I miss Ogri though!
As a returning reader from years ago it’s still my favourite motorcycle mag.
Covers the things that I want and I look forward to each new issue(in digital form).
When I meet up with an old friend from the early days we still reminisce about Ogri and Malcolm and Paul Sample their creator. Bet we’re not the only ones.

Phone version is a great addition
Have been a subscriber to Bike on the iPad for a long while, always liked it, but the new iPhone edition is an added bonus.
Now I can read Bike on my phone when on a packed Tube without having to get my iPad out.

Works well for me!
I’ve been using this app for over a year now, initially in addition to the mag through the post, but recently renewed digital only to save money as I’m in Spain. I’ve been very impressed from the start & enjoy the extra photos & easy expanding of the pics & text on my iPad. Thoroughly recommended.

I had a problem with the App freezing after only 3 pages on my iPad Air so I originally gave the app 1 star but since then Bike mag have been in touch with me explaining that one particular edition had the freezing problem which they have now fixed. If the digital edition had additional video content then I would have given this app 5 stars.

Disappointed
Having struggled with the MCN app, it appears there is a trend with Bauer Media apps. As per other comments it freezes at page 3 when scrolling across, but you get beyond page 3 if you use the drop down menu. However it’s should be slick and seamless, and it’s not !

Useless
I have subscribed to this digital subscription for over a year and it has been great. Now however it is actually completely useless. I can’t get past the 3rd page as it freezes up. When I re-start it is exactly the same. Completely useless!

Total disappointment
Dreadful update. Locks up on most pages. Was much better before this update. Do not update unless you have a new iPad. Mine is an iPad Air and it has made subscription a total waste of money. I will cancel.

New update is much worse than the previous one
The only positive is you can view in portrait mode. No longer able to retain the previous page you were looking at, goes back to the index page as soon as you close the iPad and reopen it. Still got lots of bugs and typos, sections which don't scroll or swipe, pages that crash randomly. Does nobody ever proofread this edition?

Terrible
It is such a shame, Bike was one of the best magazines available in digital format. They had truly embraced the concept and were streets ahead of the competition. The articles, writing, photography are all as top-notch as ever.
And then disaster strikes. The magazines just don't download. It took over a month to successfully download last month's edition. At least they have sorted the problems I thought. Then this month's issue was released. It won't download.
An absolute tragedy that what was the very best has now become the very worst.
Please fix it.

Happy to report that the app is back to working almost perfectly again. The only improvement could be if the current magazine opened on the last page read, but apart from that, lovely!

Fantastic magazine, let down by a rubbish app
The latest update has trashed this app. Can't download my latest issue to read it even after deleting and reinstalling - not sure why I'm paying for a service I can't use. The magazine itself is brilliant and I'd recommend it to anyone, which is why it's so frustrating that the app itself is SO broken!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
It was bad enough once I installed it, trying to download old content took forever, three times per edition. This morning it's time for a new edition and I've had to delete and re install the app 3 times, still no luck and technical support is a joke. This could finally be the time I don't renew my subscription...
And now there's a new update, it's just as bad as before! I've re installed the app 3 times and I'm still unable to download an edition. March is the last edition on my subscription, I think it's the last edition I'll try to read...
Really sorry but you've screwed up the best magazine for a'storefront'upgrade.

Complete bike crash of an app update :-(
I've long held up the "Bike" app as THE way to deliver magazine content on a mobile device......and then this update arrived :-(
It's horrific! The change to a portrait format completely ruins the experience on an iPad and if you turn the iPad to a landscape view 90% of the content on the page disappears! Instead you have enormous text and an appalling scrolling experience as it feels like you're having to scroll the page down to read each paragraph. Previously the landscape format meant very little scrolling as pretty much all the page content was visible on screen.
I will be cancelling my digital subscription shortly and going back to paper if this isn't resolved soon. It's actually ruining an otherwise fantastic publication.
It also locks up and freezes multiple times when in use completely ruining the reading experience as it will often freeze mid page meaning you have to close the app and restart and then try to find what you were reading on a stupidly long page by scrolling down......multiple times.....again!!
Honestly, this is one of the worst upgrades I've experienced as it's so utterly disappointing.

