Can’t check in even with WiFi

Tried so many times now to check in but with 4G or even connected to the gyms WiFi it just gets stuck on pending and the check in won’t confirm so can’t get access with the app. So frustrating. There must be an easier way to get checked in

Can’t check in in Gym group and no support is available

Poor user experience

The user experience overall is poor. It is hard to see everything that is available within each level of membership. You cannot sort by distance or a specific hour. The timetables are often wrong. Make it easier to navigate

1. Would like to have a distance radius filter. 19miles is too wide and it would be great to have a slider (1-19 miles) so I can find super local studios
2. Time filters by every 30 mins instead of hour bands

Terrible app absolute joke

So I switched to Wellhub after going to commercial gyms for 10 years have to say terrible experience. First off I can only visit the gym one per day which is fine in 99% of cases but there are times I need to come back but I can’t. But the worst is, it’s not clear what time gyms close and you can check in at a closed gym and not be able to check in to another gym because of this gyms terrible app. Very disappointed with this app. I’m very enthusiastic about the gym and when I have a session planned and can’t make it because app can’t give warnings about gym closing times (like I didn’t know any gym would close at 5pm and should’ve been warned before checking in). Will now have to spend £15 for a day pass at another gym . Finally there is no support I can contact. Just a terrible AI agent with limited responses

It only lets you pause for 30 days if you need longer you if to cancel your plan stupid a.i. Unfortunately it’s now more expensive than my regular gym membership so I’ll just change back not like I’m going anywhere in this economy

Terrible Customer Service

The app is great and the range of classes is really good too but this business goes out of its way to ensure that you get locked out and have to pay your way back in. I sent proof of a class being canceled by the studio and yet I got marked as missing a class and have many other instances where, through no fault of my own, I could not complete a check in yet they will do everything to punish you and then rude customer support if you enquire. Terrible business.

Terrible

Joined because it stated it had the gym group but I checked in and the code didn’t work. So I had to wait an hour to register my car as you get fined for entering the car park. Had an email stating that they fixed it but again same problem. Hardly any other gyms are registered even if you go with the higher end membership. Your better of paying full price for the gym you wanna join. Also if you do join this then you can only enter the gym once. You can’t re-enter so imagine you left something in the car. You can’t come back in the gym.

Useless app that’s been broken for months.

I downloaded the app and it doesn’t let me check-in to any of my local gyms. Wasted my weekend trying. No customer service available and nobody at the gym to speak to. I’d give this a generous 0/10 for usability and looking at other customer reviews, it’s been broken for a long time. Please scrap it and build something that actually works.

Badly designed UX

Technology should solve problems, not create new!
It’s extremely annoying to have to carry a gym plastic card and my phone, login, check in… I just want to do a quick gym sesh, not apply for a mortgage.
Please develop apple watch app so users can at least check in.
Please implement API endpoint to automatically check in when user swipes membership card at a participating location.

Poor UI / Family Member cannot use

1. I set up my husband as an additional family member and he did not get any option to set up The Gym Group registration as a first time user so he is not able to check into the gym as he doesn’t have a PIN. He tried to change his email address as well in case this was an issue as someone who has had a The Gym Group membership, and it wouldn’t let him use the other email domain. Tried to resolve with AI chatbot to no avail. All around terrible experience.
2. In the “Explore” tab there is no option to customise the radius you search within. This was fine when I first logged in as it defaulted to a smaller radius however it now searches a 19 mile radius of whatever location I enter. This is completely impractical for me and makes it pretty much impossible to find relevant options in the list of classes. New release needed that allows the user to select this radius. (I updated the app prior to writing to double check this wasn’t an old version issue)

Misleading Services

I signed up as I wanted to have unlimited massages. As soon as I signed up they changed the rules so it could be only two massages per month in the same location. After two weeks they changed it so only Diamond members can have free massages. I got in touch with the customer support and they literally jujitsued me with their Terms and Conditions. What a service.

I am disappointed with the current situation regarding the gym. I have been unable to access the facility, which has been very inconvenient and frustrating. One of the reasons for choosing this accommodation was the advertised access to the gym, and not being able to use it is unacceptable.

