Really Misleading....
I think it’s REALLY important to flag that InstaSize cannot fix a bug that means when you add ‘words’ to your images, they DONT translate to Instagram. They fully promote this as a feature with the APP but I can confirm it clearly does not work. I have had some communication via email saying they are fixing it, but this has gone on for months and still no solution? So with the money InstaSize earns from us they cannot fix a bug that’s been there for months?? I’m deleted the app post this review but I honestly would NOT sign up for the premium package

Batch process + Save preference
The app would be great if it would apply my last used settings when loading a new photo. I always apply the same border so if it just applied the previous settings when loading a new photo that would be great.
In addition to that as other people have said a batch processing option would be fantastic.
Please at least add in the first feature it will take you 1 hour to implement!

Almost perfect for what I use it for

I use your app entirely to apply white borders to my pictures for Instagram formatting. It’s amazing for this function, and I can’t comment on other functions because I don’t use it for anything else. However, the comprehensive range of formatting for various social media you’ve included is very useful.
That being said, I have two recommendations for how it could speed up my workflow even more.
Firstly, the option to batch process images should be enabled. Applying white borders to a full shoot’s worth of images in one selection would be amazing. If this is already a feature, I haven’t found how to do it, so if it already is, it should be more intuitive as a function.
Secondly, the app doesn’t recognise edits applied with the iPhone Photos app. Edited photos are processed in their original form, which is a major drawback of the app, and something I’ve had to bypass by sending edited photos to my computer and back again to my phone, as the setting are baked in.
If you could address these two issues then you will have created a flawless app for what I need it for.
Rating 5 stars regardless, because I feel the design and intuitiveness is highly commendable, and a 4 star review doesn’t reflect on the app as a whole.

I use this app to resize my photos and add borders, however I don't like the way they try to make you purchase something. There will be a pop-up of a payment which asked you to pay for it and I think this is very pushy and predatory. Advertisement for the premium version.
Stop advertising the premium on the basic app, it pops up too much and you can't even enjoy the app and it makes me want to delete it. Used to be a great little app, had the option to upgrade for premium features but could be used quite easily for free - especially if you mainly used it for cropping photos for Instagram.
It’s a joke now though, every screen has a prompt for premium that attempts to trick you into buying it, if you aren’t careful you’ll end up paying whether you wanted to or not.
On top of all that it’s not even a one off purchase, the developers seem to think a monthly subscription is necessary for a fairly basic app. A free trial for 3 days is just daft as well, there’s no need for a subscription model at all.

Every button I click automatically sends me to purchase a subscription… which means if there wasn’t any face recognition to confirm purchase.. it would force me to buy the subscription with every press.
Here’s an idea. Be the first company in the world to not have a subscription system and you will actually make more money. Seems counterproductive but is a strategy if done correctly.

Hi developers, please can you reply to the people complaining about this issue. When you upload an image to add a border the app crashes before you can add the border. I’m using the free version as others have said. I don’t want to update to latest version as it sounds like the option of using free is not available and you’re forced to buy a subscription. Useable - at a push
I’ve always used this app to edit my pictures for instagram. It’s easy to use and has a wide variety of different filters and options you can change for your pictures.
Because of the above, I purchased the no-ads package years ago when the option was there. I loved it - probably the first thing I bought from the App Store it I’m honest.
I have noticed that even when I ‘restore’ this no-ad addin I purchased, I STILL get the annoying Instasize premium popup. Every time you select a picture? Popup. I’m only trying to see what picture I’m going to use!! The popup page is also irritating to get rid off, why isn’t there an X straight away? Why does it have to appear (after what feels like an eternity)?
So yeah, if you can deal with the slow popup - go ahead I’m sure it’ll be fine. But it’s my time to find a new app now

Changed iPhone app not working..
I’ve been using the app without issue for many years now to re-size my pics for instagram. I’ve recently changed from iPhone 8max to 11. Once I’ve selected my image and changed to square aspect and select next the app cuts out. I’ve tried re-installing but with no success.

Used to be good but now the app keeps crashing
Instasize used to be great to use and was my go-to app, but in the last few months it’s impossible to use the app as it keeps crashing. You can only stay there for 15-20 seconds and then it shuts down. I thought it was to do with updating your iPhone, so I did that but it didn’t fix the problem. The app however opens the Instasize Premium pop up after every tap in the app, which is really annoying. I wonder if the app crashes on purpose so that you’ll have to purchase the premium version. If the crashing can be fixed for the free version, that’d be great. If not, I’ll probably be deleting Instasize sadly after so many years of using it.

