This app has been fantastic for my 11 yr old daughter. It gives her the freedom to feel independent whilst still letting me keep in control and monitor her spends. The app can be a bit fiddly at times and a little difficult to navigate especially when you are at the till and quickly realise you might need to authorise a payment or add new funds but I think it’s because there are so many features (all great) that it can be a little tricky to get directly to the one you need.

Everything you want in a debit card for kids
Best kids debit card out there without stupid monthly subscription prices! The kids can do pretty much everything I can, including online payments. Smart safeguarding features such as one time use CVC and a cap on how many times they can tap their contactless. Full control over the accounts from the parent app too. Gives the kids independence and responsibility over their money. I also like how when you put money into their accounts you can label what it is for or who it is from!

Frozen for no reason
We have previously used Go Henry but decided to get Rooster money but are finding it very frustrating.
The contactless reset can’t be bypassed and because my daughter uses this for school lunches everyday and it keeps getting declined.
Also, I’ve reset it and it’s still not working even with the pin so she’s now unable to pay for her school lunch. Checked the app and there’s no reason why it’s not working.
Have never had any issues with Go Henry in the 2 years we’ve been with them.

Brilliant app!
It’s a great way to give pocket money to the kids. They have reached an age where they need a bank card to buy things. Money is a pain to withdraw every week and a recent school trip to Legoland where my son couldn’t buy anything with his money as it was cash only, proved we really needed to get a card. It’s a great way to get them to do their chores - after weeks of nagging my daughter to tidy her room - day 1 of having the app, she tidied her room without any complaining. I’d like to be able to add chores “every other day” or on certain days of the week rather than just daily or weekly so it’s not perfect but I do highly recommend. Great it’s free to NatWest users too.

Cannot recommend this enough. Works on phone and tablet - meaning my child is able to manage money whilst I supervise. You have the option to have as much or as little control as you would like. I’ve been using Rooster for about three months now, it’s a great introduction to savings and specific savings for something special and just money in general, earning it and spending wisely. Hopefully my son will be much more financial stable than I was when I first had the responsibility of spending within your means

Pocket money app for a cashless world!
Great app for getting my son to earn pocket money for doing little chores around the house. Helps him understand he can’t just expect to be bought things he wants. He loves knowing he’s earned some money and can spend it on his choice of magazine, toy, app or game. Easy to add and remove money related to chores and extras. Money can be gifted by friends and family for birthdays and Christmas. He can choose to save towards goals. Can also earn stickers for other non-monetary rewards. Useful for trying to get a 7yo to start understanding the value of money! The card is easy to use in shops and online.

Love this app so much
We have just started using rooster money and really impressed with all its features, options and educational resources. Our children are 9 and 6yrs old and previously have opted out of helping with chores. Now they can see a detailed list, schedule of when they need to complete them by but more importantly teaching them to be responsible. They love the fact that they are earning money (we don’t pay anywhere near the recommended pocket money rates) teaching them about saving and budgeting. Have recommended this to our friends and family.

This is a fantastic way to start teaching my boys about money. My eldest is 10 and can have the app on his phone with his own view to help manage his money. I have a parent view to manage money between both my boys, my youngest is 7. Topping up money to the parent account is easy and quick and I can then split it between their cards/account easily too. My boys love the independence this brings them when out at the shops. They can tap their card to pay and feel grown up whilst learning this transaction means their account now has less money.
Great motivation to save too, they can watch their balance grow. This gives them a real tool to learn decision making, save or spend!

Love this card: So easy to use and i still have full control over childs spending without him really knowing. So much better my child taking card with him to school rather than cash (kids can be easily targeted) and shows him that card in most cases is better to have than cash… no lose change in pockets or bag to lose.. or worse still notes kids and money dont go in most cases. Great for independence
We decided on rooster, by our 11 year old coming and asking us for a bank card, like her friend (bit of peer pressure there) we had been looking around for a place where she could keep her spending money, and actually use it, without having us to purchase stuff online, then she’d pay us back in cash, it’s given her a load more independence, but we can still track what she’s spending, and where (99p on balloons? 😂) we are still in the free months trial, but overall it’s been easy to use, easy to navigate, easy to set up. Just need to add some chores I think!

