Poor Customer service

I had previously purchased this app back in 2015 with one of payment. It’s a good app. The problem is that I’ve got a new handset after several years and upon downloading the app again I realised the pro features are blocked and when I click on already subscribed the app doesn’t recognise my Apple ID as if I’m a new customer. I’ve already written to the customer service twice, but it seems like my messages are ignored. It’s not fair to make a purchase and not be able to use it.

Looks good but keeps freezing.

Got the app to use my DJI Bluetooth mic with the iPhone. Works really well but app keeps freezing and not responding.

I suspect my phone (iPhone 13 mini) just isn’t up to the job of running this.

iOS 18

This has been a really great camera and I’ve really enjoyed using it. The zoom between cameras is really smooth and takes amazing videos. Now with iOS 18 available and the Lock Screen widget customisation, I think it would be a good idea to have a widget that can replace the regular camera button. There’s a few other apps that have already done this, but they’re mainly for photos rather than videos. I’d really like to see a new update where this is made possible

It won’t switch camera

One of the features - and the reason I downloaded it - is the ability to switch to the other camera while recording.

It doesn’t DO that. You select it in settings, click done and it isn’t!

Apple log implementation needs work

I found that the apple log doesn’t give results comparable with blackmagic app or the native camera app. There is banding and extra amount of digital noise when recording in apple log.

My go to movie camera app

After trying most of the movie camera apps in the App Store, I must say that this one is my favourite. The interface is clean and easy to understand. There are many options available and it also has the ability to record from two lenses simultaneously.

There are a couple of other features I would like to see. The ability to airdrop from within the app rather than having to go the the phone’s files would be nice. I would also like to be able to lock the shutter speed and allow the app to automatically adjust the iso rather than have to do both manually.

It’s packed with features but messy UI.

As it has so many features it can be very fiddly and not intuitive to use the features most commonly used while shooting. Like manual focus, exposure and shutter speed.

Great app just can’t quit without shutting down my iPhone

I’ve used this app professionally for a couple of films. Each time I’m forced to shut down my iPhone & restart at the end of shooting because I can’t quit the app within the OS.

Buggy and poor quality

The audio quality (at least the default one) is very poor and it produces videos at the wrong aspect ratio. I set it to 1080x1920, which is what was recorded, but it was stretched to 1080x2554. This is unacceptable for a paid app. What the hell is going on?

Livid

Thanks to this app I’ve now got re-record an entire hours worth of footage as on playing back the recorded footage the first 30secs play fine but then decides to go into slow

motion for the remainder of the recording. Also why is the default setting in such high quality, completely unnecessary. I used this app to record a gym session and a clip of just 1minute 51 was over half a Gb, I recorded 90mins and now have a total of just under 7Gb so annoyed I now got to book a second session to redo the whole thing. 🤬

The only app that allows you to use your AirPod mics as input for your videos

I cannot fathom why anyone is rating this less than 5 star.

I needed an app that enabled me to use the microphones from my AirPods rather than the built in mics.

This app is the only one that allows Bluetooth mics to be connected and allows you the same level of video and audio control you would get with a professional video camera.

- You can choose which microphone on your phone you want to use

Just need to remember to put your phone into flight safe mode otherwise your recording will get interrupted!

Laggy

I’ve just spent £9.99 on this app and would like a refund. It’s incredibly laggy and glitchy running on my iPhone 11pro. The screen can’t keep up with the camera’s movement. Please rectify this! There’s no reason this should be happening on this device.

"MoviePro NEEDS the ability to shoot in FLAT PROFILE"

I'm on the fence of jumping ships to Filmic Pro. I love MoviePro and prefer it to Filmic in terms of UI and everything but at this point filmic has really up their game and taken things to different level. without the ability to shoot in flat profile this app is being obsolete. I'm running out of patience as I've waited for the developers to add the flat profile shooting for long now. For people that don't care about shooting in flat, this app is a no brainer.

Filmic Pro Killer if it had Flat & LOG Profiles

Fed up with filmic pro crashing all the time? This app does the same thing (almost) with more settings.

Only things missing are Flat and Log profiles and gimbal support so until that’s included I can’t says it’s better than filmic pro.

Has a remote app which is essential for vlogging.

Much more stable than filmic pro and if you don’t need LOG, or gimbal support, then this is the cheaper and more stable purchase.

Could be better!

Unless the “Reduced Feature Mode” is turned on, there is coloured line runs along the top of the frame in 1080 HD. Still not fixed in this latest release. Can’t see how this wasn’t spotted when the developers debugged it as this is probably the default resolution for most people. Please fix this immediately.

Using with the X and it’s good!

