Ghost play

2 in the night , Udemy starts playing my last video automatically. Without me doing anything.
I get up and exit the app. 2 minutes later , it is playing again even though the app has been exited.
Don’t know if this is a Udemy or Apple bug, but I deleted this app.

Cannot Cast From An iPhone

Trying to cast from an iPhone to the widely used Airscreen app on the fire tv is proving impossible. The content simply does not play and I do not have this issue casting any other form of video from other apps.
I would like to watch my videos on a larger screen without the clunky overhead of using a browser.

The app does not have the facilities to make the PDF documents available, they go missing after being downloaded and when you try to retrieve them, it does not work, even after being downloaded they go missing after a while.

No longer usable

Sadly what was one of my favourite ways to study is no longer usable with the removal of the ability to take screenshots. I use to watch courses and enter screenshots and written notes in to quick notes on my ipad. Without this ability it is of little use to me.

Pop out window issues

There’s no easy way to submit a bug report, choosing the support option in the app links to a webpage where I have to sign in again…
The pop out window reverts back to x1 speed when I pause and then play again. I then have to go into the app, change the video speed to x1 and then back to my desired speed and then click the pop out button and then go back to my app of choice, without pausing it, just to have it play at the desired speed again.

Good content, poor app connectivity.

Getting fed up seeing “Sorry! We cannot load the lecture” on iPad.
It tells you to check the internet connection or download the content. If you try the latter it cancels itself after a few seconds.
All other apps use the network fine and the web browser Udemy version works at the same time as the app fails.

Can’t make notes with screenshots on ipad because of DRM

I study by taking creating an apple quick note, having that open and when I find slide with nuggets of info I like to take a screenshot , add to the notes and then write about it.
But when I take screenshots the screenshots are blank due to DRM.
I know one thing I won’t be buying any more courses while that feature is in place

Awful UI

Update app doesn’t work on latest iOS release

I had to update my app to be able to view my new online course. I previously had an old version with the old orange logo.
Since updating the app on my iPhone 11, on the latest iOS install, when I open it the screen just appears white screen and I’m unable to use the entire app. A huge bug in the app here.

Great service, average app

Udemy has some great courses, but the app isn’t great. Firstly, when viewing downloaded videos it runs incredibly hot, and chews through the battery — although it’s fine when streaming. Second, Airplay is broken. You can cast to an Apple TV, but as soon as you close the app or lock your phone, the stream is lost. This means you have to keep tapping your phone screen every few minutes to make sure it doesn’t lock. This is all the more annoying as the Apple TV app is completely non-functional and there’s no Roku app.

Constantly trying to make a sale, not letting me learn

The priority of this app has always been to encourage me to buy more courses, not enabling me to continue with the learning I have already started.
Normally I can get over this, until todays Black Friday dialog, which can only be “cancelled” by tapping the shop button. It’s annoying and jarring and I think it’s really bad.

Too many easy to find bugs

I had a bug where I could not specify the resolution for the video, I updated the app. Now I see only the first 50 videos of the course.

Bugs fest

Its a shame how Udemy can have such good content for such good prices (thanks to the teachers publishing with them) and have the worst (in my opinion) video interface. Its disgraceful how they dont make a priority of improving it.
The saddest part is that even if you access through web browser its still a headache to get the video you need to access from a course you’ve paid for.
Im a software tester and I don't come across so many bugs on apps that haven't even been launched yet as much as with this one.
Very frustrating experience when you’re trying to learn something as it puts you off and brings your motivation down.

Notification Adverts

Udemy seem to think their app is an appropriate vector to harass users with constant promotional notifications. This is compounded by the fact that they don’t distinguish between adverts & useful notifications, such as when a course Q&A question is asked/responded to, so the ads can’t be disabled without missing important notifications.

Doesn’t work properly with chromecast

Connects to chromecast and showing progress on app, but no video on tv except top lines flashing. Same results for standalone chromecast and google tv with chromecast. Used to work. Chromecast works fine with YouTube and other apps.
Also mess up course progress on app: not update or reset sometimes. No such problem in browser.

Terrible App but good lessons

The mobile app on IOS is rubbish. Constantly logs you out then errors trying to log back in. Have to then use reset password to log in even though I use the same password? But a lot of the time password reset does not work either.

