add filters to the inbox

Why oh why is there no filtering or management on the inbox. It’s next to impossible to find which items are outstanding postage or action when selling multiple items because all messages are jumbled together in the inbox.
Please please please add a filter.

Scam

Is all fine until you do get someone sell you something damaged or fake or not what was advertised, Vinted expect you to pay to send them back aswell as not be refunded for the postage on the way!
So you lose £ 6-8 just returning something if it isn’t your fault! The buyer nor the seller gets the delivery money back and vinted keeps it..
Scam!!!
I was blatently scammed on this app and had pics to prove it but as ‘something still arrived’ i couldn’t get a refund or send the item back.

Do not recommend

I uploaded legit real brand shoes recently and Vinted keeps removing and warning them. Even after sending proof of purchase and the id they simply claimed the shoes were fake and banned my account. The shoes have been uploaded before with no issue and are not fakes.
Highly would not recommend a site which moderators can’t tell from a real ID and real order confirmation that an item is legit.
Don’t waste your time.

Vinted blocked me from reporting an item missing in the list and kept my money

I’ve used Vinted for years and generally love the platform – I buy and sell regularly and have always had positive experiences with other users. Unfortunately, my recent experience with customer support has been really disappointing.
An item I purchased went missing in the post. It took six weeks for Vinted to acknowledge the issue, and when I tried to report it properly through the platform, the system failed and wouldn’t allow me to submit the report. I did raise a support enquiry and followed the process as best as I could, however the delay in their reply took me over the 48 hours allotted reporting time.
The seller actually tried to help and was supportive throughout, but Vinted ultimately said I hadn’t followed the correct procedure. As a result, the case wasn’t progressed. I paid for an item that I never received, the seller has the money, and I’ve been left with nothing to show for it.
What’s most frustrating is that the issue was never escalated to the courier to investigate the missing parcel. For a platform that handles so many transactions, you’d expect a clearer process and better support when something goes wrong.
I still like Vinted and will probably continue using it, but this experience has definitely shaken my confidence. It makes me wonder how many other buyers have had similar issues when parcels go missing.

Terrible customer service.

When i attempted to sell a brand new pair of shoes that had never been worn i faced issue with a buyer, after multiple authenticity checks before purchase the buyer received the item authenticity checked again and came back saying that the pair was completely fine (you’d believe this was smooth sailing from here but you’d be wrong) a few hours later the buyer contacted me claiming that the shoes were really good reps that could pass a authenticity check and demanded i offer a 70% refund to which i declined knowing this was a attempt to scam me based off of prior messages and my knowledge of the product i sold, when i contacted support showing the blatant attempt to scam me support was of no help requesting i provide a authenticity check within 24 hours of which i could not due to not having possession of the shoes, after a back and forth for about 2 hours the buyer then agreed to return the shoes, still not exactly solving the issue as there has been no attempt to deal with the actions made by the buyer, i feel the support team lacks the support essence entirely. i’ve not once had an experience this bad with a support team especially in the case of potential scams. so do be warned when using this app and make sure u have sufficient evidence of what you’ve sold the condition of it and authenticity because people can’t be trusted and support isn’t going to help your situation.

Vinted is a full scam

First of all, I’d like to start by saying that I was forced into making a “pro account” by vinted. This just means that I have to wait weeks for my money, and it all stays within vinted while they earn money on it. If I didn’t join pro, they say I would be banned completely. I have been fine using this pro account until recently, where they have prevented me from getting any money out of my balance. This means that vinted had £1000 of mine and is keeping it. No matter how many people from “support” I talk to, it can’t be fixed and I’m not able to get my money. They tell you it may take up to 48 hours for a reply, but once you speak to an actual human, that turns into 5 days, and even then they have taken up to 10 for me! That is a very long time to wait when a lot of my money is on the line and I receive no help or any solution. To make things worse, they have recently started allowing people from the US into vinted. Of course, this is great as we can get more products and sell more things, however, vinted seems to have blocked me from buying or selling to any US customers. Again, I try to contact support but they tell me there is absolutely no way of fixing it when everyone else is fine. It a completely unfair app and I would not recommend it to anyone, there are many better alternatives that have useful support.

Good when you know what your doing with it

This app works very well when your selling things and you understand what’s expected from the seller while using tha app. It’s when you don’t understand what’s expected that things go wrong. Vinted support are there to help you but they are slow to respond, they using an automated bot system which isn’t very helpful. When you have a problem you only have a certain amount of time to sort it out before Vinted basically conclude the sale and release the funds to the buyer . You have to suspend the sale and work on sorting it out with the timeframe they give you. Lots of sellers argue they don’t accept returns particularly around sizing issues. This is a nightmare because Vinted totally support this policy and won’t allow you to return any thing if it’s the wrong size unless you can prove your argument, against it. But in reality it’s very simple to accept a return and to return something but a lot of the sellers don’t understand this and will use vinteds policy to not accept a return and then they get paid any way , regardless and that is the downside to using this app. Because a lot of clothes are not the correct sizes. So buy at your own risk but you can sell well.

awful app, no protection for sellers

id give 0 stars if i could.
tried selling an item i no longer needed anymore. when someone bought it i shipped it off with royal mail who even gave me a receipt as proof of shipping. i also had constant emails updating me on where the item was. it arrived at the pick up point and i waited almost a week with no update about the buyer going to collect it. after about 6 days, the buyer filed a claim saying the item had not been delivered to them and they wanted a refund. i calmly explained that when buying it, they didn’t select home delivery, and that it was waiting at the pick up point for them to collect it. i sent a screenshot of my receipt, sent screenshots of the emails i had updating me on where the parcel was (including the final email, which said that it was currently at the pickup point) and I was also giving a tracking number in one of the emails, so I sent them screenshot from the official Royal Mail tracking website, which also said it was waiting for them at the pickup point. I received no further contact from them after that. Shortly after I was notified that Vinted took money from me without my knowledge or permission, and gave it back to the buyer who had zero proof as a refund. So here I am left without my money and without the product I sent even though I had evidence that it was waiting for them to pick up. Not the first time this has happened to me. and this is also happened to people I know who use Vinted..

Bad customer support yet paying of insurance on each item

I’ve been using the app for about 3 years, I loved it at the beginning as a way to declutter, it’s really going downhill and they will slowly loose their customers the way it’s going
1. Support from vinted is almost non existent for sellers- I sent an item that the buyer did not collect and it came back and it was damaged in the post- it took 3 days for an agent to get back to me (as the bot was saying the buyer will need to report EVEN if the buyer never picked it up) when I got a message back they said I am not entitled to compensation because it wasn’t packaged sufficiently- for referrence I sent very strong acrylic item that was hard to break as is- 3 layers of bubble wrap and also put a fragile sticker on the pack
2. The cost of buyer protection on top of delivery is getting too much (which is why now as a seller you need to price your items so incredibly low it’s not even worth selling) but as a buyer if I find an item that would cost £10 as new and someone is selling it for £3 with protection and packaging it comes up to £7-8 for a second hand item at which point I might as well just buy the item new. Plus if you do actually have a problem with an item (counterfit products which the app is completely filled with now) good luck getting a refund, protection paid for nothing.

