nowadays and this HBOS application is no exception. It’s also cheaper than a person to employ.
Shops are closing, people are losing their jobs because technology is moving in and does not need so many people. Even social skills are being eroded because of the impersonality of social networking and everything we have to do on line.
There’s just about no reason to go out of the door now unless you are the sort of person that likes to go to the pub, those pubs that are left.
However, this particular banking app is excellent but not as good as passing a moments time of day as a counter clerk is.

Almost there.

From the online banking apps I find it easy to use and much more responsive after the update and facelift if you prefer.
The only downfall is that it just doesn’t seem to be as responsive to let you know when you have received a transfer or pay check. The notification seems to arrive 10-12 hours after that payment has been made. I have been thinking about it for months and it has never improved.
Tho contrast you get the notification when you send money within a second.
Maybe you could work on that, as for some people maybe it is important to know clearly when they have been paid, rather than having to keep opening the app several times.

So if someone has taken money out of your account without u knowing you get a notification, you can move your money about so easily! I personally love it and will never leave, I feel very safe with this app , you can do so much with it, you can have different accounts and name them what ever you personally like , such as “holiday fund” so you can move money into that account that your saving for and several more accounts that u can personally name , I just can’t praise the Halifax enough , and that’s why my heading is “excellence” 💓Geraldine

Before the new update, I would have given the app 5 Stars, but now I don’t even think it deserves any stars at all with the new update!! Why have you changed it?!!! It’s so confusing now, & we have to work out how much money is available, which I still don’t understand how to do it! So, me & my hubby have to go out to the atm to check exactly how much we have available which is totally unacceptable, isn’t Internet Banking supposed to be the reason of not having to travel to your nearest atm??!! Before the update, it was so easy to understand, knowing just how much we had available, especially when in the overdraft. Now that is really confusing!! Before, it showed your available balance including how much you had available in the overdraft. How do we work it out now!! Me & hubby are so angry at the fact that you have made this STUPID update as we now have to go out to our atm to double check how much we have available in the overdraft, & after pending! Or is that we’re both thick??!! Please change it back to how it was!! Why fix it when it’s not broken??!!! THIS IS THE MOST STUPID, IDIOTIC, RIDICULOUS, VERY CONFUSING new update ever!!!!!!!!

Would of normally given 5 stars but the new update is ridiculous you can’t actually see your actual bank balance on screen you have to work out how much you have spent or how much money you have in the bank, when I sign into my account online I shouldn’t have to work out how much money I have I just should be able to see my balance, the whole point of having internet banking is so you don’t have to go to the atm machine and check how much you have got, but now with this update you still need to go to the atm to check your balance because online it doesn’t tell how much you money you have after any pending transactions, the account balance will stay the same which can also be very misleading, don’t like the new way the update is it needs to go back to show you your actual balance, it was less confusing and simple without the new update, I would of given 5 stars if it was the old version, but only have rated 2 because the new version is ridiculous, needs to be changed.

I’m not some kind of ‘fuddy duddy’ I’m 36/born in 83, and I’m pretty tech savvy but if you’d told 8 year old commodore Amiga600 obsessed me one day we’ll all have phones in our pockets, that you can deal with the bank, take photos, share videos, have access to unlimited info on every topic you can think of, in fact you can do pretty much anything, all on a phone about the size of a KitKat, oooo, and it’s many thousands of times more powerful than the Amiga you love, id of looked you dead in the eyes and demanded you stop with your lies! The apps brilliant, I use to do all my banking in person, in a branch and wasn’t interested in any other way, but after seeing my sister do everything with never visiting a branch I had to try it! Obviously I don’t want people to loose there jobs but I won’t be visiting a branch any time soon! MJ

After avoiding online banking, after been scammed many years ago and loosing £6k,(which I got back but waited nearly 2 months for it). I was really dubious, about going back to online banking. This app is amazing, it saves me having to go to the cash point, a zillion times a week to check my balance, and now I have the iPhone X with facial recognition, I don’t have to answer all the questions to get into my account, saving me stacks of time, in my busy and hectic life. Halifax have been The best bank I’ve ever had, and this app just backs up the amazing service they’ve given me over the last 15 years !!!
So easy to use, great for bank transfers, runs smoothly all the time, with no glitches, or gremlins. I used another bank briefly and came back to the Halifax as soon as possible. Their online site is clear, informative and easy to use. For me the most important item is ‘pending items’. This means I know exactly how much I have in my account. The other bank was unable to be as accurate as the Halifax. I value that it is so important. It is also a good looking site which is important as I have discovered. Again this matters. Dealing with ones own finances can be stressful so it is good when your site looks good and is easy to use. Believe me, I speak from the experience of having used a very poor site and being constantly stressed. It is such a pleasure to be back with the Halifax.

