Great Assistant!

It’s a great addition to the bag. But. The only thing I’d like to see added is a ‘driving range’ function. Allowing the app/watch to track shot data when at the range practicing as this may even prove to be more useful than shot data when playing a round!

I bought an Apple Watch for this

This app is invaluable to me as a high handicap player and I have used it for just over a year.

With distances, club suggestions, and now features such as strokes gained and Swing ID, I couldn’t recommend this app enough!

I specifically bought an Apple Watch to use alongside this app for auto shot tracking, quick view distances, and now Swing ID.

Being able to review a round, my good and bad swings, and GIR, fairway %, etc is amazing to anyone who likes statistics or is trying to improve

Have taken money for services they didn’t deliver

Booked a tee time at a local club with them which was then cancelled by the club due to weather. Was told by Golfshot it’s not actually booked by them but golfnow and just point me in their direction.

Golfnow is being incredibly difficult about a refund stating they can’t contact the course even though I’ve been in contact several times.

This app is useless. It reads between 50yds - 100yds short on your next shot. I have been trying the fre version. I definitely would not consider paying for it. Don’t waste your time , it’s not accurate!!!

Great for reviewing rounds and tracking shots/distance. Got my handicap down by 10 shots after using this app every round.

Simply brilliant, except for set flag.

Can there be an option to turn this off please! I swipe past it, enter my score, go to the next tee and it’s back at set flag rather than telling me about the next hole. The set flag thing seems completely unnecessary.

I didn’t need it before and I certainly don’t want it now. It adds nothing but frustration!

Great app, minor flaw

I have tried a few GPS apps and I do like this one.

Two things I find massively frustrating though.

On the main screen it is neither logical nor easy to change the hole. Sometimes you swipe right, sometimes it works sometimes not. Why can you not make changing the hole view really, really easy and obvious.

Secondly - when i have finished my round there appears to be no way to see my whole scorecard on one screen. Lots of dead space and I can see front nine/back nine- but how can you not just fit 18 holes into one view? Crazy obvious just not delivered.

Please fix these obvious flaws. I cannot fathom why you would not allow me to see a single scorecard screen.

Feels dated and lacking in some features

I recently purchased the pro version of Golfshot after having the used the app for scoring the last few years.

The app is useful and matched my expectations. However, there are some small things that could be done to drastically improve the experience:

- Videos are useful but it would be great to have a “recommended” section based off of my strokes gained scores so that the content is relevant to my game and where I can improve.

- The tee times feature is all but useless in my area (Bristol, UK). Most courses in my area (and the UK generally) don’t seem to publish tee times to this service. It would be great to see Golfshot improve this prices for UK golf courses so that more times and deals are on there.

- Pro features like SwingID can only be used during a round - having a “practice mode” where swing ID could be used in the range would be great.

Absolutely Atrocious

Having now played a few rounds with this app I feel I can now give a good assessment. It is unbelievably inaccurate. I paid for the “pro” version and compared yardages with a friend who was using the free version. We were getting discrepancies of 20 yards plus between our 2 devices even though we were side by side. Golfshot app support is woefully lacking and came back with numerous excuses as to how the device gps was to blame. In a sport where yardages are important I don’t see how anyone could contemplate relying on this app. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Top customer service

Just after I subscribed to the pro plan I saw that one of the courses I play often wasn’t in the apps list of courses. I got in touch with support and once I had provided scorecard images and a link to the course on google maps the course was available. This only took about 10 minutes. I haven’t used the app to its full extent yet but I love that I can track shots on my Apple Watch and review my performance when I get home. All in all a great app and first class customer service.

Best app out there

This golf app is the best one out there. It gives you the best information you need to take your shot, and if you go pro it really does feel as if you have your own caddy with you. Best thing I did was to download this app and go pro, well worth the money and will definitely renew when it is due for renewal

Great app

Been using for over six months and couldn’t fault the free version. Upgraded my Apple Watch and half way round the latest round i found the app on the watch very glitchy and couldn’t input my scores and had to force close the app on watch to get it going again.

Too complicated for me.