Painful manual check-in

The whole manual check-in is driving me nuts, if other apps can integrate with your gym partners’ booking system, then why can’t you? Search functionality for classes, with proximity, could be a lot slicker. I have enabled push notifications for the app on iPhone, and I’m still not receiving them premium service with a pretty low quality app.

Great idea, mediocre implementation

The app doesn’t always work and leaves you unable to use what you are paying for.
Helpline staff will only remove a no show with app evidence of the error. Other evidence of attending class is no good.

Extremely restrictive

The Wellhub restrictions have gotten really inhibitive. I pay £200 a month to use the platform, and i am only able to have one single missed class a month. In this instance, I did in fact check in at the venue but I forgot on the app! It’s only the 2nd day of the month and now if I forget again I will lose access to the platform although I am paying a massive amount for it. I contacted wellhub to remove this no-show mark I’ve received and they refused. think it’s really unfair that my no-show wasn’t removed, especially as you can see that I did check in at the venue. Now I’m at risk of paying £200 a month for an unused service.

Recommend for the price but not for the service.

It’s extremely frustrating that you don’t have a support phone line. The app on several occasions has not allowed me to book a class due to an error. I then miss out on the class and the only way to contact support is via email, where you’d have to wait for a response. The wellhub package and price itself is great, but the customer service is quite poor. So when the service works, it’s good but when it doesn’t you’re left stuck. Also on several occasions the gym I use had spaces in certain classes but Wellhub app wasn’t showing availability so I couldn’t attend the classes which sucked ☹️

Poorly designed app

I have a subscription with family members. The app is so poorly designed that it makes it very difficult to manage and resolve issues
Once you log in the app works OK. However if you have issues it is impossible to resolve. My son can not log in to sign into the gym. When he logs in he can see his account details but cannot navigate anywhere else making it impossible to actually use the app

Worst UI/UX - Poor User Interface and User Experience

I don’t know when they changed the format of the app, but it is now completely useless and inconvenient. Before it was perfect, you could do everything within the app, now you click on anything and it takes you to your internet browser… so what is the point of having an app? Each time you click something a new tab opens in your browser, it’s frustrating. I cannot easily see all my check in dates and times anymore and other important features I cannot access.
The whole app structure resembles a poorly done school project for a group of 6 year olds, who left it until last minute and just scrapped anything together. Please revert to the old style as it was perfect, this is highly inefficient and honestly making my gym experience much much worse. I rarely ever write reviews but my goodness this is so horrible it needed to be done. I hope the developers honestly fix it.

Useless!

This app is becoming more and more frustrating to use. I use the exact same gym near enough everyday yet, I have to close down the app, restart my phone and spend 10 minutes outside of the gym before it recognises I’m nearby or allows me to check in. I attend the gym on my lunch break due to a busy schedule, yet I spend 10 minutes of my hour just trying to get in. The front desk will not allow me to enter unless it’s been done through the app. This app has been updated and rebranded, yet somehow gotten worse. Whoever is in charge of app development must either under qualified or has no concern for user experience. Standing around with your phone in your hand in London is already dangerous due to phone thieves but not being able to contact you about this issue is just as absurd.

All decent London gyms now premium!

I’ve used Wellhub for nearly a year now and pay a hefty fee for the platinum membership. As of the past week, I’ve been unable to book any classes in and around where I live in central London - spoke to customer services (characteristically unhelpful) and they’ve moved them up to premium, without reflecting this in the app or notifying! This is outrageous as the membership rates haven’t come down, and there aren’t enough non-premium classes now to make it remotely worth using compared to before.

Fault on app not allowing check-in! Very frustrated!

App has stopped allowing the check-in function. As a result I have been unable to attend any gyms!
This is highly frustrating as there appears to be no way of amending this or getting in touch with Wellhub (I have tried repeatedly to get in touch or report a problem but am having no luck).
After several attempts of deleting & re-installing, trying different devices & different gyms I am reluctantly giving Wellhub 1 star as it is now unusable for gym access (classes appear unaffected).

