Electronic Sound is a UK-based magazine dedicated to the very best in electronic music. Each issue features weighty interviews, in-depth reviews, great photography, and lots of video and audio clips.
We’ve drawn a line through the entire history of electronica and we're intent on finding new ways to join the dots. From the early academics to the krautrockers, from synthpunk and synthpop to electro and house and techno, from ambient noodling and wonky downtempo to electronic darkwave and industrial music, and then all the way up to the countless acts that make for today’s fractured and fascinating scene, you'll find all this and more in Electronic Sound. Tune in and oscillate!

Cracking read.

Stumbled across the paper mag last year. Enjoyed the read on holiday and subscribed when I got home. Starting to work my way through the older editions. A really good way to find new music as well. Not all to my 80s synth pop preferences, but always good to experiment.

Very nicely designed and written

Much more aesthetically pleasing than future music. Catered very much towards the synth lover.

The ultimate electronic music mag

Used to be great.

This used to a really good example of what ought to be done with electronic magazines, it had clickable contents, different sized pages, artwork that magically appeared, embedded music. It was cool. Then they decided to move effort to a print magazine and it's all gone wrong.
Now it's just a buggy pdf reader. Issue 20 is where it starts. With an error message. Then it refuses to save my place after I exit the app and the bookmarks don't work. I've decided not to renew the subscription when it's up in August. Wish I could get a refund though. This is not the magazine I subscribed to anymore.

‘Synthly' amazing

This magazine has my fingers ‘strumming' and ‘drumming’ and one of the best 'produced'. I checked the free ‘sampler’ they offer and thought ‘Korg’! blimey!, this is ‘Massive' - it looks the ‘Komplete’ article, I gotta have this on subscription. Some of the music they show are way better than my ‘Garageband’ and what my ‘Rockmate’ can play. If they feature this review somewhere in the mag, that would be the ‘Final Touch’ for me!

Synth tastic

This is by far the best magazine of its kind. The interviews are top draw professional, the content is all encompassing and beautifully presented. Very neat embedded videos with external links to a whole library of other related material from the artist you're reading about. Highlights for me are the Vince Clarke interview by Jason Bradbury and the coverage of the Depeche Mode Delta Machine Tour.

The future and the past!

One of the few magazines I read from "cover" to "cover". Lots of articles about bands and musicians from 70s/80s gives this magazine a context, but also covers more contemporary bands that are working in the genre.
If you like electronic music, in whatever form, there is something here for you.

Essential Subscription

Finally, the gap in the market of music magazines has arrived. From early 80s synth bands, to 70s electronic legends, to obscure, left field experimentalism to up and coming, cutting edge underground techno, this publication covers it all.
No longer do we need to buy a magazine for one or two articles and discard it without reading the rest. These guys have page after page of educational, insightful and forward thinking content, where the enthusiasm shines through on every page.
Absolutely brilliant - A massive well done from me, and thoroughly recommended to those undecided.

excellent :):)

great first issue, good interviews review etc, i look forward to seeing how this develops over time. just one thing, unless I've missed it I can't see a date for the release each month. If it's around the same as the first issue it should be due any moment, can't wait :)

A new magazine about electronic music? Yes please!

This is a really thorough magazine, beautifully designed with great interviews and review, all with embedded audio so you listen while you read. If you like electronic music, you'll love this.

A very promising 1st (electronic) issue

There's definitely a gap in the market for a quality publication about this genre of music. Hopefully this will fill it and more.
The first issue is very accessible, has a clear interface and excellent articles. The writing isn't half bad, either.
Highly recommended.
Good luck to Push and Mark.