Mediocre on the iphone/iPad, awful on applets, ? Pricing

The iphone /iPad app gets it one I suppose. But not for casting. Which is bad because you have ™ cast. The applets app is literally a launch screen to download the phone app and cast to your tv. It doesn’t continue playback of the course when backgrounded - if you background it it loses track of progress, it’s just meh. Not the worst and not the best.
That would have earned it 3 stars - rounding up but for the fact this weirdo bait and switch new user sign up stuff. You’re so anxious to get a new users you sell a £499 course at £15 or whatever but you don’t apparently want to keep customers. It’s a weird business model I don’t much care for. Price something, move on. Subscription model for learning is really the way to go on this type of site. I don’t need to own a course forever unless I can transfer it to someone, which I can’t

Keeps Failing to Play Videos and Won’t Download

I have been trying to follow a number of courses on this app and it works for a short time then randomly fails to play a next lecture. Downloading just fails constantly so I am unable to work offline.
I’ve checked my internet connectivity and there are no problems with any other app or connection from the same device.
These bugs are seriously undermining the usefulness of this platform and whilst the training material I’ve seen so far is good I am wondering how long I should pursue this without going to another provider.

For god’s sake Udemy!! Put your hand in your pocket and hire some decent app developers or save us the torment and pull this piece of cr@%.
It’s been years and the performance of this app is still bad.
I’m on an M1 iPad Pro and your app STILL managed to deplete the battery and bring up the low power warning WHILE IT WAS PLUGGED INTO ITS CHARGER!?! 🤷🏾‍♂️
Oh, and it also has a MEMORY LEAK that forced my iPad Pro to complain that it has to close background apps due to lack of memory!?!
Wow! That’s some spectacularly bad coding if you ask me.

Subtitles are very small to read on IPad

I want to change the font and style for the subtitles but I could not find in the Udemy app. I use setting on my iPad which change the style to display extra large, but Udemy refused to follow this guideline and show very small.
I am worried about the accessibility for Udemy need to be more flexible and more accessible for Deaf and Disabled people. Please update and I will change the rate.

Bad App

I’m constantly getting low memory error messages when playing videos asking me to close unused applications. Using Airplay doesn’t work very well at all. When I click on my courses and click on a course it more often than not starts playing a video I’ve already seen, it’s as if the app didn’t remember the last few videos I watched in the last session.
Another thing I’ve just discovered is if you download a lecture it doesn’t work with airplay.

Courses great - app atrocious!

The courses are really great, the app on the iPhone delivers one of the most frustrating user experiences ever. Downloaded content doesn’t always play, online content doesn’t always play, having to constantly restart the app.

Excellent App

I’ve heavily invested in courses via Udemy and haven’t been disappointed. Engaging topics, engaging lecturers and superb platform for delivery.
One suggestion though, the ability to add discount codes via the app, currently this capability is only offered via the desktop site!

It’s good, does what it needs… But not what it says.

Unfortunately this is a review for the app, not the courses otherwise it would be an immediate 5 Star… After downloading my course for offline, it turns out that doesn’t do anything. Still can’t access the course offline. What is that about? Then online or offline, I cannot open or view any references on my iPad. Great Courses available but unfortunately that’s not the work of the App Developers. The app is relying on the courses which are offered. Which until the app is fixed, are quite difficult to effortlessly follow along. Otherwise, best WEBSITE for online courses and such with some amazing tutors!

The site has some really good content but the apps are terrible

I use Udemy regularly and there is some very good content. However recently (5 Jun 2021) I am finding my ability to view the content significantly difficult. The apps are buggy, difficult to use and recently gobbling memory really terribly to the point where the apps are crashing regularly. Apps == iPhone and iPad.
The Apple TV app isn’t even an app, why does this even exist? You can air play to the TV without it. Although that causes additional memory issues and is currently a super flakey experience.

Great library, poor app.

The courses available, and all those I’ve used so far, are great. I’m particularly interested in 3D software (Blender, etc.), and have completed numerous excellent courses. So I’ve given four stars to avoid putting anyone off joining Udemy. But the app is currently very flaky for me.
In particular, I get regular “insufficient memory” errors on an iPad Pro 10.5”. No other video streaming app has ever struggled with memory, so I don’t know why this one should. Also, the sound periodically drops out. Rewinding the video, the sound drops out again at the same point. Need to select a different lecture then return to the original one again, hoping it resumes where it left off. Or, if a lecture is paused for a few seconds, it blacks out and won’t restart, again needing a switch to and from other lectures. Possibly other apps doing background refresh?
The app is updated regularly, so hopefully these issues will be resolved sometime, but for now it’s pretty vexing.