How can I keep things simple and just input my scores and putts into the Apple Watch. Just doesn’t want to allow me to input a number. At the moment just using the app for distances no good to keep score. With 4 holes to go in my round it just suddenly finishes and gives me a final score, strange ??. Still buggy for me at the moment will have to get the pencil out for a back up

One of the best golf apps there, but…

I have been using Golf Shot Pro for several years and I think it is one of the best golf apps there. I like the features, simplicity of UI and Apple Watch integration. The database of the courses is fairly comprehensive and customer support was always very responsive when course details needed to be updated. However, I stopped using the app to track net scores, as the playing handicap calculated by the app is often incorrect and there is no easy way to adjust it before the round.

I contacted the developers and was told that there is no plan to allow users to select their playing handicap manually. The app automatically calculates the course handicap based on the course slope and par, but does not provide adjustments to playing handicap, nor does it have an easy option to adjust calculated handicap, if the course slope is incorrect in GolfShot database.

Still buggy.

Used this a year or so ago and went away because Apple Watch integration was buggy. Thought I’d try it again but. I’m disappointed to see it’s not changed and today although it showed my correct score on the watch at the end of the round, when I go to my phone it’s scored me the same as my partner who I was also scoring. Luckily for me he was also scoring me so I could enter my score manually but I’m not happy that this app still has this kind of thing going on. Also try and find a way to link a WHS handicap when you’re in the UK. Support articles have you going round in circles and in the end you will come to the conclusion that this is not possible.

I’ve been using this app for a year or so as a gps only. Now I’ve upgraded to pro after reading about swing ID. I have to say this is a game changer. Not only for the course management but the analysis is next level!!

What I desperately can’t wait for is when I can use this app as a stand alone swing analyser in my back garden. Please please please say this is coming soon …..

Brilliant app for golfers that links really well with an Apple Watch. Only downside for me with the new Swing ID feature is there not being a practice mode to practice your swing off the course. With that it would be 5 stars.

Fantastic App

With the pro subscription i have found this app a wonderful companion to help me improve my golf.

I love the Apple Watch integration , perhaps some workflow improvements would be useful like when i record my score on a hole to be prompted (with a skip option) to record actual clubs used for each shot as against suggested clubs.

If i could wish for some improvements i would like to have european handicap systems integration.

Nevertheless this is a very reliable dependable app and a great asset .

Simply THE best golf app

Had this app pretty much since it launched and it has been instrumental in getting my handicap down from where it started (28) to now being 14 (an over generous handicap committee at my club!).

Let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way, it can be a big drain on the battery of your iWatch but a few simple steps, such as turning off the watch gps in the app settings, nails that once and for all.

The features are brilliant and really useful throughout your round. The post round (still relatively new) swing analysis will give you a new thing to bore your mates with whilst having a drink in the 19th hole… but keep in mind, they are just jealous!

Tracked shots is my fave feature!

Don’t be scared by the aggressive caddie mode. I too thought it could mean it would swear at you, or out you for kicking your ball out from under a tree… it doesn’t. It just gives better guidance on club selection.

On the few occasions I have needed to contact tech support about a course not being found or a course layout changing, they have been great.

If I had to be super picky, it would be great if, when you favourites a course, it downloaded all the holes. Sometimes, in a poor signal area, the hole images don’t download to the watch which can be a bit frustrating… this also affects the tracked shots videos that I like.

This is a minor thing though. If I could give GolfShot 10 stars, I would.

I pay for the pro addition and joined in 2019. I pay £23.99 but I believe it’s since gone up. Excellent data, link in to Apple fitness and the yardages are spot on.

I’d like to see the app be developed to include UK handicaps being linked. At present it’s only America.

I really enjoy using this app for tracking my game and handicap. I’m still a novice but find the app easy to use. The support team also react very quickly, I contacted them recently about a change to the 9 hole course at my local club and they revised the course very quickly so was able to play with the correct data the next time I went. Very good!

