I have been using this app for a number of years. It makes it simple to enter and track my wines. Searching the resulting list is simple, either by keyword or specific parameters. I can’t recommend it enough.

Disappointing
Complex, cumbersome, counterintuitive, frustrating, takes forever to do anything, almost impossible to use. Binned it and looking for another App. And, lots of wines not on the database so have to enter manually.

Excellent, comprehensive app
VinoCell is a comprehensive and simple to use app for recording and maintaining a wine collection / cellar. Entering new wines is simple, and adding multiple bottles of a particular type at once is easy (it prompts you to add however many bottles are to be stored). The amount of detail and information that can be applied to the wine is quite comprehensive, but the user can choose to limit the info to whatever is important to them. If you have stored elsewhere, it can record that too - useful if you have wine kept ‘in bond’ with wine merchants. An excellent app.

Superb
Does everything I wanted and more, for a great price. Bought this 5 years ago now and we refer back to it a lot when buying our wine, based on the data we choose to input (not all of what you can) and the scores we give the wines when drunk. It’s really useful when you're out buying wine to remind you of the types of wines you don’t have and the ones you may want to avoid. It also saves a lot of time when trying to find a wine in our cave, rather than searching through every bottle. Would thoroughly recommend this app to anyone!

Not useable
I’m not sure where all of these fabulous rating came from. I’ve been in IT for 30 years and this is the single most unuser friendly program I have ever dealt with. The interface is not intuitive. It also doesn’t have some of the features of free programs like photo recognition and bar code scanning. For all the hype and high ratings, very disappointed.

Useless database
Looks pretty, but the so called 1 million wines database is completely useless. The first 5 wines I tried to put in were not recognised including Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2019, which is one of the world’s famous wines. It appears not to have any labels for my of the wines that are in the database .. at least I couldn’t find any. I’ve asked for a refund. My advice is don’t buy.

Disappointing
You can capture dozens of attributes and the import from csv works fine. If you have a richly populated spreadsheet to upload that is one thing, but if you have a long list of wines with basic data you will be disappointed - there seems to be no way to enrich your data in any automated way. So then I started another approach of searching my wines using the app’s database. The search brings dozens of listings for the same wine, each with a varying quality of data - some of it just plainly wrong. And no images seem to be provided. Looking for an alternative app that is worth the money...

Did not imagine the clever means of organising my wines.
With a moderate collection I even enjoyed the cataloguing ,photographs etc.

Useful as a cellar inventory
Would have given 5 stars if it was possible to see which wines were due to be consumed first ( by drink by dates self entered) and still some work to be done on sub- categories. But overall an excellent app for the purpose of cataloging your wine collection ( big or small)

I can’t believe I fell for this.
It’s slow and horrid. Takes ages to add wines. Pretty but dumb. Please avoid. I’m genuinely sorry I wasted my money on this. Feel shafted.

Second to none!
They just don’t come any better than this app for storing your wine collection and taking note of tastings and preferences. I used to worry about finding specific wines in my chiller cabinets but with this app all I have to do is tap the bottle I want and it tells me which row/column and slot it’s in. You can write as much detail as you wish in the formatted cells and interrogate the database by any feature such as grape, winery, country, region, vintage, when to drink etc etc. I’ve used it for a few years now over which time I’ve found no other app anywhere near it.

Excellent app
If you are looking for an inventory management system for your wine collection, look no further. It does everything pretty well. Might be nice to enhance the export functionality so you can produce detailed pdf reports on your inventory, but apart from that it’s very good.

Great Wine Cellar Tracker
Absolutely perfect for what I need for my wine cellar storage around my home. Would be awesome if it searched online to match a wine database and pull down all information for each wine and then pull down up to date value from a wine valuation site.

Outstanding App for wine collection
This is an extremely versatile App which allows anyone with a wine collection of any size to catalogue their wine in a way that allows them to enter as much or as little information as they like about each wine with photographs of the labels and bottles. The storage options are infinitely variable and allow all sorts of racks, wine fridges and wine cellars to be easily accommodated. The facility to show where a wine is in its storage location is brilliant. Tasting notes can be added at any time. There is a vast amount of supporting information on the built in databases. Prices can be added directly or by searching on the internet using the embedded links. All in all a brilliant App for wine enthusiasts of any level. It does take time to catalogue large collections but the time invested in well spent.

Terrible to use
The user interface is terribly cumbersome. Unless I’m missing something, you have to place each bottle individually; each time it takes about 5 actions. So to add a case of 6 bottles takes an age. Don’t understand why you can’t add 6 bottles, visually touch each position and save all in one go.