Excellent courses that are let down by buggy app

I’ve been using Udemy for years and have learned a lot. The courses I’ve purchased have generally been excellent and have brought me up to speed quite quickly with various topics.
I’m not sure what has happened to the app but I find the screen keeps going black and becoming unresponsive when watching videos and I have to close and restart the app. This becomes frustrating quite quickly - it used to be excellent as well.

Bug in the app

I really like Udemy, I had been taking courses with them for years. However I am a new user of the app.
When watching a course on my iPad and pausing the video, if the screen locks, when unlocking the video turned black and it can’t be played. I have to restart the app every time this happens. I though it was because of my internet, but this has been happening for the last few months, even when my connection is excellent. I think it is a bug, hope they fix it for future updates. Otherwise the app would be a 5 stars.

VERY disappointed.

Review will be changed when Udemy fix my problem. The main disappointed thing is how difficult it is to find in-app support or places to report problems within the app. I’m left with no choice but to complain here. Up until a few days ago things worked fine (for a few months), then I receive notification that a question has been answered and each time I navigate to the Q&A section of my course the app immediately/automatically closes before I can view anything. What’s that about eh?...so annoying. Works on my desk top, but I have the app on my phone so I can check in whilst on the move. Shall give a higher rating the sooner this glitch is responded to. Many bugs and poor reliability

While most Udemy courses I’ve used are really informative, the App is a huge disappointment and forced me to transfer to using the web version.
There are many bugs; videos stop unexpectedly, when swapping out of the app and returning videos will often not continue playing without a reload or waiting a long period of time. Videos jump about unexpectedly. Marking of completed videos is not consistent and there is no way to check a video as complete without watching to the very last second unlike online.
With a site offering a plethora of videos on making apps, perhaps the developers should pay for a few courses themselves? Ouch.

Generally good but could be better in areas

I have no problems with the content on Udemy, although their discounting strategies could be questioned sometimes, but we all know that.
My biggest problem is the searching capability through a purchased course. Particularly one with a lot of content. As it stands the only way to search for a course video is to scroll down a list. Lots of people not only complete the course in a structured way but also use the course as reference material, and having a better way to find the reference course you need would be very beneficial. Ie, key word search function.
The website is lacking this feature also.

Apple TV app no longer working !

Very poor experience, Apple TV app no longer working and even though have asked for help / info via multiple platforms just go unanswered. If your APPLE TV app is no longer supported GET IT REMOVED from the store. If this is their quality of service for support I really don’t trust their actual product offering would be any better so will take my business elsewhere. Can’t believe in this day and age of online reviews they wouldn’t be mindful of consequences of negative reviews ! Suggest you send your IT / APP development dept on an ITIL course !

Well I’ve bought a few from here and you can get some good offers on the content, with this and google I think you could learn most things in the modern world from 3d printing to playing a instrument. I collect content if it becomes by a offer even though I’m not at that level yet on what I’m learning, if it’s a £50 normally and you get a offer for £10 I will then buy it even though I won’t use it for a few months... it won’t run out or expire it’s the greatest thing for people like me being dyslexic it takes 3 to 4 times longer to learn things, so you can take your own time in learning without the added pressure of it expiring on you. I bought more today and about to dive into this learning curve again.. remember knowledge is key.

If you want to use the Apple TV app then forget about it. Impossible to sign in to your account. Even tried password reset to simple passwords, nothing. Fails to sign in each time. Can sign in on web, iPhone app, iPad app - cannot sign in on appleTV app. So only option is to cast from phone which means videos do not auto play to next one - have to keep opening phone when a video lecture completes.
In short - quite a bad experience!
Judging by the amount of 1 star reviews on the Apple TV app I guess I’m not the only one with issues. Perhaps the Apple TV app has been abandoned? If so then they should delete it from the store and not waste people’s time.

