Was invited to a meeting, and the attempt to connect hung.

Eventually discovered that IPv6 networks are not supported.

Got the meeting rescheduled using a different service.

Very poor performance, this app needs to be rebuilt from the ground up!

Has sync issues, network issues and its way behind as an IM app!

If you switch off your screen Skype for business assumes you want to end the call... why?

I have to say that this was the first time hat I have used Skype for Business ( a long time user of Skype personal) the picture and sound quality was excellent and there were absolutely no holdups or glitches at all, I am aware that other users have experienced some issues on that topic but none for me. A very important business meeting was conducted faultlessly.

Excellent connectivity, which allowed us to link up with colleagues in Africa and UK.

Great way to do business without burning the air miles. No carbon footprint!!

It is no better than services that are available for free.

Since this is being replaced by the truly awful Microsoft Teams why continue to provide updates that are not security related?

I find Skype for business ok if you just use it for voice and perhaps video. It is very difficult to get all the info needed on one screen e.g. list of names of who is on the call. Video lags a bit and can be pixellated sometimes but this could be my broadband. I find the menu of in call options very poor and my team and I have given up using the function where everyone can view documents as not everyone could see them, it wouldn't work every time and crashed.

Jump on a call with any device and talk to a number of people is just effortless ..

Enjoy Skype for Business on my day to day calls from the laptop or desktop and now also from my iPhone

When it works, it’s great, but most of the time there are issues... Randomly won’t let you type a response to a message. Messages get wiped, sometimes even from just 30 mins ago. Messages sometimes can’t be read more than the first few characters in the contact preview. Messages randomly decide whether to appear on the desktop or app version. Random disconnects in audio conferences. Poor audio quality sometimes.

Unable to login if Authenticator app is installed to manage personal acoount.

The fact that calls drop randomly with the “call failed” error message, followed by an inability to reconnect means that this is an unreliable business tool.

It’s impossible to have this app run in a split view with another app. This results in the absurd situation of having to use this app in fullscreen on an iPad Pro 12.9.

This is particularly bad in light of the fact that if I switch to another app then I often miss the messages sent to me in the meantime, which forces me to keep the app running (in fullscreen) in order to ensure I receive everything.

Also, my messages never seem to get synchronised reliably with the desktop app.

2019 and still no multitasking support. It’s a shame

A few issues with stability with low bandwidth, in my experience WebEx is flawless regardless of the environment.

App name under the icon should be Skype, not Business. Of course there is another Skype app, but I don’t use it and the app is not Business, it is Skype!

Have used Lynx/Skype on the desktop for a few years, it’s a bit flaky but generally pretty good.

Installed this Skype app on the iPhone and it’s exactly like being on the desktop but quicker. I can park up at services and join a meeting in a matter of seconds.

I can’t knock it.

Following the recent update, I have the repeating error of ‘the app has encountered an error, please restart the app’

This is persistent and exists even after an uninstall as well as a complete phone reset.

Please fix ASAP...

-Constantly asking me to re-enter exchange credentials

-Buggy, crashy

-Audio regularly drops out and disconnects me from the call

-When being re-connected to the call, it puts you in mute again so you have to unmute yourself before you can talk again.

-Opening a message notification sometimes takes you to a chat window that doesn’t show the message, and because the messages aren’t persistent you have lost the message for ever.

-Doesn’t sync that I’ve read notifications between my devices, so I have to deal with multiple spammy notifications for missed calls, messages, etc.

-Unreliably shows the stage when someone is presenting their screen

Just ends up being so frustrating and annoying to use on a day to day basis. Never mind the quality of life things, like supporting split screen modes on iPad.

When this rings it’s very quiet. I can’t find anywhere how to increase ringtone volume.

Good service and product but I do wish you’d stop asking me how the call went after most calls... just a little annoying.

I get a fair amount of cold calling to my phone and tend to ignore unknown numbers, it would be useful to know that the call was coming through Skype for business rather than being a random cold call.

Try to use it on lap, no sound. So use my phone, echo on the line. So use my iPad, ok so it works but seemed to be a delay.

Not great and better tools out there.

We use Skype 365 as our primary inter office and external comms platform.

As Citrix is our cloud based solution, Skype 365 is not fit for purpose, 90% of the time.

Outside, it works mostly fine, provided you have a great WiFi connection.

Can anyone explain why this is so and if there’s a better solution?

Chats are all over the place; impossible to share files of any kind unless through links; generally a terrible interface — doesn’t feel like an iOS app at all.

Audio / Video conferencing is a crucial tool in my day to day work. Skype for Business Online (not public Skype) is a rebrand of an old and unstable product called Lync. My experience is that it does not handle Internet connection well and even in a corporate network, if there is bandwidth contention it drops calls regularly rather than falling back gracefully. Note that if a call does not drop out the app will ask you to rate the call. However if you get regular drop outs it does not ask you to rate the call so our support teams do not know the extent of this instability. It takes a lot of bandwidth when more than a few attendees switch on video so I often see people just use audio in their meetings. Public Skype is a much better product based on new codecs and is an order of magnitude more stable. Other audio / video products such as Zoom are an order of magnitude more stable (I would go so far as to say flawless) and use less network bandwidth even when there are large numbers of concurrent video connections. I simply do not understand that when faced with that competition that Microsoft won’t take the ‘better’ codecs they have in public Skype and Teams and simply build these into Skype for Business instead of declaring end of life for Skype Online and causing unnecessary disruption and cost for millions of their customers. This is a yesteryear product.

Connection is woeful, chats get lost all the time, alerts come through but Chat doesn’t appear in the actual app so you can only read the first few words.... I could go on but have better things to do with my time. Awful.

Since an update Mar2019 the app opens but constantly has error warning the app has an error and must restart

I use it daily for IM and meetings. Voice and video comms work well as well as screen sharing. Recommended.

Most of the time the call quality is good, however, the messaging is terrible. Used to better in the Messenger and Lync days. I constantly 'miss' conversations meaning more email traffic.

I used it for a conference meeting, found it outclass in all aspects except mute which turns on automatically. Voice quality and reception is quite better.

As a business we use it (though I’m not sure of the decision behind that), saying that, skype for business looks and feels as though it has been designed by someone that has never used a messenger app. I remember MSN (remember those days) and i can honestly say that the app is not even close to a product that went out of service 10 years ago. It’s unbelievable the number of bugs, the UI oddities and general non-ease of use “features”.

A simple one comes to mind - skype for business is not yet designed for the IPad Pro - there is a thick black line that appears around the app when you use it. Whoever is in charge of SFB needs to be fired.

Randomly pops you back to the login screen. Disconnects you, auto mutes you or kicks you out to a “lobby” were you wait ideffinetely

I live in area with poor mobile signal but I have very fast broadband. I use WiFi calling sometimes but mostly I use Skype and it works perfectly.

I get error messages all the time! Why is this app so bad?

I’m using both Skype and Skype for Business apps, but I can see only Skype icon. To launch Skype for Business I need to open it from AppStore - this is confusing!

I downloaded the app and uninstalled it about an hour later. Following this, I started to receive calls from random people saying that I have called them. And this has been happening around 10 times a day. I am going to have to change my phone number. Avoid this app at all costs if you can