Support is lacking

Good idea and a handy way to discard of unwanted goods, but the T&Cs are so regularly updated it’s difficult to keep track. I’ve found that the help & support wording differs depending on when and where you are accessing them from. I have yet to find the same advice twice. Maybe I have too many scruples, but I have recently had a seller send me something that had significant damage not declared and when I flagged the issue immediately on receipt, they would only refund if I returned it despite the photos I sent differing from theirs, they assured me I would be compensated for the return postage but I had to use the vinted label and this gets deducted from my refund, they have since claimed they don’t know how to compensate me and gone silent. Vinted’s autobots have done nothing to help except send me round in circles telling me the issue is resolved, ignoring the real issue which is that someone is getting away with selling damaged goods to people who are buying in good faith based on false advertising, and there is no consequence for that seller as they are free to continue to sell damaged goods. Vinted haven’t told them off, I can’t review them, and only if they have been offensive can I report them. So I am penalised, out of pocket with no item, but they continue as though nothing has happened and are able to mislead more chumps like me at leisure. I find it strange that the ‘buyer protection’ everyone pays only actually covers people who press the ‘buy now’ option when there also are other ways to pay. A few too many loopholes, pushback and potential for misunderstanding to consider buying or selling high priced items on here.

Great UI and simplicity in listing

The overall “ergonomic” design and aesthetic layout is great for new and chronic users , it’s relaxing on the eyes whilst also providing a vast array of features for both buyers and sellers. Truly better than most software applications currently available on the market! There used to be no ad banners but recently it seems they need more revenue in this current economy lol, There’s usually a lot of better prices on brand new items available here than on other websites , the luxury items are also a decent price set by most buyers. The only issue is Vinted Corp are scared of HMRC and like to burden sellers with reports on listing quantity as well as types of conditions that items can be sold in. So if you have a lot of collections or items that you want to sell in order to make some space at home you’re going to have to endure Vinted’s scrutiny on Capital Gains Tax as they want to report anything as “Taxable income”, maybe it’s on MangoPay’s end as an outsourced service but it’s just overly excessive. There have been a lot of improvements though to protect buyers and sellers from bad courier service or scams by buyers/sellers. You will most likely have a pleasant experience 99% of the time on Vinted though ❤️

Fairly good but needs improvement

I use the app a lot to get some great bargains, especially during a cost of living crisis, and the people are usually nice (with exceptions occasionally) but sometimes because of the help centre I actually lose out on money. Recently I made two purchases of different jewellery as a present (one for my mother and one for my sister) however they did not arrive to me. I checked every little crevice and checked with the neighbours. I looked at a neighbours security camera footage and there were no cars on my street that day (which isn’t uncommon as I live fairly remotely from the town). I reported this but the vinted help centre just said that they were reported as delivered so therefore they must’ve been delivered. They released the payments and I was given no compensation or refunds. This isn’t the first time this has happened. Furthermore, I also reported someone as they were being very rude and disrespectful towards me and even called me some names that should definitely not be allowed on this app. All I did was offer her a discount on an item she favourited and told her I always ship parcels by the end of the week. I was told that they could do nothing despite me having proof. The app itself is a great idea and I’ve met some really nice people and gotten some great deals but the help centre really is just a let down as it doesn’t fix any issues and it makes people lose out on money.

Good app, plenty of bargains, needs more refining on the search

I’ve personally not encountered many issues on Vinted and none that weren’t easily solved. My main quip is that the search results should be more filtered. E.g “black maxi dress”, the only refining you can do is “maxi dress” “black” “size x” “£-££” but there are literally thousands of results for this and 90% of them are white with black accents, red with black buttons, gingham, pink with black stitching, very few results will show a plain black maxi dress. There should be extra filters under colour, like patterned, gingham, check. Or something like main colour, secondary colour, additional colours. You get sick of trawling through results that aren’t what you’re looking for. It doesn’t help that a lot of sellers don’t use key words, like “long sleeve crop top” they’ll just put black ladies top, so you can’t just search for what you want either without using filters.
^adding to, what on earth is going on with Evri shipping? I’ve never had so many issues with shipping until recently. I’ve had 3 parcels I’ve sent go missing through Evri, and 2 items I’ve bought have gone missing with Evri. I’ll be turning the Evri option off because it’s ridiculous.
ETA: WAY TOO MANY NOTIFICATIONS. WTAF. I don’t need a notification every single day about shipping an order.

my favourite app here are just my suggestions !

vinted is really the best second hand app for buying, selling or just looking around ! I have found loads of amazing vintage clothes from the 90s and 2000s, with amazing quality and really kind sellers. But I do have a few suggestions for improvement. Often, I’m looking through clothes on “home” and I come across a few items I have already favourited. It’s a bit annoying, but not that bad, although I would like it if the vinted team could make sure you only get items you haven’t favourited/ seen yet. And also one thing I would really like the team to improve: ban some brands. Let me explain, often I come across brands like SHEIN, Temu, Cider, wish, AliExpress…I think you get what I mean. I understand that people want to sell their clothes but vinted is made for vintage clothes worth something, not cheap polyester made by a poor child last month. I know it doesn’t only annoy me, but many other users who have also said they even stopped using vinted because of it! Other than these two suggestions I will still use vinted and I’m sure it will stay my favourite second hand app, until of course another might come around with JUST vintage clothing and only new recommendations.
If you have read all of this, thank you for your time.

