Description
Video 2 Photo allows you to export one or more high quality photos from your videos (and Live Photos) in a quick, fun and original way.
Why would you do that?
* Sometimes you hesitate between taking a photo or a video. Take a video! thanks to 'Video 2 Photo' you can now extract from your video as many images as you like!
* Taking 'The' good picture of an object, animal or person that moves is almost impossible. With 'Video 2 Photo' this becomes feasible.
* You have inadvertently recorded a video when you wanted to take a picture. With 'Video 2 Photo' you can finally recover photos from this video.
* Taking a picture of yourself is always difficult. With 'Video 2 Photo' you can choose exactly the right image that suits you best.
* You need a precise tool to export multiple consecutive photos and use them with another application.
* Choose a representative picture of your best videos and put it as wallpaper or print it in order to have it always with you.
* Have fun watching your favorite movies frame by frame and find the little detail that you had never seen before.
Videos can be imported from your device in several ways.
You can also connect your iDevice to iTunes in order to drag and drop other videos (iTunes file sharing feature).
The camera can be used directly to record a video in order to extract the images quickly thereafter.
An animated and original interface allows you to precisely select a picture from all the ones contained in the video.
It is also possible to view the video (possibly in full screen) and to directly target a specific time.
Once the image is selected, you will be able to view it (possibly in full screen), to eventually crop it (keeping the most interesting part of it) and to export it (to PNG, JPEG or HEIC files) in different ways:
- archive it in the camera roll of your iDevice
- send it by email
- retrieve it via iTunes file sharing (or the File app)
- copy it (and thus paste it into other applications)
- print it
- open it directly in another application supporting image import.
- and even send it as a tweet or to facebook !
HD Images exported using Video 2 Photo have the highest possible resolution and quality.
Their resolution being the exact same one than the videos they are extracted from (a 1920 x 1080 video will produce 1920 x 1080 images)
If needed, some power user settings, located in the settings application, allows to change some parameters like the output file format (png/jpeg/heic), the associated meta-data, and some behaviors of the application.
You will find the original and intuitive user interface, common to all our videos applications.
These applications have been featured many times by Apple and various websites.
This application can run, on your iPhone and your iPad, as a standalone application, or as an Action Extension (from the compatible applications like the Photo app).
Portrait and Landscape orientations are supported in all screens.

Here are the changes since last time:
• Ability to navigate back by swiping the finger from the left side of the screen.
• Ability to visually select the start and stop frames in the batch export screen.
• In the video selection screen: you can preview the video, get information and access options (such as delete) by pressing and holding down a video thumbnail.
• When selecting a video, a cloud icon is now displayed under the thumbnail, if the video must be downloaded before opening it.
• When the video is opened from the Files application (or file selector), it is no longer temporarily duplicated internally.
• When selecting the image, it is now possible to target a specific time or image number (by clicking on the image number at the bottom right of the screen).
• Improved support for exotic videos (bitrate / framerate / clean aperture / pixel aspect ratio related improvements).
• Fix to avoid a delay before the video selection screen is displayed when there are a lot of videos to display.
• Smaller fixes and improvements.

Brilliant for capturing the moment
I love this app and use it all the time - brilliant for capturing moments when you want everyone in the picture. Just prop the phone up, take a video, grab the shot you want. Also great for getting action shots.

With the advent of 4K video taking useable stills from video is really worth doing these days. They print up to A3 well and this app makes it so easy to get the frame you want.

Fantastic Quality
I have tested a few aps that offer this extract a still image and this has to be by far the best i have seen. 1280x720 still = a 2.48mb PNG. This is as good as it gets and as one user already said, apple should buy this and make it part of iOs features.

Choose the best photo from your video. You'll always find one good photo to keep. Never have a spoiled photo again. Excellent!

This app is really simple to use but is very effective. You simply chose the video you want to have in a photo then it produces all of the brilliant photos. It also has a perfectly simple way to save or share the picture just by clicking on it. All in all: worth the download 😃

This App enables you to select a video from your camera roll and to scrub through at normal speed or frame by frame to select the frame you want to capture as a photo.
Sliding the frame of the video either left or right enables you to move 1 frame at a time.
When you are happy with the image you just tap it and you get the option to output the photo to camera roll or to email, twitter and more.
The interface is very simple to use and is nicely done.
This is a very useful App and I find that as time goes by I'm using it more as when I look at videos playing back I am mindful of the fact that if I see a nice moment in the video scene I can capture it as a photo.

Exactly what I wanted!
For the past 4 weeks I've wanted to catch my new born smiling (even though I now there caused by wind!) timing this has proved intermittent but with this app I just take a video then capture as many images as I want from that one video, well worth the £1.49 to capture some amazing moments :)

Brilliant.
Does exactly what it says and does it phenomenally well. I shot a two second slo mo video, fed it into "video 2 photo" and ended up with over 1500 potential hi res photos, all ready to save to camera roll etc.
I can't praise this app highly enough.

Great concept & well executed
I found this by chance because I was looking for a way to save frames from my videos as photos (on iPod touch). It's so good I've now bought it for 4 people! Set up is very clear and straightforward and it just works really well. Highly recommended!
