Got the app and not even receiving any Offers

So this app is way broken, when I signed up it instantly gave me the highest stats ’The Boss and even though I can still collect points by buying stuff, I don’t receive any offers that are being given to people who are on ‘Rising Star which is absolutely stupid and ridiculous that this is even happening to a new app!?!? At this point, the app is worthless to me as I can’t even use it. Disappointing.

App wouldn’t complete order

The app would not complete my order at the ‘go to basket’ stage, said it could not load my basket due to an error. However, the lady in store did my 50% discount by scanning my app QR code, she said it’s not working via the app when ordering on line and has to be done in store. So although I score the app 1 star, I score the actual shop 5 stars for still getting me my discount.

Download or don’t download, you lose either way! all existing points you earned are now worth NOTHING, doesn’t matter, I’ve tried using old points in store and the poor server couldn’t do anything. Garbage update, add to basket but can’t actually order

Useless!

Signed up to get the limited time half price footlong Sub. You HAVE to place the order in the app (staff in store refuse to help) and every time I try to place an order I get an error asking me to refresh. Have refreshed, signed out and back in, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, tried different orders (and yes, it’s annoying that you can’t customise most of the Subs) but it keeps failing. I love Subway and used to buy from them a lot but if this is how they treat their loyal customers then I will go elsewhere

Offers are broken

The new app says there are zero offers in London which is completely false.
The website isn't any better. There are currently four different PDFs you have to download and manually search through to see if a nearby store is participating in offers - one of these PDFs is 31 pages.
What's the point of Subway having an app and website if they cannot design a functional offer system? It's 2024. Subway is ridiculously far behind the competition.
When you do find a participating store, they tell you in person that they are not participating - has happened to me multiple times at multiple locations - so who is lying, HQ or the franchisees?

Unusable

Tried login in to activate new app four times. Each time it asks for a verification code sent to my email and each time the code takes soooooo long to arrive that it has times out before it can even be used!!

Absolutely appalling reward system. It was much simpler and better before the new app showed that I have a free 6 inch sub but it disappeared than it showed 50% off but when I went to buy it , it disappeared again this is false advertising not to mention the ridiculous amount we now need to spend to get “rewards”

Big downgrade from the old app which I thought had a satisfactory rewards system.
Currently, at my closest subway you would need to spend £70.35 in order to get a free 6-inch sub or £110.85 in order to get a free foot-long sub… What a joke.
They might as-well get rid of the rewards system and completely replace it with weekly or monthly offers on menu items similar to what KFC does on their UK app.

Awful ordering experience

It’s no longer possible to customise your order.
The main reason I used the old app was to pre-order and collect without waiting for it to be made.
With the new app there’s no way to customise a sub’s salad and sauces. Unless you’d like your order exactly as it is on the menu you will have to go and order it in person.

Worst Loyalty I have ever seen

Quite frankly the worst loyalty subway has gone from having a pretty decent one to now needing me to spend £150 for ONE free sub. Least rewarding loyalty to exist, I used to go there every week and now it’s not worth it so I don’t go at all.

This company is worst to deal with. Their customer care don’t bother to act on customer complaint. On top of that all the people run subway franchise (at Ilford east London) they were even worst when it comes to serving customer. They are rude arrogant and misbehave with female customer when tried to use the points before it expire. Reported twice to subway with location branch number and name and address but as expected they don’t want to know. My advise is not to bother about subway sandwich and it’s reward and stick with other outlets who actually honour the rewards programmes despite of upgrading or changing the app.

Worst customer experience at Colchester Lightship Way

I decided to go to Subway as I got an email mentioning that I have a 50% discount on foot long. The person at the till mentioned that the QR code is not working and that I should try to pay using the App as the discount was available there for pick up. Once I made the order online the problem she mentioned that she would not give me the sandwich until they get the payment confirmation. However, I got charge in my account for the amount of the sandwich and now the order is not even appears in the order history. So i have not evidence of getting my money back from the bank. The not only lost a customer but also put a sandwich in the bin even when i show them that I pay for it.