Only care about your money

Has to be the worse run app going, buyer protection that doesn’t protect the buyer rather they protect the fraudulent seller. Be warned a seller can send you absolutely anything doesn’t matter what they advertised and if you request a return you will have to pay the return postage. You order a pair of shoes? The seller can send you a literal empty bag and you then have to decided whether you send back the empty bag at the expense of you buying the postage label, the tape, fuel and your time to return it. So be warned every purchase you make you can be conned and vinted’s response is you agreed to the terms and conditions so they won’t do anything. They simply allow fraud to take place and the fraudulent seller doesn’t get any action taken against them, only the buyer is punished. Also don’t waste your time trying to contact them they’ve had the same message that they’re extremely busy for over 3 years but still spend money advertising the app when they can’t even handle the current users of the app. When you do get into contact with them it’s 2 days later and it’s automated response from a bot which they end the message with a name as they think you’re dumb enough to believe it. No customer call number or online chat like other sites, so just be warned when buying something or even selling something as I know many people who have been scammed by a buyer and they of course don’t help there too

Customer Service is dreadful

Whenever a seller does something wrong, you can leave them feedback but they can also leave it for you. So if a seller doesn’t send your item and you give them 1*, they can then give you 1* back and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it even though you were a good customer, paid promptly, didn’t message the seller etc. When you ask Vinted to remove it, they’ll send you a message saying they’re sorry for the bad experience and they’ve disciplined the seller, but they still won’t remove the retaliation feedback even though you’ve done absolutely nothing wrong! This affects your score. The message they send you detailing why they won’t remove feedback, even when it’s unfairly given, makes absolutely no sense and when you counter their points and show that it’s been given unfairly with evidence, they just ignore you and say they won’t delete it. How can you say ‘thanks for reporting it and making Vinted a more trustworthy place, we’ve disciplined the seller and refunded you’ but then not delete their bad feedback they’ve given in spite for no valid reason at all! It’s absolutely bizarre! They also encourage YOU to get the seller (who’s already messed you around) to delete their feedback, why on earth would you want to get into a back and forth with a seller who basically tried to scam you out of your money? Isn’t that what customer service is for???? Honestly it could be such a great app but their ethics, morals and customer service are absolutely terrible! The messages their staff send you are also extremely rude as well and so unprofessional.

Non existent customer service

Vinted in theory is a great app in regards to reducing waste and being able to buy some great items at reduced cost, but the lack of customer service is what lets it down dramatically. It’s non existent. I had the app for a while and honestly loved it to I needed assistance and have been let down every single time. They don’t follow their own rules, and it is increasingly feeling like a scam. They make you pay for buyer protection and literally give you nothing in regards to protection in return. It reeks of the PPI type con that people previously faced with finance companies etc. I believe one day we will all be claiming missold buyer protection fees lol. Why should the buyer foot the bill of a cost of return if seller sold you an item substantially not as described? Yet this is the issue so many face and the tip of the iceberg to say the least. Bottom line it is a con and yes you will enjoy it to begin with but rest assure when you need help or support they will fall completely flat. You will end up out of pocket. This app should and will likely be shutdown one day by trading standards once enough people start to complain, a quick search on trust pilot will tell you all you need to know - positive reviews are few and far between and the ones who do leave positive reviews are just fortunate enough or early enough invested to have not seen what a complete useless bunch of delinquents the people who represent Vinted are.

Poor customer service

There is a great selection of items on Vinted &, as with most selling sites, the vast majority of the sellers are trustworthy. The only problem is when there are issues with items bought & never received. Especially when you have to wait 4 weeks before putting in a complaint about it so they can hang onto your money & “investigate”. The fact that the courier advises you that they have damaged the item & you sent this proof to Vinted & receive nothing back from them until you constantly chase things up. Seller details or the purchased item details no longer available so you can’t even get in to find any further info, very dodgy. They then get upset when I put a claim into my bank due to none delivery of the item. You then go round in circles with the Vinted customer service department, with them sending out standard email replies advise that you have to drop the claim with your bank before they will progress things. So some 7 weeks on they still have not confirmed that I will get my money back off Vinted or when, so I will not drop my claim with my bank.
Like I said every seller, apart from this one has been first class. Vinted, I wouldn’t even call their customer support economy class. Shocking from them.

Vinted: the app that borrows your money

Vinted win by holding our money. To buy something, your money is taken in a second. If you wish to quickly cancel, it will take DAYS, business days for the refund to re-enter your account. During those days your money is invested and used by the owners of the app as they please. When you buy something, for £250, Vinted have access to that money straight away which they invest and do as they please and then eventually when the parcel arrives and has been looked over, they give the money back. By that time they've already profited from investment and from "buyers protection fee". You cannot count of the Vinted support team. For one dispute they give a certain outcome and then for another dispute of the same nature they give the opposite outcome. In the beginning this app seemed too good to be true, but when you can't rely on a certain outcome and you're stressed wondering if you'll be refunded or not, parcels lost I the post, waiting for refunds, waiting for payments, you realise at any given point Vinted owes you money- lots of money- and boy is it hard to get it off them. So no. This app drains your bank and your emotions. Don't do it.

Endless loop of blunt and unhelpful customer support

I’ve been selling on the app for a few weeks, and upon trying to withdraw my balance keep being met with an error message. After contacting customer support, I’m told to send a bank statement to prove the account is mine and they will “reset it” so the other user will no longer have access. I do so, only to be told by another person that it’s impossible to remove the account number and I need to use another bank account. I only have one bank account and not used Vinted before so this is not an option for me and you’ve offered no alternative, just “this is our final decision”, whatever the hell that means! Especially after the first person told me it was possible to reset it! I sent you my personal bank details including name & address prove the account belongs to me and then you refuse to help me any further, repeatedly cut me off with “sorry but there’s nothing we can do”, resolve the conversation, and give me no alternatives for how I’m actually supposed to withdraw my money?? The only alternative is to send the money to someone else, which you’re more than happy to do without proving their identity and surely allows scammers to totally capitalise on this flaw in your system! Something feels suuuper fishy about this and I’m really disappointed with the complete lack of engagement considering the amount of time it takes to photograph and upload all of these items I’m apparently never going to see the money for. Appalling.

It’s the Wicked Wild West on Vinted

This review is from the point of view of a Buyer. It is unsafe to shop on Vinted. It is not as protected as EBay, if something goes wrong. That they no longer use PayPal is a sign of this. I bought an item of leather clothing. I asked whether the item was real leather or faux leather. I was assured it was real. When I received it, I could see it was not. The seller agreed to return but charged me for postage to return ( without discussing it first, like I asked). This was my second purchase on the platform. When I queried this with the seller, they agreed to pay, but had option to change their previous option, as per their policies. I asked Support for help, it was not a quick process. They responded the next day stating their policies, but not offering any solutions. I asked them specifically, is there a way for the seller to send a payment to a buyer, can I arranged to be paid off the app? They refused to answer my questions, it was bizarre. All in all, apart from one item that really did live up to expectations, I would never buy on this platform again. The same scenario occurred when a seller sold an item of a different fabric to what was advertised, that was my third purchase. I now wait with a sense of foreboding for the rest of my purchases to arrive. I like sites where I have consumer rights and don’t pay for so called “buyer protection” to be ripped off and left with help. I’ll be deleting this app.