BE CAREFUL WITH THIS APP!!
I've been using this app for a few years now with no issue. But now it constantly tries to trick you into a purchase. Any time you do ANYTHING it brings up the "premium" option. Fine, you gotta make your money. But when you finish editing an image and click to save it IT BRINGS UP THE PURCHASE SCREEN! IF YOU HAVE FINGERPRINT ENABLED AND HAVE IT ON THE HOME BUTTON TO EXIT THE APP, YOU WILL ACCIDENTALLY BUY PREMIUM!! I have almost done this multiple times, only being saved by either taking my finger off fast enough or being lucky to cancel the purchase before it's processed. I shouldn't have had to get in the habit of using a different finger when exiting this app. It shouldn't sneakily try to charge you for something you haven't even selected or agreed to. Super manipulative. Even though the features are really good I moved to a different app which doesn't attempt to trick me into a purchase every 5 seconds.

Terrible app
Used to be great back in the day but now all they want is money. The paywall is absolutely ridiculous and tricks you into buying the app as it comes straight up with fingerprint to pay & ive almost paid for it many times & can’t stand how it tricks you!
Also adding words onto a picture is an absolute nightmare you can’t just add it wherever you want and size it just snaps to certain positions and thats all you get. And you can’t just resize with 2 fingers anymore it’s far too hard.
Filters are crummy too. Will be uninstalling & finding a new app, this used to be great years ago but now all they want is your money

Used to be a great app, but it depletes quality in iPhone 13 photos
I have used this app for years without any issues. The paywall doesn’t even bother me that much because I can get around it and still get my resized photo out of it. I only use this app to resize my photos for Instagram and do it very simply with white borders, nothing beyond that.
I recently updated my phone to an iPhone 13 and I notice that if I resize a photo using this app, it messes with the colour intensity of the original photo and gives me a ‘paler’ less vibrant photo. I suspect this has something to do with the iPhone’s camera settings being incompatible with the app but I want the photo to look the same as the way I took it, not a less vibrant version. So I have to give the app only 2 stars now until a solution is found.

Tries to trick you into a purchase
When you go to save an edit it automatically brings up the fingerprint verification to pay for the premium service. You can tap off to cancel and save as normal for free. But there is no warning and it happens in a split second. There is no mention of a sale or that you have to pay it just goes straight to the payment verification from apple. It happens so suddenly that it wouldn’t surprise me if people accidentally buy it all the time. You can just tap off and not pay though so easy to get around if you’re expecting it.
I wouldn’t mind if the app was pay walled as they’ve got to make a profit somehow but I don’t like the idea of being tricked into paying. It’s a good app and would recommend it with a warning about the payment trick. The features are easy to use and pictures come out well. I just don’t like the under handedness. It wasn’t like this when I first got the app.

There were some features that were free in this app including the formatting a week ago on my old phone. Downloaded this app again on my new phone and I can’t get it to do anything without it asking to sign up for a subscription?

It’s been a steady decline, but each update has made this app worse until now where it’s unusable. It used to be free, but where the annoying pop up asking for money before saving your image was easily dismissed, there’s now no way to continue to save your image until buying their subscription. I’ve gone years without paying for this app, do you think I’m going to start now? None of the features besides adding a white square around my picture are of any interest to me. Shameful.
For the developers; those left who still use this app would find it useful to be able to alter the shape of the frame after choosing one rather than having to reupload.
In fact, if you want to be really useful, just roll the app back to like version 4 or something. It’s been going downhill every update. Every update is a little worse and a little less intuitive.

Rubbish now!
This app used to be absolutely fabulous! I swear it served me for so many years, but I recently downloaded it again and I’m so shocked! It feels like I’m using some weird pirate site, every two minutes it asks me to purchase premium ! I then have to go and close the app and boot it back up to make the smallest of changes.
I wish they would stop pushing for you to spend money, and give the app back that was actually useful! Before I get a reply asking if I’m running all the right stuff…I am!
So yes all in the app is still useful, but unbelievably frustrating and the constant fear of it charging me freaks me out now!

It was good until it wasn’t
I downloaded this app a few weeks ago to spice up my social media profiles and I really like the features but for whatever reason when I try to export or even share directly to Instagram, it freezes at 97% then just stops. I have tried reinstalling even switching off my phone to no avail. It’s been like this for a week now, I’m no sure if I’m the only one but I’m quite disappointed to make all these edits to not post. I hope the export option is not a premium feature because that would really be a let down.
I hope the developers look into this soon.