Great app and well set up for kids, I ordered a card less than 48hrs ago and it’s already arrived (30hrs). It has all the functions that you need for your children, such a better way of banking for kids until they are 17 and it gives them the ability of using a card and controlling there own money with the help of parents overview.
As they don’t leave school until there 18 I would like to see the age updated to 18 but maybe I’m being picky? Just a thought though.
All in all I can’t praise NatWest enough on this, this is whiny I have always banked with them.

Brilliant until a deposit failed
This is a great card and app for teaching children how to manage their money. So far, everything worked well - easy to transfer money to parent account, and from there to the child. Good dashboard and info on the app. However, today 2 transfers to the parent account failed - my grandson is away from home and needed the money urgently. I phoned the bank and was told they were not aware of a problem but someone would phone or email me back. Nearly an hour later - no call or email. I did, however also open a chat online and got a response about an hour later to say there’s a problem with bank transfers and for now, I can deposit using a debit card. Don’t the different departments talk to each other? One said there’s no problem, the other said there is. And waiting this long for a call back to tell me how to help my young grandson is really not acceptable. Think I’ll be looking elsewhere, sadly. Yesterday I’d have rated the card and app 5 star, but it’s when things go wrong that companies prove how good they really are - and this was not good!!

Great communication, great app and easy to use
I tried to get a rooster card for my daughter, but as I use my middle name rather than my legal forename, I was struggling to link my bank account, but not realising why.
Out of the blue I received an email from a real person at Rooster Money, telling me the issue with linking my account and advising that I could add a secondary manager of the account for the person whose bank account I was trying to link. I emailed back and explained, and they went ahead after an email exchange, and changed my name in the app so that the account would link.
I’m excited to teach my daughter about finances, while also giving her money for the bus each week, and regular pocket money transfers every other week for her to spend herself or save, but not having to put change in her hand every day, because I don’t carry cash as a rule. The fact that it’s linked to my account, which makes her card free rather than a £20 charge each year, makes it even better.
Thank you Rooster Money for giving me the tools. Now if only you could personalise the card, which was the main selling point for my daughter of the “Go Henry” card, it would be perfect!

A GREAT IDEA
Kids should be able to manage their activities appropriately, Rooster money is fabulous, I am glad I have found it. I am very confident that my little girl will be able to manage her finances at an early age, the features in the application are so helpful that will teach my daughter to make wise decisions about expending, saving, shopping or even given(donor). She will start a new journey going to Secondary School, here is where Rooster comes in at the right time. Basically, the way I see it is a new transition from pocket money to real finance experience, she will earn every penny for as long “chores “have been completed, good school reports will boost her finances because her efforts will be rewarded, family members can pop in too , so they can also contribute to the pot. Is great, honestly I though about it and I was thinking in something else but gladly I come across Rooster money. Great stuff.

Great initiative
Myself and my children are enjoying Rooster. Its simple and easy for us all to use. They are old enough to understand the concept of saving, working and earning. Its not a distraction from cash as they understand the value of money. Lots of negative comments on social media which are not fair. My children understand money budgetting and saving. This app gives us a fun way of doing all this but also gives them a sense of responsibility. We are enjoying it. I would like a way to delete chores when done in error or no longer required. At the moment it seems you can only ‘skip’ them. Id like to swipe and delete them.

In principle a good idea, but
I recommend giving a card like this to a child it teaches them about Money, budgeting etc and also a good sense of independence.
The app is ok, isn’t always easy to find what you need and having to reset contactless every 5 transactions is both annoying but also embarrassing for Children when their card is declined even if they can put the card in the machine. Equally the annual fee seems a bit excessive, I’d prefer something that either rewarded good money behaviours I.e keeping a balance above a certain level, more than X Amount paid in over the year or at most £10 annual fee. Service is pretty good though although they are a bit weird when it comes to PayPal.

This card makes my life simple a few clicks and boom the little lady’s have there money that they can use straight away. They can either save with coaching tips from Rooster or they can buy what ever they like with in reason. No more having to touch money and no more forgetting to bring the pocket money home. I set task which they must complete and they can see what they have to do for their pocket money simple. Brilliant app for managing my kids pocket money
I love this app as it’s set to put their pocket money into their ‘virtual account ‘ each week automatically which saves me needing cash as I never have the right amount of cash on me. I love how I can also ‘boost’ their amount if they have been good or been given cash as a gift and equally I often deduct money if they have failed to do something. My kids often refer to the app to see how much money they have and work out how much more they need to buy something in particular, so they are starting the learn the value of money .

