Racing pages not as good as other daily papers information used to be second to none. Not any more Sunday racing pages are very poor and badly laid out Saturday racing pages are better but still not as good others been very disappointing for the last 10 years must do better.

Monthly subscription did not renew even with plenty of funds in Apple account. Been subscribed for many years. Maybe they are trying to get rid of the people who are getting it cheaper having being long time subscribers.

I was locked out of the app but when I’m trying to get back in I’m being asked for my subscription number which I don’t know?
I have wrote to the help page twice and I have not received any response whatsoever.

No edition, no explanation
Yet again, a faulty download. This happens far too often. Today’s was just the front and back covers. Useless.
Update (Oc 2) no edition at all today, and no explanation. Not good enough. Update (April 10). Just when you think it can’t get worse. Today I got a download that consists of just the front and back pages. So I deleted the app, re-booted the iPad, re-downloaded the app, then what appeared was the Irish edition. Deleted all downloaded issues, repeated the whole process and got just the front and back pages again. What a complete mess this new app is. Back to the drawing board, MGN, and how about some compensation for your customers? What on earth has the Mirror done to it its app? The new version is a complete dog’s breakfast. Riddled with faults. For example, if you tap on an article to read it in plain text, you get booted back to the front page upon closing it. Photos missing or appearing over text, pages rendering badly, so you have to read a double page spread over separate pages…so many errors. For me the worst ‘improvement’ by far is to the previously excellent Quizword. They now want you to phone a premium line to pay for the answers. Not only that, the experience of filling in the puzzle is clunky and not user-friendly. I will give them a couple of weeks, to see if they listen to feedback and fix things. If not, that’ll be the end of my subscription. The whole point of an app is to make it easier to access the news, making it worth paying for. If the app is this glitchy, one might as well go back to reading the standard, free, version of the paper.

11 May 2023 and another mess - just getting fed up now see another update
The one chance I have to sit and READ the news is early morning, hence buying the Mirror via the app. But yet again, all I get is the front and back pages, and not for the first time. Since the ‘big update’ of the app, what the user gets is rubbish. I’ve been a Mirror reader for about 65 years and since it came out as an app, using that but, I’m not going to continue unless there’s a real attempt at an upgrade. One other thing, the finish on the ‘upgrade’ is appalling with paragraphs cut off and text boxes still showing their outlines. Come on, make an effort!!! Why is it that, yet again, i open my paper only to find ITS A ONE PAGE PAPER AGAIN. That’s right, just the front page - nothing else. Waste of money!!!!

Absolutely Useless
Why update and ruin what was a great app and layout? Do the developers or the daily mirror actually take a look at their own app if so how can they allow just a front page and back page and nothing else to be published, we pay a subscription to read a whole paper and now you can’t even do the CROSSWORDS OR PUZZLES, bring the old format back, I’ve tried to persevere with this format but not being able to do the crosswords is unforgivable.
can you tell me how I can get a refund before I actually cancel my subscription and go to another paper? Do not download this you have been warned I will review this if I get a response but I’m not holding my breath

Not an improved app
The updated app is not instinctive like it’s predecessor. It is slow to load and often pages are not downloaded and in one case a page was partly downloaded but in a foreign language. I will persevere for a little while longer to try to adapt to the new format. If I cannot then I will move to another paper. Having continued the app has got worse. Some days it is impossible to load anything. The old version of the app worked perfectly- this new version is a complete dog’s breakfast. I have had enough. Goodbye Daily Mirror.

On line format change
Totally disappointed with new format. I find the app hard to navigate and the crosswords too small and barely legible. My enjoyment of the on line version has been ruined. Why the change? I wouldn’t have objected to a (slight) increase in prices! I’ve been reading the mirror since the year dot and would be loathe to cancel it. However the joy of logging on in the morning to read it with its ‘tell it how it is’ attitude has been overtaken by frustration. Please reconsider your changes. Or I’ll have to cancel my subscription and only buy an occasional copy when I get out. We’re not all ‘woke’ computer nerds. As no other dailies compare to the Mirror at least I will be in glorious ignorance of the state of the country!
UPDATE. After a few months I’m totally converted! I can easily access in what order I read the paper and find the crosswords much more convenient to complete in their current format. Hold my hands up and admit I was initial wrong. Must be turning into an old grump.

I have your paper downloaded to my iPad but I afraid I do not like the upgrade! When I used to touch the page I got what was written in clear print which was easy to read, this new one is not so clear! And when I was finished I tapped it and it took me back to where I was, if you do that now it takes you back to the front page. Sorry preferred the old layout!

