Apple TV - English App but in Arabic????
After the last IOS update on Apple TV, Live feed is now in Arabic and no longer in English….. Surely based on the name, this is basic functionality that does not work, so is rather misleading?

It takes forever to load.
The old Al Jazeera app used to load instantly. This new version of it? Definitely not. All you get is this blue splash page which can stay on for anything between long time and forever.
Other news apps, like the BBC, Reuters, Apple News, etc. they load instantly. Why Al Jazeera can’t do the same?

Really poor responsiveness
I don’t know what’s going on in the background, but the app is awful to use on an iPhone 8 with 15.1 software. Extremely jerky scrolling makes it impossible to read articles. Deleted within the minute. Shame, as the articles seem good but I found it unusable.
Edit - the Al Jazeera “one app” (dark blue logo) is much better and “normal” - this orange one is nearly useless; get the blue app instead

Hundreds of buttons offering latest news, particular articles, features, programmes etc etc etc etc … but none of the buttons work. Pity really. You’d think some testers would have discovered that. Please fix.

Great news but the app is terrible
The news is good and very nonpartisan and reliable, however it’s impossible to scroll with one finger. I have to scroll in the same direction with 2 fingers for it to work. How could they screw up something so simple as scrolling, so badly. The app is also hard to navigate and there is no dark mode which is blinding.

Nightmare scrolling
One you have selected a story it is a nightmare to scroll; incredibly laggy and jumpy. Needs an urgent update for me to use it again.

Great content, app not so good
Upgraded my phone to iPhone 13 Pro and scrolling through articles is not working. Keeps faltering and jumping about. Makes reading the content almost impossible.

Good news! Limited app.
Really good international coverage. Particularly good for Middle Eastern news.
App is a bit clunky, no search, scroll jumps under IOS (which is very annoying) and news stories keep repeating under top stories, ads keep taking focus and hijacking the screen.

Scrolling
Great news channel but I have big problems scrolling down the screen to read it it refuses to move moves the wrong way often have to give up please can you sort this out it’s a real shame spoiling a great app

Patch required
As mentioned by others, upon opening of the app it scrolls ok, but once a story is selected I have trouble scrolling through it, as it’s jumpy and laggy.

Great news channel but app problems
I love the way that aljazeera doesn’t only focus on western nations, which is why i downloaded the app to get news from different views. However, the app is a bit glitchy, such as scrolling makes the page go up and down and freeze a lot. It gets a bit annoying and i couldn’t find any way to report bugs?

Urgent patch fix required!
This app now for months has had a bug which has still not yet been fixed! When launching the app scrolling up and down is fine. However when clicking on to a story when you move down the page , the page scrolls up. This has put me off using the app. It needs fixing asap!!!!

Superb content but display freezes
The content is up there with the best of the best but the app can be extremely tedious to use, and sometimes it’s almost unusable.
The app displays advertisements - and you can’t work around that. But when they are loading, the app freezes, and they are very slow to load. This affects scrolling, which locks up for seconds at a time, making the app deeply frustrating to use.
Another ship that’s being spoilt for wont of a ha’pence worth of tar.

Consuming news from different outlets for years, never had an issue until 3 weeks ago when this app does not let me scroll traditionally and I have to input different screen swipes to read articles. Major bugs. Get it fixed

Jittery App
I love the news content - shame the app is not smooth when scrolling down on a news article… it doesn’t roll smoothly, instead freezing and jerking back every time you hit an image or advertisement. On this basis I rarely use the app as it’s a poor user experience.

The best source of global news
Al Jazeera is in my opinion the best of any global news network. They report on regions of the world that are often ignored or sidelined by other large networks, and the quality and breadth of its investigatory documentaries are unparalleled. My only recommendation would be that the hosts of the shows (e.g. Inside Story) not interrupt their guests so frequently. Perhaps it would be better to have fewer guests and less interruptions. Thank you Al Jazeera for the quality reporting and for providing your network coverage free of charge.

I am very impressed with the high quality of journalism that I find in Al Jazeera. Your wide coverage of world events is excellent. It keeps me up to date with events in parts of the world that are not reported elsewhere. I’m especially impressed with the quality writing of Hamid Dabashi and others. Keep up the excellent work.

I like this app but tried to watch a couple f stories and it doesn’t get beyond the ad. I saw 4 ads trying to see one story. In the end I gave up without seeing the story. So sick of my attention being kidnapped for the sake of commercialism I’m deleting the app.

Great News needs dark mode
The journalism is great and so refreshing not to be overly Western centric. The app really needs a dark mode option like most other news apps and the front page could be a bit more organised in my opinion.

AJ English is a breath of fresh perspectives
This app is great: It features diverse opinions, widespread reporting, and the kind of global credibility and outreach which other news networks lack. Being able to save news articles and opinions pieces to your own personal feed also helps to manage what and when you read stories without just having to scroll past them. Live news updates and AJ English’s numerous current affair shows and documentaries can also be streamed easily and with little to no interruption. Well done, AJ!

Fantastic but-
Really great app, the articles are well written and I love that I can save articles to read for later but for the love of everything that is holy can you please add a search feature. I recently got into current affair and many of the recent articles make no sense because I have no idea what has already happened in the past. I want to watch those ‘start here’ videos and read earlier articles on specific topics but they’re very hard to find because I can’t search for them.

