We spent most of January polishing things and fixing bugs:
- Fix rotating and using fit-to-frame on Live Photos.
- Eliminated slow-downs and crashes after adding a few snippets in a row.
- Show the snippet editor after using tap-and-hold to record in the camera.
- Make sure the Reorder button works properly after going to a different day through Rewind.
- Disable the music volume slider when there's no music selected.
- We also fixed a few other crashes.

Simply too expensive - free version heavily branded

This used to be a fun app that you could use for video journalling, with output only having subtle branding, and the premium features, such as allowing longer clips, a reasonable price. Now it’s very very expensive and the free version output is full of ugly and very prominent branding. I’m prepared to pay a fair price to support developers of apps that are fun but not the ~£50 per year this app asks. If the developers want me to give them money then they need to look at their pricing models again. In the meantime, I will go elsewhere.

The latest update has meant that those using the free version can no longer export without the branding in the top corner. If I had known this I wouldn’t have updated as this wasn’t clear on the description. I also can’t download my individual clips without the branding which is very unfortunate as I thought this would back a year and I could delete the original video. I now don’t even access to my own videos without the branding on top.

Great app- use the mash up feature

I took photos of my daughter every day since she was born, with the plan to do it until her first birthday. When she turned one, I was able to mash all of the photos into one reel by using the mash up function. I didn’t realise this was a thing at first so left a negative review stating that, but now I have been directed to the mash up feature I am changing that review!

Used to have this app ages ago and it was great. Now with my new iPhone I’ve downloaded and excited to use again. However, everything is hidden behind the pro version. This used to cost £5 forever and now costs £48 per year. Insane pricing. £48 just to remove unnecessary branding. Can’t trust this company with my memories with yearly subscription rip off models. Will have to start editing videos myself to put together a second everyday. This will be free and I won’t be able to be extorted in future.

Great idea, wonderful features, but if you want to get the most of it you have to go pro, the only plan is £50 for the entire year, I understand developers have to make some money out of it. I wouldn’t had minded a monthly plan, still my personal opinion is that price is too extortionate for what it is.

I love this app so much, it really is a lovely way to remember each day. However my only problem is I cannot save it to my camera roll. I have just got to 1 year and I would really love to be able to export it to my camera roll for later life but I am unable to do so. I absolutely love this app. It’s the only form of journal I keep and it’s just right... easy to use and such a nice way to look back over the year. First class customer service too, I reported a bug, they looked into it and kept me updated, including sending me an email when there was a fix in an update. Considering I only use the free version and haven’t upgraded to pro, I was really impressed by this. Thanks so much for this brilliant little app, I can’t wait to mash my year tomorrow!

I do like this app and the fact you can create a compilation of videos to watch back. However they charged me £28 for a subscription when I first downloaded without me realising. It was about to upgrade my account to £40 a month and I only found out when I got an email about my subscription renewal. I recently unsubscribed and then tapped something and it subscribed me again without proper permission.
Because it’s been so long since I’ve ‘subscribed’ it’s unlikely I can get my money back.
If you do download it just be vigilant as to what you click on because it seems to be quite sneaky with this kind of thing.

For some reason the developers thought it was a good idea to make the snippet feature only available to paying users. For those that don’t already have the app, the snippet feature allowed you to take 1 second from any video in your camera roll and make it your second of the day - it was the only realistic way anyone added a second for each day (rather than taking a 1 second video through the app). It is absolutely disgraceful that they’ve changed the basic functionality of the app, and it’s particularly upsetting since I was about 10 snippets away from having a full year in video. Shame on these money-grabbing app developers, I will never be recommending or using this app again!

Given this three stars because of how good it was up until recently. Since a recent update it is so buggy; every time I try to add a snippet the app crashes/freezes out my phone. I tried exporting my journal (which took ages because app kept crashing), but even after having done that it still wasn’t working, I also uninstalled and reinstalled the app but that didn’t work either. If they fix this it’d be 5 stars but for the moment it’s too frustrating to use.

