Absolutely love that this game continues to be updated and continues to work on the latest devices.
It’s truly wonderful when games can be enjoyed decades later by new generations of gamers.
I do however have a couple of wishes for this game on iOS.
Top of the list has to be controller support and I’m really surprised that it’s still not yet been implemented despite the API being built into iOS so most of the work is already done.
2nd to that I’d love to see the frame rate unlocked for the latest and more powerful devices. There’s no reason this game shouldn’t be able to run at 60 fps second or 120 fps on the latest devices with pro motion displays.
But other than those two requests and desires, this is a wonderful game, a brilliant platform and one every platform game fun should enjoy.

This game really needs to start supporting MFI and Xbox/PlayStation controllers. It’s not that hard to add and would make the game so much better.
Also, considering the M1 iPad has a more powerful GPU than a PS4, it’s probably time to turn the extra details back on, as this game originally came out on the 360.

I bought this game today for my four year old. He was asking for the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse game, and this was the only Disney game I could find. It was so difficult that neither he nor I could get past the first few steps. He can manage complex games like Minecraft, so competence isn’t the issue. Please make an easy mode, or at least do some usability testing with your target audience. The hour-long tantrum that resulted from the difficulty of this game has soured our day.

Anybody remember 2009’s games like this? Well I don’t cause I wasn’t born yet- uhh. That’s not the point. This was a game I feel as if I remember even when I had no Idea it existed. It has that nostalgic feeling doesn’t it- the boss fights, Mickey and the occasional secret, in the map. It’s a great game overall but a teensy bit tricky for some younger players.

Was a great game back on the first iPhone I got 3GS I think but hasn’t worked on the last few iPhones 5s upwards (had all of them) and a good few different iPads. It loads to the main screen after the usual company logo credits and when you ‘touch to start’ from main screen it crashes. Has done through all the last iOS versions and don’t know how it has not been fixed all this time.

Good app except when you die, mickey can’t move for a couple of seconds so when on a boss level like the jack-in-a-box you lose all of tour lives and end up having to start over. It can be very frustrating!

Got this game when it first arrived on the App Store, it's a truly amazing game especially if you liked the original. However, after updating my ipad4 to iOS 10 last year, the game lost its music. It still has sound effects and narration, just no game music. 5 stars down to 2 for this as I feel the music is a big part of enjoying this game ... The game also disappeared from App Store so i couldn't check reviews to see if anyone else had this problem and I figured, one day there maybe an update to fix this issue ... needless to say I was quite excited to see the return of this game to App Store along with an update. Immediately updated but still have the same issue,, I'm still on iOS 10 and this game works fine on all my other devices (4s, 5s, 6s, and iPad mini ) just not my iPad 4 ... sad times for a fan of retro platformers 🙁

Unfortunately I can't tell you what this game is like as it just crashes and closes itself every time I try to play it. I have tried deleting and reloading it but the same thing happens every time. It infuriates me when you pay good money for a game you can't even play.......if you bought something in a shop that didn't work you'd take it back and get a refund so please either fix this issue or give me my money back!!!

Picked up for 69p and playing on an iPad 3 with no problems. As it's touch screen, can be quite tricky with the accuracy, but with the many auto-save locations and relatively small levels hasn't proved too much of a problem. Animations and sound have been done nicely by Disney. The bottom line is its fun.
All the people who rate 1 star with issues who don't say what device they are using shouldn't leave reviews.

It's nice to play a game that features Mickey Mouse and isn't something you would expect a child to play. I love playing it, possibly the best game on the App Store by far!
The voice over when the man talks is a nice bonus to the app. I don't see why anybody would have problems with this unless you're using an old Apple product. I'd recommend it if you've got the space on your phone to download it.
Truly an outstanding game, makes me smile every time I play it. Suited for all age groups apart from babies. (That's obvious anyway)
The only problem I have with it is the amount of space it takes up on your phone.

Been looking at this for a while but was reluctant to pay full price (even though as I hate in app purchasing I should be willing to pay for good apps). I got it at temporary reduction to 10% of the price and may well be the best 69p I have spent all week. The controls do take a little getting used to but they work once you know them.
Overall the game is a beautifully presented adaptation of a classic of my youth. Only thing that is bothering me a little so far is that there is a large gap between auto save moments so it can be frustrating to die, spend 3 or 4 mins getting back to the same place and die again and so on, though I do seem to remember that being a feature of the original also.

