Very poor app.

The app offers a bonus if you refer a friend. Well I did and neither of us received the offer promised. I raised a query through the app and got an acknowledgment from the support team it would be dealt with within 48 hours. Well, over two weeks and I’m still waiting. Poor service. Not impressed.

I have been visiting Hoole & Harris outlets for a number of years, but only recently realised that they offered a loyalty app. Despite a hiccup initially, with not being credited with a free cup for downloading app, all was sorted quickly and promptly by customer services. Most impressed. My wife and I both love the coffee options and prefer the flavour, taste and presentation (not builders mugs or silly off centred cups and saucers) of H&H coffee to other high street outlets.

Yo-yo app

The yo-yo app is awful: am unable to run loyalty cards for both Cafe Nero and Harris + Hoole simultaneously. Cannot verify my ph number for the second account because it is already registered to the first one ?! When the app suggests contacting cust services the whole thing crashes.

I have reported that the Harris Hoole app actually links with my Cafe Nero account. I believe there is a GDPR issue but they are ignoring my reports.

Great app for my favourite coffee shop

There is a LOT of competition for coffee shops in Amersham, Bucks, but for years Harris and Hoole has been my favourite and remains so. In fact my 5yo daughter and I just call it “the favourite coffee shop” and don’t even really refer to H&H by name! The app is very easy to use and the benefits are generous. Love it.

This app remains one of the leadt teliable on my iPhone. More often than not it fauls at the till or diesny show vouchers earned. Tiday it wouldnt liad at all. Very poor in 2022!!

Ignores notification preferences

Started receiving marketing emails from H&H despite my preferences in the app stating I wanted no notifications or emails. Impossible to just unsubscribe. Emailed H&H and have been ignored! App now deleted and I won’t be purchasing anything in their stores any more.

Sometimes works

I have now had a couple of times where the app doesn’t record my visit and I miss out on stamps. I have approached staff before and they have checked to see if it’s gone through and my scan hasn’t, so they rescan my app and it still hasn’t gone though. I have purchased two drinks which means I miss out on two stamps. I regularly use H&H and I scan each time but the app seems to be becoming more unreliable.

Very grubby

I’m in Brooklands H&H right now, very few customers in at the moment, so somewhat disappointed that the staff have not cleaned down the tables, I had to hunt down somewhere clean to sit. Coffee is good but the surroundings are grubby and uninviting.

Cafe within Tescos Southend on Sea

Always have a coffee with great service but not today ! Served by a young man who refused to give me the piece if cake I requested. Costing almost £3 I requested to change ( un touched ) the dry end piece of the cake to which he replied “ its all the same “ ! Maybe to him but I am the unhappy customer !! I left the end of the dry cake wasting me £ 3 !! Great coffee though.

Popped into H&H Ashford for a coffee and bite to eat today (21/12/21) Chap serving was so helpful and friendly. Was a breath of fresh air to have someone serve me who was happy and actually wanted to help bring drinks and food to our table.

I stood at the counter for over 10 minutes waiting to be served there was nobody in front of me

The girl had took 1 order and proceeded to make the coffee while I was standing there

You really need to train your staff to be able to take more than I order at a time

Once I put my order in the women huffed and puffed as if I was asking for a 3 course meal instead of 2 coffee’s

This was on Monday 1st November at 9.30am

As a regular to H&H, Ashford I feel I must sing the praises of this wonderful coffee shop & its team. I’m always greeted with a huge welcome from the team, we have a lovely natter whilst my coffee is being prepared ... which I must add is always done to the hugest standard & with the greatest care. My husband & I were amazed to even see the girls outside the store a few weeks back sanding down & staining the tables & seats ready for reopening. I shop in this Tesco on a weekly plus basis and always have to start with a less shot latte which the staff there know exactly how I like it, and then after I have shopped I have another delicious coffee and a snack 😁 the staff go above and beyond asking how I am and know me by name. Perfect coffees!

Seasonal drinks are a good turn too.

Only thing unclear is wether to use apple pay/wallet or the app and if they collect the same stamps.

Never tried the pastries, i take a star off because because food seems more industrial than homemade at each coffee shop (like many chain coffee shops) - can’t tell though because I have never tried.

Always amazing staff and amazing coffee

I’ve mainly use the Broadstairs Tesco H&H and the baristas always manage to put a smile on my face. They take the time to welcome you, chat whilst preparing your drink and finish off by presenting a great drink. If ever the coffee is a little off, no problem, the remake to how you like it. Great Branch.

Get the app it’s great for rewards!

Absolutely love the coffee at Harris and Hoole. Staff are always on top form and great with the kids. The app is great too! Wish I had got it sooner. Simple to use and earn stamps to get your free 7th coffee. You can store them up to. The free spins with every purchase is also good and helps get you extra stamps or coffee. Great reward system. We use Burgess Hill H+H and they are great.

Broadstairs Tesco

I take my mum to Broadstairs Tesco every time I visit her. We always stop in H&H first for coffee and something to eat. The staff are brilliant and the coffee/Food is just as good. Probably the best coffee shop for staff and ambience I have ever been in!

Ok coffee but app needs some work

Well the coffee is great as are the staff...

The app however is a little clunky and has a habit of logging you out - and then takes forever to log you back in - really embarrassing if there’s a queue behind you!!!

What do I think of Harris&Hoole? I shop in the Burgess Hill branch of Tesco frequently, never failing to stop for a coffee. All your staff in this particular branch are exceptional:- friendly, cheerful, never fail to ask how you are, remember you by name, It’s certainly one of my favourite places,it would be good to mention the coffee, changes are made each one tasting different to another, we have become a Coffee snob society, so it’s always good to try something different. Easy to use app

Excellent coffee, helpful and pleasant staff. This app makes it easy to track usage and free drinks. Had a problem with a free drink coming off my app but till refused to accept it. However good response from the support team quickly resolved the issue. My preference is to continue to pay direct and not through the app.

I’ve used this app for about 1.5 years now. I prefer the direct payment system rather than topping up. It’s simple to use, the staff are very knowledgeable with the app and if I do get stuck they are always willing to help me. Brilliant bit of kit!

It seems the app is updated weekly and kicks me out.

I’ve recommended a friend so they can get their drink for free, yet this hasn’t happened and no activity has be shown on her app.

Harris has the best coffee. This app does have regular updates but you get free coffees quickly and sometimes just because. Easy to use.

Where's my money gone?

I had a balance of around £20 but haven't been into a shop for a year or more as I've been away working. I updated the app but, when I looked at it today as I may be near a shop later, the balance has gone. I logged into my account successfully but it's showing no activity.

Endless updates

This app is updated on a weekly basis. It’s so annoying, because every time it updates it logs you out “for security reasons” (despite the fact no other mainstream app does so). Even if you use a password manager to copy and paste your passwords (eg no human error) it still has problems logging in so you end up continually resetting your password after updates. Everything is just a pain in the bum with this, and for the sake of a loyalty card it’s just not worth it.