I loved the simplicity of this app. But the updates in the latter end of 2020 have made it bloated and complicated. You used to have a Home Screen where you could select a month of snips to stitch together to form a video which could be saved onto your phone’s camera roll. Simple. this app was my favourite app ever until october.
I went on it as usual to add my daily snippet when I went on to add it as usual I clicked the video from my camera roll and then it crashed . every day on my timeline I repeat just to make sure but it ALWAYS crashes at that spot and it’s sooo annoying because I really wanted to fully complete this but now because of a crash I can’t. I really need someone to fix this because it crashes FOR HOURS and I can not use my phone or turn it off.
I recommend it if it works but they really let me down this time.

I’m appalled at the fact that the features are becoming less and less due to the fact that Amy are now becoming ‘pro’ features! Now even to have 2 snippets a day you have to pay £7.99 monthly!
It’s unprofessional to change such things at the drop of a hat, and doing everything to entice £7.99 a month from teenagers.
It wouldn’t surprise me if soon enough you had to pay pro to use the app altogether

When I first got this app I absolutely loved the idea of it. I like how it makes it so simple to keep a track of how your year is going and can be kept as a little personal diary too. This app is so sentimental and I absolutely adore the videos I have constructed these past couple of years. As I wanted to add even more sentiment to my memories I decided to purchase the monthly pro plan which was around £3.99 a month, which I can definitely get around. But since then, the app has changed and suddenly it costs £7.99 a month to keep the pro plan!!!! This is such a rip off and I think is so selfish. Do you really think it’s fair to charge your community a shy of £10 a month just to add one extra second to their daily videos? Or by adding music or edit brightness which we can all do on our computers for free anyways??? I always felt like the developers of this app really cared about their community and all of our memories and sentiment, but you’ve shown your true colours and made it very apparent that all you care about is money. Think I will be ditching and moving to a different app which offers the exact same service but doesn’t rob you blind in the process.

This app was brilliant before the recent update. I was really enjoying going into my folder and selecting a photo from that day. Unfortunately now, it asks you to select photos you want to use with no indication of when the photos were taken. So if I forget to do it for a few days then when I go into the photos I forget which photos were taken on which days. I’m very disappointed as I was really enjoying the app before.

I love this app and have used it for many years. I couldn’t imagine life without my one second everyday! But every time the app gets updated, it gets harder and harder to use. I need the app to be quick and simple. I need sleek and easy functionality so that I can quickly capture my video clips while I’m on the go. But now, it feels like the app requires me to click through several different pages before I can even record a clip, and then several more pages before I can save it and exit. It’s as though the people creating the app don’t even use it themselves. I’ve never left a review of an app before because I’ve never really cared that much to, but I hate to see an app I love become so frustrating to use. Please stop.

Since the latest update I can’t add photos from shared albums 🤦‍♀️ I’ve been making one second a day videos for the last couple of years and love them but I have one of my daughter that we started when she was born, my partner and I share an album of her live photos/videos and since the update I can’t include anything from the shared album. It’s visible but if I click it the app freezes! I even tried saving one to my phone from the album but it just doesn’t acknowledge it. It’s driving me insane!!! Also, when you only have a still photo from one day so have to use that, why not let me make it the same size as all the video content so it doesn’t look 100% out of place in the video playback? Another also, it’s now about a million clicks to add a snippet... seriously, this most recent UI update just stinks guys. Did you user test it at all?

I have been a 1SE fan and evangelist since forever. I bought it when it first came out as a paid app, carried on using it when it became free (when previously paid-up customers got a few additional features) and have recommended it to countless people. About eight months ago, because I thought the app was so good, I paid the extra to have a subscription because I do believe in supporting apps I like. However version 4, which came out one week ago, has made me completely change my mind about this app. I find the interface confusing and definitely not intuitive. Mashing is slow; it feels like it is so over bloated now.
I have also noticed that the subscription prices have shot up to. Almost £50 a year for this app is definitely not justifiable.
I have just cancelled my subscription.

It’s basically just added a ton more things to click so that the process of adding clips is much more convoluted, whereas before it took half the time. I love everything about this App, so simple to use and such great fun.
Its coming up to two years since I have been using it and I find so amazing to look back on a video diary of day to day life - a daily one second window on your world, the good days and the bad all count!
Of course it’s great to share each month but to keep as a diary is fantastic, it’s incredible how in just one second you can sum up your day.
Really recommend trying it out, be prepared to get hooked!

Great on your iPhone but it’s not been optimised for iPad. This lets it down. I’d love to use my iPad as my main app but the forced magnification makes it tedious to use and look awful. Please consider an iPad app!