This game is fantastic. It seems like it was made for portable gaming devices.
The graphics and music are fantastic even the cutscenes are fantastic everything is great about the game but the controllers not so much this game is crying for controller support. The make this game a must buy it needs controller support. It is still good and the story good enough to allow you to carry on playing. But the oncoming trickier levels will make the touch controls useless.
Therefore you need to make a decision or promise that will help you complete this game. Or become a pro player.

I had ipad 2 and this game is not compatible. I have now upgraded to ipad air and I soon purchased this title and what I got was a game that is so close to the console network version I showed a prev gen console owner who had the network version and agreed the gap is narrowing on mobile to console gaming. This is a great work on the developers part. I heard rumour sega Australia has closed since this game was completed.

Lovely graphics on the iPad and magical looking but the game is really really hard and the controls quite tricky, three hours later and still couldn't get past level one to the first save point now all the way back at the beginning! :-( I doubt my nine year old cousin could do it if my partner and I are having trouble.

This is a good game apart from one thing. The controls on the left of the screen move around and because of that Mickey Mouse is difficult to control. Especially when Mickey's running from a big apple. To developers, please could the controls be stationary like they are on the Sonic The Hedgehog games.

Fantastic. This is a class app. Production values are very good. Probably one of the nicest looking games I've seen on iOS.
Music is first rate. I love it !
Ok so it might not have 30 hours of game play but I'm crap at platform games so I'm going to get my money's worth !
It really is a blast from the past and a step back into that magical time when gaming was relatively fresh, new and well magical !
We'll done and more like this please.

Never played the original but I decided to get this and give it a bash. It is an amazing game graphics are fantastic very smooth. Get it if your looking for a good game for the ipad or iPhone..

This is an amazing game, great graphics. But for 6.99 I don't think there are enough levels, I bought this game yesterday and it's been less than 24 hours and I have already came to the end of the game, I definitely think there should have been more levels, and more worlds, in this game which would have made it a lot better and worth the price, but very disappointed that there are only about 12 games to play.. All in great game but very disappointed.

Can't believe how awesome this game is, beautiful graphics, storyline and colourful characters make this a welcome return to the tablet genre...controls beautifully and not overly difficult makes this a playable gem....now sega.....please tell me your gonna do world of illusion next.....Terrific game .....buy it now!!!

Wonderful conversion of a terrific game

The XBLA version was already a brilliant reimagining of a platforming classic. But this iOS conversion is so close, it’s incredible. Lacking only the glass distortion effects, everything else is intact on my iPhone 5. And the control has no input lag - something some criticised in the original version because they didn’t have their TVs set to Game Mode. No chance of that here. This version is pin-sharp, switches between 2D and 3D planes seamlessly and features one of the best final levels and bosses I’ve seen in ages. Oh, and to the guy before me who couldn’t jump past the third obstacle, I have no idea what you’re talking about. Hold the button longer? Use the platforms to the left to get the height? It isn’t that difficult really! Brilliant game, really enjoyed playing it through a second time.

Wonderful reimagining of a classic

The original Castle was one of my most cherished childhood games and part of the reason I became a game audio designer.
This reimagining is beautiful with tight controls and well balanced game play. The challenges also offer replay ability.
Fans of the original will love it, but newcomers will appreciate the amazing graphics, and sound and playability. Disney fans will dig the charm and atmosphere.
My only disappointment is the original emulation (which came as a freebie for PS3 pre-orders) was not included in this version. And seeing as Sega's name is not on this version I guess it'll never see the light of day.

Sega and Disney together again!

I think I last played this when I was 7/8. I'm now 29 and yes, I'm an adult that owns a house, has a job and pays a bills, but this beings me right back to being that 7 year old! I would flip between playing this, Sonic and my Skaletrics - off out now to buy some track!
To the reviewer who said this is such a five year olds game - I do wonder what you were expecting when you paid six quid for a Mickey Mouse game!

I loved this game on the sega game gear. I am giving this 5 stars as it's a great idea and a great twist on a classic. I want to love it but am stuck on act 2. Can any one help. I can't get any further than the clouds. What am I missing. I have paid for this and can't get any further.

I had this game on my sega mega drive years ago and it was always one of my favourites and recently played the the newly updated version demo version on my ps3 and loved what they had done to it. It still had the charm of the original but with beautiful graphics and lots of amazing improvements and then I saw this in the App Store and became curious at what it would be like. At £6.99 I thought it must be worth a go as Im now a firm believer that mobile gaming is the future and was blown away as this was every bit as good as the ps3 version but found the controls actually better on my iphone. This game is a must for anyone who played the original or a first time player. You'll love it. It's like playing a cartoon and will have you wanting to get just that little bit further. Games like this don't come around all the time so don't miss it. Highly. Recommended :)