Works great for my kids!
Bought into Rooster as an alternative to other kids online savings as I needed something to motivate chores and combine with pocket money or treats. My youngest is 10 and I quickly and easily set up her daily chores list with a monthly chore in order to ‘top up’ her pocket money. It’s worked like a dream as she loves confirming her jobs and watching her money pot grow. We’ve talked about saving instead of spending and she’s got a saving pot going too. The treats section is great too - I’ve tasked her with reading 7 books for an ice cream sundae and within 2 weeks she’s read 5 books - something Ive always really struggled to get her to do. I also have my 15 year old on the app with set daily chores and a monthly top up but because he has a debit card, he gets paid in ‘stars’ which I convert monthly into cash. I was so fed up of my kids getting pocket money with little or no earning but this app now motivates them to do stuff to help around the home. 5 stars all the way.

Excellent way of managing children’s money
I highly recommend the Rooster App. I have 2 children, they both keep an eye on their pocket money through the app and have a good understanding of how much they have, how much they need to save for the next item they want and how much they have spent. It has allowed my eldest (who has the card) to feel more independent and in control of their money. I used to be very haphazard about spending on the children, sometimes I’d say yes to things, sometimes not. Since Rooster, I give them a regular allowance that they spend how they want and they are learning to save and budget for the larger items.

Easy to use and great customer service
This is working brilliantly for both myself and my daughter. She loves seeing her savings pot and her card balance growing, and I'm loving how this is encouraging her to do more and more chores. It's rewarding for her and for us as parents.
The customer service provided for a query I had was both speedy and extremely helpful.
This card was also the most reasonable in price too. I did a lot of research and this came out top when I was choosing which card to go with. We have certainly not been disappointed and would highly recommend this card.

Outstanding Money App for kids
After much web browsing and research - this was by far the best product out there. It allows us to track exactly where and what our two children are spending their well earned money on. They are 10 and 13yrs old. The App offers so much more than merely tracking cash transactions; it allows them to understand the value of money and the benefits of earning their own money. My 3 children and I have been using the Rooster app for a number of years now and I highly recommend it. It’s a safe way to give your kids access to money and start them on a learning journey about managing money. You can incentivise them by awarding payment for chores and set savings targets for them to treat themselves.
As a parent, I have full control over how much they can spend and how eg you can restrict their use to online payment only or ATM withdrawals only or both.
This is a great product to set your children on an early path of financial planning and independence.

A must have app
Rooster provides parents with a great platform for teaching children about money. I’ve had it since it first came into the App Store. I use it to link my kids allowance to chores. That’s great. Work = reward! Where this app really steps things up is in allowing the kids to set goals for saving. Yes, saving!!! Mine have embraced this concept fully, and are now almost near their target for a new Xbox. Then there’s the bank card. A basic payment card so my children can buy things with their own money. So, in summary, this is a fantastic tool for kids to learn about money in a responsible and meaningful sense.

Love Rooster!
Just swapped from a similar children’s prepay card provider and can’t believe the additional functionality on this card. Biggest love is for the ability to load my child’s card as many times as I like from my parent account. The number of free loads to the parent account seems perfect to me. The chore facility, fantastic; great motivation for the children to earn a bit more money and now with reminders too! The spend alerts are super, enabling me to help my child to manage their money wisely. So thanks Rooster, I am so delighted we joined you; I have already recommended you to family and friends.

Great app! Easy to use for adults and kids!
Got this for my 9 year old! He loves it and with a bit of tough love is understanding the value of money and has made some great decisions for his own spending and his own task completion.
He really enjoys the feeling of his charity giving too, such a great idea which gives kids responsibility and understanding.
Easy to use as separated parents in different countries too, so we can both provide pocket money and pause it in the other persons absence. Great as well as during pandemic has meant grandparents/aunts have been able to gift to my son directly rather than send cash.
I’ve recommended this app to 4 people so far! All are very impressed by it.

Great Service and Flexibility
The Rooster Card account is a really useful tool for teaching younger children about good money habits. My 8 year old is able to set saving goals, move money into a digital money box and save for charity donations. The app is very easy to use and my daughter really likes the option to move money to her debit card for spending: she clearly feels grown up with a card. As a parent I can set automatic weekly allowance transfers, which is far more convenient for me. I can also offer incentives for extra pocket money for extra ‘chores’. All in all great value for what you get, compared with other comparable services.

