Easy to use but buggy

Crashes a lot on my iPad, unfortunately. No save function, only export, would love a save button for an app that crashes so frequently to give me that extra security that I won’t lose my work. Also, even though I upgraded to Pro, I can’t see an option to add more layers. Otherwise this is a great little app for diving straight in to simple animation.

I found a bug. (Great app btw)

This bug is harmless and doesn’t happen on accident but- you can zoom in on your picture infinitely and soon enough the screen appears to be bouncing around the canvas rotating at light speed.

Over all this is not the greatest explanation and the bug is completely harmless and only happens if you zoom in a lot farther than you would need.

Very good value

I bought Flip Book for my Mac, but had to update the operating system - which means I have to wait for an update to start using it again. I contacted the developer and they suggested trying this in the meantime. I’m a first timer and making simple animations for teaching - and this does (almost) everything I need it to do. It’s very clearly laid out and with a bit of experimentation easy to navigate. For the price, it’s amazing!

Needs a bit of improvement

Already, it doesn’t have loads of ads, which is great! But there isn’t a great choice of brushes ( or at least I can’t find them ) and it costs money to buy more layers, which I think shouldn’t be paid for. But overall, a very good animation program. I like it. ( Just please remove the bugs )

Great app

Great app I really feel bad about all the hate this app gets the upgrades only 2 dollars people I recommend FlipaClip more but this is a really good app when I’m just playing around with animation it’s so simple and great for beginners the tutorial looks really complicated but reality it’s really great app keep making updates

I downloaded this app hoping I could make a good animation then I opened the app and made a scene but I used the bucket tool and all of my traces of animation were removed so I could no longer get the right pictures thanks for the great game hope you get great reviews I’m never using this again TRASH

Crashing and freezing

Amazing app! It’s simple and the pen setting is great to draw with. But it constantly crashes I am in a cycle of deleting then re-downloading it just so I can draw I have sadly lost a lot of animations due to this problem

Cannot access files

After coming back to the app after a while, I have found I am complexly unable to open any files at all. Don’t know if this has anything to do with the operating system, but I would love to be able to watch some of my first ever animations again.

This app is awesome. I can create my own cartoon without any hassle. (Sort of.) The only reason why I rated this app 4 stars is because you have to pay to have more than 100 frames. It might seem like a lot to you ,but 100 frame= about 10 seconds!

Complications...

I opened this app wanting to make animations, however the placements are very odd and the tutorial is hard to follow, I failed just to make the first scene because of how complex the placements and the flexibility of the app is short I deleted the app immediately and downloaded flipaclip which is a far greater app and I would not recommend the app you are looking to download go get flipaclip

Useless with Apple Pencil

While the menu options seem appealing and useful, the app won't register half of pencil inputs.

It's very frustrating to not have every stroke registered when you block out a shot.

I couldn't get past the first frame.

Shouldn't have payed for this.

My Apple Pencil works great in every other Drawing/animation app.

Was good up to a point

I was ready to give this app 4 stars for how well things seemed to be going, disputed a few minor complaints.

However now the app refuses to work, no animations will load for me to continue working, I cannot even create an entirely new animation.

Like I also mentioned with minor complaints, the interface can be slow to respond and sometimes it does not register a command.

Needless to say I am livid because of this, I have poured many hours of work into this only to lose it all.

I cannot recommend this app in its current state, the slowness of the app, combined with its inability to function at all, just is not worth the annoyance. But I do want to see this app fixed, as it does serve well when it does decide to work, so please fix this.

Please do more bug fixes!!

I use it on iPad and it sometimes crashes and deletes what i was working on. This is very frustrating and annoying- working on something for hours only to have half of it deleted. The app also “crashes”(?) while saving, exiting to the home screen.

This is a great app for 2d animation but it is frustrating. I want to use it for my school project, but if if continues to delete half of the stuff i work on halfway through i don’t know what i should do.

I’ve just spent over 5 hours animating (&paid for the premium) and now the app wont let me view it my work at all. FIX YOUR APP!!

Erm....

There is just an update I get this to 5 stars! For the drawing part, it’s dark and light and changes colour when I use it, I don’t know if something is there to make it SOLID, and yes, I’m using the ‘SOLID’ drawing bit.

Very good

Great if you're looking for a quick and easy 2 animation. I am a 2D animator that uses the old school onion skinning method which this app provides. Still a few tweaks needed like more brush options would be great for inking the scenes with and perfect from creating anime or simple cartoons with if you're not fussy about how it looks and feels. Considering this is a tablet app it's great however it won't be replacing my computer yet!

Could be good...

This app is great for a complete novice like me however it is sluggish and crashes frequently. I can’t see an obvious option to save work so after each crash when I reload I have lost a lot of frames. What irks me is that I just paid the (ok not a lot) premium to have extra features. I am not a great drawer or animator but I was finding it fun and relaxing to create little films to send to people but this is just annoying.

I downloaded the free version. I paid for the upgraded version. I wasted a long time animating a scene. The whole programme froze and deleted everything I’d done. I started again. I wasted an hour animating. It froze and deleted again. All in that order. Furious.

It’s hard to navigate and when I try to zoom out I just draw a line. I can’t see any button I can use to play my animation so FlipaClip will still be my first option.

Great!

It's so great words cannot explain - it's very smooth but at the same time not complicated. There are a few problems here and there, a bit glitchy when you try to move and frustrating when you zoom in and out, but I am on the iPhone SE and can't wait to try it on my cousins ipad. Too buggy

I love the pc version. It's amazing. But the iPad version is way too buggy. It has crashed about 4 times in just half an hour. The light box does not work. I cannot see previous drawings and the background picture I set just keeps fading out the further I go along. Unfortunately it's unusable for me at the moment.

Loses slides

When you take your pen off light box it turns light box off. It loses scenes when the iPad locks, name animation or switch apps. Shame as what's on offer would be great. It would also be fun to be able to record audio when playing back, having said that this is too buggy so I will stop using it

Please fix, could be great app

Great potential this app, but a bit too buggy so can get frustrating, especially when paid for. The frames disappear sometimes when you select them and you have to redraw, not cool. It crashes... not great. You should be able to save and also because so buggy please add an option to duplicate scenes. Is there any hope for an upgrade soon?

Done right

The overall idea and workflow is great. It still have bugs, but it is the only animation software that actually have a goodmworkflow. I recommend it if you can stand the bugs.

Had a quick go on the free version and it's quite basic and a bit buggy (fill is broken ) but didn't crash ( using on iPad Pro 128gig)

Managed to do a short anim and it's free , can't complain too much.

Would I upgrade ? .... Depends if I play on it again and use it regularly

Worked nicely with pencil , lines are pressure sensitive.

😡CRASHING ALL THE TIME

Whenever I'm do an animation trying to zoom in on the sketch, half way through it Crashes and so I lose the animation....

Hopefully you will fix this because this app has got some good ideas🙂