Reviev

great idea to sell and buy clothes, but the application is not perfect in terms of security, 2 situations that I had already caused me to use it less often, and I definitely don't sell it anymore. 1 situation: when I sold stuffed animals in great condition, literally for pennies because my son was saving up for another toy, I didn't receive the money because the "buyer" sent photos that the package was open and someone took out a big teddy bear, after which the buyer got a refund and the teddy bears because he didn't have to send the rest of the teddy bears back (he probably kept the big one too) the package was picked up from the post office, so I don't think there was an open package at the post office, but of course VINTED can't do anything from the outset, I was left in a losing position, I didn't receive the money, so only losses. 2 situation I ordered clothes for a child, but I didn't pick them up from the yodel point, then I get a message parcel received automatic opinion for the seller, aaa great only I didn't pick up the parcel as I wrote to VINTED so of course they can't do anything. Work on this, because people are afraid to order and list things. I can list cheap things but more expensive ones?? why would someone cheat me? Be honest in today's world, you can't.
and please do not write a comment after this "we are sorry to hear that, we hope so, etc. „because it's not true anyway, you are lying and you are not doing anything about it.

Waste of time and money - sellers beware!

This site would be good if it wasn’t for the amount of buyers who cancel items so much and you don’t get the money for items until the buyer is happy with the item AFTER they have received it. Someone brought an item from me, I shipped it the same day and after I shipped it, the buyer cancelled the item and I didn’t get my money for the item because they refused to pay for it after I had already sent the item.. all because they ‘already had the item so no use in them having another’.
There is absolutely zero seller protection and customer service is no help whatsoever, frankly they don’t care. I also got an instant block when listing my first item because I cropped the image so other items weren’t in the background and apparently that meant I was conducting fraudulent activity. No notifications or email to say this had happened until I went to check and couldn’t get into my account anymore. I did eventually get back my account after sending further images to prove I had items and that they were not fraudulent but with no apologies from customer service for their crappy service or explanation to those accusations in the first place.
That and coupled with not actually getting money for items I post, the time and resources it took to post said items, this is a awful excuse of a company. Overall terrible experience with Vinted and will not be using it again!

Mixed feelings

As a buyer, I love Vinted. I’ve bought some amazing items at a really good price. Even though a couple of sellers have failed to send their items on time, I think the times that it has worked have been worth it. Although, my experience as a seller hasn’t been the best. I decided to use Vinted to sell some of my old textbooks. As a seller, you have to select the parcel size for each item. Two of my textbooks were large (under 2kg but over 1kg) and one was medium (under 1kg but over 0.5kg). As soon as these were posted, someone bought the textbooks - which I obviously thought was great. However, the buyer chose to purchase the textbooks as a bundle (something until then I didn’t know was possible). They basically grouped the textbooks together. I had no option to accept or decline this without cancelling the order. The issue with this bundle is that Vinted automatically chooses a parcel size based on the other sizes selected; in my case, they chose large. Yet, altogether the textbooks exceed 2kg (the max weight). I now may not be able to send the textbooks without incurring extra charges for me or the buyer. I messaged Vinted’s support team for advice as soon as the buyer ordered the books. Their automated response informed me that they would reply within 48 hours. It is now over 48 hours and there’s still no reply. I may have to cancel the order which is annoying because I risk receiving a bad review before I’ve even managed to sell anything. :(

good but also bad

Iv been us this app for about 6 months now and iv had mixed opinions. Iv made some mistakes eg. Sending out wrong items to wrong people, obviously this is my fault, however when I contact the buyer they have never been nasty or rude if anything really sweet and understand that mistakes happen. Iv heard people that have had encounters with buyers however iv only ever had good experiences. The app is extremely slow, I think it may be the amount of people on the app, but it’s impossible to use the app unless you are on strong WiFi. Also I think a video section would be good, I don’t think you can send videos, but I think Being able to put a video on and actually show as everyone wants to know what they are actually buying. I think there could be more categories added as I often find myself putting things into categories that they don’t really belong in or just more filter options. E.g in the electronic section, phones as if I just search it it can come up with things it won’t fit, like if I want a iPhone 13 phone case it could come up with a case and someone has written will fit iPhone 13 Pro Max only or won’t fit iPhone 13.

Great app, terrible team.

This app has incredible accessibility and also a wide range of products to choose from. Sellers having no fee to pay is also a utopian feature. However, the way in which the ‘Vinted Team’ handles this is why this review is 2 stars. This comes from a person of 2 years experience on the platform. 1. Bot spam posts
If you were to look up a Stussy item on the Vinted marketplace right now, I would not doubt that a majority of the posts would be bot posts with a Stussy t shirt on them. Each and every last one of these listings are fake, presumably from China. Other brands, such as Maison Margiela and GANNI, are also commonly botted. This makes it a huge pain to navigate through listings, as you have to identify which listings are fake and which are real, something which should not have to be done on the number one ranked shopping app on the App Store. 2. Community Guidelines
Many of the rules you need to follow on Vinted are absolutely stupid. One instance of this would be that if your pictures aren’t of good quality (which could be the slightest camera blur) they can be taken down easily if reported. Secondly, the authentication is very below par, and fakes are extremely common on the platform, and as the Vinted Team clearly don’t have any trained authenticators, it’s currently overrun. Your authentic item could even be taken down and a fake one could stay up. It’s that bad. 3. Support
I cannot stress enough how bad the support is on here. As the team ranges over many countries and the volume of reports and appeal requests is so high, you are more than likely not to be dealt with well. Overall, it’s sub par.

Works well most of the time!

I have used this app for nearly 2 years and it works well when all goes well. But… there are issues that can occur with Vinted that don’t always work out in your favour. For example I have listed a few household items that don’t necessarily fit into one of Vinted’s brackets so I have had to upload them in a category that is similar. Vinted then delete the item and say it’s against the rules, when other people sell the same items and manage to keep there items listed. I’m not talking about anything dodgy. One example I had was a Pyrex dish!
Also, if you sell household items such as plates they make you choose a delivery option based on weight and the lowest is 5kg. So if someone wants to buy a small dish, the minimum delivery they would pay can be £4+. Obviously that puts buyers off if you’re selling a dish for £1! And if a parcel is damaged in transit you can sometimes be the person to lose that sale as most people don’t want to return a broken item if they have to pay for the return delivery. That means you have to refund them yourself and lose the sale money. When every sale has a protection fee applied I think Vinted should be refunding damaged parcels, not the seller!
Generally the app is good and the concept is great. You can sell clothes easily and buying clothes or soft items comes with much less risk of damage in transit. I like that it makes buying second hand easier, and less waste is produced.

Worst App For Sellers

Vinted’s automated system will remove your listings at random (even if they’ve been listed for months already) - claiming they’re against their regulations but when you ask what’s wrong with the listing because the description or pictures aren’t against their regulations at all - you get what seems to be ai generated / bot responses that are not helpful. They will close your appeal without letting you respond and they’ve made the app purposely difficult for you to message any support on there. Even if you can get through to the support no one will be able to actually tell you what’s wrong with the listing but they also won’t admit they’re wrong or reinstate your listing even if you can prove it’s not against guidelines. Feels like an actual fight just to list items sometimes because if the system automatically decides it doesn’t like your listing your two options are to try and go back and forth with the unhelpful and useless Vinted support or play a game of trying to delete one word at a time in your listing to see what it is that’s triggering the app to hide your listing - both options are frustrating and unnecessarily time consuming. You just have to pray that you don’t have any issues with crappy buyers too because Vinted will always be on the side of who’s paying the fees aka the buyers so if you have any issues prepare to be out of pocket. I’ve had no such issues on Depop and hope now they’ve swapped to free fees that people will migrate back over to that app so I can be done with Vinted.

