Very poor

I used to refer to the old Autosport app nearly every day, but no longer. This app is so so so slow it is like watching paint dry waiting for stories to load up. And then you find half of them are behind a pay wall. Come on Autosport, you can do better than this. And if you can’t then give up!

IT department..hello is anyone there?

Dear Autosport magazine app people. You do exist I assume as you have created this app. Were you wiped out / fired / eaten by zombies.

I love your magazine. So much that I have to reinstall it every time I want to read it. You push my patience. Does it change. No. I go to the app ~ sometimes the magazine appears, sometimes it doesn’t. This time just a grey square with the spinning wheel symbol. You have to be kidding.

Put down your pipes, down that pint of bitter, stop reminiscing about Giles Villeneuve to the landlord and get on the blower to someone who can do something, anything to make this more user friendly.

Why the vertical margin

The new look magazine is not using entire width of the screen, leaving a grey margin on each page. I seriously wonder why I continue to subscribe to a digital magazine that has been poor for years

Cannot access subscription

Have to agree with other reviews. Have not been able to access subscription since it renewed. Great magazine let down by poor app and service.

Probably the worst customer service in the World!

Hey again I cannot retrieve the subscription I have paid for. Says too many devices logged in, well I only have one device.

Same problem I had 6 weeks ago, same lack of response, they still take the cash and refuse to acknowledge a request for a refund.

Bring back The Internet Site

This site used to be really good. It doesn’t work at all. now. I get it with my magazine subscription. I will cancel that if you don’t get the old site up and running again.

Great mag, but buy print version to avoid the (lack of) support

Can't fault the journalism, which is great, and when the app works, it is fine, but when it doesn't, you are on your own, bro. The support team are not interested, to the extent of not bothering to read emails, and sending out boilerplate replies claiming the usual high volume excuse. The app periodically loses the sub via the app store, and if that happens, you are toast. Support will ignore you at all costs and vaping and reinstalling doesn't work, so if this common bug hits you, and you have a year's subscription, wave goodbye to it. By comparison, the print version arrives by snailmail ™ every week, come rain, wind, or shine.

This is a frustrating app as the 'buy' journey (of a new edition) regularly fails even though the 2.99 has been taken by Apple. Eventually the magazine is downloaded

I like Apple and Autosport, but together with this app....it just doesn't work. It's a glorified download of a PDF, nothing more. Also unreliable.

Autoshort'n'sweet

A great addition to an already great magazine. When you need short and concise Motorsport news and you can't wait until the next Autosport publication, this is the ideal app.

Good, When it eventually updates!

Don't get me wrong, this is a great app for a great magazine. It's just it doesn't always have the new issues until later in the day and that doesn't work for me and my wi fi only iPad because I like to download it to read at work. Other than that it's good.

Suits Retina

I was a loyal Autosport paper copy reader until I got my IPad 3rd gen, suits the retina display very well with added video links on some articles good zoom very clear, all in all very happy with this App, £2.99 per issue so it's even cheaper than the paper copy and you get more content, Very pleased Autosport reader:-)))

Not free for print subscribers

Absurd that this isn't free for print subscribers like all other quality publications. Smacks of profiteering, particularly when it is simply a exact facsimile of the print edition with no added features.

Not good enough

I bought an electronic copy as my print subscription and I was interested in saving space around home. Unfortunately what has been released appears to be little more than the pre-print work up down by the layout guys with a page turning tool and occasional (handheld) video content. Major flaws include

No optimisation for iPad. It is little more than a PDF of the magazine with very little extra content. Even the ads are flat! Some more videos and links wouldn't go amiss.

No proper zoom function - the articles are exceedingly difficult to read at standard length, and the zoom function appears to be worse than Safari's ie it does not "stick" to the article you're reading, meaning you double tap and are then pinching around the page. Even implementing a simple article zoom like in the Comix which follows the flow of the page logically would be a huge improvement.

No way to get an Autosport plus account by buying it purely online. It's weird that buying it online means you can't get the Autosport plus stuff whereas if you buy the paper copy you can get the autosport plus online content and free digital copy.

All in all there's potential, but until they sort out the above I'd avoid it and just get the print copy. Developers, just look at the BMJ and Guardian apps to see how it should be done.
