Meatbags! I come bearing a long-awaited update with lots of fixes and improvements.
- As long as you leave me open in the foreground, you can now lock your screen before bed and my alarm will still sound - even with Silent or Do Not Disturb modes enabled!
- My alarm will no longer get blocked from going off because of a calendar alert or an iOS update.
- I'll actually allow you to turn your flashlight off after you turn it on.
- Meatbags who use me with external speakers or headphones can now set more sensible defaults for my alarm output.
- All the daylight saving bugs my idiot Maker introduced in past versions should finally be squashed. (Famous last words.)

Nice concept, flawed execution
The idea behind Carrot Alarm is a good one, albeit not a new one—an alarm that won't turn off without some additional input. The input to solve is well thought out, funny, and just the right difficulty. Which is why it's a shame I can't recommend this app.
Firstly the features advertised do not work as described. For instance it states Carrot won't let you Snooze and won't turn off until the tasks have been solved, yet there is a functioning snooze feature, which doesn't require any tasks, and even without solving the tasks the alarm disables after a short time.
Secondly while I like the idea of levelling up to unlock new features this app locks some fairly core features behind a length levelling process. Things like repeating alarms. It's nice to have the levelling for new alarm tones and such but not for core features of an alarm clock.

Awesome! Best alarm clock and companion ever!
Highly recommended! It can do anything I wish for! The only thing what is bad is that it sometimes crashes when I press the share dream button apart from that highly recommended. Not only it is an alarm clock it also has a personality! I also like the level up feature/rewards. What more can you ask for? Share it with your friends! Still not convinced? Your worried about other reviews which are underrated? Well guess what not only that! It can run in the background when other alarm clocks can't! It is fantastic for the price! Now what are you waiting for? Meet carrot today! The talking alarm clock who gets angry when you don't wake up 😁

Good idea, doesn't work
Turning notifications on still doesn't make the alarm work. All I get is a list of notifications on the screen. Pity, as the idea has appeal.

Essential
I've tried lots of alarm apps, as I'm not good at getting up in the morning. I find this to be head and shoulders above the rest. Simply because to 'chores' you have to do to turn off the alarm wake you up properly and with a smile.
Definite five star from me, wouldn't be without this app.

Hardly ever works, iOS 10 as I understand makes it a lot easier for apps like this to work without all this nonsense of having to leave it in the foreground and such, clearly won't benefit from this seeing as it hasn't been updated in over a year ! I've just paid money for this very annoyed

Refund please! Amazing concept one major issue
This app does not work, left my phone on loud, notifications set to alert, phone left on charge and the app in the foreground, with so many complaints about this problem why don't you try fixing it? Updates have come and gone and yet this MAJOR bug hasn't been resolved. Guys, this is an alarm app (with a great concept by the way) if I didn't have a back up alarm I would have been screwed for work, thrice! (3x)

Not a happy customer
First time I've paid for an app and first time I've left a review. This alarm hasn't gone off either night I have used it so far. I do everything the app tells me and it still hasn't yet gone off. Desperately needs an update otherwise it's getting uninstalled.

Great idea, but doesn't work.
It's a great idea, and the carrot humour is great. But time and again it doesn't work, no alarm just a series of angry notifications when I do finally wake up. I've used a rival alarm app (ie. Not apple), and that's worked pretty much every time. This is despite setting up as stated, top app open prior to lock.
It's a real shame, but if you can't make a reliable alarm, the point of it really, then it's pretty pointless.

Useless app, want refund
I used it as they say, keep app open then lock phone. Morning time comes and no alarm. The iOS alarm I set as backup went off and when I unlocked my phone the app alarm started. Double click and swipe and it stops. So no real point to this app or likely any alarm apps

None of this loving, tuneful stuff. Carrot is evil and irritating, being made to do actions wakes you up fully. Does what it needs to do and does it well.

AMAZING but...
I love this app and the funny chores make me smile, however leaving it in the foreground rarely works. There's also no way to turn off the option of a snooze so quite often I'll accidentally press snooze. The alarm after snooze is then extremely loud which I get worried about waking up the rest of my family. All in all I'd say it's a fantastic app but if we could choose not to have a snooze option (I've never deliberately pressed a snooze button in my life), I'd give it five stars.

Brilliant when it works but unreliable
This intermittently doesn't go off even though I set it up the same every evening in the foreground when I lock my phone. I have had to start using the iPhone default alarm as a back up which defeats the point. When it doesn't go off it puts text notifications on the lock screen which make no sound so do not wake you up. She is supposed to go mad if you don't click wake up within a certain time so sleeping in by an hour was not expected. I woke up to find a series of irate but silent notifications on the phone. This is a pretty nasty bug and really lets the app down. When it has gone off I've been straight out of bed cos she is not nice at all when she's angry. I'm normally a really bad snoozer so I was finding this app brilliant until it let me down so now I can't rely on it which is a shame.

If you want a gentle wake up in the morning then I'm afraid Carrot isn't for you! She wakes you up LOUDLY and then ensures you're awake by insisting on completion of tests that really tax your brain when you're half asleep. Well worth the expense, it makes me laugh everyday

Not my cup of tea
The rudeness is not really funny, it's calling me meat at - I get it you're a software, haha. Maybe I would have liked this when I was 18. However, the worst part is that the alarm doesn't go off in vibration odd, which makes it clearly worse than the apple clock.

This app really makes sure you're awake, it provides you with tasks to do to prove that you're awake, and believe me you have no other choice.

I love this app but it needs to work in silent!
I have been using this for a couple of weeks. It is good and gets me up without fail every day. However, last night I forgot to put my phone on loud and as a result the alarm didn't sound this morning. This is really frustrating, as if you launch the app in silent it still talks/makes noises so surely it should be able to make the alarm sounds too? At the very least it should play no sounds at all when setting the alarm so that you can realise that your phone is still in silent! This needs to be sorted out!!! Would be 5 star if not for this ridiculous issue!

trigger warnings are needed
Please, for the love of God, give this app a trigger warning... if you close the app (which I did, because I had no idea how to turn it off) it starts saying things like 'who was that man I saw standing over your bed while you slept?'. And I've now been having a severe panic attack for 50 minutes when I was supposed to have woken up.