Great value

I’ve bought a few Udemy courses when they’ve been on sale. Almost all of them have been top quality and the I’ve still learnt things and got value for money from those that weren’t 5 stars. As a former educator myself I can tell you that these courses are great. You can learn an awful lot for not much money.

Even with all my background apps closed the app still crashes.

The app will sometimes prompt you to close background apps to help it run. However even when I do close every application except the Udemy app. The app will still randomly crash and send my back to my home screen. Not to mention the app will sometimes just freeze altogether. The courses are great but the app on my 2018 iPad Pro is just terrible. It’s almost impossible to watch a course without having to restart the app every five to ten minutes. And I’ve already closed all the other apps in the background. Definitely needs to be fixed.

Apple TV App not working

Paid for some courses to learn some vector apps on my iPad and was looking forward to firing up the app on Apple TV and following along on my iPad.
Not sure how I can watch the videos and learn the app on the same device constantly switching between Udemy and the app or apps in question would be a royal pain in the backside.
Lucky iOS 14 PIP has come to my rescue, and I am happy with the iPad version of Udemy, hence 3 stars, you guys really need to sort out the Apple TV App though.

At udemy you can learn a wide variety of skills for everyday life, job applications and a lot more. I’m using Udemy to learn cyber security and ethical hacking, I’ve bought maybe 40+ classes and I’m learning a lot. No frills, no games no gimmicks, just good tuition

A great value teaching programme for a beginner to quickly get going on the piano. Nothing flashy, animated or game orientated here. The visuals are very simple so younger learners may find it a little dry. Each lesson has some reading material followed by a video to consolidate it and demonstrate at the piano. The video tuition is really clear and learning progresses at a good pace.

Worst Video App Ever

Trying to use this on a iPad and it is the worst app ever! Ignores touches etc; so it becomes impossible to do pausing rewinding, full screen etc. Constantly having to kill the app off. Trying to use it while doing a piano course and it is complete ruining the course. Maybe I should put a desktop on top of the piano instead! Why do Udemy continually treat its customers this way, allowing such a bad app to continually ruin courses? This app has been causing issues for a number of years and still nothing is done to change the developers. Update 2020 - after a number of years I tried this app again and nothing has changed. On the iPad app I tried downloading a complete course and the app did not download all videos and some videos only partly downloaded. The download are also slow. I believe the issue is with the app trying to download everything at once. Gave up, I won’t try again. I will continue streaming on a laptop.

Took the cash then locked me out of the account

Created a Udemy account via my PC and bought two courses. Then I downloaded the iPad app so I could access the material via iPad as well. Tried to log on via the app (rather than PC) but wouldn’t accept my credentials. Went back to the PC to change the password in case I had mistyped it, tried to change it but then got the message “too many login attempts in one hour” and now apparently locked out. Went to support but none of the existing options applied to my problem. No obvious other way to contact support so now I’m stuck and writing this on the off-chance that someone from Udemy might read this and arrange a refund. I don’t want to access the course material - this experience has completely put me off the idea - I just want my money back please.

Good courses, poor app development

Still having some trouble with freezes in iPad app. One annoying bug is that when i try to maximise the video window it often won’t respond and i have to quit the app and reload to get it to work. This doesn’t always do the trick and i end up doing it repeatedly. Not ideal. There seems to be some improvement on downloading pdfs though so that’s a good thing.

Needs split screen

Devs,
Please, PLEASE implement the ability use iOSs split screen function with this. It kills me that I have to keep switching back and forth between my note taking app and Udemy because it doesn’t allow for split view. I would deem this as a massive priority as udemy is an educational platform where the premise is for people to learn and take notes...
I could have passed on the PiP player but it does not allow for scrubbing or time skipping which are essential in my eyes.
Fix both of those and you’ll be onto a winner 👍

Great if you use it right

Lots of really good courses. Make sure you check out the previews to see what the quality is like as lots of courses are really badly put together or the instructors are difficult to understand. Ratings are pretty good indicator. Very good for technical skill learning and useful to get certificates... has helped me progress my career

Good content, dreadful app

The training content available on Udemy is good. Watching it on their website is fine. Watching it on this app is an awful experience. Half the time, the app will play a video for a few seconds, then give a bogus message about low memory on the device. When the video finally does play, want to make it full screen? The button is poorly placed and very small, so that will take a few attempts too.
The good news is, there’s a course on Udemy that can help your developers make it better...