Very good app for managing your wine cellar. Recommended
I’ve been using it now for several weeks, still haven’t entered all wines, but found the app useful and very rich with the amount of information you can enter. Given it 4 instead 5 stars because of usability flaws; it sometimes takes a unnecessary number of clicks to complete an operation, for example adding a label photo takes 5 clicks when 2 would be sufficient. Some similar programs have label recognition against their database, which would speed up entry, while with this app you have to type the name and search against their database. I’ve noticed that the database has a lot of duplicate or very similar entries. Similarly, when adding a new bottle of an existing wine, if you fail to go into that wine and add a bottle, but create a new identical wine, it won’t warn you or offer to edit the existing wine. The developer has made a great effort and created a very good and useful app. With some usability corrections a very good app coupled become a brilliant app. In the meantime however, I will continue using it and can recommend it.

Looks great, flexible and works well
I have used a few wine cellar apps and Vinocell is by far the best - you can input as much or as little information as you wish. If you want to go completely encyclopaedic you can...but equally if you only want to add minimal info about your bottles, that's an option. It is very flexible and I would think everyone is catered for here - it also looks great (lots of options for labels etc), info is easy to enter and it syncs seamlessly. A great tool that also looks superb!

The perfect wine cellar app
I've been using this app through all its incarnations and frankly it just gets better with each update. The style of the latest release required a bit of re-learning but all the features are still there and now find it even easier to add, find and update wines.
I also love the fact that they've included a whole variety of cellar layouts so it was easy to choose one for our new wine cabinet then populate it. Also easy in the cellar view to drag wines to new racks and re-arrange the storage when we've just been on a wine buying trip.
Definitely one to recommend if you're serious about wine.

Best cellar app I've used so far
I've been searching on and off for a decent cellar app and VinoCell is it. The app does take a little getting used to but this is mainly because of its truly encyclopaedic nature. Don't worry about getting everything right first time, nor is it necessary to complete all fields, as it's possible to go back and fill in or edit pretty much any of the information input at any time.
I have all my wine (both in bond and at home) now catalogued. It took a few hours over a weekend but wasn't too onerous a job given the fact that the app can be accessed via the web or mobile device. I encountered no issues syncing data across devices.
I've used and discarded a few wine apps over time. I can see myself sticking with VinoCell for the foreseeable future. Although not free, VinoCell is easily worth its £10 upfront cost.

Approach with caution
It's almost great but fraught with frustration - lots of clicks involved to do anything
Currently unable to place bottles in cellar - keep going in circles.
That apart it is satisfying to be able locate all my wines - over 300
You have to be keen to make it work but they have good support.

Back to its former glory!
Great app but can we have qualitätswein as a German classification please (it's available under Austria but not Germany). Also a bug fix would be appreciated - newly added label/bottle pictures sometimes disappear on syncing. Thank you.

Comprehensive cellar management but lacking a back end database
This is most comprehensive cellar management app that I have tried. Although a little bit complicated to use with lots of clicks and input required, doing so does allow you to capture masses of info on each bottle. It is also nice to be able to record a bottle's location in my cellar to avoid having to constantly pull at bottles to read the labels.
On the downside, all inputs with the app are painfully manual. It would be superb to have the ability to photograph a label and have key bits of information pre populated (producer, wine, year, etc) similar to Vivino.

Great way to keep track of your wine
This is a comprehensive data base for your wine cataloging by country,grape variety etc. It offers help in providing tasting notes and keeps track of when wine reaches its apogee and what you prefer to match with your food. Difficult to suggest improvements- highly recommended.

Excellent wine management
I just migrated off Vinoteka Mac, iPad and iPhone to this beautiful app. Works brilliantly on iPad Pro and iPhone managing over 500 bottles. Takes a little while to get used to but it is simply superb for the money. I tried a few alternatives to Vinoteka and this was by far the best. Nice job Vinocell.

Good wine storage and tasting app
I had the previous version of this, vinocello, but the support was withdrawn and it was impossible to move your wine data to a new ipad. I was somewhat irked to have to pay for the new one, but the data is stored in the cloud, so easy to back up and move around.
The app doesn't yet do everything the old one did and which is in development e.g. Allow bottles to be shown in individual locations in a store. But if you have a lot of wine laid down and want to know what you have got, what you've drunk and where it is, then this is a good app. It also records tasting notes, prices and you can add professional reviews and scores. More integration into other price and rating sites would be nice for future development.

Too complex, misses the essentials
Could be such a great tool and then the developer fails at the first hurdle: how to conveniently enter wines. I may change my mind if ever he comes up with a workable entry interface I may change my mind but for now it was a waste of money.

Excellent app
This app is somewhat intimidating when you first start to use it, because it has so many features and is so versatile. You could, I think, use it to run a wine business, so there is a lot in it which the ordinary wine enthusiast won't bother with.
I most particularly liked the facility for 'mapping' your wine cellar. In my case, this means that I can store bottles anywhere in a large rack, and still be able to get my hands easily on the bottle I want.
But, above all, I like the basic ability to review the wines I have, and to pick the appropriate bottle for the appropriate occasion.

