UPDATE ! Content good but crashes/freezes

I use this app as my main dictionary (Italian/English): it’s great for looking up words, finding example sentences, conjugations, etc. And all for free! Unfortunately, it isn’t working as it was anymore. It is in serious need of an update!! It usually freezes and crashes straight away. Opening it a second time works better but it’s very annoying.

No longer working

Would normally give this 5 stars but unfortunately the appis no longer working on my iPhone 8 Plus. Did a software update yesterday and may be related to that. Am really missing it - especially the Spanish-English forum.

Poor mobile compatibility

It does what it says but poorly, especially on the app. This is not well enough designed for touch screen and multiple glitches and inconsistencies appeared over frequent use of this app. Please fix.

Very useful

I would recommend anyone to use this app alongside or instead of Spanish Dict. The downside is that Word Reference cannot be used offline but that is not a very common occurrence for most language students. Be patient as it takes slightly longer to get to grips with the user interface but once you have, it is incredibly useful and quick to use. Perhaps even more detailed than Spanish Dict. The two together are unbeatable!

Excellent app but...

Absolutely excellent using a laptop. Sadly this is not a great transfer to mobile. Text is small and cramped and right up to the screen edge. Landscape is better but then you are stuck with a horizontal scroll to see everything.
Seems like a straight html transfer just hiding some components. It is worh more than this and I would happily pay more for a decent and proper mobile version.

Great App

Ive tried quite a few dictionary apps for helping me with learning Italian. I find this the best one, although i wish they would move the star icon out of the search bar. I keep ‘favourite-ing’ words when i just want to clear the search box

No Traditional Chinese

I would be appreciated if the translator can read and translate Traditional Chinese characters. It was annoying that I have to transfer traditional Chinese characters into simplified first and then translate them into other languages. It's not convenient at all.

Brilliant

Best app ever!

Update worse

I just updated to the latest version today, and the drop down menu that appears when one starts typing in a word (in the previous version a list of possible words would appear in the drop down) is blacked out, and all one can see is a black section on a white background, instead of a list of possible words/definitions.
Hope to see a fix.

I have been using this app for 1 year now. Since I moved in UK from Greece. By far the best I found. The translation is the most accurate I’ve seen, giving explanations and definitions. Still using it in almost daily basis. Highly recommended !!

Glitchy and annoying 👿👿👿👿👿👿👿

This app doesn’t allow you to have access to all words. It is helpful to a certain extent but needs a lot more development to actually make it useful for people who are a step up from basic language learning. It is very very very glitchy and the adverts are very annoying and do not go away.

Is there a paid version?

I like this for helping with my French course but the little ad at the bottom of the screen is ANNOYING. It can’t be removed even if I dutifully go to the ad site which happens if I try to click the tiny ‘x’ to remove it. It also frequently freezes my screen so I can’t scroll down. Please tell me if I can buy an ad-free version!

Would be perfect if it had flash cards

Really great app I use regularly for advanced Spanish words. It would be even better if there were an offline option available eg without access to the forums.
I love that I can save my favourites, but it is really frustrating that there is no option to review them in flash cards. Because of this, I am currently looking for an alternative app, but I am hopeful that the developers will consider this for future versions.

Where is the option for Spanish Conjunctions?

This would be 5* if they offered Spanish conjunctions like they do on the desktop site. Otherwise, it’s simple and functions how it’s supposed to.