Having banked with the Halifax for many years - albeit on two separate occasions I am now struggling to find good reason to stay as a Halifax customer today.
I ended my first period as a customer in 2008 during the financial crash after studying the behaviour of the banks top management. Then after a short break away I decided to give the new management a chance to show how they had improved services. However, I my optimism has slowly been eroded . First I was confronted by the Flintstones then came Dorothy and her Yellow Brick Road. Next came the dancing spring. The final insult to my intelligence came when my local branch became an almost faceless brick wall with machines set in to the masonry!!
What next?

I’ve never had any problems with this app unless it’s got a few bug fixes but most of the time I don’t notice any issues. Transfers are easy as well as adding a new person to pay. I’ve set up a few other accounts view the app and it’s been super easy and never been a problem either. The only things I’d suggest to make it a better experience is to remove the other bank ads on your main page and put them elsewhere instead.. your main page you just want to see your own stuff without any other stuff on it. The old style as well, we use to be able to swipe left and right to the different accounts too, it’ll be nice to have that feature back. Lastly, it’ll be good to choose the order you want to see your accounts in. For example, some people might want to see their DD as their first account or some people may prefer seeing their CC as the first thing they look at. Choosing the order would allow better arrangements for managing money

I was dreading having to find all the passwords, security questions I set up over £20 years ago that I never quite get right. A card reader pen paper and phone. Barclays Bank is so antiquated I still get cheque books and the cards to my account are years out of date. I don’t know how they are still trading. Add to that the anxiety and stress it caused every time I used it. Thank goodness my brain had a tiny moment of clarity when this service became available and I actually did something about it.
They last five minutes have made me a very happy bunny.
Thank you Halifax!
I’ve just got to find away of stopping my ESA going into the post office. It was ok when I was able to get out. Now i have to wait ages till one of my children has enough time to get the money out and bring it to me or put it in their account and transfer it to mine , which looks very dodgy especially when they are trying to save up for a deposit on a house.
I hope there is a solution to this very soon.
IF ANYONE IS ACTUALLY READING THIS AND THERE IS A WAY TO DO IT, you will be making the lives of five people a lot easier.
Thank you.
For once , extremely happy to write a review. Provided it has worked of course. Then it has taken me a great deal of time, left me exhausted and in a great deal of pain that even morphine does not lessen.
Fingers crossed and touching wood!

I actually went into my local bank who helped me set everything up and was very helpful so once I got home I knew exactly how to use the app. I find this app very easy to use and I can check my bank balance when ever I want. It's also good to use to transfer money from one account to the other. I like it because I can make sure that all bills have been paid and I can check that I have enough money in my account to pay them with out even having to leave the house. I also can set up a direct debit into my children’s bank accounts each week for there pocket money. It also has lots of cash back places. I highly recommend.

Generally I like this app as it meets all my banking needs. My problem is since the update the app no longer works on my phone. Which is why you have lost 2 stars for lack of testing. I have an iPhone 6s and the app will not load pass the splash screen. It launches, shows the logo for 2 seconds then closes. I know you’ll get this sorted, just currently annoyed. Hopefully I don’t need to wait too long for a fix.
It did make me realised how convenient this app has been for me. I been with Halifax since I was 12 and improvements the company have been making on the digital side makes it so that I don’t see me changing in the mere future. Mobile banking is the way forward. Just less crashes please.

What I like about the app:
I think the online banking app is extremely helpful as i can access my balance straight away instead of walking all the way to a cash point. I also like the fact that I can transfer any amount to someone on the go.
What I dislike about the app:
I dislike the fact that you cannot access the app without internet which is not useful as some people may not be fortunate enough to have internet or may not be able to check their balance without the internet in an emergency situation where they may need to check it.
What you could improve on:
I think that you should bring a new feature to the app, such as being able to access savings (ISA accounts) on the app and saving the accounts to the online banking app so that you can transfer money to the account automatically or save money to the account. I also think that another feature that could be added is financial advice on saving strategies should be added, for example; saving plans or set amount that should be put in daily/weekly/monthly. Another thing that should also be added is being able to access the app offline as well as online. These are the reasons why I have rated the 3/5 stars.

