Review of app
One of the drawbacks from your app is when downloading the latest issue. You need to stay on page for it to download witch is annoying when you are working away trying to other things on your iPad/ laptops. I like how there is videos/ slideshows within your magazine issues!

Unable to load
Current update prevents me opening the App. All previously purchased magazines are therefore unreadable. I also cannot renew my subscription. There’s always Railway Modeller on Amazon. That works.

Ultimate cr*p app
It's absolutely awful. Over complicated to sign into, takes ages to download anything, then when there finally something to read - it crashes. And the whole process has to begin again....... A real shame because the mag is brilliant.

Poor compared with alternatives
This app is a long way behind the other rail model magazines available. Navigation is clumsy and reliability dreadful with frequent crashes. The truly awful aspect is the tedious download speeds. I have just downloaded one of the other mags in under a minute whereas 'Model Rail' is on its 5th attempt and requires 5 minutes and more every time.
Content is excellent but please bring the app up to standard!
Update - just downloaded the latest app version and now I am stuck at November 2017. I can ‘see’ the December cover but it has a title bar of November and downloading it reveals only the November issue. Another spectacular fail. I have a brand new iPad Pro. Please please get your act together!

New iPad needed
Despite having moved from paper to digital on the premise that I could always access the editions purchased, I'm advised that in order to continue to access them I need a new iPad, notwithstanding that there is nothing wrong with my current one, save that I've had it for 4 years or so.

Rubbish update
The latest version has caused me to lose all the magazines from my current 12 month digital subscription which started last August (2016). I purchased my subscription through iTunes and have followed the instructions in the guide to restore all my issues but it only found three individual copies I purchased prior to my subscription. I have spoken to customer service at the publisher and apple and still no resolution. The app layout is not as good as the previous one and the pages do not always fit properly on the screen as you can see part of adjacent pages!

Model rail app on a iPhone.
The app for Model rail compliments the magazine really well, I also like the fact you can either have a two page view or single page view and zoom in or out to show more detail, the other reason for liking this app is I can read it whilst I am out or on a break and not ruin my magazine copy! I have also had this app on a iPhone 6 Plus and now on a 7 plus and it works very well very happy with it.

Look forward
I always look forward to receiving both my hard and digital copy. Always find good articles which help me with my layout. Customer service were very helpful at start but no problems since. Would recommend.

Poor app.
With all the comparators around, I can not rate this app as good.
- No proper full screen. There are always toolbars and grey edges on a page. Reading real estate is hence insufficient on an iPadMini
- Loses your current location if you switch apps.
- This loss of current location results in a back to square one situation where a full kiosk update is started. Very annoying when you are off-line as you have to wait for a network timeout. Default should be local library
- Page joins in landscape mode are awful, with pictures being disjointed.
All in all, very amateurish.

Not as bad as I first thought!
I was not impressed when originally downloading the 'new' App, for reasons below. I've since been in touch with Bauer and they have bent over backwards to resolve the lack of supplements ( those magazine that provided them ). It's still has a few bugs, but many App's do!
Original comment: Not convinced this version is any better than the last! Not impressed that having downloaded it you then have to reload all the previously purchased magazines.
When turning a page on the latest version you first have to reduce an enlarged page back to 'normal' size before you can move to the next page. A retrograde step

Model Rail 0 BRM 10
Model Rail have now lost me as a customer,! I still have an I-Pad 1 ( this was passed onto me by my son) all other digital magazines that I subscribe to run on Ios 5 or less( if you cant upgrade to Ios 6 and above) , I find that not only can I not gain access to the October edition I now find I cannot gain access to the September and previous edition I have paid for ! I have paid for subscription up to November 2014 so I have lost out on £5.98 so I am not a happy bunny!!

Apparently you now have to reload previous purchases but have not been able to download latest edition despite paying for it. Not impressed.

Still as bad as the day app was launched
Hours after purchase my download is stuck at 95%, and that's only when the app isn't force closing constantly.
Tried reinstalling app, tried restore purchases but always the same. Can't believe an app as badly written and as badly managed as this ever made it to market. I reviewed this app months ago and nothing has changed.
I shall be reading Hornby magazine in future - at least their app works.

Painfully slow to download issues
This is probably the slowest app to download a magazine issue. I have no idea where they are hosting these files, but I'll be a pensioner before I actually get to read the magazine (I'm in my forties now)! Come on guys, it can't be that hard to sort this issue out!

Very, very slow
I would be perfectly happy with this if it wasn't so painfully slow to download! Took over a day to download an issue and nothing I do manages to speed it up. Please fix soon....

Good mag, basic interface.
Magazine content is fine, but viewing choices severely restricted. You get whole page or 1 level of zoom! No pinch to zoom to see photos in more detail or to read small text at a comfortable size. Very limited.

Very basic
This is a basic page for page copy of the printed magazine with some dull videos. To Make it worse some pages are blurred so very difficult to read, even when zoomed in.
Stay away until fixed.

Some lovely additional features
This mag well takes me back to my youth, when I loved collecting Hornby kit and building model railways.
It's an enhanced version of the print mag, with extra video and slick additional picture galleries. Functionality seems good and no problems navigating or with download. Enjoyed it! More please
