So poor

Games rarely actually start as the hosts seem to lose interest and when they do they freeze or crash.
Routes and pins are pretty but hard to make out and lack of a rating system makes all games underwhelming and pretty pointless.
‘New’ features are promised but the return of the basic ones we had before can’t come too soon.
Bizarre to launch with so many bugs and half the expected game missing.

Bugged and Game Freezes

Purchased the additional £29.99 bundle but when playing the Europe map the games get so far and then freeze. Refunded and just bought the additional map instead for £7.99 but that brings the same results. Not worth buying as you just need to get refunded.

A good launch with potential

This app has a tough act to follow, as the original version worked well and had a large variety of expansions. But they stopped updating it a while ago and it was starting to get buggy. So here we all are, having to buy the new version and all the expansions another time. The first two base maps (America and Europe) play well and, based on the rules, it looks like Nordic Countries will be up next. The gameplay is fluid, keeping player turn speedy, with some neat graphic additions. The feel of the game remains the same, and it hasn’t been tinkered with too much. However, part of the joy of Ticket to Ride (board game and original app) is the end of game reveal. In the previous version, it would dramatically which routes had been completed and thus tot up the scores. The players could then review and chat about their routes, problems, etc. In this version, it’s so speedy that it’s impossible to pay attention to how the game went. Its then not possible to return to the map to see connected routes. This is such a sad end to the game, as the reveal is one of the reasons Ticket to Ride is so well-reviewed and loved. Finally, if I could request one change in future updates, it would be the colours used in the maps. The artwork is beautiful, with accurately represented mountains and plains, but it’s very difficult to see the pins, or if you’re playing as green your trains can get lost amongst the background. In terms of accessibility, it would be great to be able to switch the background artwork to something more subdued. So, 3/5, with the hope they develop this game into something better.

Good game but…

Sometimes I’m thrown back to the app menu during an online game and even after everyone has signalled that they’re ready to start an online game, the host most likely won’t start it even after 2 minutes (feels like 10!)! Can you please fix things so the app doesn’t close mid-online game and online games are more likely to start in the first place? Thanks

Full of bugs

What a disappointment…. Paid £35 for this as we are avid fans of the board game and the previous version. Keeps crashing, particularly on multiplayer, just hangs. Very disappointing
It’s not like we have played for hours and found slight issues, literally every time we try to play multiplayer, and even one game in 5 single player games crash…. Lets hope these are fixed soon. Not impressed so far

No chat is bad, no rankings / ratings / progression is worse 😡

The removal of any form of chat, after the gradual failure of the chat function on the original version of the game is probably not surprising, but definitely disappointing.
Worse, this new version has also no implementation of any player rankings or ratings, removing the pull and longevity of the game (at least for me). The UI is also fiddly, train placement especially.
I want to know how good the players are I’m playing and see my in-game progression. Playing random game instances gets boring quickly.
Disappointing waste of £4.99, and with no developer road map other than a £30 in-app purchase for 10 expansion packs (only 1 of which is released) - I’m not sure I’ll be back.

It is amazing

I’ve been waiting awhile for this to come out, and I am very very happy with it. I’m not sure what the other two reviews are saying, but I feel like the board when you play in person is intricate and therefore the game is rightly intricate. The only disadvantage I think there is is you have to pay an additional £4.99 in order to have the European version on top of the American version which is included in the first purchase.

What have they done?

I am heartbroken. I have spent years using ticket to ride to de-stress and now it’s been ruined. I loved the game just as it was and so did so many others. Now there are no ratings, so it’s pointless, it takes ages to play, there is no reward for most routes. The game was perfect. Why ruin it? Clearly it’s been redesigned to look pretty but without any understanding of the game. Please restore it to its former glory.

Large step backwards

Wish I hadn’t purchased this. Forced to create a Bubble account to enable certain features such as multiplayer. Nowhere to claim the supposed free map if you owned previous version. I could go on, but honestly, it’s already been deleted. I never normally leave reviews, and do not feel the need to type more negative comments, but I have many..

Bring back the old version.

Unfortunately, this new edition of TTR is vastly inferior to its predecessor.
There is such a lack of features comparatively, this new version feels rushed and incomplete. Less customisation for the games and no online ranking system are amongst the plethora of the missing features. This game even manages to surpass the older version in terms of the amount of bugs and crashes.
The newer and updated graphics are welcome, and I hold out hope that much needed updates will come thick and fast. However in its current state, the void of features and overall character will disappoint fans of the previous game, I’m sure.
Sometimes new isn’t better.

Day 1. Hoping

There are so many glitches at 1st release. Let’s hope this gets sorted soon. Tried to play a game with a friend. Unable to pick tickets or even see the cards. All I got was a map and then nothing. I’ll wait and see

Don’t buy until they have fixed bugs

Not an improvement on the old game, very hard to see the board or lay trains. But I ran out of trains and the game kept going! And there is no way to see who wins or what the score is when you quit. Obviously zero bug testing before release