Awful - avoid
The app looked promising at the beginning, but it is in fact absolutely awful.
The number of clicks involved in adding a bottle of wine to a cellar is ridiculous. You first have to select the wine. Then you have to go to another screen to select the cellar. Then another to choose the rack.
Only then can you click a "Place" button to navigate to the rack, then double tap the bottle and double tap the location in the rack.
Multiply that by any sensible number of bottles, and you realise that this app is a great time waster.
Not only that, but it gets slower and slower and slower, so that it was taking ten to fifteen seconds PER BOTTLE from the time I clicked in the rack until the bottle appeared.
Broadly speaking, this is buggy and pretty useless for anyone with a cellar that has more than half a dozen bottles.
Avoid.

After spending a good real of time searching for an easy way of managing my small-ish cellar, I found this little gem. It does everything I want and at a very reasonable price. I've only just started using it but cannot think of any major aspects which need to be improved. Well done developers!!

Very slick
Have tried various other apps and websites for tracking wines and this is the best I could find. User interface is excellent, visualisation of cellar racks is superb. Adding wines is very easy and has a search facility which then pre-populates various fields which can also then be changed if you wish.
Also stores tasting notes which is very handy.
Why not 5/5? I am very demanding and there are a couple of things that would make it 5: ability to store more photos and store them associated to specific bottles. Provision of some user definable fields for wines and bottles.

Brilliant!
This app allows me to be completely OCD about my wine collection, it beats my excel spreadsheet and any other cellar apps I've tried hands down! I love being able to photograph and therefore read the labels without disturbing the bottles, and the amount of detail catered for is massive! I'd like to see a 'fortified wine' category added, but otherwise can't fault it

Love the app. Great. But...
Could you please fix the following bug. In my Cellar I have 28 bins (shelves) and have thus named each one Bin 1, Bin 2 etc. the problem is that it orders them by moving Bin 10 after Bin 1 then Bin 11. ie it sorts Bin 1-13 like so:

Excellent programme
I have been using another program, Wine XT For many Years and this is a huge improvement. The app appears a little complicated at first but after a short time I found it easy to use. There are also great instructional videos available online. If it was simpler it would not have the features that it does.
Many great features – you can add tasting notes from Jancis Robinson etc together with comments as well as your own tasting notes. It synchronises extremely well with iCloud and although the web Version as opposed to the app is a little basic, I understand that the developer is working on an updated version with many improvements. It is also very easy to add bottles to your seller and to move them around within the seller.
All in all, this app represents great value for money and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wanted a wind up for the iPhone/iPad/Mac.

Brilliant fun
I don't have an extensive "cellar" but am interested in wine. This app is great fun and very useful. I do most of my editing on my iPad and then sync to my iPhone so when I am buying wine I can easily check whether I have had a particular wine before, whether I liked it and whether the price has remained the same or gone up or down. Really recommend this app, it is also very useful to find a wine in your wine rack without having to pull them all out to read the labels. It takes some effort to put all the data in and keep it up to date but it really is fun. The one downside is it reminds you how many bottles you have drunk and it's usually too many!

Well worth the money
I am an amateur wine enjoyer! Courtesy of some not to be missed wine club deals I now have around 100 bottles (how did that happen?) -anyway I wanted a way to catalogue which wines I had, how long and where in my cellar (wine rack in my bike shed) they were. This genius programme allows this and so much more. Takes about 30 mins to get used to the programme but this is because it does so much neat stuff you need to figure out how to use it!
I am delighted- ticks every box and worth the price!

Excellent syncing app
For my 250 or so bottles I photoed them and got them all into the app in 3 or so hours. Totally worth it, now have on iPad, iPhone and web. Much better than the other crappy ones out there. Totally worth 7 pounds, and I happily paid for both the iPad an iPhone apps. The makers need to earn something!

If you already use Vinocella, the change is a lot of work
I have only given this app 3* because I am rather disappointed by the amount of work it will be to move my records from Vinocella to Vinocava. To be fair, the notification email I received from the author explained that only wine info could be imported, not numbers of bottles or cellar location. Having played round with the app for a few hours, it has become clear how much effort and time this will take. The explanation offered is that database structures are completely different; this seems a pretty feeble excuse: moving data around is a pretty standard computing activity.
There are some things to like about the new app: there are more attributes that can be entered about the wine and an improved way to enter regional/appellation data.
One thing that is more of a nuisance is adding bottles to a cellar. Each bottle must be handled separately; it requires 4 taps to put a bottle in a rack, compared to 1 in Vinocella.
If you already have Vinocella, I'm not sure I'd recommend the new app, if you have a lot of data already stored. Maybe I'll change my mind, if I spend more time with Vinocava. It is, after all, from the same stable as Vinocella, which I rated highly.
