Practical, creative, satisfying

There’s something about the way this app works which pleases me greatly. It’s satisfying. It has turned out to be very useful for quickly sketching a map, diagram or flowchart for someone. But I’ve also used it to doodle creatively, to explore stuff that’s on my mind.

Excellent

I have tried many such apps but now settled on this one despite the high cost because it integrates well with other apps from the same developer and has numerous usability advantages.

Would be nice and much better if Inkflow offered the calendar template option (as in Notesflow) and iCloud integration else it remains a good but expensive choice for iPhone.

Worse than useless

Purchased this app - wasted my money - seemed to work in the beginning (years ago) but now it’s just a blank page on which one can scribble and do nothing else.

Works amazingly and is Highly useful but...

I am finding myself using this more and more. It is really good, but could be great. Using it is becoming a ‘double edged sword’. I need a way to organised the note books, like a folder system - without it my iPad Pro 12.9” screen is filling up (which is a good thing as I am using it🙂) looking forward to the future updates - well done.

Disappointed

This is an app that reads well but is a huge disappointment. I cannot understand why these app developers don’t tell you the truth.

Convoluted interface, No new page icon at top of page. No undo, but you do get erase last action (not the same) No next page unless you start from beginning again. Don’t like hidden menus. The selection of background designs is lamentable. I mean? Who uses grids? And lined paper? What about textures and coloured? No colour mixer.

Can’t use Inkflow with coloured photos. No decent fonts. Only takes B&W very poor photo quality line-photos in inkflo mode.

I personally think this app is misrepresented. Looks amazing description but turns out to be an amateurish app. With less than pro features.

Extremely disappointed.

My main gripe, is that it doesn't do inkflo on colour photos.

Strangely enough the inkflow part would be useful to me as a kind of photo sketching aid. However, The app falls well below expectations. Mainly on grounds of the very poor inkflo photo clarity and not encompassing colour photo editing. In other words its impossible to edit colour photos, but you can edit the horrible black and white line drawings....which is what they turn out be.

Not a very fulfilling experience at all. Unless of course I’m missing something obvious that remains hidden.

There’s loads about this app that I love - it’s really easy to use, it does things (or lets me do things) that really help me get organised in my work, and it’s like a publisher programme for a notebook. Amazing! One thing that would make the app even better is an undo button. It’s quite frustrating to only have the rubber for changes because you end up rubbing out stuff you didn’t want to because of the thickness of the rubber. This brings me to the reason for my 4-star review. I upgraded to inkflow plus because I wanted to be able to choose the thickness of my pen, but this function doesn’t work on my iPad Pro. Sometimes, just randomly, the pen will go really thick for a couple of letters, then go back to normal, but I can’t make the thickness change at all.

Great for maths teachers

This app is great! I use it for teaching all my junior school maths lessons. The grid paper option makes it look just the same as the children’s books.

My only wish is for a straight line ruler tool as when I draw shapes the lines are a bit wiggly.

Used to be great - doesn’t work on iPad Pro 10.5 - no answer to queries

As stated on the review title, this seems to be fantastic. Are used all the time: designing things, making photo collages, taking notes and more. Unfortunately, since I got my iPad 10.5 inch, it no longer works. The screen jumps around and half the image jumps off the side of the screen.

I’ve asked for help but don’t get any answers so, despite having spent £5ish on the app, it’s barely useful anymore.

Previously, I told lots of my friends about the app and really enjoyed it so I’m very sad about it.

Great app that is at the top for sketch noting

Real smooth flowing app

Really easy to draw, rotate, move .. Add text etc

Fast and fluid makes it practical in use.

Good for sketch noting..it has a generally speedy feel to it.

Ink port utility is unique and very powerful. Draw diagrams on paper, inkport them and the adjust move around components as needed.. Very nice!

Developers are keeping up with the app and several improvements over the years

For me the two things that would make 4* (actually 4.5 star), a 5*

1/ The ability to change colour of any selected item.. -> would enable embellishment of notes / drawn objects after they have been drawn

2/ easier sync between iPad and iPhone

However is a great app and worth the money

Definitely give it a go! +++++

Finally, if best aspects of Inkflow and Vittle were combined with a few general enhancements there would be a truly unique and powerful sketch noting app here .. I'd rather not have to keep jumping between apps.. :o)

Amazing but one problem

This app is the best I've seen to do anything and more than you can do on pen and paper. But I have one problem. I use it on both my phone and iPad and I've been trying to sync it but I still don't know how, please add a sync across devices feature?

Syncing Between Devices??