Mostly great!

I love the fact that selling is free and you don’t need to pay for shipping or fees as a seller. It’s also really easy to list stuff and some of my stuff sold fast.
The only issue I’ve had is the lack of guidance/clarity regarding postage and whether you can get a digital label or not for each shipping option. I assumed I could get a digital label for any method and then found that I’d sold something and could only get a printable label. I don’t have a printer and I don’t live or work near one I can freely use, I ended up having to use a printing service near work which cost me £1 so I made barely any profit on the item.
I turned to Reddit for help and it turns out if the buyer chooses home delivery, the only option is a printable label. So I have switched it to locker pick up only but I wish I had known that sooner and saved myself the panic and bother. I heard you also can’t change it to a digital label if you accidentally get a printable one which is also annoying. I don’t know many people who own printers in this day and age so I think there could be more guidance for those of us who don’t.
I know it’s a learning process and the mistake was mine, but it’s just an idea for improvement. Otherwise, brilliant app

Good concept but….

….few things would be nice to make better. Notifications- too many content so often not even enough time to read as they disappear from my screen. Notifications should be short and short glance should give you straight away info what event occurred. Other thing - all notifications, doesn’t matter if item sold, item added to favourites etc etc generating exactly the same sound. Why??? Would be good if for example “item sold” sound could be different - so you don’t even need to take phone to your hand to know something was sold from my items. Like on ebay. Other stuff. Why all items sold and bought ate in the same place?? It should be separate so you can tracing easily items posted to you and the one you sent to customers. Now everything is mixed up. Another thing. When having money on my vinted account from sold items and buying something this money are consumed first then difference going from my card - would be nice to being able to decide if I wanna use money from vinted account or pay in full by card/apple pay. Another thing - all notifications, messages coming with massive delay. Is hard to keep up what’s what. Or accidentally I hidden item then unhidden and item is still shown as hidden… Like your system not keeping up with user commands. And many many other small things which making app not very user friendly.

Infuriating

At first I thought this was a great app the way it doesn’t charge you to use it and the ease of listing. However, it has so many fundamental issues. The first one is when I sent an item the receiver did not pick it up so it was automatically sent back to me. The buyer was refunded and my item was sent back to me. However, it was never sent back to me and Vinted did not bother to look into it any further then tell me it was delivered. I lost out on money through this.
The other major issue is every time I’ve edited an advert in regards to the price, to reduce it, my item has become hidden and I’ve been threatened with a violation, authenticity is being checked every single time I change the price even though photos and the product hasn’t changed, and now I have just got another one to say my item is hidden because the photo quality is too low or too dark. There is literally nothing wrong with the high definition photos which are well lit and crystal clear, you can zoom in on the fires of the bag if you so wish. I’m getting really fed up with this app constantly sending automated messages saying their automatic detection system find a problem. Find humans before you insult people who are using your app, find those humans and get them to actually look at the advert rather than just constantly criticise on suspicion.

Help support will help you to feel like you’re insane

I cannot buy half of the items on Vinted, I noticed I can only buy from sellers that support Royal Mail and have no other delivery options when buying myself, although I enabled all possible delivery services. I have to ask for very seller who I cannot buy the item I want to enable Royal Mail. Some of them agree, some don’t as it’s not convenient to everyone. I tried to contact Vinted support team and got nothing but my frustrations. All they ask to do is to enable all possible delivery options. On my response that the sellers and I have plenty options enabled apart of Royal Mail, they replied it’s because those providers don’t deliver to my destination. I don’t live on the moon and I use Evri, Yodel and DPD at least once a month. On that my response the “help support” worker offered to find another item. Honestly, it’s a joke, unfortunately not funny one for me, but seems that help support having fun. Every day new person replies to the issue, not bothering to read my replies, asking AGAIN for screenshots and to make sure we enabled at least one matching delivery provider.
Feedbacks don’t work as I left plenty and got no one reply. On Trustpilot no one replies to thousands of bad reviews. I’m not sure who are the creators of Vinted, but they should realise that with the service like this the company going to crash rather sooner than later and will be replaced with another one that actually supports customers.

Good app but TERRIBLE customer service and seller protection

I have used this app for a long time, I have never had any issues up until I had to contact the customer support team who were absolutely useless in helping me resolve my issue.
I packaged up a fragile item according to the company guidelines using bubble wrap and cardboard but unfortunately once the item had reached my buyer this item had been damaged in transit with the InPost courier. I apologised to the buyer and they raised this with the vinted support team with the reason ‘damaged in transit’ and they agreed I had wrapped the item properly.
The buyer then received her refund and I received a message to say the sale had been cancelled and that I would not receive any compensation as vinted had just made the bold assumption that I had not packaged my item properly. I assured them that I had and I also had proof of the buyer agreeing with this and the vinted support team did not want to know! I went back and fourth for 4 days with the customer support team who just kept telling me I was not entitled to any compensation for my item that was damaged in transit. They finally cut me off and I am now taking this further as I do wonder how many other customers they have failed! It’s such a shame as I am now out of pocket and I enjoy the app but when something goes wrong the seller is not protected. Disgraceful customer service.

Terrible customer service + platform functionality

No existent customer service, you only get to talk to a robot that can’t answer any questions I have been using the app for more than a year and have accumulated more than 300 reviews 5 stars. A few days ago I uploaded an item and Vinted automatically decided it was counterfeit and blocked my account for a whole month and refused to give any explanations. I submitted all the pictures required by the platform to prove it was an authentic item.I contacted them several times and submitted and appeal which was rejected with no explanation. I am a good and regular customer so I am disappointed they treat me like a criminal and refuse to explain why or where the issue is as I have complied with everything they require in the first place. I understand the need for regulation but I see very obvious scam everywhere in Vinted, I am clearly not the problem here and the fact that they cannot distinguish this, is shameful. Thankfully I don’t rely on Vinted sales for my monthly income but other people do so blocking an account and refuse any explanation or dialogue is very frustrating and the wrong behaviour to have with your customers, specially if they are good and you know this by looking at how much they sell/spend or reviews they have in their profile. It’s really not that difficult. Can’t wait for another platform to take over and never have to use them again.