This new app is so bad!

Every time I try to log in I get the same two messages, the first one says “default sorry please try again” then get met with another message saying “we’ve detected you’re in a different country” and forces me to sign out. I moved to the UK over a year ago and opened a subway account here and didn’t had any problems with the old app. All my info is set to UK, even App Store, so I don’t know what the problem is. I think they need to start over with this app. Also, even with the old app, it’s kind of annoying how limited customization you can have making a “build your own sub” can only put certain things on a sub and can’t take away certain things. Not really a build your own sub is it, idk maybe it’s just something they do in the US, you can literally make your sub how you want it, put whatever you want on it no limitations.

Terrible change

Forget the absolutely terrible new rewards system. The in app offers no longer “work” after 5pm which I think is ridiculous. The new rewards system basically means it will take you ages to build up any kind of reward but now the few offers that you get can’t even be used after a long day at work. Better off buying all the separate ingredients yourself & making your own sandwich

Lacks order options. Login fails while ordering.

Needs all options to allow you to full customise your sub.
If you don’t want cheese, you shouldn’t have to have it!
Likewise for cucumber, or any other combination.
Should have option for adding different veg selections and sauces too.
Could do with option to cut the foot long into two subs at the start too… The knife at the end used to cut the foot long in two used on everything from tuna to cheese and the rest isn’t something you want run through your perfect sub. Vegans and others with dietary requirements take note.
Want your sub filling heated with sauce? That should be allowed… Where’s the chicken with bbq or teriyaki heated together option?
The app keeps forgetting who you are, and login fails right when you needed it - at the counter trying to buy the sub… App needs updating to cache the profile and allow Face ID to open it… Or something to stop the poorly timed login fails.
The app is useful for the deals. But could do with option to create Apple wallet items for them (while logging into the app in store is an issue).
Points for subs now set to £150 of sub purchases equals one £10 foot long meal.

Awful new app with a terrible rewards scheme.

I’m not bothered by the wiping of points which is a shady move but was communicated. The new app is buggy and a mess. Dropped my order once then failed repeatedly at the payment stage. I eventually gave up and went elsewhere. Add this to the terrible value rewards scheme which now requires a spend of well over £120 to get a free footlong and I’m done with regularly eating there.

Dreadful New Rewards App

I don’t know why Subway decided to Change from thier old app that was Absolutely Fantastic. Always loved the food and the rewards app until they discontinued it. This New app Logs you out constantly and when you open the New App Again and Oh my gosh it is a Awful Bad design, Doesn’t work properly so I think I will Not eat at Subway anymore after all the years I have. After the update I can’t even log in without it saying the app saying that I’m apparently in a different country, when I’m not, so I can’t even access the app.
And I tried redeeming my hundreds of points only to find out by the cashier that the points have all been wiped off because of the new “update”. How does an update correlate with your points being removed? It should’ve carried over and also the existing app should’ve been updated to prevent all this

They’ve been making it worse for years

When subway’s loyalty scheme first launched it was called subcard. I joined in 2018, you’d spend about £8 and end up with a free cookie or coffee, or like £10-15 and have a free sandwich which was brilliant! Then they got rid of the subcard scheme, introduced the new ‘subway’ app it and you had to spend £15 for a free coffee or side and like £25 for a free sandwich which was not the end of the world, inflation etc and the new app was better to use. Now about 2 years after they first introduced this new subway app they replaced it again, and now it’s insanely complicated and the rewards are much worse. You’ve got to spend much more money and you get much less. Who is spending £600 a year at subway??? The app is also significantly more buggy. Oh and also users were given about 1 month’s notice to use all their points otherwise they would all be deleted which felt really scummy. Poor show subway!!!