Still doesn’t work properly

I closed my current account with Halifax, primarily because I got tired of dealing with this app. However I’ve kept my credit card. It’s been several months since, and it still more often than not doesn’t show me any credit card transactions, either displaying an error message or populating each field with “N/A”. It’s completely useless. I’m pretty much tied into keeping this card, because I’ve recently bought a house and have made a lot of credit applications, but as soon as my credit score is restored, I will be ditching this card and finally ridding myself of this app once and for all.
It’s a real shame because the team behind the app made huge improvements over the really old web container version. But it seems like they’ve just downed tools since then and called it a job done.

Keeps crashing when trying to open, every time after update

I never write reviews for anything but Halifax I really hope your app team read reviews for constructive feedback to fix things asap.
Every single time this app is automatically updated, for about 2-3 days afterwards it just will not open. I will tap it and the first starting screen comes up, and then it just goes back off again onto my home screen like it has crashed and won’t boot.
This happens every single time and it is such a pain to then have to go onto the mobile web version and put in all my details again (after having to find all this info again because I can’t remember numbers well) when I need to check my balance, which is atleast a few times everyday. It is such a huge inconvenience having to do this to check my balance before making payments when outside in shops, so I’m stood there waiting for the web version to load and put everything in with my shopping/items because this app won’t work when it updates.
I keep thinking with new updates it will be fixed so I allow it, but it never seems to change.
I am using an iPhone 7 with the latest version of IOS and this keeps happening. Please, please PLEASE fix this!! My phone does not do this for any other apps and is working perfectly fine otherwise!!!

Recently I have attempted to sign in and been greeted with technical problem screens. Whilst I appreciate this could be security issues that the site is experiencing and it is for our own safety that they are restricting access, that doesn’t help when one needs to make a payment or worse still move money from one account to another F in London such as today and needing to make a purchase or have some extra money to hand. Between this appalling app and the money Halifax are spending on their advertising campaigns with TopCat and now Wizard of Oz, I am after 30 years looking for an alternative bank. Why not, after all the Halifax paying people to move to them but not looking after the people who would been with them all this time, the app technical problems is the final nail in the coffin

Clear and simple to use.

I like this app a lot. I’d like to be able to search for transactions, eg search for electricity bills or Tesco’s etc. It could make budgeting easier for a lot of people. I also am struggling to find contact details for some of the benefits like phone insurance, I need to register a newish phone but I can’t find the contact details online. I love how easy it is to check my statements online and to be able to see pending payments is very helpful. It’s clear and easy to use. I’ve banked with the Halifax for almost 40 years and always been happy with them. My card was cloned a good few years ago, just before Christmas. They gave me a huge overdraft and I didn’t lose a penny. They were fab! All in all I would recommend the Halifax to family and friends,

I absolutely cannot fault the customer service that I have received from Halifax over the 20 or do years that I have banked with them. It is absolutely second to none. Every single advisor has been helpful and if they have done as much as they possible can, I am always put on to a senior advisor who resolves any issue. I have never been left feeling frustrated or annoyed: Halifax has always acted quickly and courteously to ensure customer satisfaction and confidence. I wouldn’t dream of banking with anyone else and all of the little incentives that have come up over the years from other banks to join, would have never stood up to the excellent quality of service I have consistently experienced. Thank you to every member of the Halifax team who have taken care of all of my financial needs.

I generally find the app excellent I have an iPhone 7 and use my finger print to log into the app. I’m finding that when I want to log into my account I touch the icon on the screen the app opens with the Halifax splash screen appearing on my screen and then asks me to press my finger on the home button. When I put my finger on the home button the app registers that I have touched the finger print recognition and immediately the the Halifax screen shrinks down and resumes being an icon on the screen. I then have to retouch the icon the Halifax screen then reappears along with the circular timer icon and then hopefully after a moment my account details appear. I have been finding that I just get the Halifax splash screen at times and the timer progress icon just goes round and round with no account details appearing.

Slow to open but otherwise good

I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now and while most of its functionality is great I get extremely frustrated at the “authenticating your device” splash screen. The app has my sign in information and needs my fingerprint to open it so why does it also need to authenticate my device every time? It’s not like I’m running a new device. Speed this waste of time up!
The functionality of the transfers and speed of banking transactions is really good and so is the interface. It keeps things simple but perhaps keeping regular banking components together on a single menu would be handy. The new Cheques Beta is in completely the wrong place in my opinion and should be one of the options on the main screen since it is (in my opinion) the most important thing to happen to cheques since their inception. Make a bigger deal of it and allow people to actually test the function rather than hiding it and telling no one about it. I only found out about it because a member of my local branch staff pointed me towards it (currently in the drop down menu, top right of the main screen)
The app is going in the right direction but needs a bit of jiggling to put things in better places.
