Avoid

I love the writing but this app has made me drop the subscription. Like others I’m unable to see my current material. It beggars belief that such a veritable institution cannot get a fairly basic app to work properly.
Avoid in its current incarnation.

Utter Rubbish

Despite being a MIT SMR subscriber for many years, the app has been an endless source of frustration. Setting aside the poor general usability, MIT SMR seems incapable of providing access to issues bought. Until recently, I could only access issues in my current subscription period and had to, after much debate, go to Zinio to address old issues. Now, I can access old issues but can't access issues in my current subscription period - which is much, much more frustrating.
While I still have some respect for the MIT SMR writers, the company's inability to grasp basic digital technology is a cause of some concern.
This app is one to avoid.

Appalling app

Been a subscriber for a few years and now can't read any issues, the app is complete rubbish

Awful app

The journal itself is very good but the app is awful, by far the worst app on my iPad. The Dev team should look at the Economist app to see how it should be done.
As I mostly read on my iPad now I find the app means I don't read the journal much now so may well cancel my subscription next time.
Problems:
- Font size cannot be changed
- Slow to start
- Ads intrusive, I have to see the SAS add
Ever time I switch back to the app
- Does not work without an internet connecting, hopeless on planes and Trains!