Brilliant
I only have the free service (I would rather be giving the money to the children than a bank service if I can) but this has been brilliant for me and for my 2 kids alike (age 8 and 10). I have always been useless at making sure I have cash to give them any kind of regular pocket money so have researched my options and this seems to be the best one for us at the moment. My eldest loves being able to set a target and see himself getting closer to it and it is great to be able to reward them on here when we feel they really deserve it. They are alerted whenever they are awarded with more ‘money’ and this is a huge motivator. If I felt I had the funds to, I would definitely consider the paid facility as the free version is ‘virtual’ money, which (once I am able to contact my bank to set up a new account for them both) I intend to work alongside their own bank accounts.

Great app for pocket money and chores
This app is great for teaching the kids about ‘earning’ their pocket money and also means I’m not just nagging them to do chores. If they don’t do them, they don’t get paid! They love being able to track their money, see it build up, and then use their own card in the shops and online. I was initially unsure about the value of paying for the service, but I think I have got the money back and more by not buying things for the kids all the time - if they want sweets, magazines etc, they have to buy themselves, which also makes them think about the value of things and whether they are worth it. Really recommend. Kids aged 9 and 7.

Best present we ever gave to our granddaughter
We wanted to give our granddaughter monthly pocket money without handing over cash which would pressure her into saying thank you each time. Rooster has allowed us to give her money each month on the same day, just like a wage, to teach her to budget. We have set our account to move money from our bank account to our Rooster ‘parent’ account on the 27th of each month and then into her account on the 28th. Our granddaughter knows she is getting ‘paid’ because her rooster app gives her a countdown to pay day, (I didn’t know this) and she looks forward to it. It was a little tricky to set up as the whole app is geared towards parents rather than grandparents. I am not too good with technology but found the chat line incredibly helpful. I had so many questions and although they said they would get back to me in a few hours it was actually just a few minutes. In these times of contactless payments I am really happy that she now has a card and doesn’t have to carry cash around with her. I honestly cannot recommend Rooster highly enough.

Great Pocket Money App
We've been using this app for several years now. I have two (now teenage) daughters and I always struggled to remember to pay them their pocket money every week or did not have the cash needed. This app allows you to set an amount and it adds it weekly to the child's account. The kids can then decide if they want to allocate some of the money to a specific goal, keep it in the save pot or in the spend pot. We have started proper bank accounts for them and when they have a larger amount saved, I transfer it to their real bank account. I think RoosterMoney offers some kind of debit car as well but we chose not to do it.
I recommend this app to all parents who want their children to start handling their own money. It's really easy to use and the support is excellent.

Can’t praise the service enough.
Safe - kids can have financial limits & restrictions on spend/retailers/atm withdrawals etc. Card can be temporarily frozen if lost, or permanently if never found.
Management - kids can learn how to manage money in a safe setting, with “save”, “give” & “spend” options for money management
Earn - kids can earn pocket money from helping around the house with their chores, or getting good grades, shows them the value of money & makes them less spoilt/self entitled.
I have recommended to all my friends, especially since Covid, as cash is less desirable in stores. 100% best thing I’ve done getting these cards for my kids.

Disappointed
My son uses Rooster car for few months. I expected better service than what I am actually getting. I did twice bank transfer from my sons account to the parent account and then from the parent account to my bank account. The two transactions were cancelled. I received an email as I respond to my email from a staff member confirming that I wouldn’t be charged because technically I have not transferred any money to my bank account however my first transaction to go through I was charged 50p I really don’t know why I have been charged 50p as you said in your policy that I can do two transactions two transactions free of charge. Technically the transaction that I completed on the 18th of September 2020 is my first transaction so I’m not sure why I have been charged understand that I did another two transactions which for some reasons on your system did not go through. Plus many times I put deck right log on details on the app and the system keeps telling me incorrect login details. I hope the service can be improved and be more professional than it is right now as I am thinking to cancel this card it doesn’t cause anything but only stress.

