It’s just a bad app

I installed this app about six months ago and can honestly say it’s the most useless one I’ve installed, it has no activity and will send me notifications to tell me people are in my daily ‘stack’ when they aren’t. On top of that the user interface is just awful, trying to figure how to do anything is difficult. I had to contact support just to find out how to delete my account because the process is so convoluted. Would not recommend.

Expensive

Not sure how good it is and if any of the profiles are of actual real people but one thing is sure. It’s very expensive. You have to spend ‘beans’ to say you like someone and it costs roughly 385 beans to like a single person. 3000 beans for £23.99!! Then you have to pay for a subscription on top of that for a premium profile £34.00 for 1 month!! Remains to be seen if it will take off as it seems it’s trying to exclude people by the size of their wallet. Literally there’s a page in the interface called ‘wallet’.

It seems really limiting and slightly racist that you can filter people in the “discover” tab by race but not religion? I’m trying to meet more people who share my faith; I don’t care what they look like. Also, why can’t I “complete” my profile without saying where I work? I’ve put what I do—as my company only has one location in the area, I don’t feel comfortable sharing more. Completeness should be limited to the essentials.

Can’t delete my profile

This app is bad. Dowloanded it to try it but it’s very bad and now it doesn’t give me the option to delete my profile. I have contacted them but haven’t heard back. stay away from it. waste of time

Disappointed

Pros:

Allow you to set filter on several criteria such as distance, race age and so on.

Cons:

Only get 5 people to swipe with everyday even though I set the parameters to 400km. It got worse when I was travelling to Europe mainland, where I only got shown one profile per day.

The worst: there is no option to delete my profile, so there is no real “quit” in this. They still have all your information, who knows how they are going to do with it.

Scam artists on the lose

I’m not sure if admins are aware that this app is full of scam artists. Guys who are looking for someone to invest in their business or soldiers who are all alone and need support and so on.

Where can I report these people? It’s really worrying that some soldiers are dragged into mud and your app is making it happen...I’m sure women are smart enough to see it but still it shouldn’t happen. So far I have spoken to 5 guys all of them are there not for dating purpose...

The guys have to spend money to buy coffee beans just to send “likes” to girls. It takes you £3-4 just to send a meaningless like and you know nothing about their name nor can you drop them a message. Totally waste of time or money. Why can’t the devs allow users to know girls’ names and drop them a message? OkCupid did it right and guys get better experience and responses there compared to this app. I wasted quite some money buying coffee beans and still no fun interaction like in OkCupid. Redo the app and make it more interactive or risk losing users!

This app is ridiculous. So awful I deleted pretty much straight away. That was months and months back yet this app keeps reappearing on my phone. No profile and can’t even open/get into the app but takes up space on my phone and no way of deleting it off! I’ve contacted them endlessly and have had no help. Worst app ever and I’d stay well clear!!!!

Very expensive and, despite full subscription, the app keeps on asking for extra fundings to “unlock” more matches.

Algorithms don’t work and suggested matches are either miles away or completely of a different age group.

Terrible app. I have emailed support and have asked for my money back as I deleted the app but haven’t heard from App Store - I just want my money back please!

Good for London

I have been using this app on and off since January. Men on the app aren’t looking for something serious, however I have been on a date with a banker which turned out alright, although I feel very uncomfortable with the idea of dating someone with a lot of power and money. So not for serious relationships but the dates are good :)

Three weeks and not a single conversation

Not one. This is abnormal, surely.

Also ran out of beans because I never realised that you "pay" to like someone on the discover tab.

Kept hitting the pay wall.

Once, I was told that another 28 people had liked the person I'd hit "like" on so he wouldn't see my profile for at least 5 days. Unless I paid to send "flowers".

Not worth my time.

And NOT designed to be a viable product for free. Only if you pay. And even then I'm not sure.

💔 didn’t get anything

Have used this for 10 days. I had daily bagels and discoveries for 3. The rest nothing. I logged in every day for 0 matches and 0 discoveries. I didn’t even get the daily log in rewards either.

For the 3 days I did receive matches, it totally ignored my preferences.

Seems like a good concept but fails to deliver.