Great content; buggy iPad app

I do mostly coding courses and like to use my iPad as a second screen to play the course while I work through the lessons. But the iPad app is so buggy. Sometimes it doesn’t record what lessons I have completed, when I try to suspend the app and go to the home screen the lesson keeps playing. Today, the app bugged and when I restarted the app I’m UNABLE TO ACCESS LOTS OF THE LESSONS ON THE COURSE I HAVE PAID FOR AND AM CURRENTLY WORKING THROUGH. I can still access the lessons on a web browser on a computer though.
Really inconvenient, please fix soon

Great software allows me to continue leaning away from the laptop.
I previously reported a crash during loading and the developer suggested a couple of things, but as it happened the software started working again without having to do anything. No idea what was wrong, but it’s great to have the developers respond so quickly. Thanks developers, great work. Stay safe! 🌈

Fantastic courses, terrible app, stupid pricing

Doesn't support side by side splitscreen mode with other apps on ipad, is buggy, suffers from a clunky interface, managing downloaded content is a massive pain, and overall it's just a massive disappointment compared with what it could have been. I'd love to study udemy courses while out and about on my ipad but their app is such an incredible liability that I stick to books and keep my Udemy courses for viewing on my desktop at home where they behave marginally better. Their perpetual sale/nosale system reveals a severe lack of maturity on the part of executives who appear terrified of customers being able to just go to udemy and be able to buy a course at their convenience. Lost count of the number of times I would have found a course useful, but by the time it was on sale at a reasonable price again my need for it was gone because I had already picked up a book instead.

Very poor offline experience

I got the app primarily to view videos offline during my commute (where the mobile data performance is pretty dreadful).
Having downloaded the entire course, and checked that all the icons show success, I was expecting to be able to view uninterrupted. Sadly this is not the case, it looks like more than 50% of the videos actually failed to completely download, even though no error messages or icons were shown at any point when I downloaded them.
When I watch the videos they typically just get a minute or so in and then freeze. This is very frustrating and therefore my main option for viewing these courses simply isn’t feasible.
Unfortunately this means even though they are excellent, I probably won’t invest in any more courses until I learn of a better offline application.

Slow and Clunky

So I love the Udemy library. The variety of tutorials is awesome. The problem is the iPhone app. Loading up takes a very long time even on a good WiFi connection. The main issue I have is downloading tutorial videos so far have proved pointless. They stop mid way and won’t play. So initially I thought I’d download tutorials to watch on the bus and make the most out of my time, problem is launching the app on 4G takes forever to load, then navigating to my library and the video I want takes a painfully long time. Once I finally watch it the video can’t be watched to the end because all the downloads are corrupted somehow. Waste of time. Then I’d go home and try to finish the video on a good WiFi connection (assuming the issue may have been poor network and not the video itself) however the video stops at the same point and I can’t see it all until I delete the download.
Please sort this out. I thought it would have been as smooth as something such as the Netflix app, where I can download successfully and watch easily, even in flight mode

iOS No Splitscreen

The Udemy app on the iPad is incredibly frustrating. They have still not enabled splitscreen functionality which makes following along with a course cumbersome and difficult. I recently subscribed to Skillshare which has some of the same content and allows for splitscreen which means that I can watch the instructor’s actions and do them myself on the relevant app without constant up and sideswiping.
How can Udemy possibly justify this as it is so clearly both possible from their end and beneficial for their users.
I won’t be buying any of their iPad related courses until they can be bothered to implement a feature that has now been available for years.

Course Download Offline viewing AHHHHHHHHHH

Writing this review when I should be watching a course on the train. Course offline download never seems to work reliability for me. Obviously using the latest app from the store. Restarted app / my ipad, but so temperamental. Also never sure if it has downloaded until I try and watch with limited internet.

Good but a few annoying app bugs

The apps generally pretty good, interface seems ok, and courses easy to get to, plus they carry on from where I left off on the PC which is great. I’m currently going through a programming course but one annoying bug is every time I reach an interactive section the iPad screen goes blank, and there’s absolutely no way to get out of the blank screen other than swipe closing the app. Also when zooming a video to full screen it always flips upside down and I have to physically move the iPad to get it to spring round! Please fix these issues and it’ll be great.