So good!
I love this that you can put chores on for your kids and then give them money for it! It’s basically the new chore board on tech! If you read bad reviews on it ignore it this is amazing you can put any chore on there any money that you want up to any number I’m guessing! 😹and you can make the child’s profile and they can choose if they want to either save give or even have a goal of their choice save is literally just saving and give is like giving to a charity that the parents will sort out after the kid has put it in goals are choices like a phone that they want to have or a tablet iPad anything really you can have pictures of the chore the child it’s name next to the picture and even you can have a profile! Anyway I’m not going to talk about this amazing app all day but please download it

Good motivator
I decided to use this as an aid for my 12 year old daughter as I wanted to introduce regular chores for her to complete. Both her & I are able to access the jobs and you can add your own or use the generic ones already listed. They can also be daily or any day and also the choice is given if doing the chore is directly linked to getting money or stars (you can set this up in the start up menu). If I’m feeling particularly jobsworthy I can give her only a percentage of her allowance directly attributed to how many jobs she has completed. This way she has a visual of whether she has been good with her chores or lost focus. She can set up goals to save for, or separate her money into spend or save and the card is directly linked. This way SHE is paying for things herself and not relying on me. A very good lesson for her to understand about debit cards. I can’t rate this highly enough. It has been invaluable.

Great App and first debit card for kids
This has been a great app for our 2 kids to “bank” their birthday/Christmas money gifts in one place and be able to budget for desired things in the “goals” section. Our 7 year old has loved managing the ownership of her own money and the ability to spend it in normal shops with her Rooster debit card. It has been very useful to be able to top up their accounts with real money for chores and other noteworthy good behaviour. Rooster has replaced the marble jar we used to have and is teaching our 2 the real value of money. Our 5 year old got a little upset when he saw his account dip in value after he went on a £5.50 spending spree on a pencil case in Smiggle but it’s taught him about how savings and spending of money go hand in hand. I thoroughly recommend this app as it will make your life easier by not having to remember how much of Grandma’s Christmas money has been spent for each child ever again!

Great features, lovely app, and you can try it without committing
The concepts aren’t new of course but the way Rooster delivers them is a real breath of fresh air - the app is a delight to use and the kids love it too.
It’s got everything right - tips to get you up and running, slick interaction, it’s just lovely.
The thing that clinched it for me - the reason I downloaded - was the ability to turn it into a ‘real money card’ account LATER, i.e I could use the app as a pocket money tracker now, and if I like it, I can upgrade to using cards, which is what I *want* to do but have always found it a bit of a leap of faith with other providers.

Excellent app, with a kids contactless charge card!
We use Rooster for our 9 year old so he can earn money doing chores, which even helps to get him in bed on time! I like that we can add repeat tasks, such as making his bed and set them to regular repeat days, and then add one off tasks such as mowing the lawn, washing up etc which can happen on different days. He can then use his rooster card to order things online for his PC and games etc. I also like that he can monitor his account from his tablet. It is really easy to use and we’ve even added his Granny who can pay him for chores when he’s visiting.
My only minor gripe is that despite having all the notifications on, if you have a daily task (such as making his bed), it doesn’t remind you to approve it each day. So if I forget for a couple of days it automatically pays his allowance as a percentage of what I’ve approved, so he gets under paid. Now don’t get me wrong it’s quite easy to top up by the missing amount, but it would just be useful if a time limit could be set on a task and then send a notification if you haven’t approved by this time. Obviously this needs to be optional as some parents won’t be as forgetful as me!
Otherwise this is a great app and highly recommended to anyone wanting a really good allowance app for their kids with a charge card!
We’re going to add his younger sister next so she can earn stars until she’s ready for an allowance.

It works!
We’ve only been using Rooster for 2 weeks now but it really does seem to work! Kids get 1 star every time they do something lovely or are really helpful & then on Sat morning they receive 10p for each star as pocket money. I’ve had them emptying the dishwasher, taking out the rubbish, putting away their clothes..all useful life skills they need to learn anyway...but they can also lose stars for bad behaviour..& they have done..!! They’re 8 & 6 - the right age to have a little more responsibility &, as the youngest is now learning about currency at school, a good age to introduce the value of money. Thank you, Rooster, we love the app!