Unfair support system

I had been selling and buying on vinted for almost a couple of years, everything was great and I found the whole app easy and straightforward to use. However I recently uploaded some unused cosmetic items to vinted, and detailed using photos and in the description that they were unused, as I had done with many other cosmetic items I’ve previously sold on there. And one day vinted just temporarily blocked my account for a couple of items they deemed to be violating their rules by claiming the cosmetics were used products. I went along with the ban and once I had access to my account again, they blocked me immediately again only this time indefinitely with the same reason that I’d uploaded used cosmetic items (these were even older items that I’d uploaded months earlier and didn’t appear to be a problem at that time!). It’s really frustrating as they say you can appeal the decision but it’s pointless as they just respond each time with pretty much an automated response saying that you ‘broke the rules’ and can’t use the platform again. Really infuriating as I had lots of items to sell and loved to buy on the platform. Their ‘detection methods’ for used beauty cosmetics and authentication of clothes seems overly sensitive!

Vinted aiding scammer

A empty account bought my £995 Loewe bag, delivery was successful, then the buyer says bag was stolen from the box, only left with dust bag and tissue wrapping and stuffing. He took some blurry photos showing empty box with all wrapping and dust bag, then Vinted cancelled my order instantly, refunded the buyer instantly, without any investigation and notice, I didn’t even know it was cancelled until I saw the order listing, that it has been manually cancelled by Vinted. Why is there no investigation? Why is there no email or any notice? That empty account buyer was obviously a scammer, instantly changing profile photo from a white woman to blank, when I asked for social media for proof of identity of name and person. So that scammer got my bag, got his money back, and Vinted just refunded him within seconds after he filed a dispute, no explanation or investigation. I asked Vinted support why would this happen? The respond I get is all the same bot copy and paste. ‘Sorry you experiencing this, we are working very hard to investigate and will update you shortly’ Investigate? Investigate what? The order already cancelled by Vinted and money is already refunded back to that scammer, and my bag was already gone. What are you investigating? I’m already seeking legal route to file court claim against Vinted. So disgusting, 0 customer support, 100% supporting scammer. And the app is filled with bot account and fake product. Stay away

No customer care

I had Vinted for 8 months and was going great, had so many clothes to sell from my two little children and things that they never had worn, sold over 800 pounds worth of things and in return made Vinted plenty of money, I also bought many things in return and found the concept really good. However, one day my teenage son bought some Pokémon cards online not knowing their fake, and when he received them he was really disappointed, should have known due to how little he paid but since he didn’t know what to do with them I said let me see if I can sell them on Vinted to see if some parent might want them for their little kids to play with. I check out other people that were selling Pokémon cards and found many people that were selling fake cards written in the description, so I thought okay as long as I wrote down their fake and explain it it should be fine as everyone’s doing the same, thought wrong. I was instantly permanently blocked from Vinted. I wrote to them and got nowhere. I just think this was way too harsh, they could have temporarily blocked me as I have never broken a rule before and been a great buyer and seller making them plenty of money in return (had sold over 160 items) however no, no customer loyalty or care, seen it happened to many people for much less obvious things, not happy, there goes many more bags of children’s clothing to the landfill due to their silly rule, Not happy 😡

Fab

I love this app and the concept of Vinted. I’m a bit late to the party having been a loyal eBay user for many years. However Vinted blows eBay out of the water for simplicity and communication. Very easy to post your items for sale…. Just follow the layout and accurately describe your item with clear photographs. Set your price and the app will estimate the size and therefore postage on your item. The seller can use many postage options but it is ultimately the buyers choice. The buyer can offer less for your item but it is easy to decline or counteroffer. Everything is done through the app easily. The seller receives the payment once the buyer has confirmed they have the parcel and it is satisfactory. The app allows you to see where exactly the parcel is and so the seller knows when the parcel has been collected. All fool proof. A rating system is in place, allowing you to leave feedback about buyer and seller. If you are patient and willing to hang on to your items until the sell, you can make a bit of cash. There is also the option to give some of your proceeds to charity. All good. I will continue to use Vinted for things that I think may sell.

Great app 😊

I have only recently started using Vinted, but I absolutely love it. It’s such a great app to sell unused items or buy items cheaper than they would be in the shops. I have so many old clothes that I probably would have just given to a charity shop, but now I can actually make a bit of money out of them! People actually buy things you don’t think they will, so I recommend just uploading everything you can find even if you don’t think it will sell. Lots of people told me that you have to sell things at low prices if you want people to buy them, but that’s not true at all in my opinion. I have sold quite a few items under £10, but I also have brand new items that I have sold for around £50, so it really just depends.
But I do have to say good photos REALLY matter. Find a plain clean-looking background with good lighting, and try hang your clothes on a hanger, or if you have a mannequin (I found an old one in my house) this is a really good way to display clothes on. Also I have seen many items uploaded onto Vinted where there’s only 1 photo, but it’s really important to show all the different angles, close ups, and of course of the label. This will definitely help your item sell.
There is one improvement I think would really make a difference. In your wardrobe, all the items are just in the order you upload them in. But I think it would be so cool if you could arrange your wardrobe, and create groups. (So I could name a group called ‘Dresses’ and then add all my dresses into that group.) I think this would make the wardrobe look so much more organised, and it would also be much easier for people to find certain items. Please consider this!!

Gone downhill. Be ware of tech scammers

Vinted used to be so good when it was something cute started by a group of women but now they’ve become money hungry and kind of lazy. Scammers are finding loopholes around things and Vinted just say well the policy says…. Anyway pls be aware of scammers selling tech products. I was scammed or £64 over AirPods and Vinted didn’t help despite me explaining how it wasn’t my fault. I said this to them-
Your policy is to confirm that the product looks and is as described which works fine for clothes but you as a business chose to start letting people sell tech and very obvious reasons creates problems when using that refund policy. How is anyone supposed to know that some AirPods are fake just because they look real. This is absurd and utterly ridiculous. I’ve used Vinted for years and lately I feel so let down. Thank you for absolutely nothing. What’s worse is we’ve looked and there are so many other scammers on Vinted doing the same thing. Fake AirPods are being sold to people and you don’t care because it’s all about getting your share of the money.
- They just said because you confirmed the order they can’t do anything. I only found out the sorosis were fake when an apple specialist confirmed they were breaking due to the lack of authenticity.