Changed their offer right after purchasing and app does not display correct benefits

Wellhub has been so frustrating. There is a gym next to my house in partnership with them, but the Wellhub app uses such confusing language that I couldn’t tell what was included in their Platinum membership. They have no phone number of course, so I had to wait days to get an answer from them. Eventually they say I can get 10 Pilates classes a month on Platinum. I purchase it (mind you it’s extremely expensive so I was worried) and after ONE CLASS my app changes and shows my membership isn’t enough for classes. No phone, so I email again. Days of wait again. I ask for answers and all they do is repeat that I have to re-download the app, which I do. Still no update and still no good service. Wellhub is a joke and not worth your money. I’ll be cancelling and going straight to a club membership with my gym.

Only bad news

Joined as it was half the price of my gym membership. What I got was a membership that doesn’t work! Had 3 calls raised with them in each case it went to technical support who after a week of no response came back with an answer of it’s working ok. Awful

I broke my arm and they told me they couldn’t suspend my membership because I had been on holiday in August.
They also have a ridiculous check in policy where you have to check in on the app as well as at the gym. I often forget to use the app because - guess what - I’m busy doing the class in the gym - then they suspend your membership if you miss a few classes.
The timetable on the app never matches the gym timetable, the instructors haven’t been updated in 2 years.
You used to be able to use it when you were on holiday or travelling with work and they removed that benefit.
You used to be able to log in on the website and see timetables but now you can only use their crashy app.

Consistent booking issues

The app previously used to work well and you were able to book classes, however for the last 7 weeks there have been issues with booking classes.
Raised the issues with help centre and no resolution yet…

Good activities, bad app!

The activities and classes you can book through the app are great! I love them. But it’s so hard to actually book anything through the app. You have to either call, email or text the studio that runs the class rather than being able to book it through the app. Bad ticketing system. ClassPass does this much better, but the packages are cheaper and more reasonably priced on Gympass.

The app needs to improve massively, when I try to add family members it takes a lot of attempts which gets frustrating. When you finally get on the package selection the button does nothing on most occasions. Adding card details can also be frustrating. If anything goes wrong you have to start the whole procedure again. Please resolve this issue asap

Doesn’t let’s you in

Before I use to just swipe the specific gym card which I use to go more oftenly and it would let me in automatically after just checking through gympass old app. But since I have updated the app now called wellhub I can’t access the same gym through their card and every time I have to wait over the desk for someone to check me in manually. I hope wellhub resolve this problem ASAP. As I drag myself to the gym and it’s not a nice thing experience to waste time for every time access. As it discourages me.

Good - but kindly help with the access

Thanks for making this available. Just a feedback and hopefully I can get help. Gympass/Wellhub does not allow me to book a waitlist to the gym. There were few times that slots were open hours before the class, and cannot even enrol because I cannot book on a waitlist, it I do, I have to pay a separate amount even if I am subscribed to Gympass/Wellhub. I hope this can be looked at as I do not want to pay extra on top of my existing subscription. Thank you and all the best!

I thought about switching to Gym pass for several months, although I was relatively happy with the gym that I had been a member of for 5 years. I do a lot of Yoga and Pilates, which I had been paying extra for at that gym. By switching to Gympass I ended up at a much better gym and ended up saving around £30 per month on what I was paying for the previous gym and top up for Yoga and Pilates.
I now do more classes than I did before.

App enhancements would improve experience

Whilst Gympass offering is fantastic there are some niggles in the app that need to be addressed. 1. Need feature to enable user to check in to booked class retrospectively. If user inadvertently forgets to check in, it’s classed as a ‘no show/ cancel’ and there’s no way to actually respond to confirm the class was attended. 2. Timetable for some gyms is completely out of synch - classes missing and/or instructor names incorrect. Query raised over 6 mths ago about about Frame Livestream table out of synch is not yet resolved.

Great app but entering gyms is awkward

When I have to enter a gym, which is what I do most in the app, I have to open the app, select a different page, click a few things then get an email to my WORK email to open a link to a camera scanner web page.
All is just very long winded and difficult to do first thing in the morning when I just want to walk into my gym and I know there’s easier ways to do that

Good concept, poor app

The concept is great and I’m enjoying using the service. The app is sub par for the price of the service. It sends two notifications for every activity (two check in reminders, two email confirmations etc). The check in notifications take you to your browser and not to an appropriate page, rather than your app. It takes a while to recognise a gym via GPS too.
Please invest in the app experience! And pleeaaaase fix the double notification issue!