Fantastic app so easy to use and score card reflects past rounds so you can monitor previous rounds. Great statistics with drive and putting information easily available. My home course recently changed its layout and Golfshot quickly updated to new layout. GPS view and yardage easily able to flick between to get maximum information to help with your round. Keeps crashing

Yet again this app keeps crashing as soon as it’s launched. Occasionally it gets to the first hole then crashes which is more frustrating. This has happened before and after deleting and reinstalling it worked. This time after several attempts it still crashes. I have a new iPhone that’s fully up to date so it’s not the phone

You can load up the first hole of the course you are playing but then can’t add score or move to the second hole.

Brilliant golfing companion

I love the app. It helps me plan my way around the course, understanding the distance to hazards and to the green. The apple watch functionality is seem less and the automatic shot tracking is the cherry on top.

It is probably a bit harsh of me to dock a star but I would love them to improve the statistics section. It would be 5 stars all the way if I could use the information to understand my strengths and weaknesses. I would then know which areas of my game to focus on!

Excellent distance measurement, major battery drain

Used the App for the first time yesterdays, distance measurement spot on compared with playing partners devices however, despite my Apple Watch being 100% charged, it drained the battery by the 17th.

I don’t like using my phone on the course and the battery drain may mean I have to revert back to my Garmin, but would prefer not to.

Great features, very responsive staff

I have been using this app for a number of years now, the last couple of which have been via the premium subscription. I find the functionality very good, and especially like the Apple Watch usability, allowing me to choose my club, measure course distances and score each hole without consulting my phone or using a pen and paper. The shot tracking feature and related course flyover is a really nice touch.

While there have been some small issues with underlying data, the support team are always very responsive and happy to fix issues as well as answer questions. I’d like to see the addition of a link to the England Golf handicap system, as with the GHIN in the US, but the workarounds are sensible (if a little convoluted!)

All in all, great app, would recommend to other golfers of all levels.

Good but could be better

Great app for the Apple Watch, easy to use a good interface, this would get 5 stars if I was able to link my handicap index to the app as the UK CDH Id isn’t supported?

I pay the subscription because I like the feedback from the emails etc. but for the price you would think other countries other than the US would be supported.

Broken app

App used to work great but since a recent update my local course no longer works. Upon starting the round the app closes and locks out until deleted and reinstalled. Reached out weeks ago for support. Not change. Spent money for premium that I cannot use. Switching to uswing. That works perfectly. Shame

Great App keeping some features simplistic which is nice seen on the free version, test to test premium but looking too in the near future. The Tee Times button seems like a really cool idea to have bookings integrated into the app but unfortunately doesn’t appear to function inside the UK? Could this looked at? Or could this be at least optional to display if not able to use in specific locations? Just bugs me that it’s on the menu and I’m unable to use.

Great in theory but scorecard needs improvement

This is a great app that shows you a map of the hole, distance to the green from where you are and has a scorecard that shows lots of data such as putts, GIR, bunkers, penalties and where your tee shot landed. However the only bug is if you use the scorecard on the move mid hole and then go back to it, it’ll accidentally swipe and change your score.

Used to be brilliant, not any more

Up until about 18 months ago I used this app every round of golf I played. 2-4 times a week, was so easy to use when playing a round with my friends keeping stableford scores. Absolutely loved it and would have easily given 5 out of 5 stars. However … after the introduction of My England Golf and the slope indexes on courses, this app does not now present the correct handicap. For instance, I play off 15 and so there are 3 holes I don’t get a shot on. When I go to the score card it shows that there I have no shot on 4 holes instead. And this is an issue for each golfer I enter onto the app for that round. I raised an issue directly with Golf Shot and was told that they were aware of the issue but it would be some time before it could be resolved. (I have of course deleted the app and re-loaded it many times). 18 months later and it has still not been resolved … shame, as it was so easy to use.

Bank card problem

Since I downloaded this app, gave my card details etc I have had problems with my card being frozen. The Apple payments are taken then returned and I cannot use it for any other transaction. Spoke to my bank to unblock the card but it has started again. What is going on?

A reply from the App Developer has assured me that my problem is not connected to them, I thank them for the response, and is Apple’s fault!

It has been resolved and I am looking forward to using the app as I wanted to.

I have only used it once on my home course and found it excellent and am going to a course in a few days that I have only played once before three years ago, so am looking forward to trying it out on a newish course.