Great when things work, but not if you come across a problem

At this moment, I am in the middle of 2 very stressful situations with couple of orders, which costed me around £60.
In one case I am infuriated by the lack of efficiency and apology from Vinted team and with their automated responses instead trying to be helpful and track my stuff.
My second problematic order is with a dishonest buyer who not only sent a stained outfit which “was all fine when shipping” but also hasn’t disclosed that some parts of of the outfit are different size than others (different sizes on the labels!). He tried to encourage me to either buy keep it and “just” purchase longer trousers in the size I needed, then to accept it as good and resell myself, and now apparently has a problem with requesting return. (Why am I even having to deal with the buyer on a misadvertised item????)
A question to Vinted- what does actual “buyers protection” mean because it feels like one big scam and a farce based on my recent 2 purchases. This is nothing like the support system on EBay I’m afraid. Even though Vinted seems more user friendly than EBay, I am feeling rather exposed in terms of protection rights as a customer. So disappointed:(

good.. for the most part

it’s a great app for buying and selling but i have a few bones to pick. One of my listings got deleted for ‘copyright’ reasons cause i used a singular picture from the website which I bought the item i was selling from. My issue is that i paid to bump the item and vinted refused to give i refund because i ‘violated’ their rules, which i guess is reasonable except for the facts that 1. They don’t make it obvious that you can’t do that and 2. They delete the post STRAIGHT away instead of just a warning to remove the picture or something along those lines before deleting it, which would be much more reasonable and less hassle for sellers. Another thing was, when i reuploaded the product i assumed i could just message the people who favourited the item and tell them it’s back up so i don’t have to pay for the bump anymore, but no. Vinted, instead of just making the sale in the chat delete, makes the ENTIRE chat with the person disappear so i couldn’t even get the names of the people who saved it to tell them they can favourite it again, meaning i had ti spend money on the bump up once again. they don’t cost much but i don’t really earn a lot and i feel that vinted has wasted my money to an extent and it’s just unnecessary.

HATED this app!! RACISTS!

I would like to give this app no star, but there’s not an option for this, anyways. This app a total waste of time if you’re going to sell something. It’s cool for buyers though. After almost a month of not being able to put my payment details and support centre being useless people they are didn’t do a single thing to fix my problem, I decided make another account with another email. As I had an order which haven’t received it yet, couldn’t delete my old account until my order arrives. So gave it a go, created my account, listed my items and when I woke up in the morning 3 of my items was sold so I got excited; but that didn’t take long as the same issue as in my old account (payment issue) kept happening again as I tried to purchase an item. So I put my payment details again and again, app asked for my nationality and when I put it, it was like "oops! Something went wrong!". I contacted costumer service and explained the issue, they recognised me as fraud and asked for identity check. Sent my passports pic, ID, whatever I had but they all got rejected saying "documents are not eligible". Turns out these people are just a bunch of racists. As I put my nationality (Iran) something went wrong and when I changed it to United Kingdom it was accepted! They rejected my documents too for the same reason. Such a pity, such a shame! This app shouldn’t be on AppStore. I’ve deleted my accounts on vinted and removed it from my phone, heading back to Depop. Such a waste of time, just wrote this review for people from my country to stay away from these racists.

Not working

Constant error messages and app freezes/crashes all the time. Today I cannot access my account at all. Something logged me out of the app (not me, every other app on my phone is working fine) when I try to login app freezes. Customer service is… well… computerised? Even if you get through to a real person you get the same messages generated by a computer. Useless if you really need help with something. They can also take money from your balance as they please, refund the buyer without you even knowing. If you buy anything you got 2 days to confirm you received it etc, after that transaction is considered completed (if anything goes wrong after that you on your own, they just tell you to contact police or try to resolve the issue yourself) If you using the app use it carefully. Most popular items on sell are scams 😕 Vinted deletes many of them but not all! Always ask for extra photos of something specific to be sure, or stick to accounts with 10-15 positive reviews at least. Don’t keep money in your Balance, payout regularly, ideally straight after transaction is completed. They have £700-£1000 selling threshold limit, after that they lock your balance (you cannot pay it out) until you pass their ID verification. Then you free to withdraw your balance. Sometimes it takes a while for them to verify you though. There are certainly other more reliable & customer focused places to buy or sell clothes online.

Lovely app but could be better with a few tweaks

The search function could be better, maybe more specific when entering items of clothing. You can choose a brand and size etc all fine
Which is great. One great part is you can favourite an item and it automatically lets you know if the item has sold or reduced in price.
In general the app is great for selling and buying but relies on the seller being honest. Be aware when purchasing items that are ‘not as described’ you will be liable to pay the return shipping fee or it will be deducted from your refund. I had a cardigan that stated it was in very good condition. From the photos it was hard to tell but the expectation is that it would as described. Not so the buttons were worn, there was a stain on it and loose threads, none of which was shown or put in the description so not what I would say as ‘very good condition’ Photos were shown to the seller of the faults who requested the item to be returned. The refund process is very straightforward but I am now out of pocket by the £3 postage fee to return the item which I feel is unfair. The buyer also has to pay for shipping of the item in the first place on top of the item purchased although this is refunded once the seller receives the item back. The seller has not had to pay anything yet tried to sell an item that should have been put under satisfactory not very good. All in all, a good app but in need of tweaks, more protection for buyers as you are relying on honest sellers. I do have to say the other sellers I have dealt with have all been superb although some take a little longer with shipping than others.

Less than 0 stars if I could

The app is difficult to use because of the way it organises your purchases as chats with the seller. It’s very hard to track the status of the purchase or report issues out of this chat.
The help centre sends you in circles.
Vinted is an awful business who charges for buyer protection as a transaction fee without offering any protection. Taking no ownership and refusing to help after 2 days of the purchase, even if the item was counterfeit, is ridiculous and disgusting. Customer service of course based overseas, not understanding the nuances of a question, rude, copy pasting text to me rather than answering my question, then ignoring me especially when I pointed out the T&Cs say Vinted want to receive photos of the fake items but no one asked me, they couldn’t care less. in fact if you carefully check their help centre, they might not even refund for fake items even if you report within that 2 day period.
Protecting scammers and sellers of counterfeit goods to the detriment of buyers is a bad business model which will fall apart soon enough, it shows Vinted is only in for some quick money out of unsuspecting buyers. Never thought I’d say this, but eBay is much better, doesn’t charge me for buyer protection yet they always protected me if the seller misrepresented the product. Fake items are still fake even past the Vinted 2 day rule, eBay accepts fake if fake and refunds you

Takes too long to receive money

It’s a ok app to make some money on, and sold a few items but they need to speed up the process for the seller to actually receive their money. Think I would rather have to deal with getting messed about a bit on FB marketplace, as at least i get the cash instantly. I understand Vinted have to protect the buyer but it’s ridiculous how long it takes. Once a item is sent the seller has to rely on the buyer to mark as received and tbh some of the buyers are not very responsive and so you spend your time messaging the buyer to mark as received. Vinted does say if the buyer doesn’t mark as received then your pending balance will become available after a certain time but the timeframe is so long, for instance sold something last week and if the buyer doesn’t respond and mark as received, Vinted won’t release your money till like 3/4 weeks later. Luckily I have never had to wait that long but I would say 9/10 of the sales I do i have to keep messaging the buyer to mark as received which sometimes takes a few days. Then when your funds do become available to transfer this needs to be made instantly as it still takes like up to 5 working days for your money to clear into your bank. Sorry but we are living in a world where we can send money instantly now so I don’t understand why this takes so long. For example i transferred some money last week and still now to this day 3 working days later it still hasn’t cleared.