Utterly frustrating

I hardly ever write reviews but honestly, they do need to get their act together so hoping my voice will add to the other ones and they do something about it. The app is unusable, everything people say below is true.
You receive error messages about not enough memory constantly (that I have never received from any other app);
Things take forever to load and keep freezing every so often making it nearly impossible to follow;
If you decide to download the content and watch it offline to go round the freezing above, guess what? It won’t work either! The download that took forever to happen will be excluded if you are trying to watch it, I am not sure why.
Honestly, I was quite enjoying the course, it is great content, but use their browser platform and not the app as you will be highly frustrated by it.
Someone said in January that they were already fixing it 3 months prior, guess it now makes more than 6 months they said they would fix and nothing has been done yet.
Very disappointed.

Needs a Complete Overhaul

It's a real shame the app isn't built by some of the people who provide some of the tutorials.
While some of the course content is excellent, unfortunately being able to watch the courses is often near on impossible, especially on I pads. Tutorials take forever to load, if at all? And if you're lucky enough to get it up and running? It more often than not constantly crashes.
A more stable and smoother user experience needs to be a priority. I am sure if Coursera, and Udacity can offer excellent user interfaces, with a smooth and pleasant operation then Udemy can too?
Here's hoping.
Udemy have recently updated the app with a new user interface, so now the app does not work at all on my iPad, I have spent a lot of money on tutorials that I now cannot watch. I imagine many people cannot go out and purchase the newest iPads? So will be left in the same situation? Doesn't even work in chrome or Firefox in browser, so they have actually managed to make an already terrible app, even worse. Congratulations.

Very very very bad app

Tested on 3 different iPhones and always run into issues. I try to use this app since 1 year and despite many updates there are always the same issue
1) problem with downloading content - no matter how short or long videos are, some lessons can’t be downloaded
2) you can’t download course as a whole with one click as most probably it won’t download. You have to download lesson after lesson but it’s still not guaranteed
3) even if you downloaded something it doesn’t mean you will be able to watch it (I.e.) in the tube. Some lessons just never starts and guy can try to close and open app as many tines as you won’t - you will not be able to watch it

Not good enough for paying customers

If I'm going on the tube I have to start playing my courses before I lose signal.
If I don't then the app will just hang when I click my courses.
I will get a hanging page on my journey somehow: the courses page or a video page. It will hang and hang with no spinner or error message.
The app devs saying "it's a known issue" then why don't you log errors, tell the user there's something wrong?
Tips for users
And when you get a download glitch then reinstalling works. And if your download circle for a video loads in one pop (rather than gradually) then that'll be a dud file. Delete and try again.
Tips for the developers
Download all - flaky. All but unusable
Download section - flaky. Pretty unusable.
Download individual video - flaky. 9/10 success.
Watching video with connection - flaky. Mostly ok if you have downloaded video already. Very slow to start first vid sometimes
Watching video without connection - flaky. Error rate: a 14 minute journey always has a fatal error
And what's with the clunky "hey I've just had a memory leak warning, I'm going to close this bit" message? That doesn't make anyone feel safe or that they're using a quality product.

Great courses, Glitchy app & dodgy invoices

The courses are wonderful & I’ve managed to learn allot in a short time thanks to its platform! Sadly, the app makes it difficult to make use of some instructors materials combined with dodgy invoices, below is a list of my issues with the app;
•I’ve recently been double & triple charged for non-existent courses.
•sometimes there’s no course name on the invoice; how do you remember paying what for which course? especially when the price vanishes after purchase.
•I see them both on my mobile & tablet app; but when I log onto my desktop none of my courses are there, which makes it difficult to access any material that’s only desktop compatible.
• be mindful of what you click on from the list; look closely, because the course doesn’t always match with the link you see in the list but is actually for the one above or below it, and so you need to click titles above/below in order to find the one you intend to take.
To avoid further strange bills I’ve blocked payments from my card for this app, and I’m sad to say altho there are many brilliant instructors on Udemy, I will not risk buying their courses until i know these issues are resolved.