Very sneaky.
When you try to click off the app using the home button, the ad for buying the ‘premium version of the app’ ever so conveniently pops up just as you do so, meaning Apple pay is activated even if you didn’t want to pay for it. It didn’t give me the chance to cancel the first payment & took the £7.99 out of my account straight away even tho i had no intention of buying this feature whatsoever- very cheeky the way they place it. Would not recommend.

App keeps crashing
I really like using this app, I did use the paid version for a while, and I had to delete in between and when I reinstalled, it’s not letting me use the free version at all, it keeps saying pay for premium and there is no exit button for us to not subscribe, it just keeps insisting that I subscribe which I don’t want to. It’s quiet disappointing as I really like using this app. This bug needs to be fixed.

Cannot access features even though I’ve apparently renewed my subscription
I cannot seem to reset my password to access premium, no email is sent to my email or junk folders to reset. My Apple account says I’ve subscribed until next year yet when I use the app, I cannot log in and premium features are locked.

Absent-mindedly double clicked the home button and ended up paying for the premium membership. That's £4.49 I'll never see again! It's not a lot of money but it's the principle. Stop trying to make people give you money. 99% of us don't care for the premium.
This is a good app and quite useful for making photos fit on Instagram, but other than that I have no other use for it. Should just be kept free with adverts running to let you make money. I shouldn't have to be constantly harassed to pay for the premium. Has completely ruined the app for me.

Very sneaky
I have been tricked into subscribing to this app on more than one occasion and I am not happy about it. Beware using this app if you have fingerprint recognition activated as occasionally, while trying to use the free version of the app, a prompt to subscribe to instasize for £4.99 a month will randomly pop up and if your thumb or finger is resting on the home button it may begin a subscription!
This is incredibly deceitful and infuriating and I would expect more from such a well-funded app such as Instasize. It is unfortunate as I think the app is actually quite good but I do not appreciate being tricked into paying money so I will not be using again!

SCAM
Seriously not impressed with Instasize. Have used the app for years and enjoyed it, but recently I was offered a Free trial of instasize premium which I accepted, but as I didn’t include any bank details I figured there was no way they could automatically begin a subscription after the month was up (as some apps do to catch you out). Little did I know the app clearly had access to the bank details stored within my Apple account as they proceeded to automatically renew the agreement without my knowledge, entering me in to a subscription and therefore have been taking money from me for months without me realising. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS DO NOT ACCEPT THE FREE TRIAL.

Keep asking for premium
Hello! I’m currently subscribed to premium instasize since more than 1 year and since some days they keep blocking me when I wanna use the filters. This si the first time it happened to me, until now I was really happy with the application but is really frustrating now because they don’t offer any kind of explanation for what is happening.

Don’t recommend
While this app may have great editing features, I found when using the free version I was being harassed to pay for a premium subscription, and when I finally did, the app began to routinely crash. In the middle of editing a photo. Undoing all my work. And now, the final straw that has broken this camel’s back is that, despite the fact that I PAY for a premium subscription, I’m now being told by the app that I can’t access paid features like filters unless I pay for a premium subscription - which, as I said, I already do! I cancelled the entire subscription today and am going to look for something else. Do not recommend. Not worth the hassle.

My mistake
I did previously use the free version and then subscribed again and obviously I had to pay for it.
I don’t find the app particularly useful especially for that price and a monthly subscription so I will not renew it.
The app has good features for changing the size of the picture if you want it for an IG story or post etc.. and you can add a background,
although all the filters are quite ugly in my opinion and there are other free apps like inShot that do the same things for free or for a one off payment.
If it was a one off payment for this app, that would be better. I keep seeing influencers saying they use this app so I wonder if they get some money to advertise it!

Premium ads
I have been using this app for more than 5 years but recently they have been changing and this premium ads ... i get it that you would want extra money for the services and earn more profit but i cannot save the pictures without the pop up of premium services and there is no close button before i can proceed saving my photo without purchasing the free trial. I did the free trial but all i do here is make my pictures to fit in insta full , i wasnt using anything else, so i stopped the subscription but now it is asking me for the free trail again without any close this window and proceed without subscribing to any free trial or premium services.... RIDICULOUS!!!

Sly money grabbers
Using the app you are regularly prompted to subscribe and it isn’t very clear how to back out once prompted which is extremely cunning.
While using the app, after closing these prompts, the app crashes once a photo has saved or shortly after you start editing a photo. This is a regular occurrence and I’m sure it’s being done purposely by the app script to drive people towards buying a subscription which is extremely sly!
Other than this and a few little things the app is brilliant and would have a 5 star review from me, it’s just a shame as they could just put ads on there instead of making it buggy.