However 3 or 4 years ago, The Nairn Golf Club carried out some major work on the course in moving (substantially) two greens to a different location, moving 5 or 6 sets of tees and a change to almost 50% of the bunkers. This was in order to hold the Amateur Championship in 2021. This course has also hosted the Walker Cup and the Curtis cup in the past. It is a lovely PGA Championship course in the Highlands of Scotland that is played by many guests from the USA and Far East annually.

I contacted Golf Shot 3 years ago to inform them of these changes, providing the updated scorecard. Because of lockdown I have been unable to visit for over 2 years, but now that I have, I see that they have NOT updated their app to reflect these changes.

Recently, I have made the effort to take the distances from the fairway markers to centre and front of green and asked Golf Shot to send me an email, in order to provide them the correct details in spreadsheet form to update their App. Still no response!! Very VERY disappointed as people using the app could be as much as 50 yards off target for some of the greens.

First Rate Customer Support

I thought I found a problem with the software. I got in touch with customer care. Got an answer within 24 hours and discovered that the software was more advanced than I gave it credit for. It was pointed out to me that the course slope adjustment is automatic within the app. Tried it, and customer support, where not only correct, but very helpful. Excellent and a great app that has helped me improve my game no end.

Score to par incorrect if playing less than 18

Since the average to par update your final Score to par (under or over) is incorrect as it is calculated against 18 holes. If you only play 9 holes or 12 or whatever the score is grossly wrong. I shot 39 for 9 holes. 4 over for 35 stroke 9 hole par. I entered score for the back 9 as “did not play”. App calculated my score to par as -24. It has my “average to par” handicap as 54? Why? Who knows. Totally screwy and I wish they’d put it back to how it was.

Corrected. If you click calculate net scores to off when starting a round it all works as should.

It’s great! But I’d love a few more features!

Great app, I’ve been using it for years now and I use it every round. I love being able to preview courses too before playing them.

Would really love to be able to mark the shots / stats with more accuracy though, for example:

Par3 holes, you can only say hit or miss green. I’d like to mark where the misses are (left, short-right, long etc).

Putting, options to put a bit more detail in there (like spiderputting app?), as there is no way to track how close my GIR shots are to the hole.

Driving, can only say hit or miss left, right, long, short. Some drives miss by a foot, some by many yards and prevent an approach shot. I’d like to mark this too so I can track the destructive misses.

Scrambling, when hitting chips into missed GIRs, I’d like to mark how close I’m getting with chips and where the misses are.

Hopefully you can take the feedback on board and further improve this brilliant app! :)

Teething Troubles

As a beginner I was playing a 9 hole course. As with the other apps it’s hard to set up at home in advance. On the tee box, I enabled Apple Watch having to set up a trail subscription, then had problems starting the round as I was trying to play 9 but eventually worked out I have to also set back 9 to the same. This allowed me to start the round but it didn’t track anything. At the end I found an auto track setting. Maybe that needs to be on too even if you have enabled Apple Watch. I think I’ll cancel the trial subscription as it may be more than a week before I can try it again..

Good but not great

I’ve used this app in conjunction with my apple watch for a year now and even subscribed to have the extra tracking feature. At first I was impressed but as time has gone passed it lags so bad now and on my last round the tracking claimed I hit 659 yard drive when I only walked 4 yards towards the ball. Sadly I won’t renew this year as there are many other apps ….. such a shame as I thought it was good but as time has passed it’s not the easiest to use and not very accurate.

Poor show Golfshot dissatisfied.

Upgrade kills my battery

It’s was a good free app so I upgraded.

Since then I get less than 9 holes before my iwatch 3 runs out of battery. I’ve tried changing some of the settings but I’ve still not managed to get round without the battery wearing out.

I’ve resorted to borrowing my friends old Garmin, which, I can get at least 2 rounds off a single charge.

3star as it’s a good app, loses 2 for the battery drain and the fact I can’t find any documentation to help the issue. Maybe a dev could comment?

Brilliant

I’ve got the yearly subscription, I work all over the country and I carry my clubs with me. So I end up playing at new courses all the time, This app helps me when I’m playing on the courses, bunkers distance ect.