Doesn’t work, can’t register or login

Shut up about losing your previous points, you were all warned about this numerous times. It’s your fault for doing nothing.
But this app is still terrible simply because it doesn’t work. When opening the app, there are two options, sign up or sign in. Both options show an “Access Denied” error page. This makes the app unusable, so this 1 star rating is justified. I would rate it 0 stars if I could.
I will no longer go to Subway, and I’ve requested termination of my Subway Rewards account. Why should I bother when they’ve released a completely broken app? Of course there’s no way to contact the developers.

Absolutely appauled

The workers were furrys, may i say less?
After working long, long hours on my 3-4 shift at the club, I went to my local subway. Only for it to be shut down. So I used my rewards app to find a new location, led me to an abandoned park. Then, I found another one. Only to be greated by a bunch of furrys who tried charging me for every single topping on the sub. I’m truly afraid that i have ingested rabies and am scared for my life.

Absolute ripoff changing the old system! Now you have to spend £15 to get £1 of credit! So if you wanted a 6 inch for free you’d probably have to spend about 75 quid! The old system had much better loyalty benefits and you got way more reward for your money! Lost old points, locked out of new app

Not happy about losing our old points, new app is inaccessible and I’ve been locked out for trying to sign in with two phones (which I own both). Fair to say this ‘upgrade’ has been a complete shambles. Not seeing any benefits from complying with subway’s new world order, won’t be buying subway until they sort themselves out and give us the mechanism to gain proper rewards for our custom. Subway was my escape from all the trauma in my life and the part I enjoyed the most was redeeming my free rewards from the app, this point system was fair and rewarding at the same time, some could say it was the perfect balance. Ever since this new app had been released my enjoyment from subway has significantly declined, no longer do I get the satisfaction of redeeming free rewards and instead I get scammed in this new reward system. Ever since my mum died in a car accident after running over my dog I had to go to subway to get happiness. This is no longer the case

The old rewards system was way better

With the old subway rewards system you could get points much faster and use 100 for a free coffee or 500 for a free sub. .
But with this new rewards system you need to spend £15 to get just £1 worth of points.. not even enough for a coffee after £15 spent! Unless I’m missing something you would need to spend over £75 for a single free sub? Seriously?
Awful and not worth the time, I may as well go elsewhere..
Also I had 400 points on my old subway rewards and they have all been lost because of this so it’s good bye subway for me.
Also the app seems glitchy and slow. Not that it will matter as I’m not going to use it.

The worst loyalty scheme around

I am SUCH a fan of subway..or I was. On average I buy maybe 3 salads a week and the reward system in the past was pretty good. However this new ‘loyalty’ programme is insulting and clearly a way for subway to take more away from the customer and give themselves much more. It works out on average you need to buy 13 footlongs to now get a free one, or salad wise, I’ve brought 6 and I’m now with £2 off my next salad..ridiculous. Shambolic and shameful. I will be hugely limiting how much I spend and I’m sure many many more will do too.

They created an new app to wipe liability

Clearly, the main intention to creating this new app and rewards system was to wipe all built up reward points and clear their liability of free sandwiches.
This sounds so harsh but I went to spend my points, got my 12 inch made and then they tell me they don’t accept the app and showed me approx 20 previous orders where this had happened and customers refused to pay.
I’m pretty sure the amount of anger and betrayal customers have felt is going to cost more than all those wasted sandwiches?!

Unable to Migrate to new rewards

Subway have taken a working system and broken it. This is on top of inferior reward system. I can not register my account. The emails arrive to late and I keep getting an error message saying either to many attempts or the email has times app. Subway support is non existent and despite trying to to contact them they have simply not responded.

Unfairly reviewed by the masses

It would appear that, among many things, people chose to ignore the emails subway sent, informing people that their points needed to be spent before the new systems were implemented. It is disappointing to see many reviews from people stating that their points were stolen. You all had plenty of time to use them. App works fine and the reward system is in line with other large brands.