Hello, I’ve been reading your paper for over 50 years, I went digital, and I think it’s great, I had a problem, which I wrote to you about when Apple updated on my iPad, it’s been resolved since you bought out the last update on your newspaper, what frustrates me is when you get to the last page and you’re trying to swipe and swipe to go to the next page not realising that is the last page, why don’t you use the last page message like you did on the earlier addition, like saying go back to page one on the last page. I always enjoy reading the Mirror, there's plenty of great stories, and it speaks for the working class more than any other paper I've read. The app's fantastic too, I'm blind, so thanks for making it work with VoiceOver.

Dreadful backwards step
Since this app was updated earlier this year the app is dreadful. After using this app for 10 years approx with no problems whatsoever there are now problems at least every two weeks or so. This mornings problem is that I have a front page then the football section and puzzles. No actual news or newspaper. Although more often or not the paper doesn’t download until about 10.30am. By which time it is too late for me to access it.

Struggle every morning
I transferred to digital Daily Mirror to help save on paper and because I thought it would be more reliable than physical delivery. Great when it works but that is increasingly not the case. If the newspaper can’t get its app to be reliable after all this time then I have no hope for its future. Save yourself frustration and just buy a paper from the shop.

I am disappointed today because my Daily Mirror online edition is not available my disappointment would not be so great if the Mirror was like all of the other newspaper download which are total rubbish that’s why I gave you five stars, because yo deserve it but stop letting yourself down with silly mistakes like this.

Every morning I am unable to open this newspaper and have to reinstall the app to read it. Today it is now saying ‘refresh receipt failed ‘ It says that I cannot cancel my subscription as I am already within this months subscription. If I resubscribed it would cost me £2 more a month then I am currently paying tried emailing and phoning and no reply.

Mirror review
I have used the daily mirror app for a few years now. The only thing I miss from the last update is that you used to get a message to say there is a new paper to read when you were still in yesterday’s paper but now you have to go back to home to get your new paper. Also sometimes some pages missing when you open the paper early in the morning occasionally but usually rectified later in the day. Could do with a couple more cartoon strips or more funny or happy news, but I suppose there is no news like bad news as the old saying goes.Apart from that I love my daily mirror.

Change to App.
Since the App has been changed, I have found it takes me about a third longer to read the paper. Quite often I can’t access the whole page once enlarged, it’s back to the start & try again. On the old App I could pause it & carry on, don’t seem able to do that now. I miss pages sometimes as the whole page seems to only show half. It also bounces back to the beginning for no apparent reason?
Whilst I understand people probably like choosing which part of the Newspaper they want to look at, I find it frustrating. Frequently I skip pages as it’s taking to long to try & read. The quality of the News is not in question. But the App is rubbish compared to previously.

TERRIBLE Update!
It wasn’t broke, why “fix” it?!! I have so many issues about this new update….when I go back to my iPad, it takes me to the home page, often it will go back to the start page for no reason and my enjoyment of the quick crossword has been ruined by being “timed”!!! Please give an option to go back to how it was before!!!!
This is what I wrote when it was first released, and if anything it’s got worse!!!! Unstable, slow, always crashing, black squares regularly, etc, etc. The ONLY better aspect is having page numbers….!!!!

So ridiculous now to read and do the puzzles I had been doing for more years than I can remember, this new version is absolutely so complicated for me at 88 years old to really waste the time. I feel it is nearly time to say goodbye to the same newspaper I have been a reader of for over 62 years, why you had to go so complicated I would like to know why.? This new format is very poor
Ever since this new format was introduced it has been a complete disaster,for weeks I didn’t get a Saturday paper only the supplement,then I got the supplement and no paper,it was so easy with the previous format but this paper takes an eternity to download taking an hour or more (and no it isn’t my iPad)I will give it a little more time to improve but if it doesn’t then I will go elsewhere,by the way I still don’t get the Saturday supplement.

Please sort out the new App
Have no idea who redesigned the App, but this new version is a nightmare. I have had the newspaper app for about 6 years and it was always great regarding download speed and navigation. The new app is appalling. It takes ages to download and in comparison is clumsy and very off putting. I don’t think it’s just me. Please iron out these glitches otherwise I will be cancelling my subscription n favour of other free daily news updates that you can easily get online.

I don’t know who designed this app but they certainly didn’t do a good job. No idea why they changed it but I wish they hadn’t. Half the time the paper doesn’t even download and today I got the front page and the back page. Nothing in between. Appalling updated version
What have the Daily Mirror done with this updated app. The previous version wasn’t perfect but when the updated app came out the problems really started. I have tried to persevere with the new app but it now takes ages each morning for the new edition of the paper to download. Today I have only got the front and back page of the paper. The content is less user friendly and when clicking into a news article in more detail when you click the back button it takes you back to the first page of the paper. What a shame the developers have taken such a backward step. It’s is so bad that I will have to cancel my subscription and either read the free version or change to a different newspaper.