I’m not someone that knows much about video recording but enjoy shooting as a hobby. I wanted a good app for my iPhone X which allowed me to manually control my settings within the app and shoot. MoviePro has it all. The is stable and quite responsive on the X. The only issue I’ve found which needs to be addressed is when turning on video stabilisation to standard for 4K @ 24, 48 and 96. It works fine for 1080p but not 4K. I get like a repeated slice of video in the view finder... weird. Please address this and I will give 5 stars.

Great on X

I was give beta access to help test the app on iPhone X. It works great. Also works very well with my DJI osmo mobile. Simple to use with intuitive but powerful options and controls.

This really should be more popular

Main use for me - Allows you to bypass the bs noise cancellation crap the stock camera app implements that makes everything sound muffled like you’re underwater. Can set which mic you want to take audio from and can record uncompressed. Honestly worth it for this alone. Also obviously great for manual control of everything, well thought out interface and features etc. Get some stuttering in live video preview whilst recording on an 8 plus, but fortunately doesn’t translate to the file itself so no biggie.

Lost a lot of valuable footage

I recorded a number of interviews in Movie Pro which lost audio sync in editing. It has taken 4 days trying to resolve the issue in Premeire Pro - which is part of my workflow. Variable Frame Rate - seems to be the issue - and the final word from Adobe Helpdesk is that the app is not compatible with Premiere Pro. I would think PPro is the industry standard in ediing suites - so very disappointed to find this issue - and for it to take so long to identify.

Rather than the greed for an additional £4.99 for the remote app.. hows about some imagination. This apps called moviePRO one assumes as PRO you have the features. And as such i feel 4.99 AND a separate remote app is a rip off. Why not just a £1.99 inAPP at the most and when opening the ONE app it asks CAM EDIT / REMOTE Mode? Grab some imagination and morals, and why does a camera app state iOS 10 only 😂

Highly recommended

This app is a real step up from the iOS bundled video recorder and gives the user a fairly intuitive and simple interface including easy setup for more advanced things like custom white balance, exposure locking and one tap focus setting. There is inbuilt stabilisation at 1920x resolution settings and a nice variety of easily customised presets including interesting anamorphic ratios. It supports the Moondog anamorphic adaptor or you could shoot widescreen at 3k and letterbox on iPhone6... I'm hoping future releases will have higher horizontal resolution anamorphic presets which would be very nice.

Huge Improvement!

I had this app a year or two ago and its was disgustingly bad. But now, its a lot better. Better quality, better fautures, less crashing. The app used to crash all the time, now, the only time it crashes is when you try and use the built in video editor, it doesnt bother me as I edit my vids on PC. If you people would like to edit on ios devise then I would recomond to use splice or Imovie. If the crashimg in the editor is fixed then this app will be 5 star worthy.

Issues with pause button on iphone5

Since today's update (9/4/13) when you set the -volume button to "pause/resume" whenever you click it you can clearly hear it in the footage!, what you need is a setting whereby you can delay the recording by even just half a second so that when you press the pause button (volume button) there is a delay to start recording and therefore the sound of pressing the button is not heard on the recording.

But great Customer Service, sent them an email and they are going to try to do this in the next update.

The best but still not good enough

There are lots of things i like about this app but the following issues make it highly unusable for certain circumstances.

There is no input audio gain, so you cant adjust the volume level coming into the app, so if your recording something thats loud it just distorts on playback.

When you receive a text, call, calendar note or any type of notification the app stops recording (there is a work around this though to turn off all notifications and put the phone into flight mode). The developer says there is nothing they can do about this as apple do not allow this in-depth feature for an app. But i'm sure ive seen things like this before in other apps.

Having spoken with the developer he says he will try to sort these issues in the future but a few months later and no update has arrived. As soon as these niggles get sorted then i will update my own feedback to 5 stars.

Really good

This app has everything, it really does blow recording from the normal way out of the water, setting such as 200% higher quality and different frame rates really make this feel professional, the update states that people complained about the slider, I believe the slider would be better and more smoother than click +each time, overall this app is worth the money and makes a lot better videos than the normal recording

With a fix for the s/w glitch in the last version (iPad UI problem) this app is now back up to full strength and a must have for all budding Stephen Spielburgs or Joe Public alike. Just love the fact that I can run it on both my iPad2 and iPhone seamlessly. Great quality and with all the functionality and options that I am looking for. Really rather good

This is the video app I'm after. I have an iPhone 4s and it is a massive improvement on the built in camera app. Lets you pause recording (something quite important that's missing from other apps) and the feature to choose compression quality (and resolution/frame rate) is really important for saving on storage space for videos where the quality is important.

The app works well, isn't full of gimmicks like "retro" quality (which has its place but not here). It's a functional and simple app that just does what you need.

Oh and I like the option to choose whether you save direct to the camera roll or to the app's own storage.
