Saber Movie FX is the easiest way to produce saber action scenes with high quality full color sabers with sound effects.

Create awesome action scenes easily and quickly with our signature easy to use editing interface as seen in our other products.
This app is specifically designed for rotoscoping glowing colored sabers over individual frames of video. Rotoscoping is the process of overlaying graphic elements over video frames. This is a very time consuming process only intended for serious video producers.
Saber Movie FX also includes many sound effects to help you create great action scenes.

Before Saber Movie FX the only way to achieve this level of video enhancement is by spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars for special software and hardware systems.

Please respond there’s a huge glitch!

I’ve been making a custom colour, but while I’m hovering to place it it turns out a different colour then I chose, but when I place it, it becomes the colour I chose. Also, there was another glitch which made me write this review. Whenever I place a saber it turns very long even if I shorten the size using the tool! Please could you fix it thanks!

Good but needs some tweaks

Creating some really impressive stuff with this app however there’s a couple of things that could do with upgrading slightly.
Firstly the scrubbing bar overlays the bottom of the frame which can obscure your video to place effects.
Secondly there could do with an “undo” button so you can undo an effect if you make a mistake .
If those were in place I’d give this a 5 star review

Good at first...

At first I was really impressed with this app: fabulous displays and reasonably simple to work with. I got a few good movies out of it and I’m only just getting back into it. However, the biggest issues for me is both the constant duplication of effects into the next frame and the absolutely IMMENSE lag I’m now getting from it. Completely unusable. This has to be fixed, it is ruining this app, and the lag and duplication problems didn’t exist, this would be getting a straight 5 stars.

Does the job, yet extremely glitchy

First, I would like to establish that this does let you add saber effects to your movies, which is great. But there are many problems:
1: When you add sabers, they extend a small bit so it doesn’t match too well
2: If you have more than one effect on a frame at a time, it will glitch, skip frames and delete frames
3: occasionally it randomly duplicates effects into the next frame aswell
So please fix this, I am working on a 10 minute Star Wars film but I have to continue saving the film to my camera roll every 30 seconds of film, deleting the app, re-installing just to do the next section or add another effect to that section.

Pretty good

All in all pretty nice app but the lightsabers sometimes show up behind the actual imported video and also crashes need fixing but other than that it’s a great experience

£9.99 and you can’t even save

You make it all and then when you go to save it, it crashes, this is ridiculous. When you press the green tick to save to camera roll it does nothing. This needs fixing

Great Concept - Failed Execution

I can’t give any actual critique as I am unable to save anything - much like many other reviewers here the app keeps crashing when I try to save my videos.

NEEDS FIXING

I paid for this app which was not cheap and it isn’t letting me save my work. Every time i click the green arrow it just goes off the app. If left not fixed then I won’t be too happy and will pop back up but if it is fixed then i will be recommending this app to others.

Annoying

The actual editing software is very good, however, whenever I make a video, the app is not able to “make a movie” so I cannot save it to my camera role. This is very disappointing especially since it costs £10.

Love it but a few issues

I absolutely love this app but where’s the white yellow orange pink etc. There’s not enough blade colours and kylo’s blade doesn’t have an exclusive blur but on the other hand it’s really fun to use when you know what you’re doing. Overall good but keep on updating this app please.

Genius Idea

This app is great however I believe that by somehow editing the angle of the saber would make that much better difference. One big problem I had was crashing and if you download videos/photos from iCloud and they get reuploaded to iCloud, you can’t get those videos back on saber fx. All in all a good idea but needs tweaking and a bit more attention.

Good but not worth the price

Very good app, it is a bit time consuming but that has to be expected if working on mobile. Do think £9.99 is too much for what the app is though, should be priced between £2.99-4.99

This app is incredible

This app is so cool. You can use these light saber effects to create awesome stuff, amazing scenes, incredible lighting and the overall outcome is definitely worth it.

Didn’t let me save my project! 😡

I spent hours on getting the lightsaber effects just right for my video but when I clicked the green tick the app crashed! I was devastated! I then realised I can view the video in the app but I would like to export it so I can send it to my friends.
If it isn’t fixed soon I would like my five pounds that I spent on the app back and 2 hours of my life back to.

Time Consuming

It’s a great app. And all and all the fx are great but it took me about an hour to edit a 30 second clip I might be missing an easy way to do it but I don’t think I am

App crashes when closing on iPad

App crashes on iPad when I press the green tick at the upper right corner. It should publish the edited video but it does not.
Very frustrating as I cannot find a way to export my movie.

Great

I really love the app, there is no other apps that can do the same things at such a high quality level.
I only have one complaint and that is you cannot change the angle that the lightsaber blade is pointed at. Other than that it is one of the top apps on the App Store

Just so you know

Brilliant app! Can do realistic LIGHTSABER effects. An idea would be to draw a LIGHTSABER yourself to make more realistic blurs but apart from that it's a great app!
Also, to the people who are complaining about only being able to do one Saber you have to go forward each frame and add a new one on each frame. You can use key frames with the arrows on the timeline

Brilliant!

This is a very great app that makes the lightsaber look so realistic. The only problem is that the audio once the video is completed is not satisfying but should be easy to fix. Other then that, it's brilliant!

Not what expected

I think this app is very clever, it is just that it should automatically do the lightsaber action for you. It takes ages to do one lightsaber action because you have to move it a tiny bit every time

I have the force!

When I bought this app I was skeptic after looking at reviews but I'm glad I got it anyway. This app is great for young filmmakers such as myself, now we can make our own Star Wars movies! Another great app from the team behind Gun Movie Fx

I took a huge gamble downloading this app due to reading the reviews, BUT........ I am so glad I did, this is a really great app for all Star Wars fans, I have two young children who thinks it's "Awesome".

Save your money.

This app is terrible. Sorry, I have to do this because the app store doesn't offer a refund. £2.99 down the drain. I can't even get this to save the saber position for the first frame, let alone animate several seconds. Please let my £2.99 be worth something, if only as a warning to others. Something has to change here because it is an absolute scandal that app developers are making money by offering useless flawed apps with no refund option available. Very annoyed.

Great!

I loved gun fx and I love this, but it was a bit unclear at first how to make the lightsaber work, I only realised when I saw the other reviews that it has to be added on frame by frame which lets the app down a bit :/ but other than that its great! :D add more things like force and stuff!! :P

Cool! Time consuming though!

Been looking for an app like this for ages and this is great. BE WARNED this still is a time consuming process to add fx like this. Several mins for just a few seconds of fx but this is nothing compared to the alternative on a pc programme. Should add saber clash/flashes, power up/down graphics and force lightning fx and it would be pretty much perfect! Best app makers there is!

Yes, I love Gun Movie Fx. So I got this. I like the app, can be very useful and is quite realistic (if you get the fx right) but I don't like adding all the fx on every frame though!

I love this app as it save you loads of time. It's a bit annoying that you have do do the light sabre in almost every frame but its still very realistic if you do it right.