Took me a little while to get used to but it’s fine now, I’ve added my club distances to the app. So when I connect to my Apple Watch it will act as a caddie and tell me what club to pull out.

Don’t tee off without it!

This app is fantastic. I keep every round logged with this....and it stores my mates highs and lows on the scorecards. Recently I contacted customer support to make changes to my home club gps details and they did it almost instantly. I’ve been too cheap to upgrade to pro yet, but probably will sooner or later. Five stars!

A year of Golf shot

So I bought the years subscription to golf shot when I started playing cause I knew that the extra information on hazards ect would be valuable to me golf game. I loved the app in 2020, the in 2021, they released the new auto swing tracker... WOOW. I struggled at first with it cause it was draining my Bartlett so intensely on my I watch, but I’ve just completed an 18 hole round of a big course and it’s still got over 40% battery! I play with my phone in my pockets so there is no need for ‘use Watch GPS ‘ to be on, I also have ‘auto advance to next hole’ disabled, this now means that I can score the course fully on my watch. The auto swing tracker works incredibly well, and chooses the suggested club but this can be easily amended. It also tracks weather the shot is on target ect but these can be changed.

I’ve also just seen the shot tracker fly over so now I’m going to go play with that!! Thank you Golf shot, I will be subscribing for another year!

The other good thing is if you a course with a green in the wrong place fore instance the help chat with in the app works really well and it gets amended very quickly.

Great App!

Over 500 games. I am using the Iwatch 2 and now the app has been updated to provide tracking of shots and I need a 3 or great to enable e to use the new features

I have used this app every time I play golf and it has been excellent! I have been to Gran Canaria, France and Spain this year and it has performed brilliantly! The app has been upgraded so that it works better from the “I watch” and independently so that you do not need to take your phone to the Tee position! It can sometimes be a little slow in giving distances but it depends on how often the gps refreshes!

I had a discount when purchasing and was upgraded to pro which gave me stable-ford scores ! I shall be renewing this as I would be lost without it! Let’s hope they look after existing customers!

The best way to improve your golf

The GPS distance to the hole and hazards are invaluable for club selection and the main reason I purchased Pro but there is just so much more.

If only I bought this before, it changes your mindset to playing each hole and I knocked 10 shots off my handicap last week!

Pro version is absolutely superb for recording key stats to identify areas for improvement. Fairways hit, Greens in Regulation, number of puts, short or long, left or right.

Great

I love this app. It works well in free mode but I paid for the pro upgrade to be able to adjust the yardages on the hole overview.

The watch app gives accurate yardages and is simple and easy to use.

Can't wait to try out the new auto-shot tracking next week!

The support team added my new Taylormade clubs to the database within a matter of hours of my request.

Only 1 request would be to allow a bit more flexibility to adjust the modified stableford points a bit more (up to +3) to allow for lesser players.

Gets in the way

I loved the idea of tracking shots with the watch, but the reality was that it was more hassle than manually doing it with my previous app. Also the shot choices / club recommendations were too aggressive for me, always trying to get to the green through trees, rather than just in front of the green.

It may just be the fact my golf is at the level of a good 10 year old, but I also found the app unintuitive. Even manually correcting the auto score wasn’t natural.

If it works for people this is a lovely looking app. But in reality it just got in the way for me.

Promising start

Have used GolfShot for four rounds now with mixed feelings. Map layouts are very good, still getting my head round the recording of what club has been used (especially for second shots)

Editing the scores after a round doesn’t seem to be saved regarding clubs used. Shot tracking is also inconsistent. AR is just too complicated busy(especially if you need to put on your reading glasses to see the info on the phone screen)

Shot tracking via my Apple Watch is also inconsistent but it’s beta at the moment so I have to accept this for the time being as well.

The app also seems a bit American centric but that’s not a deal breaker.

On the whole I admire what the developers are trying to do with the tech and I’m sure things will improve over time so I for one will stick with this product.