Shocking Rewards Service!!!!

I had a few 1000 points on the previous app and these have been wiped off!!! Absolutely terrible customer service this. What’s the point in the app if you just wipe them off and release a new app.
I’ll never go here again now you’ve completely screwed people over like. I’d spent loads on Platters through work for customers so had loads of points, totally gone now!!!
Also as a caveat to this, for everyone’s knowledge Subway suspended my account because I was spending too much!!!! Lost out on loads of points there and had to make a justification to activate my account again!!!

SO BAD i thought “where are the cameras hiding”

Waited 24 minutes for my order- and the app said it wasn’t done yet. After having to go up to the counter to ask myself i received my sub with nothing but turkey breast (although i added many extra salads and dressings). When i asked the staff they told me the receipt said it had nothing but that added on. So then i asked if i could get the cheese and salad put on anyway as its free, the woman working said that since that i ordered on the app she couldn’t add it on although it wouldn’t have cost anything extra. 31 minutes later i sat down to eat…safe to say i would’ve had better treatment ordering off a leaf to a colony of ants.

Awful experience of App use

I’m a very regular customer & for the first time today I ordered on the app. Everything with my order was wrong, so wrong I think I might of got someone else’s sub! It was also 15 minutes late from the pick up time I booked which made me late for work 🙁. The server was grumpy, rude & made me feel uncomfortable. This review review is about the service not the app but still… sort it out subway!

Just terrible

I don’t know why Subway decided to change their app and point system. It shows they really just wanted to make more money. From other reviews, it seems the points system has been completely demolished and isn’t worth the trouble of the app. The app itself seems to barely work. Any time I attempt to log in, I click pick up, choose the location that’s less than a mile away from me, and then it tells me that the app detects I’m in a different country and I’ll have to use guest checkout. So I can’t even get points! I don’t know how it manages to suggest local locations but also tell me I’m in a different country. I reached out to customer service, and was told that this message only pops up if my IP is detected somewhere else, and to turn off any VPNs. My phone is set to the UK, my App Store is set to the UK, and I don’t have any VPN. They need to build a better app (they should’ve done that before discontinuing the past one) and bring back the actually beneficial point system! Shame on you subway. Do better.

Take rewards away randomly

Downloaded the new app and went to use the 50% off footlong offer. All of a sudden the rewards are completely wiped and I have none. I had the 50% offer and a free cookie. I haven’t had a chance to use any of them. I’d downloaded the app and within 5 minutes both rewards are cleared.
What’s the point in offering things to then just take them away if someone actually tries to use them. Not really good enough

Awful update

I used the new app this morning and they have removed some options that I used to use unless I just haven’t found them yet?
You can no longer remover the bag option if you order ahead, I don’t need a massive paper bag for my salad I’m happy to bring my own and save on recycling.
Also I couldn’t find anywhere to leave a note for the shop as I like my dressing separate as I collect on my way to work and don’t like when it has gone a bit soggy after a couple of hours.
The points rewards are even worse now, I’m never going to get enough for a free lunch.

Revised review

Apparently the reason I couldn’t sign in when I tried for ages, was because the phone had to be restarted. No instruction to say this though. Once that happened, I was able to get it to sign in. It also now uses Touch ID which is good so I don’t have to panic about my password. No idea yet if this will work any better when not on my house WiFi, so it may still be a pain to sign in when you want to collect some points. I tried to add it to my apple wallet (for which there is an option) but it wouldn’t work, which is somewhat vexing. Is there another trick?
Like I said though, Touch ID is an improvement.

Hope they go out of business soon

Not going to lie that I enjoy a Subway every now and again. I abandoned them about a year ago when they changed their ordering system when in store I ended up somehow paying a ridiculous price when they started charging for salad! Then strangely it became easier to pre-order on the app to avoid extra charges. Now they’ve changed everything all over again, made the rewards practically nothing, have posters all over the place stating there’s a £5 deal for any footlong (participating venues only), but then none within a 5 mile radius are participating in the deal, despite those outlets having the posters up. Horrid horrid company and hope they go bust through severe lack of respect for their loyal customers.