Devastated at this reincarnation of what was a wonderful app. It simply doesn't work! I'm sympathetic to an update with a few more adverts, but Bike, please sort this out!!

Hopeless
This was a fantastic app and a masterclass on how magazines should be read on an iPad instead of the usual scanned versions.
However, this new update has rendered it useless.
The content constantly freezes and it took forever to download the last issue.
I won't be buying anymore until I start seeing better reviews.
So glad I didn't take out a subscription!!

New app is awful, uses 4.5 GB to store one issue. Had to delete app to clear memory. I've not read another mag since I started riding. Seriously considering my options right now.

What a disaster
Dreadful new app. Lost all my past copies. Will not allow me to download past copies I have paid for, let alone the current version. They do not seem to be able to find any solution despite numerous e mails. I will not be renewing my subscription, which is a pity as I enjoyed the mag.

Latest update a disaster
I agree with others... The old app was great!
Quick to load, easy to access, low storage size etc...
And now... It's a total disaster.
Keeps freezing on a page, keeps crashing. It makes reading a magazine totally impossible.
DO NOT BUY THIS APP !!!
Did nobody try it out on all types and ages of Apple products before it was released. It's enough to make you go back to buying the paper version.
Please please please fix this Mr Bauer.

Big Step Backwards
The old app was lovely, the best implementation of a magazine I'd seen for a tablet. This version seems to have gone backwards, it's now more like paging through a PDF file.
It also freezes constantly, as you scroll to the bottom of a page it just gets stuck and you have to restart the app so it's no longer a joy to read the magazine.
I hope this is addressed by the next issue otherwise it's back to the paper version for me.

Great and getting better
Been a digital subscriber for over a year now. Each edition gets better and better in terms of layout and functionality. Viewed on HD the detail is superb. Content has become better, too. Not in the sense of editorial content but a year ago any extra publication that came in, or with, the paper magazine was not available to digital subscribers. Last month, the event guide insert was available. That's progress.

There's only one thing worse than this app
That's the incompetence of the people you email to ask for help when it does not load your subscription. My advice - walk to your news agent and just buy a copy at least that why your bloody pressure won't go through the roof trying to communicate with these cretins.

Great magazine
I really like the digital Bike magazine; there are lots of interactive features such as video and audio links which you can't get in the hard copy of course. I have never had any problems with account or downloads. I like not having magazines piling up round the house.

Great app
This is a great way to read the magazine. It's great seeing the pictures in iPad quality and as long as you have a quick read of the instructions at the front of the magazine is easy to get around. I really like all the extra little bits you can tap on to enlarge or get more info, and to me that makes it better than having the paper copy. I just wish I could get the app on my iPhone as well!

Is this progress?
Most online mags I have read are basically photos of the printed version - Bike has tried much harder to use the features of a tablet but I am not convinced this is better.
Instead of being able to look at a page and zoom to the bits you want, here you have to chase the articles around - it's more like an Easter egg hunt than an easy read.
And the price for this better world? Well £3.99 of course plus a nearly 900MB download, so it won't be hanging around on my iPad for long.
Overall, much too big, far too fussy - back to paper for me.

Best of the bike mag apps
I really like this app and unlike Ride (sister mag, same publisher) it enhances the reading experience. High res images, some rich content and nice navigation - it's a pleasure to use. There's room for improvement and it could be more interactive and contain more video content but it's a very good start that sets the standard in the typically behind the pace bike market.

Been reading the paper version of this magazine for years and was skeptical about getting it on the ipad, but I think they have done a really good job of providing a cool tablet experience without losing anything from the paper version

Bike mag app
I been a bike reader since the second copy in 1970's. I now work abroad and I have to pay up to 9 quid to get it. So Happy to find bike on line so I installed the app for my iPad and subscribed for one year . Honestly the experience in not good ,I have to wait until early in the month to get it. No message to say there is a new edition. It is always a pain to down load. I quite like it when I finally get it although read a hard copy is much better. Also my download is not allowed in some country's like China.