I don’t know why you changed the the layout, it was easy to enlarge print but now it’s really rubbish. Keeps going back to start page can’t turn back a page. I’m frustrated with this and seriously thinking of canceling my subscription. Such a shame as I won’t be buying the paper version.

New app is garbage update
Since my last post this app has got worse.
It’s the slowest loading app I’ve ever had
The puzzle page is slow, clunky and the controls is for view etc are atrocious, it seems to have been written by a complete novice
If you leave the app open to check an email or text when you return to the app you are taken back to the front page and then have to navigate to where you left off
If you happen to touch the screen while reading an article it switched to read mode, this is a real plan if you have zoomed in on something and have to redo the action
If I happen to catch the left side of the screen the page disappears off the right hand side, as a left handed this happens regularly,and you have to start at the beginning again
Please give us the option to revert to the original app, it was easy to use, especially the puzzle section, the new app is harder to use, illogical and to be quite frank extremely frustrating
After the new app update my weekend edition consisted of a 56 page Love TV magazine I do not read……..where is the rest of my weekend newspaper ie the news I want to read and paid for? Other issues: No way to inspect the crosswords to show answers just a check for 1 answer doesn’t give the answer, the text in the crosswords section is too small and there’s is no way to make it bigger. Previous days solution no longer displayed with todays crossword. If I go off the app to check emails etc it’s no longer on the page I was on It only displays the front page and I have to search for where I was previously even though I don’t close the app down, this is a big step backwards. As a long time subscriber I’m really disappointed with the new app as many others will be, I’m seriously considering cancelling my subscription.

I have been a Mirror reader for many years but no longer. I have had nothing but trouble with the new version. Problems galore. It either doesn’t download or it’s takes absolutely ages. If you are not careful it sends you right back to the front page. The new layout and features on the crosswords are not user friendly. I believe they have had plenty of time to sort out these things and they have not, so needless to say I have now cancelled my subscription

I am extremely disappointed with the new version of the newspaper. I much prefer the previous version which I found to be easier to navigate. The Saturday edition only shows the TV magazine and the puzzles- no newspaper at all.

Not happy - next mornings issue of the mirror never comes up unless reboot iPad at least 3 times. When you finally get the new mirror I only have to touch iPad and the page you are reading goes off and paper goes right back to the beginning, then you have to view again, click on categories then scroll through until you get the page you were on. This happens at least 5 times average.
Never had this problem with the old app. I’ve had online mirror and Sunday mirror since it was first introduced and not impressed with new app

I do no like the new format at all. It is difficult to use and hard to understand . I normally go straight to the sports page now I can’t I have to scroll from the front page until I get to the sports page. I do not like the format of the puzzles and I also don’t like how I can’t see previous issues. Please go back to the old format. Thank you.

Usability
Having used the app, and having been a reader for many years, I am disappointed with the upgrade, the puzzles are less accessible, the presentation too small, and seem to have been reduced in number, for example there were two sudoku , and now only one.
The ‘news’ paper should be as close to fact as possible, and now seems to be opinion focused, too much energy towards Tory bashing.
It’s my opinion that the paper should energise the country towards unity, getting people to focus on core values, upholding the law, anti-litter campaigns, respect towards our fellow man etc.

Sorry but the whole paper is a shambles now. Pages missing and pages in foreign languages. Pictures missing. Random pictures in with the wrong story. A terrible reading experience and will look elsewhere.

Whoever decided that the upgrade was in the best interest of the reader was sadly mistaken. Previously I could download the newspaper smoothly without “staggering” and flick pages with ease. Flicking the pages now is erratic. The download was also shown in percentage figures at the top of the page and now that has been removed, why ??
I now have to press “view” to actually complete the download whereas before the newspaper would appear fully with the front page on display.
If it’s not broken why are you “fixing” it…..your download process is a pain in the provebial.

Puzzles
Very disappointed with the new app. No longer enjoy the crosswords as you cannot see all the clues at once. Can only check answers no help if one clue is remaining.
No 30 second brain teaser. I will continue for another month then probably cancel my membership

New app worse than the old one!
Since the app has been updated, there are no interactive puzzles and I miss being able to do the crossword online - why has this feature been disabled? Also, the pages are incredibly sensitive and if you catch one in the wrong place you get dumped back to the Home Screen, then have to find your place again. I’ve yet to find anything at all that is an improvement on the old app.