Subway poor customer care

Ok, so my problem is with Subway approach to customers for the rewards scheme, but this new app was the trigger for changing the rewards programme and if this is a sign of how Subway want to treat rewards then it’s a pointless app (literally!). The change from old to new rewards program was advertised in advance. The fact that the old points were not converted and carried across is poor. But to make it worse the old points stopped being accepted earlier than communicated and I therefore lost a lot of credits as the stores would no longer take them. I contacted Subway customer care before the old reward system was retired but have not heard back after 1+ week and under new Rewards system I now have 0 points. I was always of the understanding that Rewards systems are designed to build loyalty and Subway have actively taken my loyalty away. Without the lock in I can start to see how much the sandwich pricing has increased recently…correcting my points with the balance the stores would not accept would help me if Subway are listening?

Trash app

This new app is an absolute joke. I just came back from overseas and I was about to make my casual order through the app and then pick it up from the store. The app was lagging all the time, I wasted at least 15 mins trying to buy two sandwiches. Once I get to the payment method, the app would not accept any of my cards no matter how many times I tried. Tha gave me the only option to proceed with Apple Pay which I did. I got a clear message that my payment was rejected and my order will not proceed. However, I got charged for the whole amount. I went to the store where the pick up was set and they say they can’t find my order although I got charged. The absolute rubbish app.

Dear Subway APP Team,

I would like to start this review off by just saying what in the world did you guys come up with. There’s no way you guys thought this would be a good idea, and then have the audacity to tell me to go earn ‘subway cash’. Well you can keep your subway cash to yourself tyvm.
I even took time out of my day to do some calculations, and I figured out that you need to spend £105 to achieve £7 worth of Subway cash (ikr subway cash), I was in such disbelief I even triple checked my answer.
The only way you guys can save this is resort back to the point system for before

Waste of time

Tried to reset my password as is required to use the new app. Email invariably takes between 10 mins and 50 to arrive which has timed out by then, when they eventually send an email within 5 mins of requesting one it then says you’ve requested too many and try again later. Given the reviews I don’t think I’ll be bothering not worth the hassle

Well, you have really done it. I’ve been a customer of yours for a long time. At least 20 years. I used to really like the rewards and you have lost my custom forever. Not only have you revamped the rewards scheme, but you have also erased all the points that I had amassed previously. It was not clear that existing points would disappear. So I’ve lost out on at least 3 free footlongs because of this. So with respect, I’m done. I’ll sooner eat a half eaten discarded mouldy sandwich than step foot in a Subway again.

Points system significantly reduced

With the old app I was able to get a free coffee or sub every now and then which was a nice perk for being a loyal customer. However this new app seems to have just been a way to massively reduce the reward point value which now makes it hardly worth having the app on my phone, I doubt I’ll bother to use it which I guess is what they want. Equally though it will encourage me to try new places to eat now there’s no incentive to stick with the same lunch every day. Just a shame really as it worked well before!

Old points don’t carry over??

I had 2000 points/2 free foot longs previously, and while I was aware a new app was coming I assumed these points/rewards would carry across as was never notified any differently. Have just downloaded the new app, logged into my account (same as one I had 2000 points on) and very disappointed to see the points didn’t carry across. Very anti consumer. If you’re not going to show any loyalty to me by removing my points without warning, why should I bother showing loyalty to you? Will think twice before getting a subway in the future.