Keeps stalling

The course selection is great and I’m trying to learn two things at the moment, BUT
I downloaded everything onto my iPad pro so I could use it offline, and none of the lessons will load. They only work if I delete the download and use them online, and even so, they stall constantly. There’s nothing wrong with my internet connection, it’s something to do with the app.
It’s frustrating when you’re trying to get into a lesson but it just keeps stopping.
I can see from past reviews that this is a known problem, and the developer said they were working on it three months ago.
FYI - You haven’t fixed it yet.

Good courses but random offline mode (either online)

So frustrated after every release... I have ton of Udemy courses and when I buy a new one and download everything, iPhone 8 and iPad Mini 2 get stuck when using “Download All”. Ok I use Download section instead. This morning, I open my course in the tube and nothing works. Just a loading screen for the video player! ipad problem maybe, let’s try iPhone 8 and same thing!!!! When’ve got the again connection, I tried the played them and just loading like offline! Kill the app, reboot devices, nothing! Just bad testing before releases and you never know if it’s good or not to update the Udemy app... I’m tired guys!

Buggy and slow

Within the first ten minutes of using the app it loaded the wrong lecture, then became unresponsive when I tried to change it. The lecture kept playing even when I exited the app, so I closed it fully and reopened it. The next document in the series wouldn't load at all, just the title and no content. Then the next lecture wouldn't load, saying I had no internet connection, but I could access other online features on my iPad. There is no way to reload the lecture that I can see, so I had to close the app fully again. However it still says no lectures can be loaded.

Unable to purchase course

On Saturday morning all excited about New Years resolutions and eager to learn a skill I decided to purchase a Udemy course on python which had been recommended to me by an uncle. My grievance is not with the course itself, I’ve never even tried it. I paid for it on Saturday morning but when I checked the ‘ my courses tab’ it was unable to be found. I then tried to purchase it again and left the app open for a full hour in which it just said ‘processing’ even with a very stable WiFi connection. I then restarted the app and tried to purchase it again and started receiving ‘you have already purchased this in app purchase’ messages from the App Store. It is now Monday afternoon. Still the same messages, still no course.

App is having some huge error handling issues. Content of Udemy is great

Hi I am using an iPhone XS Max iOS 12.x, even though the user experience from a point of GUI the app is offering is very appealing and easy to use and navigate and Udemy is a very good concept and source for learning, when I try to watch a lecture from one of my courses through the app it loads up the recent one I’ve been watching and then rarely jumps to the next ones throwing me an error that I have no internet connection while I clearly do. Same spiel when I try to load a different lecture other than the pre loaded one.
I tried using it over WPA WPA2 WiFi’s and over 4G mobile data connection and the error is consistent, appearing most of the times on mobile data, restarting the app and clearing the cache solves the issue most of the time but just for one lecture, then 90% of the time it fails to load the next one.

Horrible user experience

Good course contents, which I would be happy to spend good amount of money to buy more if the app is working properly. But unfortunately, the iPhone app is horrible to use and I definitely won’t use this app anymore once I finish the course that I bought (£10 that I whole-heartedly regretted spending). How horrible is it? Where to start... downloaded content never loaded offline or even online (shocking!) - and believe me, I’ve tried every single tricks listed in their FAQ but none of them worked... oh and the app would crash multiple times on start for no reason... There are just so many similar apps out there and not worth wasting your money and time on this one... stay away!

Doesn’t seem to work properly with Apple TV 3rd Gen...

The iPhone app seems to work well enough, I like that courses can be downloaded so they are accessible whilst offline / on Cellular Data.
I have been having issues with using Udemy on my Apple TV 3rd Gen; for some reason after a few videos it decides to stop working entirely? I know that the Apple TV 4th Gen+ has its own Udemy App but it would be nice for the previous generation would work properly, I don’t seem to have any issues using other apps via AirPlay!

Extremely useful!

Full of AMAZING quality courses made by people who are passionate about their subject matter. I am very tired of spending £30+ on utterly terrible courses that claim to be accredited and barely touch the surface and aren’t even spell checked. Udemy courses provide you with actual skills to use in daily life or work life at a good price. I am very happy and glad I found Udemy. The courses come with literature and files to read to support the videos and a Q&A section to ask the lecturer anything you want!

Loses internet connection

I am so disappointed with this app on my iPad Pro. I have purchased 4 courses but every time I start watching or even before I start watching (just opening the app) the internet connection is lost. I have to keep going back to settings to select and re establish the connection. This is the only app that does this.