Excellent
Got the Rooster card for my 11year old daughter and she loves it, the app interface is easy to use and they supply a excellent service if u have any issues, my daughter had been trying to take money out from a cash machine and it kept getting declined, I informed the help service on the app and got a reply in about 3 minutes which informed me I had not allowed this option on the card settings and that’s how to fix it.
An excellent service provided by Beth I must say, quick and easy in app help allowed the issue to be fixed quick allowing my daughter to enjoy the rest of her day, easy way to add money to the account using transfer and setting up standing orders for a regular monthly allowance, it also has a lot of options to help educate your child by awarding them money when certain tasks are complete, setting goals for more expensive items they want. Thank you Beth and thank you RoosterMoney for this excellent service 👍👍👍👍👍

I love Rooster!
What a great idea! My kids (aged 13 and 10) love having their own card and have already changed their attitude to money - weighing up whether they really want something or not before buying it. I love how they can see their balance on screen so it makes it ‘real’ and a doddle to keep track of. I read Ken Honda’s ‘Happy Money’ recently and the Rooster card really supports the theory. The customer service is outstanding! My daughter put in the wrong PIN recently (more than once!) and I was immediately contacted by Weronika to check everything was ok. The card was instantly frozen but then unfrozen as soon as I informed them she had made a mistake so it was no hassle at all to get it working again. The service was friendly, fast and personal - thank you Weronika! Beth also contacted me with a kind message to check everything was sorted out. I have already recommended Rooster to several of my friends and will continue to do so. Thank you, Rooster!

Kids love it
I love this app and so do the kids! The kids check what they have to do every day and do it. (I could never get them to do chores before, but now they do willingly!) they also keep their bedroom tidy as they want their weekly allowance! It’s also teaching them money management too which is great! They pay me 10p a week in rent and other regular outgoings they have to manage. The only thing I really dislike and would suggest a change is I can’t view and change the chores my kids have been set. My kids also like to view their weeks chores so if they have time they can get them done early: but there isn’t an option for that. This would improve the app a lot in my opinion. Also maybe to add a bills pot would be good or a regular pot so they can put money in there separate from their spend save and goals etc.

Deserves more stars, and they’re working on it.
Got this app to help save the arguments on pocket money day over what chores where completed when and in time. It also had an attachment to contact less pre-paid card function that was ideal for my daughter and mine situation. I’d looked elsewhere at other cards but they had hidden charges and from my research less control than the RoosterMoney Card. I really like the app and the idea. The support is excellent I wish my bank was as fast to respond and support me as the RoosterMoney team are! I’d give it a higher score but the app has the odd quirk that needs ironing out, but they are working on it. I’ve seen two updates in the past month fixing some of them, but she need more for more stars. I do recommend this app and it’s additional features but only to people that have the patient to help the RoosterMoney team improve this app.

Great app
This is a great app to manage the kids money. Although it’s sort of like virtual money, any birthday or Xmas money would go into our bank accounts and held for the kids. If we were out shopping and they wanted to buy something , we would just go onto the app and remove from their spending pot. It’s totally free and they can manage and see what they have on their own devices. The great thing is being able to remove money for bad behaviour, reward behaviour or just boost their funds. They receive a message and a reason for the money being put in or taken out. You can set a monthly pocket money allowance and set up a savings pot to work towards something they want to buy. I’ve used this for years. My kids are now old enough for their own bank account with debit card but this is the first step to managing their money.

Great App for teaching children about money
We have been using Rooster for a month or so now after being recommended by a friend. The set up is simple, both my daughters now have a spend and save account that they can and do track daily. Once we got the tasks set up the girls quickly got into the swing of making sure they were done and sending them for approval each week, even asking for extra tasks they can do like taking the bins out and washing the car. You just have to be careful as you can end up owing them a fortune!
Both girls now have a couple of goals they are aiming for which is really showing them the power of saving for those larger items.
We are really enjoying using Rooster and have already recommended it to friends at home and abroad.

Brilliantly Motivating!
We’ve been using Rooster Money for just a few weeks but we love it - and so do our boys (7&5yrs). The app has captured their imagination and they have been willing to partake in activities to support our family unit in order to qualify for their weekly allowance understanding that we all have jobs to complete and a part to play.
They have set goals - and actually decided to work together on one big goal to achieve it faster - and have also understood that mid week magazines, football cards, etc will be deducted from their allowance. They love controlling where their money goes and enjoy seeing the savings build - they have both emptied and turned over the contents of their money boxes to me to add it to their Rooster accounts!
I can see how it is giving them a real and tangible appreciation of money, and personal responsibility and I have already recommended it to many friends and family.