Stopped working

They have recently made changes to the app that made it so people travelling cannot use it abroad. Really upsetting because that’s exactly what I like about Gympass. I got in contact with their customer service and they said it is an problem caused by the update and they have no idea when it will be fixed. Disappointing.

App has got a lot better over the past year. Previously would struggle to check in when the connection wasn’t the best. An Apple Watch integration would be great so I can leave my phone in the car.

Amazing

I first joined Gympass via my work rewards schedule in 2019. It was good as it allowed me to go to my local gym for about £30 a month cheaper than going direct with gym.
I’ve since rejoined and the app has improved so much.
You now have lots of free apps included in the plan. Trainiac where you have an online personal trainer where you have scheduled video calls and personal plans, Les Mill on Demand premium, Fabulous, Headspace to name a few.
I now travel a lot so take advantage of using gyms in multiple locations.
Well impressed with this app. Not had any problems signing in.

Class bookings declined

Unexplained glitch that prevents me from booking classes at certain gyms in my network. Gyms don’t care and won’t help. Impossible to contact anyone at gym pass to correct the issue. Very frustrating experience.
Update: despite numerous attempts to sign up to the gym that is “in my network” to book classes, my requests are still being denied. This app is really unreliable. Gyms don’t care, there is no number to call and you are left without the use of facilities that are covered by the gym pass network.

Flexible

Great if you want to try different things and fit exercise across multiple locations. Also lots of mental health and nutritional stuff which is helpful too. Think it’s only available through companies which is why lots of people haven’t heard of it!

Annoying when trying to cancel

Typical app that spams you with messages and reminders to keep your subscription going once you try to cancel. It baffles me how companies decide on this being a good idea. The subscription itself does what it says, and it’s a good business idea, but when you start pestering your customers who try to leave you only make yourself look bad. Leave me the hell alone!

I've never done more sports + wellness than now!

I'm doing more sport and fitness than I have ever done in my life. I feel incredible thanks to gympass and your included premium partner apps.
I'm feeling great physically and mentally.
I use a mix of local fitness classes, 1-2-1 meditation and breathing classes from home, and then I love to try out other sports, from climbing to rowing. And then when you want a more chilled rest day, the top package allows me to go to different swimming pools with steam rooms. I'm a huge fan of gympass and have encourage a few friends to get their companies to add it for their employees. It's the best employee benefit I've had before.

BEWARE IT IS A SCAM!

I have been to 3 gyms that were shown to be part of my Basic Plan in the app but when I attended the gyms they said they were no longer part of Gympass. Now I don’t have any gyms nearby to me and I have payed for a month membership which they said they will not refund! Some gyms even change to only be available in a more expensive plan without any notice so do not apply for a Gympass membership if you want to attend a particular gym that is advertised to be available in your plan because it is a scam!

Riddled with bugs

Service is great when it works but app is riddled with bugs. Several times I’ve had to webchat with someone in the gym’s foyer because the checkin won’t work, the map of gyms you can go to is very hard to use. The checkin works better on mobile web but you have to delete app to use that, but then the map is much (even) worse on the mobile web. Some gyms ask to hold on to your ID if you use gympass, which is annoying because I will forget to get it back when I leave. Great idea but frustrating execution.

Terrible app

If you want to do sports, it is better that you pay a little more in the gym than use this application. It gives a lot of mistakes. To register I took 3 days because it is not easy and it has many errors on the page. If you have any questions, customer support is lousy. For you can to enter at the gym, you need to do to check-in at the gym door. The best of all is that it also gives mistakes and if that day you got up early to play sports, they are sorry but you have to go home because you didn't get to check-in . I have not seen a worse application in my life. I do not recommend it at all.

Shady business, stay away!

Really terrible service. I started my gympass the beginning of this year, then soon after Covid hit so was unable to go to the gym anymore. Gympass continued to charge me a monthly fee which I thought was slightly scummy considering it was physically impossible to use their service.
After realising I was getting charged, I paused my account (which only allows you to pause for it a maximum amount of time - 2 months i think). When my pause was coming to an end, I decided to just cancel my account as it doesn't look like I'll be able to goto the gym for a while now and it's not convenient having to re-pause it every few months. The website said my account was cancelled so I thought that was the end of it... today I got an email saying my account was reactivated and I'd been charged. I spoke to online support and they said it was a mistake and cancelled my account again and said I'd get my refund in 15 working days. We'll see if it's actually been cancelled next month.
All in all, seems like a shady company that hopes customers don't notice them continuing to charge them. The only positive i've experienced is that the online chat is quite responsive.