A downgrade to an already bad app

The previous app was... ok, but even that was a downgrade of a better one. This app is just terrible. First of all, i only downloaded it for the free offers i knew there would be. Lo and behold, there was. I attempt to use it to get a free cookie and a half off footlong.
It took me about 10, maybe 15 minutes of struggling because the app is so poorly designed. Nothing loaded properly and the app is just ugly and not user friendly. Not really relevant to the app but it reminds you how expensive subway has gotten lately as well.
Anyway, after fighting with the UI, my offers dissapeared again. Gave it the benefit of the doubt, waited, restarted. Nothing. Waste of half an hour of my life subway. Also your cookies are getting smaller

Utter Rubbish

What a massive step backwards after removing my past accumulated points (to be fair I was given notice of this) it’s been replaced with a meagre points offering with time limited rewards that are no where near what they used to be, after the gradual decline of the brand and the not so gradual decline of my local subway which wouldn’t look out of place in a war zone (post missile strike). On the upside my money will now be spent with local vendors rather than a soulless corporation that values me about as much as it does it staff

Terrible rewards system

The new rewards system is terrible! It’s been marketed as new improved and better however this is not the case at all!
You have to spend a substantial amount more to get a very small reward for being a loyal customer and the points you earn could be lost. This app feels very much like a con.
I definitely will not be going to subway anymore and will be taking my money elsewhere.

Awful

Rewards system is very poor, just a con now really and new marketing and a new app to make it seem like it’s new and improved when it’s just less features and costs you more money to get any form of a reward.
Won’t be going back to subway, plenty of other much better rewards systems for other restaurants.
Only slight positive was my “status” (classifying people on their spend amount is not even appealing especially the difference between hot shot and the boss being £200???) meant I got a free 6 inch sub bare in mind that has to be used in 7 days…. Or I loose it.
Overall don’t waste your time, joke. The old system was much better, felt more easy to obtain a reward and made you want to come back. This just doesn’t.

Terrible points system

Subways New Rewards Scheme: A Betrayal of Loyalty
The recent changes to subways rewards scheme have left me absolutely livid! It's as if they've taken a sledgehammer to the very foundation of customer loyalty and smashed it to pieces.
The new points system so confusing and frustrating. It's like they went out of their way to make it as complicated as humanly possible, just to spite their customers. Trying to decipher how many points I've earned is hard.
And let's talk about the rewards – or should I say, the insultingly pathetic scraps they're offering now. What used to be a decent discount or a free meal has been slashed to next to nothing. It's like they're laughing in our faces, expecting us to be grateful for their measly handouts.
But the absolute kicker? The audacity to slap expiration dates on our hard-earned points! So now, not only do we have to deal with their asinine system, but we're also under pressure to use our points before they vanish into thin air.
Well, guess what, subway ? You've lost a loyal customer. I'll be taking my business – and my money – elsewhere, somewhere that actually values and respects the people who keep them in business. Consider this my final farewell to your disgraceful excuse for a rewards program.

Subway points

I recently downloaded the new subway app however in the old app I had 466 points- what happens to the points I’ve earned on the original app. Will the be transferred from over to the new app( I’m using the same email and account) if so, why is mine not working and could you do something about this. Less points per pound spent

The only reason this new app was introduced was to reduce the rewards power you have as a customer.
Although you still get 10 points for every £1 you spend, you can only redeem £1 worth of rewards with 150 points.
So…. I have to spend £15 to get 150 points in the app. If I now want to use these points to pay using Subway Cash, this will only reduce my bill by £1? Seriously? What a scam.

So I don’t know how the last app worked but it felt better points wise, now every £1 you spend you get 10 points, 150 points gives you £1 back to spend on any item in store ok so to get £1 back you have to spend £15 so you have to spend £75 to get £5 back which still isn’t enough to buy a 6inch sub yes spending £75 doesn’t even get you a 6inch sub back, that’s shocking very poor subway

Rewards don’t seem as good

After being so used to the old app and points system this doesn’t seem as good. No subsquad anymore and have to spend a lot to get rewards. Can never use points on in app orders always has to be in store and new points method doesn’t seem as good at all. In fairness though new app layout is nice but hopefully points system is fixed and subsquad is re added.