When I try to go back from reading a story on big print it goes back to the front page, not the page the story was on and so you have to go thru all pages to resume your reading of paper

New app.
Have been buying and reading the Daily Mirror since I started work in 1963, and subscribing to on line version for about 8yrs.
Find the latest update to your app very annoying in many ways, why the multiple downloads of crosswords and other subjects, also find when turning pages every second page is notchy in speed.
In my opinion you have gone backwards, think your latest app update is both annoying and user unfriendly, just wished I could get old version back.
Have you ever heard the phrase “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it”
Think your tech nerds need to do some bug fixes and bring out another update.

New Daily Mirror format
At the moment Daily Mirror is not working very well !! The crosswords solutions cannot be viewed and the layout keeps moving from a full 2 page view to a single page view. This will not do for us so unless it goes back to how we view the mirror we will be cancelling our subscriptions after many years.

So disappointed with the new app it’s gone backwards it was brilliant before why change it im 79 years old disabled my afternoon treat was a cup of coffee and my crossword but no longer can’t even get the answers they won’t come up in my opinion why didn’t you just leave well alone because the new app is no improvement whatsoever so thank you for spoiling my afternoons l am now considering cancelling my order it is just the fact I have eye issues that I’ve held back so once again thank you for ruining my afternoons it was one of the small pleasures I had

Finding the crossword difficult to do and the pages keep reverting to the front page and you have to keep scrolling to find the page you were reading. Preferred it the way it was

Preferred the old App
The switch between text and page view is a big improvement but the new puzzle section isn’t anywhere as good as the old system. Not able to inspect when unable to solve and constantly having to scroll up and down through the clues as only a few are visible at anytime due to the smaller display area.

I find the revamp of the app very frustrating please go back to the old style it was user friendly unlike this one. You have made it complicated for the sake of mending something that wasn’t broken.

I miss the original interactive puzzles . The crossword with both cryptic clues and general clues was interesting to complete. I miss the graduated soduku puzzles which had the option to check if you had made any errors as you progressed. Also I have difficulty swiping from page to page and have to resort to the pages icon to go back .

Mirror review
Everything was fine until the website app was changed (to improve??). Firstly, I had to delete the app every morning and reinstate it again! Couldn’t get the crosswords!
I complained and was given instructions as to get the new app working. Followed instructions but when the crosswords were found, the writing was really small. I tried to enlarge the writing but this didn’t happen. When I asked if there was anything I could do to enlarge the print, I was told there wasn’t. My eyesight isn’t the best, though good enough to read the mirror but as I was struggling and there was no way of changing the print on the crosswords, I have cancelled my monthly subscription.
I hope this can be rectified then I will reinstate my subscription.

Very Annoyed
For the past two days I’ve been unable to download my Daily Mirror. It gets to 9% and then says Server not available, try again later. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app several times, also turned off and on my iPad, nothing works. I look forward to reading my paper every day ….. I’m not very happy!

Still problems
I can’t believe that I’m still experiencing the problems that people were complaint about for the last two years. I can’t click on any articles to read separately, and today,yet again, there is no Sunday magazine. What am I paying for? Oh, and the help button doesn’t work. How ironic!!

Keeps asking me to subscribe when I already have.
What a pain! Don’t get me wrong, it’s fabulous value for money and it’s environmentally friendly, but it’s not a people friendly app. I try to download an older edition from 3 days ago, I get redirected and told to subscribe. So, I press the button to do so because I have no other options and get told I’m already subscribed! Frustrating is beyond the feeling. I love the idea, the format is fine but it’s bugged massively and needs serious and quick improvement. I have two months free then 6.99 a month and I don’t want to be paying for this app and have it bugging and not downloading the latest paper. Please, for my sanity, sort it quickly.
Because it has the potential to be a great app.

Tell me why I don’t like Mondays
Very unreliable app. For the past several weeks, the Monday edition fails to fully down load (it has NEVER!! been available in the morning for any edition), with message "server unavailable try again later" which is very odd because Tuesday edition downloads fully without a problem, but the server is unavailable when I immediately try Monday’s again. They have just lost a customer: no point paying for something that doesn’t work.

FANTASTIC APP FANTASTIC NEWS PAPER
Time and again there are problems with this newspaper, today Saturday when the paper is not free, they have missed out two race meetings (Lingfield and Chelmsford), on occasions the paper does not download more than a few pages. It is just not good enough it reflects badly on those employees of the paper who are responsible for producing the publication, if they cannot get their act together they should be replaced. I am not a new reader, I have been paying my monthly subscription and downloading daily for seven years, these problems are not new and it's about time that they were sorted out.