Amazing coverage but adverts and no dark mode
I love this news channel and I’m always tuned too their live feed on their website.
App is great too but can the adverts are just annoying!
And we need dark mode on all apps, that should be the norm.
Also, from a design perspective, even the categories should be “swippable”
Left and right not just the articles after you have loaded one.
Most iOS apps support it and is very useful when you’re using only one hand.
All in all, it’s a good app and great content with some room for improvements

These ads are very annoying, hard to skip
Hard to skip the ads because the playback bar is actually in front of the skip button. Having to watch 1:30 video to see some little reel... and UX is a bit all over the place.

Why Aljazeera Arabic audio app is not working
I was using the audio Arabic aljazeera app for years and now while the app still carries the logo of aljazeera, it has been replaced by another radio station. I was accessing the app through “myTuner radio” app. Can you please look into this and fix ASAP as this has certainly impacted the number of people listening to the station and made them switched to other stations.

Good content. Bad app
AJs content is excellent, covering much more of the world in depth than other news apps. But the app has become really problematic. Over the past few months I have frequently been unable to get onto the app, and am forced to delete it and then download again. I don’t have this problem with any other app, so please get it sorted.

Quality Global Journalism.
I really love this app, I’ve started checking it everyday to keep up to date on the issues plaguing the world currently. I like that I see articles on the UK, Nigeria, and Romania all on one page with videos and easy to read articles. I also love that they focus on social issues like women’s rights and general human rights.
My only complaint is that the app doesn’t have a “search” function that I’m aware of. It would be so useful to be able to search for articles on a particular topic. If there is one available, it’s not very easy to spot which might suggest an improvement needs to be made to the design in terms of user experience.
Otherwise, great app. Would recommend. I love their twitter feed as well.

An alternative viewpoint
I look forward to reading AJ on a regular basis. It is a breath of fresh air as it is not tied to the western axis.
I am a Christian first and foremost but I believe, and this viewpoint may cause me future problems, that the DNA of Abraham was as much part of Ishmael’s makeup as it was of Isaac.
Therefore, in my opinion, it it is right and proper that one is able to get an alternative viewpoint.
As Abraham is recorded in the Hebrew Scriptures as saying: ‘shall not the judge of all the earth do right’ ??

Lack of functionality in navigation
My problem with the application is simple. The arrow to back to the top story page or any other page located at the top left corner. I have iPhone XS and the top left corner is difficult for a finger to use the navigation. It’s just not working and I’m planning to delete the app altogether.

Raw facts & adequate features
Al Jazeera is no like other media presenters- it presents unaltered news and evidences in a bold and brave way. And the app itself is fantastic- with sufficient features and easy organisation, it helps people to be up-to-date with the global news and essential discussions, with an ease.

Interesting news channel, disappointing app
I started reading Al Jazeera news several months ago, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the journalism & the range and perspective of the stories covered. However, I find the app very limited, with quite basic things not working in anything like an intuitive way. I can't find a way to save interesting stories to read later, so many of the things I wanted to read have disappeared. Hitting the menu button takes you to a pretty useless screen with no obvious way back to the story you were reading. A potentially fascinating interview, published just yesterday, with Jimmy Wales about combating fake news has just disappeared & I can't find it again.
So guys, please keep up the standard of content but get a better app to present & organise it.

Pretty good news app
I believe one needs to look at more than western news sources to get anything remotely like a balanced view. These days everyone seems to have an agenda. Gone are the days people just reported facts. Now it's all about spin. Hopefully by looking at a variety of sources one can perhaps begin to glean what might be the truth. Maybe I'm just being naive. But what else can one do? As the fictional character, Greg House said, "everybody lies". Despite the fact it's fiction, it's probably more true than a lot of so called 'news facts' one sees. Thanks for giving me a different perspective Al Jazeera !

Too slow and no caching
Even on wifi it takes too long to load an article. It takes so long to load I've actually had time to admire the 'loading' animation which is about the only good hing about this app. Also it doesn't cache articles so if you open the app and see all the available articles, when you're done reading one you can't read the next one without a connection. This would be helpful for commuters in and out of areas of service. Anyway sort it out. I often give up and just go to the website instead. Poor effort.

Aljazeera news is great also because of its coverage. The app is very user friendly but I really miss the audio streaming - listen live, as it was a very useful feature that I could use during my train journey to work. Please bring the feature back

The new app makes it easier to discover high-quality a ALJ media productions however I miss the Audi stream and multitasking functions of the old app, where you could listen to news while also doing your emails on the iPhone.

Love Al Jazeera but the app needs improving.
I love Al Jazeera for its news and content particularly for the fact that there so much that goes unreported by most news outlets. That's why it pains me to say that the app is not up to scratch with the rest of the Al Jazeera website. These days I will use the browser version rather than the app as the content fails to appear sometimes in the app that is on the main website and shows like Inside Story do not appear inside the app.
Also can you update the app to suit iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus resolutions please?
Please Al Jazeera fix these things!

Fao those that are moaning regarding the contents of al jazeera - my analysis would be either you blindly wish to allow the injustice and journalistic bias that is so evident to go on OR you possibly aren't the brightest spark and don't even realise how biased the contemporary news is!
Advice>> actually watch the channel first and stop whinging when someone speaks the truth.

Great app, terrible management
I believe this apps video function is possibly the best on the app market. It has a great world news selection and absolutely no adds.
HOWEVER it has the worst track record possible in past weeks i have had to change my reviews several times. Pleas please learn to maintain this app so that it WORKS.....:(