So basically it’s like tinder but worse instead of getting 12 likes etc you just get one per day and when we have the discover part where all girls have great pictures etc but you can’t see when they were last on unless you pay. When we have the chat part which you can only do if someone likes you back and seeing that every discover girl costs 500 coffee beans and you get that every 7 days. So you can etheir have a minger or a model and guess what no model will pick the average joe so your not going to be to use half the app.

UX improvements required

It’s really a quite average dating app in terms of the user quality. However, more importantly there’s a huge flaw in the UX in discovery feed. Namely, as you may know users use their right thumb to scroll in the feed, however it is very easy to accidentally click on the connect button as it’s just there in the way when trying to scroll through users. I have lost so many beans by accidentally connecting with some dudes I never would. Fix this please!

Take the Speed out of Dating

This app makes sense in principle, but in execution it’s garbage.

Instead of browsing through hundreds of potential partners as you would on Tinder or Bumble, you are limited to a single highlighted profile to look at each day. Just one. If he or she isn’t to your taste, tough luck. Come back tomorrow!

Sure, the discoverer option gives you a small handful of alternative profiles to view, but even that is very limited and doesn’t update until the next day.

All in all, if you’re looking to find an attractive potential partner with similar interests to you, and you’re using CMB to do it, you might be waiting until you’re dead.

Stick to the dating apps that actually allow you to search for people!

Very slow in the bootstrap phase and too few matches

Back in the days I would have rated this app 5 stars, but now a few things have changed.

First of all, the app takes too long to launch, and it's not about the connection. It uses to be faster, I have no idea what happened.

Secondly, I don't have matches at all. I know I can't blame the app for this, but I wonder why before I had. I guess the algorithm should prioritise active members. I have the feeling that many members are not actually active ones. Nevertheless it used to be a nice app, and I hope it would be back being as good as before

Wonderful Relaxed and well though out app

I am extremely happy with CMB, I managed to meet my now girlfriend though the app.

I’ve been totally blown away by the app, it’s a very relaxed vibe and everyone seems to be very genuine and searching for their perfect someone. The user friendly app makes it so simple to spark up the right conversation with the RIGHT person.

I am overjoyed to find my special someone and all thanks to you at CMB.

Annoying notifications

Not a bad app. Though you get the more attractive profiles in the discover tab which you have to pay for to ‘like’ - hmmm. The most annoying thing however is the notifications. Notification badge daily about ‘new’ matches. Notification badge about a chat expiring. Basically a nuisance notification for any excuse. You could disable these, but then you wouldn’t know if someone had sent you a message. Not as good as Tinder or Bumble.

It’s algorithm prioritizes active users and giving you a limit of people you can swipe through actually engages you more in your choice.

This app actually used to be great for liking or passing on girls you want to date, but it's become nothing but a watered down money-machine with no passion. It purposely shows you bagels every day that you clearly aren't interested in dating, and puts all the individuals that you are interested in into the 'discover' section - knowing full well that they are the people you are interested in, but here's the catch: you need to pay money for beans to obtain them, and a lot of money at that.

Surprisingly poor dating app.

I downloaded CMB after hearing about it on a podcast. Previously I'd only used tinder with which I'd had a good experience with though was intrigued by CMB's policy of getting guys to like or pass on prospective matched before sending only the pofiles of guys who liked them onto the girls. It's quite skewed towards the women and not gender neutral and all, but whatever, so are a lot of dating apps i guess. What I found frustrating is being asked to subscribe for seemingly very little added value. I did not subscribe because even subscribers had to pay further for usage of most of the features which seems unfair given quite substantial subscription fees.

Potential matches were poor. The algorithm whatever it is does not seem to be a good one. I'd stay clear of this one unless you have lots of money to burn.

I liked the photo comparison feature though! Again though, requires you to use 'beans' which are sold as an extra.

One of the worst dating apps

You get 6 terrible 'matches' a day and the whole concept of the app is based on running out of coffee beans (you need to spend your beans to do anything on this app, even like someone's profile) and then being reminded you can pay with cash for more coffee beans. It's more of a 'coffee bean hunt' game than anything to do with dating. Don't waste your time, and definitely don't waste your money!