I absolutely love this app. It does nearly everything due to being so versatile. Personally, I use it for journalling, sketching, note-taking and planning out projects. However, I do have an issue with it. I cannot for the life of me work out how to sync my work between devices for ease of use. I've googled and googled and it doesn't seem to be a feature Inkflow has utilised. If they add this feature, or make it easier to use if it does exist, then I would be giving this app 5 Stars.

When using an apple pen to write on this note app, you do not need to worry about the skin of your hand making any unnecessary spot.

Good, but not my first goto 'notes' app

Useful additions would be a) sync between devices using iCloud and b) handwriting to text conversion. Other, cheaper, notes apps include these as a matter of course.

Works, immediately.

This has features I haven't fully exploited yet, but the best thing about this for me is its speed. Got an idea? Open and write in about a second. No set-up, picking canvasses and pens and colours and other options, it's RIGHT THERE. Need more space? Press next page. No interruptions, and you can use the simple colour picking system when you need to.

Very occasionally, I have to dismiss the tool/colour bar when I want to scribble, but not frequently enough to cause me to drop a star.

So, I use Inkflow PVN and iThoughts. If I need beauty and control (and who doesn't love a little bit of that now and then?), I use Procreate.

All others have fallen by the wayside, including Notify, Paper by 53, MS OneNote, ZoomNotes, Notability, Goodnotes, Note Taker HD, Notes Plus, Noteshelf, OverNote and other similar apps.

Good. Fast. Versatile.

I really like this app

It's perfect for business meetings, quick reminders, shopping lists, etc. on my iPad and using a stylus.

I personally found that my iPhone 5 was just too small as I would have to stop writing and resize the text of every sentence which really interrupted my train of thought.

I would also like a few other paper templates; different sized grids and differently spaced lines - or even special templates such as todo lists, phone message pads, memory cards, or colouring templates for the children to draw on at home.

I believe there is an option to import stationary, but I have just started using the app and not delved that deeply into it. I will in future though.

I would add some shaped to put in. Sometimes I want to put shapes such as straight lines in to write on it to add to a drawing and I need a perfect circle or line. Would be a good add on

I use for all my sketches

A nice replacement for sketching on paper. In meetings I now sketch graphs and diagrams using Inkflow displaying the output on my Apple TV. Much more flexible than a whiteboard

Brilliant!

After originally downloading the free version, I loved it so much that I thought the developers deserved my support, and I downloaded the full version! Now I love it even more! The extra features are extremely helpful and it's so easy to use! No more messy handwritten notes for me! It's made my exam revision much easier to handle and is also great for doodling! Thank you for a great application! Money well spent.

Best app for notes, but not palm rejection

Hi all, this is a very good app, simple to use. The only and biggest issues is that is not compatible with Bluetooth pens like Adonit Jot Touch and no palm rejection.

With palm rejection will be a 5 stars for sure

By far the best and most enjoyable app ever. Easy to export files in one of 3 different formats and to choose a file size. Really intuitive and not overloaded with useless functions. Actually, on second thoughts, it might be cool/useful to have a gallery with stick men,some basic shapes+arrows,post its.

A fantastic visual app!

Just started to use this app - more than just note taking, it is great for creating visuals. I am using it as an alternative to PowerPoint for training presentations. It would get 5 points if it had a proper save to account feature - I am concerned about losing all my work if the app crashes or I lose my tablet.

Great little app!

Takes a little getting used to and a few things like moving text around can be a bit clunky but all-in-all great app. If anyone from the dev team is reading this the ability to crop images in app would be really useful!

Awesome app!

This app is a must for anyone who is a creative thinker or someone who wants to share their ideas with others. I'm a teacher and have found this app outstanding for sharing ideas and methods with my pupils. I've tried lots of different apps on my iPad to mimic pen and paper and this one in my opinion is the best! I would highly recommend.

I really like this ap because of its special feature of moving and resizing selections. The interface is easy to use. I find the number of options and brushes provided is just right for graphic recording a conversation.

If i could improve it, i would add two layers so i can easily have foreground and background.

Really nice app!

I have tried a number of notetaking apps but this is now my favourite. Is easy to use & I love the fact you can do a little sketch, copy and paste it - but also resize it/and or rotate it as well. The only minor gripe I have is that when I change the pen size there are no numbers so if I go between sizes it is guess work to go back to one I have used previously. Other than that - I really like it.

If you like to doodle, this is what you need! I started off using the free version months back, and I found its simplicity to be the best part about it. Now, I use it all the time as the starting point for all my artwork.
