Description

The Yorkshire Post Newspaper app brings you full colour PDF versions of Yorkshire’s national newspaper and every newspaper supplement, all presented in pristine detail and designed to be enjoyed on your tablet device.
Updated early each morning six days a week, the app gives you the opportunity to read the full edition of the paper and its supplements over breakfast, or download them for offline reading later.
In the app’s archive, you get access to full PDF versions of the paper for the past 30 days, including every supplement.
The supplements include:
• The Magazine
• Sports Monday
• Business Tuesday and Business Thursday
• Property Post
• Life and Style
• Culture
• Country Week
• Motoring
When viewing a paper or supplement, you can pinch and zoom to enlarge the pages and articles, swipe through or jump to the next or other pages, use the search functionality to find specific articles, and view full pages either in single page portrait or double page spread landscape mode.
In addition, the app features the latest news from YorkshirePost.co.uk, updated throughout the day and including photo slideshows and videos, which can all be shared on social media.

The Yorkshire Post Newspaper app brings you the very best in news, sport, entertainment, other features and more from Yorkshire and the UK, with full daily editions exactly as printed.
The Yorkshire Post Newspaper app is free for 30 days and then available through monthly subscription which is auto-renewing and priced at £7.99 per month. This gives access to both the digital content and the paper editions within the app
.Payment for this subscription will be charged to your iTunes account upon purchase. The subscription will auto-renew within 24 hours of the current subscription expiring. Auto-renewing subscriptions can be managed via Account Settings allowing them to be turned off. No cancellations of the current subscription are allowed during the active subscription period.

BRILLIANT APP - TWO BIG PROBLEMS ! ! !

(1) PITY YOU NEED TO DELETE THIS APP EVERY FEW WEEKS TO FREE UP SPACE by
getting rid of accumulated old issues.
(2) YAWN YAWN - Still unable to complete
crosswords and sudoku using the App.
Excellent app makes full use of the iPads incredible retina display and zoom facilities.
The ability to see full pages - just as the printed paper - make this App the best that I have seen - allowing you to browse through each edition and then easily pick out & read the items that are of particular interest.
The one improvement I would like to see (for *****) would be the ability to complete sudoku & crossword puzzles within the app.
The Daily Telegraph App does this very well.
p.s. It's a pity the rest of the DT App is completely fails to make
such good use of the iPads retina display and zoom facilities.

What is happening with the update?

First it didn't work, then it did, now it's not working. So frustrating...
30/12/15 - continuing saga it's still not loading. Please can I have access to version 2.0? At least that worked.
23/01/16: got it sussed, you have to hold the iPad in portrait for the app to open. Then you can turn it to landscape to read.

Terrible

Can I be the only person using this app? Constantly crashes and now since latest iOS will not even load. Avoid.

Unreliable

Potentially a nice app but very unreliable. For example, where is today's edition (Thurs 20th)? Also, the latest version will just not provide a download of the daily - a pain if you are on travels with a wifi only iPad.

Missing sections

For the second Saturday running the sports section is not available on the online "paper". This is what I would call a necessity in a weekend edition. Does not always load properly. This does not encourage me to continue with a paid subscription after the 30 day trial.

One problem

I really like this app, but it has one downfall. At least once a week there is no paper ( today for example) or it doesn't appear until later in the day. Please sort this out ASAP .

Problem with app

I have had this app now for 8 days, idea is great unfortunately I can't view the newspaper version as it fails to load in the morning. It generally appears late in the day but sometimes doesn't arrive at all. The digital version loads just after midnight, but it is not within a million miles of the sky version so not worth paying for. Come on sort it out it will be then worth paying for.
I am adding an update to my review. Am now getting the paper along with a subscription package which gives me 25% off my daily paper and the free app. Since the update works really well.

Full paper not available sat aug 25

The full version of the paper was not available today. Only the main paper of 18 pages was available on line. Usually the full paper is downloadable.
There is no way to report this problem except via a review.

Great App

As a reader for the Yorkshire Post for a number of years, I was sorry when I was no longer able to purchase the paper on a daily basis. What a treat then that I can now keep up to date with all the regional news from this great product anywhere in the world.
What's more, the app is really easy to use and navigate with some really interesting video features. It's an added bonus that you can view the full paper as printed; it feels like you've actually got the newspaper in your hands!
Overall, it's a fantastic product and I'd recommend it to anyone, particularly those that don't have access to the physical newspaper.

Disappointing

Advertised as freeapp today so deleted original app which would not load and guess what asked for £7.99 subscription and still would not load. Yorkshire Post have not replied to e-mail. Total waste of time.

Waste Of Time

The newspaper version just doesn't download - I still have the one from the day I installed the app! E-mails to support on the matter are seemingly ignored and remain unanswered. Whilst the digital version does eventually update it doesn't have the content of the print edition. On the whole it's all fairly pointless and you're much better off just visiting the Yorkshire Post website instead.

Problem loading

This is the second day I've been trying to load the app, just won't load. All I get is the Yorkshire Post sponsored by East Coast page and the wheel gluing round and round trying to load.

What a shame....

Was really looking forward to reading the Yorkshire Post on the IPad but this is poor. Why don't people realise that an app should add value to a product and be enjoyable. This achieves neither and makes reading the newspaper hard work. Reading the scanned version of the paper in any meaningful way is almost an impossibility. The transfer to the iPad has not been thought through and just thrown together. Needs some effort making rather than just the boast of an app on the AppStore.