App not refined - yet

I never write reviews but have come out of my way to write this. As there was a poll on the app if you would recommend the app - but it wouldn’t actually allow me to share feedback.
I was a fan if you want to grab yourself a bargain I’m your in the right place. If you want to sell things you can and will easily but don’t think your going to make lots of money for anything this app has created a bunch of people who don’t want to pay for things. By the time you have bought the product, postage and the buyer protection fee people arnt willing to spend much for anything. the app itself is ‘clunky’ to use almost like so so w had a great idea but rushed it prior to bring it out. Searching for something your after isn’t easy. when selling an item if you type a description the curser jumps mid sentence, you cannot edit photos for a selling site this is crazy. rules on what you can and cannot sell are non consistent.
I was somehow able to sell something that your not supposed to sell on Vinted snd it wasn’t picked up prior to the sale. what kind of processes are in place for this to happen?.
the rules are not specific enough. when items are deleted you are not given a reason why therefore you may make the same mistake again. getting in contact with someone to try and get an answer is difficult.

Amazing!!!

Absolutely LOVE vinted.
As someone who used other second hand selling apps for years and came across many problems, Vinted is absolutely perfect in every way. The app makes money through buyer fees, not seller fees, which makes a lot more sense to me than retracting money from the seller, and it also makes money with ‘bumps’ which you spend 95p on to bump your item to the top. The transactions are smooth and brilliant, I haven’t come across a single bad thing at all.
The app also leaves no room for scams - the seller has to have postage proof before any money is taken from the buyer, so vinted holds the money until it’s been marked as sent and received. You can still receive your money a few weeks after it’s been sent if the buyer never marks it as received. Which I find great as I have tried to buy from sellers on other apps before and never had the item sent to me and it was a really long process getting a refund.
The only issue I once had was that someone bought something and I was away from home and couldn’t post it, without knowing there was a 5 day timespan to post it, and the buyer was refunded. But now I know that for future, AND the app gives you an option to pause your account when you go on holiday etc, I can safely say it’s a mistake I won’t make again.
Overall it’s just great and is super quick and easy. I have made over £200 in the past four months just selling bits and pieces of my things that were too nice to give to charity. It’s quick and smooth and easy and overall very easy to understand and use.

Big let down

I was a loyal customer before they seemed to get noticed that use them for awhile and it was good open till they Struggle to keep track of all the customers they have lost in total eight of my parcels and currently six of them have been lost they have told me it’s my fault for not dropping them which are all automatic responses it takes days for any customer contact and parcels out there which I have never received the money for I have customers that are upset and I’m even more upset for losing all the money. they have blocked my account on a few occasions with automatic responses I have no reasoning with them and it’s just constant Robot talking back to me. they held nearly £300 worth of my money and would not let me have access to it so overall the idea of the selling platform is great but when it comes to vinted customer support or help it’s just lots of robots replying and nobody actually seeing that people use this platform as some form of income very disappointed with Vinted for holding all this money of mine which was actually going to cover a lot of my bills this month I was very proud that I managed to make this amount of money selling my own stuff and vintage have really let me down after years of loyalty . this is not just one angry customer of one thing going wrong this is years of things building up on top and the customer support is just getting worse and worse I can’t actually believe they won’t let me draw my own money from my account I’m pretty sure that’s illegal I obviously will be taking this further as I desperately need to get this money back from Vinted. Disappointed

Amazing app apart from one thing!

Absolutely love vinted, love the idea that the buyers pay the fee and not us sellers because why would we want to pay a fee, we don’t want the items! so that’s great. I also love that it asks the buyer to leave feedback to the seller and also the many options we have for when we buy clothes and choose the delivery service. It means that I have more people willing to buy my items because the postage can be as little as £1.99!
Just one thing I don’t like about it is that you do not have the option of not allowing any returns. You have to allow refunds and returns and this is very scary because someone can buy a piece of designer clothing from you and then decide to return it with a fake! Obviously the Vinted team talks to you before you go through the refund and they check if it is necessary, but the buyer could have many tricks in place such as pretending the item was faulty or had stains on it when it didn’t and at that point you would be forced to accept the return and you might be given a fake as a return if that makes sense! As a result, I’ve been quite reluctant in uploading expensive designer items and have instead put them on my depop because on there you do have the option of not allowing any returns from the buyer.
Overall, very happy! I’ve sold so many items on Vinted which is very satisfying and I can get rid of so many unwanted clothes!

Don’t waste your time it’s a scam!

Would give 0 stars if it was an option. Used to love this app, it was great for sorting through the kids old clothes and making some money back. I was selling their old clothes on Vinted and then using that money to buy them more clothes on Vinted. However, one morning I woke up to an email from Vinted saying they had permanently blocked my account, claiming that I was using it for commercial sales. I clearly was not! All of the items I was trying to sell were items we had no use for any longer or were unwanted gifts. Through reading the other reviews it seems that I am not the only one that this has happened to.
I have tried appealing to Vinted, but I get a different person each time, none of which have any idea what the last person was speaking to me about. After messaging several times I am now being ignored by customer service!
Absolutely appalled and shocked at how awful Vinted deal with things. Upon reading their guidelines, I should have been given a warning before hand and told which items went against their policies, which I did not get. Vinted have violated their own policies in several aspects with how they have treated me!
Seems that once you have sold a few items and made more money than Vinted want you to, they block your account and accuse you of using it commercially!!
I could go on and on forever about all their flaws, and why not to bother!

Really good concept!

The concept behind Vinted is really unique and works well most of the time, it relies on both the buyer and the seller updating the app in various stages in terms of updating the dispatch of the sold item and the buyer confirming when the item arrives with them. There are a few different courier types that are automatically assigned when selling, which include Hermes and Royal Mail. All of which have QR codes on the pre paid postage labels which when scanned at the destination update the app as to when the sold item has been dispatched and arrived. Meanwhile any money paid to the seller for the item is kept in holding as a pending balance until the buyer receives the item and confirms everything is ok, which can cause some problems when dealing with inactive or argumentative buyers. Then the money is released to the seller and they can transfer it to their own personal bank account. The app has a great platform to sell items to make money and relying all stages of the buying and selling process are checked off it can work really well. I have had an item lost by couriers and also returned by a courier before allowing the customer the 10 days allocated collection time which can cause problems, and as much as Vinted is safe and offers the checklist format to ensure both buyer and seller are protected it does rely on multiple party’s to ensure the process is successful which can go wrong.