Beware of Subscription Apps
I was so excited to try this app after seeing an advert on Instagram. But beware this type of app.
If I download something, open the app and there is a screen forcing me to sign up for a free trial before I can even look at what the app has to offer, it’s a no from me.
I perceive this style of sign up a complete and utter scam. You are relying on people to either not understand that they are signing up to a subscription or to forget they have. This way you will at least get a month or two of money out of them before they realise.
How much faith can you have in your app if you won’t even allow people to access your ‘free’ version without signing up to a subscription?
Can I review what the app is like, no. Because they are attempting to get me to sign up to a subscription.
But what I can review is shady business practices, if I could give you 0 stars I would. Beware and AVOID.

Sneaky
Just like many others here have said, be careful using this app because you basically can’t do anything without premium and they are sneaky with getting you to sign up to a premium membership by advertising free trial for 7 days without making it clear that I need to manually cancel. After all these complaints, they would make it more obvious but clearly they are only interested in taking people’s money. I’ve just been billed for a premium subscription and I literally only used the app once, didn’t like it and got rid of it. I’d ask for a refund but I feel like I’d be wasting my own time!

Cannot use the app without premium subscription
I have had this app for a very long time to reduce photo sizes for instagram, I found it great. It fulfilled its purpose. I have changed phones, re-downloaded this app today, and it seems you now cannot use this without purchasing premium any longer?
The app should be called “instasize premium” if that is what you are downloading. What happened to the free basic version you have always offered? I cannot get passed he screen forcing me to subscribe to premium. I have read other recent reviews saying the same.
Either this is no longer a free app at all, and requires a paid subscription (albeit with a free trial), or there is a major glitch. If it’s the former this should be made clear.
If this is tactical to force people to download premium and not a glitch, it hasn’t worked for me. I have now just deleted it and will use another app instead.
If this is a glitch I urge you to look into this and resolve it before you lose the people who enjoy using the free version of the app for a basic photo resize.

Charged me without my permission
I clicked to get the TRIAL and surprise! I got charged for an yearly subscription that Apple doesn’t want to refund. I downloaded the free trial and cancelled it the exact same day! Apparently I got charged because I had used the trial before, which I didn’t even remember. But do you know what a decent company does in that case? They tell you “You have used this trial before and you don’t qualify for a free trial”. Instead I was showed a button that said click for the free trail, I clicked it and got charged 45£. How fraudulent and disappointing!

So many options!
I accidentally purchased the premium membership, but genuinely pleased I have done.
Despite not being an avid editor and instagrammer, I also go to Instasize to finish off my pictures. Now I don’t have only a handful of edits to choose from. My future posts can now be different and totally creative. LOVE.

Worked once
I purchased the app to resize a photo - this worked perfectly and I loved the additional editing features. My plan was to cancel the subscription after a month but the app’s features were so much better than instagram / iPhone photos for editing that I thought I’d keep it.... except it never worked again. Every time I opened the app over the next two weeks it crashed before loading anything and I’d only ever edited three photos. I deleted it and went to download it again and it had cancelled my subscription so I thought better of signing up again... so disappointing... I’d paid £4.99 to edit three photos.

A good app x
This is a very good app for Instagram or Pinterest photos, I have only been using this app for about 10 minutes and for people like me who like editing photos I find this app very enjoyable. The only problem is that you have to purchase
Premium for certain features , other than that the app does WORK , you can still get edit photos and make them look good without premium but for people like me who can’t have premium for any reason it was just abit of a bummer , anyways this app is very useful and if your looking for an app for editing social media photos then this app is perfect 👍👍👍xxx

serious problem
There is a worrying trend for these types of apps to be subscription based. Do the developers really think that this app is going to be used continually and be worth a subscription? How many apps are like this? Too many! Simple utilities are now subscription based which means with a handful of these types of app subscriptions you are paying out a fortune! The end result is that people stop subscribing or worse still for the developer, they avoid it like the plague - not another subscription!
Guess what. I opened it - saw 3 day trail and a subscribe button. I just deleted it. Too bad. If it was a fixed fee I’d probably buy it.
In nearly all cases I can just find an alternative app and buy it outright.

Great
I only just started using InstaSize but I’m really happy with it. All the options you get to modify your photo are very easy to handle and I use all of them. I just wish some of the premium borders would not be premium because the marble looked amazing on one of my pics but I’m not premium so I couldn’t select it. Apart from that, I’m really happy with this app and is better than some others I’ve used.