Great idea. Terrible service

Aside from my local gym not being able to understand the app. Added a family member which they were then charged an amount unexpectedly. Contacted regarding this and in the small T&Cs they claim ‘third party processor’ will take an amount. So they are covered. Don’t have any faith they’ll do anything right and will just point you to a hidden T&Cs page to cover them for anything. Reading the other comments I was unsure using but 100% avoid!

Never works and they refuse refunds

App never works or crashes all the time and you have to update the thing all the time or email the support team to resolve the problem (if you’re lucky) or you have to hope the gym themselves are reasonable. Not to mention during COVID if you ask for a refund they bore you to death Witt nonsensical emails but strategically avoid answering the question you ask them....it’s the reps that keep them in shape at this you see. Best avoid in my opinion and use another provider. Threes hundreds of them nowadays. Good luck guys.

Top of the notch

Really easy to use gym pass service. Register and you have access to gym around your areas to choose from and you can decide which one to go anytime and anywhere that is within your membership subscript. Love it and highly recommended!

Good concept, some terrible flaws

We went to a gym with my 15 month old to take him for a swim. We have been told previously to check-in outside the building as there is no signal. We checked in, then when we got there were told it wasn’t a time we could have a baby in the pool so had to leave. Thinking that this was the time for Gympass to shine, we promptly made our way to another gym with a pool! When we got there, we couldn’t check-in due to the fact we already had at the first gym! I phoned customer service who extremely rudely & bluntly told me that we couldn’t check-in anywhere else due to our first check in. This was a complete headache especially. Terrible customer service, the woman I spoke to took the issue to heart & did not apologise for the inconvenience at all. She was very stand-off-ish.

Great concept. Doesn’t work

This is potentially a great concept. However, when I arrived to my chosen gym, I checked in on the app and showed the lady at the counter. She had never heard of the app and couldn’t find it on the computer system. She kindly set me up with a card for the gym and let me go in anyway... but that is irrelevant. The membership didn’t work and was pretty embarrassing. I am also unable to book onto any gym classes in the Bristol area ever and the app is pretty slow. I swiftly cancelled my membership when I got home and will be signing up through the gym privately now.

Fraud company

Please read carefully, I had contract gym pass about 6 months ago, 3 months ago I have spoken with them and decided to cancel the contract. They have stopped to take payment 2 months ago and suddenly after 2 months they are starting to take payment. When I inform them they said they haven’t any records for cancellations. I have evidence for that and I am going to claim about it.
Please don’t trust them and don’t pass your information to them.

Awful app

Before I signed up to my preferred membership I was able to view classes in my area. However, when I paid for my membership classes no longer appeared therefore I couldn’t book in. I contacted customer service and told them about the issue, they are aware of this problem but have not done anything to fix this issue. I currently feel I am paying money for membership which doesn’t let me access all of the perks. I will be cancelling this month and unlikely to use gym pass again.

Agree with other negative comments

Slow and glitchy! Search function needs a lot of work. General browsing is not intuitive; so many confusing class categories - and no way of telling which category the class you’re interested in falls in to even if you find that class through other means (eg gym search) so you can’t use a category search to find more of the same / similar things nearby or elsewhere.

This is nightmare, slow and ‘jumps’ between screens

App is slow when I want to check in to the class. Talking in mind that ‘smart check in’ is the main function of the app, you should work on it. Even with good WiFi speed connection app hangs first and then check in after few minutes. Sometimes restart of the app is required.
Search and gym browser is slow too. Plus you use Dev version of google map and this is against the licensing agreement soooo instead of map I see message from google that preview is not available for this very reason. Not nice experience for the user.
Also when user selected one gym, looked at details and then wanted to browser more on the app, screen jumps back constantly to firstly selected gym.
Favourites doesn’t work. I tried so many times and it keep forgetting them.
I use it because I pay membership negotiated by my corpo.