Good but buggy at the moment

I subscribe and it’s a really good app on apple watch for distances and recording scores. The shot trackers sometimes doesn’t work accurately though I’m sure this will improve. Biggest recent flaw is the club suggestions. Yesterday the suggestion on a number of holes was to use my 3 wood when only 50 yards away and my 4 iron when on a short par 3. It seemed to default to the wrong club suggestion on nearly every hole. Also the iPhone app is buggy when trying to edit scores and clubs. It sometimes lets you edit and other times I have to go out of edit and back in before it works. Would have been 5 stars if these fundamentals were fixed.

Without doubt the best golf app

Tried a lot of golf apps, but without doubt this is by far the best app. I originally bought it to just record my scores online as it was much easier than writing it down on our paper scorecard but didn’t realize all the features the app has. Has improved my game and lowered my handicap, so what more could you want!

Recently started watching the tutorial videos which are really good so just saved a lot of money as I have spent a fortune on lessons!

Good app although could be slightly better

I use this app on my apple iwatch and I enjoy it, the yards to pin is very accurate which is good. The reason I’m giving it 4 stars is that I would like the app on the watch to go into a auto lock while playing, every 5 minutes or so I need to keep unlocking my watch to find out the yards to the pin which is quite frustrating, if there already is a auto lock on the app can someone tell me how to put it on to save me unlocking my watch every so often ? Thanks

Great app and great customer service

I have used golfshot for about a year and I have absolutely no complaints. Yardages seem broadly accurate, I guess it might be beneficial if they could introduce slope as well eg. 167yd to middle uphill 11Ft but tbh I’m not accurate enough to realistic miss such a feature.

One thing I would say is their service is 5*.

We recently moved to winter tees here at Shipley Golf club West Yorkshire and within 24 hrs of advising golfshot of the new card and revised tees/pars/stroke index’s of each hole, they had updated the app. Perfect for winter skins scoring now the weekly comps are less important.

I payed once, and now I have to pay again!

I bought the full version of this app when I was younger and it was a one off purchase of £20. I was about 14 at the time and it was a big investment that helped my game.

Now I have to pay a subscription of £50 per year for the same functionality I had already bought?! Ridiculous.

Good app though and I’ve got lots of data. It’s a shame your business model does nothing to look after your initial fan base.

Decent App

Decent GPS app on Apple Watch. Really simple to use, automatically detects when you’ve changed holes if you’re not interested in putting scores through the watch. Easy to look at your watch at any point and get a yardage to the centre of the green.

Only downside is I struggled to trust some of the yardages. I was stood next to the 150 marker but the watch would say 175 for example. That might be bad GPS so I‘ll try that again next round.

All in all, pretty good. Having tried a few different apps for Apple Watch I think I may stick with this.

Love it...but please add putting stats

After 498 rounds using golfshot I can confirm it’s outstanding. From time to time the distance may be slightly out but not by much. Super easy to use and the stat recording are excellent. It would be nice to add a feature which you can log the distance of your putts if you wished. I have to use a separate app for that.

I have contacted the customer service twice before to change round our course layout and stroke indexes. Both requests were processed with just a day or two with super friendly and helpful staff.

I cannot recommend the app enough...but can you add more in depth putting stats please?

Disappointing

I’m trying to get a golf GPS app to work with my iPhone and I watch. I downloaded The golfshot app and found it would only work properly if you up graded to the pro.

Fair enough they let you try it free before you have to pay £5 a month so I upgraded.

Sure enough everything worked fine I got front, middle, back, distances of the green and also a chance to see hazards. It also worked on my Apple Watch. Only thing is by the time I got round the course my phone and my watch was flat. What good is that?

Golfshot app

I have only just started using the Golfshot app, but straight away I am really impressed.

I have a SkyCaddie and also a TomTom watch, but this app when used with the IPhone watch is perfect for me.

Works perfectly, with all you could want course information.

I would highly recommend to anyone that plays golf and uses a distance giving device.

Brilliant occasional issues

This app is brilliant for scores, distances and keeping track of your rounds. Unfortunately lately I have noticed it freezing or the gps screen not working during a round, very rare but quite annoying when you want a distance to help choose the right club. Would still highly recommend I just hope this gets sorted. It would also be nice if it had a feature to link to friends and compare scores on courses you have played, like some other apps seem to have.