Getting Worse
This app has done me good the last few years, and has proved to be a great help, but this has gotten ridiculous. Something that should have taken me 5 minutes took me at least half an hour.
The picture kept being deleted without me touching it, whenever I tried to adjust text it wouldn’t let me and made me move something else, and some of the adjustments I made wouldn’t save, so that it reverted back to the state I did not wish it to be.
This is not the standard of app it was when I first downloaded it, and I was close to throwing my phone or screaming out of frustration (which would not be a smart idea since I’m awake at 2 a.m — no thanks to this app), and I am thoroughly disappointed.

Sneaky and Greedy
I purchased a filter pack in the early days and have seen a gradual decline in the filters purchased (around 40% missing) to make way for more premium filters. I wrote to them and was told ‘sorry for the hassle’, ‘read the terms and conditions’ and ‘have some free time’ (after which I would have to pay the monthly fee - in my opinion at £4.99, too expensive for this app).
Whilst legally they are covered I feel morally they are wrong. I would like to keep what I have paid for and not have it gradually taken from me.
A few more filters have disappeared in the last week. If they do it gradually then they think people won’t notice. Sneaky and greedy.

Not a free app anymore
I had instasize since I created my instagram account.. more than 5 years ago.
I always used the app on a daily basis. I changed my iPhone and now I was downloading once more the app to have in the new phone and I have to pay to get the InstaSize Premium which I don’t want and it doesn’t even give me an option to have the standard instasize.
It started as a really good app and throughout the years it deleted more and more filters which you had to ou if you wanted them. Now apparently you have to pay for the whole app.

My go to app
As a professional creative post artist working in still I have used many editing apps. It’s difficult to get the right mix of great filters and manual control when editing and doing colour. But this app does an amazing job of giving the user the control over their editing whilst helping you find and edit a look.

This app is terrible now
I don’t appreciate all the new changes to this app , I loved it before I could put a white background on my images for instagram with no worry and no hesitation . But now this “free trail” comes up when I want to press done ? I’m very confused because I do not want to purchase anything especially anything on this app! I just want a white background on my pictures. If I could give this no stars I would absolutely horrendous. I’m appalled , now I have to screenshot my picture instead of it saving to my phone I’m very upset.

very bad
I downloaded it in 2016 and it was a great app that had nice filters that I used a lot but then they deleted it. It started getting great reviews again so I re-downloaded it recently and it won’t even let me go on the app it just brings up the premium upgrade and won’t let me use the app. I had deleted and downloaded it many times to see if it would go away and it hasn’t. I don’t want to get premium and pay £4.99 monthly just to be able to use the app. I don’t know if this happens to others but I find it extremely annoying.

Umm ok
You can’t really do anything because after the trial you have to pay but you don’t know when you are paying. After the trial you will have to pay but what do you do if you don’t want to pay? See get what I mean , I don’t get this ! Someone pls do something maybe it should stop the trial and you can say if you want to pay or not and I can’t make one thing on this app because of the free trial. I am very shocked about this . Maybe they could change a few things then my 2 stars will go to maybe even 5 stars so make sure you know what to do before you get this app because it is really hard to understand !

Getting close to deleting
I got this app way back in 2015 and it was the best quick edit app there was for a very long time. Then they did an update and got rid of all my favourite things about the app, so I deleted it. A while passed and it started getting good reviews again, so I re-downloaded it and it seemed good enough for a quick decent edit that wasn’t tacky.
But they keep deleting the main filters that I use as if they don’t want me around.
I’ve deleted you before, I’m not afraid to do it again.

Untrustworthy company
Instasize just have removed ‘old’ in-app purchased filters without any notice to users. I bought the full-range of their filters 1.5 years ago for €9, which somehow evaporated in the last update.
Customer service wants to offer a free one-month subscription for filters that not even similar to those which have been bought. Nice try, but absolutely ridiculous and it would be a double rip-off after one month elapsed! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Better get an alternative app, which is actually RELIABLE on in-app purchases.

Annoying
Ok, so I went looking for a picture editor for the first time. I came across this app and thought it was worth a go.
Th editing tools look ok.
When trying to edit my first picture, it just kept popping up with go premium, free trial...and removing my picture. Really frustrating! Looks like you can’t even use limited features to see if you like it. No, instead they want you to sign up for a free trial which of course auto charges you monthly subscription after it! Deleted.

On the verge of deleting
This app is really good and I used to love it. It makes my Instagram page look really good but I’m on the verge of deleting it now. I can’t save my work on it because it flashes up with with stupid “buy premium” thing. I’m not going to pay £1.99 to get a few extra filters so I wish it would just go away. Great app apart from the fact I can’t press “done” without it trying to make me upgrade.