Great Way To Track Money
RoosterMoney is a great app that allows children to easily track and save up their money. It includes a Spend Pot, where you control how much money you’re allowed to spend; a Save Pot, which allows you to count the money you’ve saved up; a Goals Pot, where you decide what you want to spend your money on and save up to buy that; and a Give Pot, where you choose a charity and raise money to give to that charity. The app also tells you how much money you’ve saved up altogether, and transfer money between different pots. It will let you control weekly allowances, adding an amount of your choice on a day of your choice either weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. Overall, this is a great app and is very useful.

Fantastic app for us and the kids
Tracking the kids cash was a nightmare. First of all I’d forget to give them pocket money every week, then if they had birthday money sometimes they would give it to me for safekeeping, sometimes not, but the most difficult thing was that when we were at the shops and hadn’t planned to spend they didn’t know how much they had, we’d try to remember and end up buying it for them with the promise to be paid back, sometimes which was forgotten. It was just a minefield.
From the kids perspective my son was a saver. Great. But my daughter (8) spent everything she had the second she had it on tat and then got upset when she couldn’t afford bigger things.
So - rooster money....
pocket money goes in automatically each week. Never forgotten
They both get extra boosts for homework on top which I can label as what homework it is so I can check if I think I’ve forgotten
When all the money is gone the kids (mostly my daughter) can check their statement to see what they have spent it on
When we are out shopping they know exactly what they have to spend and shop accordingly
I can check the statement to see if we’ve taken out money for the things they have bought as we always label items with what they were spent on
Oh - and my daughter now saves because she can see the money going up and set targets for things she wants.
It’s simple but it works and has changed the way we and the kids handle money.

Perfect app for kids
I don’t know about you but I rarely have change in my pocket these days. With contactless cards and the ability to pay for things with your phone the way we pay for things has changed forever and with it the way that children see money has changed. This app helps bring pocket money bang up to date to reflect the world in which we live. The app is fine should you not wish to upgrade to PLUS but is so much better with it in my opinion. I tried a few similar apps before I downloaded rooster money if you were to give it a try I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

This app is brilliant!!
This app has changed our lives! It is so user friendly. We have struggled in the past to keep track of pocket money and have tried lots of different methods. Being able to set up a regular pocket money payment to our kids is fantastic and ensures we never forget. The app has also allowed us to ensure certain chores are completed in order to be awarded their pocket money. If they don’t complete them, we are given the option to award all, some or none of their money. In addition, they can earn extra pocket money by completing other chores. We have set up regular payments so the kids are aware of money that regularly comes out such as playing x box online. The kids regularly save for goals too. My older kids love to log on themselves and sign off chores and look at their progress. I cannot fault the app. It is brilliant and I highly recommend it to everybody I meet. Well worth the extra payment for the full benefits.

Highly disappointing
I can’t help but think this is one of those apps that relies on subscriptions were people forget they have it. As a parent I don’t want my children on devices every day and sadly this app relies on that so that they can tick off chores. If your kids are of an age where they are connected to a devise then perhaps this has more use but once a day has gone there is no way to go back and tick off a daily chore. As such if you, like us do not want your child attached to a devise it quickly becomes high maintenance to manually calculate back payments. Annoyingly, we haven’t used the app for months and have only just realised we have been charged £1.99 for a number of months when we only upgrade to trial the service (its barely functional unless you upgrade. Don’t get sucked in like us... if you upgrade to trial it, remember to cancel it as otherwise it’s going to cost you 😞

Perfect app for tracking what your kids have.
I was looking for an app that would help us keep track of how much money our two kids had to spend whilst at the same time allowing them to understand better the value of money. Kids get money all the time from family and friends and even more so for birthdays and Christmas and keeping track of how much they have is impossible because usually the money is passed to the parent for safe keeping. This is fine but you never know exactly how much they have. Now with this app all money they get goes into the app and we (the parents) hold the actual cash, then when they want something that is over and above what you as the parent should be buying it is taken out of their funds. This educates then into understanding the value of money and that it is not an infinite resource. My kids get a weekly pocket money top up and boosts by Mam and dad when they do good in school or with extra curricular activities. Best of all the accounts are linked so anyone with access to the account can see when money is added or removed. Best of all? It’s free.