Brilliant but future amendments

Very good software - really impressed, many features can be slowly added e.g. home course and distance for holing out and nett score for each hole and automatic feedback. Really good app used with regularity.

However, I don’t tent to use it much on the course and instead type my round up afterwards; therefore the links to the Health app are disjointed (e.g. I only did 0.1 miles) so maybe you could allow for specification before the round whether it is actually in progress. Two more improvements: more statistics, percentages etc (best/worst/average score on each hole) and more information about the round - for example was it placing / no placing?

Great support

I have used the app for about 18 months with no trouble on my iPhone 4s then suddenly it started to crash from startup screen. I contacted support and had a reply within 24 hours saying that it was that Apple were not updating the iOS on the 4s but their developers were working on a fix. My first reaction was........a fob-off but no after week or so I had a reply which asked me to download update and it now works again perfectly.

It’s so refreshing to find a company who reacts in such a positive and timely manner. Keep up the great work Margherita and team 👌

Brilliant app

Everything the average golfer needs in terms of managing and analysis of your golf game like having a personal caddie that doesn’t carry your bag....!

Only slight problem can use a lot of battery so had to buy an auxiliary power pack for my iPhone 6 ( small issue) so make sure you properly close down your other apps while using this one .

Also the new upgrade doesn’t seem to have a power saving mode which is a shame ....but those are very minor issues fr what is IMO

Good but watch not working

Have used golf shot for about 18months with about 100 rounds played using it, always been first class and hassle free even when travelling abroad, However since I changed to iPhone X I am having issues syncing to the watch have tryed installing and reinstalling many times and keep

Getting stuck in the ‘start or resume round on your phone’ message with trying to use it on watch despite it having been started, it stays this way for the full round and pulls the health data so is annoying now I can’t get the gps

Golf Shot Review

I have used golf shot for a year. It is a fantastic app which is easy to use. The pro version is excellent allowing you to manipulate distances and pre plan course management. This includes locating hazards and doglegs, this is especially useful when playing courses for the first time. This has helped my own course management which in turn has improved my scoring. The statistics section is excellent and quick and easy to use on the course. This shows improvements over time. I have logged 80 rounds in Golfshot and I can clearly see where I am improving. I would suggest better interaction with the Apple Watch for future improvements, there is often a delay when waiting for distances on the watch, this is different than the app. I will continue to use Golfshot in the future and highly recommend to other golfers. Disadvantage for being a long time member!

I’ve been a member for years for US$50/- with everything thrown in. Now I noticed Golf shots is charging monthly/yearly rate. When I signed up, it’s for life. So now they have taken a lot from me. First it was the distance. I cannot tap for distant to specific point. It only gives me to the green.

Now I can’t get to put in my scores per hole. Forget about putting your friends score! I think this is very unprofessional & dishonest!

Amazing support

I got this app to use on my new Apple Watch and at first I was really disappointed because my course has recently been re organised and had holes removed and replaced.

When I first got the app I saw that the course was the old layout. I could still use the app but the holes were not in the right order so it was a hassle scoring my round etc.

I thought I’ll email support on the off chance I get a response regarding changing the course for me. I emailed them thinking they’ll be no way someone will get back to me and make these changes anytime soon.

To my amazement, Ryan in support contacted me straight away and in two days has the course up to date and working perfectly.

Not only is this a great app for golf but the support is different league!

Glitchy - slow with Apple watch

Had high hopes for this app. Been using FunGolf GPS for a couple of years but thought I'd streamline with my friends who use golfshot. So I bought the licensed version (marketing messages not clear re differences of the 'plus' version, all very confusing. After playing on the course, didn't like it :( the Apple watch functions were slow and glitchy. Showed different distances to friends from the same spot. Takes an age for the distances to settle correctly. On the watch you can only score your own score. The watch app is still in its infancy. FunGolf GPS is instant and you can score all four players on the watch and it works completely independent of the phone but syncs immediately in split seconds too. Sorry golfshot, really wanted it to work. Happy to give it another go when the gps sync speed is sorted.
