I’ve found Excel very useful to create and update spreadsheets directly in my mobile phone. I can then later continue using these on my PC/tablet without a hiccup and I know they are always up to date on any device.

Biggest problem for me on the iPad is that it is almost impossible to scroll along spreadsheet tabs as it tends to move the whole page not just the tabs and the iPad simply displays the previous app that was used.

I want to be able to select non adjacent columns for chart and graph creation. “Command Click” does not work as it does on a desktop Excel.

Used Excel for most of my computerised life (started with a BBC B). Am now 70 and have found nothing to beat it yet! Microsoft cornered the market with it’s Office package, don’t think it can be beaten. That’s from a staunch Apple Mac, iPhone and iPad user.

Open document I was working on over a couple of days, developed a problem and was blocked from opening. The file was automatically saving, so there was no option to open an earlier version. No recovery file was offered
Over 10.1 restriction

The over 10.1” restriction on an iPad is ridicules. iPad are a bit bigger now. I could just about understand it on the big iPad not 10.5” get real Microsoft are you that bad off for revenue to put this restriction on.
One other thing if we make changes on our phone as we have to now because of the stupid restriction and we don’t like this changes we don’t appear to be able to close the file without saving.

Seriously, Microsoft, your developers should be sacked!
Almost every time I update your app, something major is broken. Something that could’ve easily been tested by your developers!
I use the app on my phone for very important business and when you break it I have so much trouble I’m going to have to find an alternative.
This time, yet again, it’s the Dropbox connection that is broken. Not for the first time. Some might think that you do this on purpose to try to force people to use you’re horrible excuse for cloud storage!

I keep my files in Dropbox and use excel & word on my iPad mini. It’s always been brilliant so far and worked fine yesterday. Doesn’t work today - I get an error message telling me there’s no network connectivity. Yet everything else works on my iPad, with 4G or with WiFi. Just excel & word NOT working when I try to connect to Dropbox. I have auto updates for apps switched on & presumably this updated since yesterday when it was last working. NOT HAPPY, PLEASE FIX IT.

I would recommend this if you are getting it on your computer, but if you are getting it on a phone, tablet or iPad then don’t get it because to do things on it you need to sign in.

Renders things totally differently to the way they appear on Mac/PC. Doesn’t have very good keyboard support on iPad. A distance better than Apple Numbers (which I cannot believe anyone at Apple uses), but still not a pleasant user experience.
It also inexplicably requires a monthly subscription. I understand the economic imperative for this: Microsoft want a stable, predictable revenue stream. As a customer, it’s unfair: you haven’t shipped any updates which I need since Excel ‘97. Literally if Excel ‘97 worked on my iPad, I would be using it very happily.
So why can’t I just buy Excel and keep using it until the hardware no longer supports it?

Its the worst for iphone and ipads as well as chromebooks. They does not let me edit values on the graphs such as error bars. Microsoft word for these devices does not work properly like it does for windows. I request for a better update. Its a waste of money as it does not work for my Chromebook. I emailed and gave feedback about this but got no answer.
