Installation nightmare
This feels like an app design to a spec, but then not tested in the field. A nightmare to install. Probably because the coders want repeat work to fix it.

Not Easy To Use
Sat in the bar on The Village wifi.
Can’t register for the app. Problem. Tried three times and binned it. Not very user friendly.

Ridiculous that you have download app to get the benefits. Even worse when the staff don’t know what the rewards are and give you incorrect items and then blame you.

Pointless Literally
This app started off with a points system which would fail to add points and I still haven’t been awarded dozens despite asking. As of 20 January 2025 they’ve (Village Rewards) have given up on the points system, removing any incentive to actually spend money at the hotels, rendering the app totally useless, other than a 5% saving on food and drink, which is nothing these days. When taking into consideration. The price and quality of the food this app is a busted flush.

Why do I need an app to get £1 off a pint?!
I don’t understand why there is no other option than downloading an app, like showing membership card etc? Or why this isn’t part of the gym app? So stupid that we can’t use the app to get into the gym (need a card), but can’t use that card to get the discount at the pub? No body cares about the other discounts or earning stupid points!

Absolutely demented. Relied on a phone number on my account from years ago. Was the same number as my wife’s, wouldn’t accept a new number. Went through rigmarole of installing then the code didn’t work anyway.

Staff are great and will honour the discount, but doesn’t seem to work with till all the time. First time worked but not since. Get the discount but not the points.

Who on earth works on Village apps?!
The gym app is pretty poor and could do with adding some useful features - as for this rewards app, shocking. It’s obviously never been tested before release. Often won’t open, laggy generally not great. Get the basics right before launching - 21st century customer engagement 101.

Rather than queue up at my local Village Pub & Grill I ordered via the Village Hotel app to have delivery to my table but I can’t see it being recorded on the REWARDS app.

Takes ages to put your DOB in and then says already a member and I have no idea whether I am subscribed or not and 1 poly per £ spent how many points do you need to receive or buy anything NOT a clue????

Pretty terrible!
Tricky to use and only does food and drink discount where the gym card system already in place was fine. A basic QR code could have been incorporated into the members app easily if it had to be done this way.
I thought this would provide a seamless link to the clumsy rewards portal for purchasing gift cards, but I was sadly disappointed.

Member already exists it states. Originally it didn’t send an sms which it now does. Try to register and it’s states ‘Member already exists’. Awful until they fix it which is when?! Apparently you use this app to get your membership discount and have been told the discount button is coming off the tills today so you have to use the app. Going to cause chaos!

It does not send a SmS with pin to log in. You can creat account on there as it just says these credentials are already a member and I know for a fact that they are not. Hope they don’t expect to launch a broken app to be used full time. ( Test your apps before releasing)
