Poor service, poor customer support
Sent money last Month to the recipient, meant to be instant, turn out to be after 72 hours as they need verification. Sent again this month to the same person, again meant to be instant, turn out 72 hours still pass and nothing happen, called customer support and instead of apologising, comment was partner back fault not our fault. I don’t know partner bank, I know you guys. Great idea, poor execution

Worst App ever
I sent £150 to a family member since Thursday they are yet to receive it even though they advertise same day transfer. This app keeps sending me spam email and text. I’ve got over a hundred of them without any progress on the status of funds transferred. Please avoid this company totally if you want peace of mind. If I don’t get my money back in 7days I will be reporting them to the financial Ombudsman as a scam company!!!

Amazing service so far as i have done 2 transactions and paid no fees i used azimo for quite a while now but there exchange rate is always lower because there transaction fee is only £1.49 if Remitly keep giving the good exchange rate and bring there fees down i think they can become the best app available in the market as transfers are done within hours !!! Impressive 5 stars

This is one of the best gift that 21st century technology has given to us. Send money to your loved ones with just matter of clicks and within few hours someone’s life is changed. And the best part is, it gives THE best rate available with literally no fees in comparison to other exchange services.
I wish you start doing more currency’s for Europe etc. Also, have a card that can be used worldwide so that I can be relaxed and travel more around the world.

Useless compared to World Remit
The first payment I sent went through in minutes. Since then been waiting 6 hours for a payment to go through. Totally unimpressed. No better than the awful Western Union

Money got stuck and I don’t know for how long!
Beware of using this app, your money can get stuck and you won’t know when the recipient will get it. I used their so called “express” service. I then got an email saying the payment is being reviewed by their partner, but you will never know how long that review will take!
I then got an emails asking to send them my ID and answer some questions. I was told once they get my documents the matter will be resolved within one hour. But even after 12 hours I don’t know what’s happening.
They should write clearly on their website that the the money you send can get trapped somewhere with their partners and then you are screwed. Instead they make tall claims of sending money instantly, which is very misleading.
I don’t know how long it will take my money to be either sent to the recipient or back to my account. It may take days/ weeks or how long I don’t know. So if you are using this app, keep in mind that you may end up in my situation, where your family need money for an urgent matter, and they won’t get it, you will also not get it back so that you can use other reliable money transfer companies.

Worst Money Transfer service Ever
I have used this app to transfer money from UK to Sri Lanka , I have choose faster payment system at 11am. They took the money immediately from my account. Around 11.30 PM (after 12.30 hrs) they send me a text message ask me to call them , I was in a line well over 1hr to talk to the customer service, Finally customer service assistant answer my call and said that they will call me back in an hr , Every since they did not call me yet .
Very poor service, I will not recommend this to anyone, There are plenty of better ways to send money from UK to London .

Caveat Emptor- Remity is a Scam!!!
Tried to remit some money using this app, transfers the said amount from my bank to Remity, only to start receiving phoney phone calls and being asked stupid questions, to verify this and verify that and when you cancel the transaction they lock you out of the app and the account you created and you have no access to the record of any transaction you made and your money is not returned back to you!!

Better than TransferWise
I had been using TransferWise for over 2 years for India and thought they are the best for India however Remitly gave me Rs 400 more on a Rs 55000 transaction. Very good!!!

Poor Customer Service
I wish I had read the other review before using Remitly. First and second transfer was fine. The receiver received the money in less than 5 minutes. The third transfer pending and was told it will be transferred in the next four hours. 24 hours later and still the transfer hasn’t gone through :-(

Left me in the muck
Been using this app for 2 years every month. I live on a remote island in Philippines with no ATM and this app has been my lifeline. However it has now decided I need to update my security as in provide some form of ID from back in UK!!! I don’t have access to any of those documents. I emailed Remitly several times and it was just a catch 22 situation and a loop of customer service replies that never answered my questions and just left me screwed. That was last month and after I had uploaded a scan of my passport I never heard back from Remitly and the red warning notification things disappeared. So now I have tried to make a transfer and the app allowed me to do so ...only for it then to deny me and put me back into that situation of having to prove my address etc!! Remitly has taken the money from my bank account and I CANNOT CANCEL the transfer. There simply is NO OPTION to cancel on the app. I’ve emailed three times and NO REPLY in ten hours so far.
Also, their exchange rate is rubbish.

Guy don’t use this company to get your money transferred. The service is very very very very poor. The say their customer service is 24/7 but you will never get to speak to anyone and they will keep you on hold and make you listen to the music. The transfers you do with them is not secure either if anything goes wrong. The don’t take any responsibility of your money transferred.
I never write reviews about any company, but this is first in my life am writing a review of a worst company I have dealt with. One and only one worst service provider.
I am warning people to not use this company to transfer your money. Your will really make a mistake if you use this company.

WHAT IS GOING ON?
I used remitly thinking it would be faster transaction and would save me actually going to the bank to deposit my travel payment. i was wrong, EXPRESS service really meant a couple of days! Haha! I watched the “expected receipt date” go from a couple of minutes to a couple of days! It is very embarrassing to the people i transact with.
i loved the service, even gave it 5 stars before but as soon as i added a new recepient, it just went downhill. I am now scared to use it again after this.
I emailed them, NEVER got a response even to let me know that they received my email
Called them TWICE! First i was on holdfor a couple pf minutes, it seemed that 24/7 support is not true, it’s likenobody was on the other line to speak to you!
I am still calling them now, i am already on hold for 16 minutes, and counting! Hoping to speak to a human being maybe after a couple of hours! Jk
**UPDATE!***
Spoke to a lovely woman after being on hold for nearly 20 minutes, SHe explained that it has nothing to do with their system, some banks take time to receive funds, she assured me that the funds will be transferred on the ‘revised’ promised date. Told them that i will call again if not!

Frankly advice, if you see just a minor increased rate at this application still don’t use it there are several reason
1. What they say about the timing of the transaction is not absolutely right because saying 2 hours for transaction time which take usually takes more then days
2. Their customer service is very bad, because if you are facing any problem and call them they will say we are serving other customers please wait after waiting 20/30 minutes twice then I opt for call me option still it has been 1 day I didn’t received their call
3. When you email them once you are not gonna get even the automatic email reply after emailing them trice I received an automatic email from remitly saying we will contact you soon and it’s been more then 5 business hours still haven’t heard from them
So frankly advice don’t look for any little increase in exchange rate because if you are stuck at some transaction you will feel miserable ,,, there are other application whose service is better then them

Please avoid using this service. I have made a transfer using their economy service. The bank transfer of funds from my account to the Remitly took more than 3 / 4 hours, this kind of information was never mentioned anywhere.
