Charged twice- for the second time!

Two occasions have been charged twice for my booking. To make it worse I’ve been issues with a voucher for the refund and not been given the cash back. They have a ‘frequently asked questions’ and one of which is- have you been charged twice? Suggesting this happens often. So frustrating.

Holiday Extras - way to go

I always use them for parking and hotels when going abroad - why? Firstly you can cancel right up to last minute this was great during COVID and a couple of times when I have been ill. Secondly they are excellent value. You don’t have to search around it’s all there with options to choose from. Thirdly you can get fast track, lounges etc all at same time with just a click. Lastly they are very helpful if you have a duh moment and make a mistake or cannot find something. Worth every star 🩷

Great

I have used HE’s a couple of times now to book parking, transfers and airport lounges. Not only are they often the cheapest they are also reliable, the transfers have always been stress free with great communication for both journeys. This is great as you are not worrying that you’ll miss your flight home.

The app doesn’t work. I press log in and a blank screen comes up. I press account and a blank screen comes up. I feed back and no one replies. So I have paid for travel insurance but can’t access it! Not great.

Indirect flights

The app doesn’t seem to allow you to input indirect flights, so that it was assumed that our final destination was where we are flying to from Manchester when, in fact, we have a connecting flight. Our return flight IS direct but the app assumes we are flying back from the outbound connecting airport.

Refunds?

Accidentally booked airport parking twice so cancelled one and asked for a refund. They would only give me vouchers to the value of the refund. I probably won’t have another holiday for 2 years. Why should they keep £150 of my money? No possibility of speaking to someone!

Car Damaged - inefficiency / lack of responsibility

My car was damaged while parked with a recommended operator, despite evidence showing it happened on their watch. Both HolidayExtras and the operator refuse to take responsibility. Attempts to resolve this have been met with inefficiency. The costly damage to my Range Rover necessitates action; legal recourse is being considered. I urge HolidayExtras to address this matter urgently and reevaluate their customer service practices.

Car registration

It impossible to enter car registration, as soon as I entered the first two letters it wouldn’t let me enter any numbers. As soon as I attempted to amend this the field was deleted and I had to start again and so entering a loop that was impossible to get out of. When I eventually completed the page with incorrect Registration, so I could proceed, I went back to amend the car details and the site had the gall to state it would not charge me for the change. VERY frustrating and a complete waste of time.

Great app for all travel needs

I have only recently downloaded this app and have found it to be extremely useful for keeping all my trip needs in one place. Even my old bookings are shown. The only thing I cannot fathom is why a booking made for May 2024 shows up on the Trips page but doesn’t if I go into my Account page and click on Your Bookings although a booking for next month does show. Just seems a little strange but still a great app to have in your pocket.

Fast track not easy for all terminals

Great service, easy to use but no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get security fast track for Terminal 3 at Manchester Airport. It kept giving me for Terminal 2. In the end I purchased T3 fast track security from the airport direct. No complaints otherwise.

I’ve been trying for over a week to get my booking confirmation but constantly get an error message, went on live chat 5 days ago and they assured me the website and app would be fixed within 24 hours and here we are on holiday unable to get our return transfer info. We asked at all transfers desks when we got here and luckily our pre paid booking had got through so got here at least. We have used many times before with no issues. I think they have serious it issues or have been hacked. Atrocious and a worry you should not have on holiday.

Used this company last year, with no problem, however when to book this year with them I made a mistake with the date clicked pay now and they immediately took the payment from the card they had on file (no confirmation screen before)! Misleading

During the start of the pandemic, I had 2 trips booked . Nobody could of foreseen the effects of Covid however Holiday Extras and TUI ( 2 companies that I have used regularly for travels) were both dreadful with shocking levels of customer service. I had to get my local MP to write a letter to the CEO to ask for my refund as I was lied to and given false information and promises

I swore never to use both of these companies so I was devastated when I booked my airport lounge with a company that then identified them selves as H E only after payment. Even if HE was selling Lounges for £5 I would stay clear

Parking maple parking

I have just collected my car from meet and greet parking booked through holiday extras and am appalled at the state of my car, it is covered in mud and looks like it has been joy ridden in a field. The mud has impacted the car with such force it has scratched the paintwork. The dispatch manager was dismissive and more concerned about his hair than my complaint. He left another member of staff to deliver a hand written post it with an email address to complain to. Do not trust these jokers with your car.

I have used holiday extras for a number of years now and they make it just so easy to book those extra bits like hotels and parking the night before you fly. I once got caught in a motorway jam on way to Airport in London and blood pressure went sky high. Never again.

Absolutely awful from start to finish we was booked for no 1 lounge but this was still closed to holiday extras moved us to this 1 I can not say 1 good point about it !!

There was only 1 choose of larger none of the spirits was labelled they was all cheap brands !! There was 1 choose of a hot meal witch was some Chinise chicken then 1 vegetarian dish witch was macaroni cheese !! There was also cheese & biscuits I have been to many lounges & this is the most awful 1 I have been to 🤢 I have messaged holiday extras witch they have not got back to me about & also called them they have told me someone would get back to me but still waiting that’s 30 days ago !!

Appalling customer service

They will charge you for fast track through airport but dont tell you it’s only for specific terminals- even though they advertise the others! When you try to resolve it they are not interested at all and the customer service is appalling. The chat function doesn’t work and you can’t speak to an actual human. Travelling quite a few times a year, I’ve used Holiday Extras for a number of years and usually get an email sent offering a good discount. However, after booking our summer holiday for next year (2023) we received an email offering a discount but on trying to use it, it doesn’t give any discount at all. Why carry on sending the discount emails if you’re not going to give a discount?

Yet another cancellation

This company is amazing! I have cancelled many last minute holidays because of emergencies. We have now cancelled another one as my father in law is going into palliative care and as a nurse I try help a lot. Booked air parking on line via the website entering using my existing HE account. App unable to synchronise with my booking and show my voucher. Keeps trying to persuade me to complete another booking for a flight which I already have. Gave up and printed off voucher. Simple, Close and Reasonably Priced

I use they guys 3 times a year for longer stays normally about a month at a time, they take the stress out of off site parking and busing back in to the airport.

I find them reasonably priced very close to terminal, when they say 3 minutes away that’s if you walk really slow, and good prices.

Great service provider

Have used Holiday Extras a few times but will do so more in the future. We lost our last holiday when France stopped taking visitors and were offered refund straight away for hotel/car park. Poor for any complex requests

First time I’ve ever done a bad review of an app but felt necessary. This app seems to work great at first. Except it randomly goes onto a blank screen when you are trying to fill out forms (eg to book parking) so you have to close the screen and you go back to the start. Also, adding 2 cars to one booking function is poor - it takes your payment happily, but won’t show you or email you confirmation of that second car in the ‘my booking’ screen. So you have to contact them and check to get the booking details (now currently 49th in their app chat function, which also keeps going to a blank screen!!!!!). Painful

Amendment

Wanted to amend a booking and information on the vouchers said they can be applied when you reach the payment stage however a small amendment fee has been confirmed direct out of my credit card on file no big problem but no point in having vouchers if there is no system in place to use them I have just knocked another star off because I cannot send the review without endless attempts of creating a nickname

Can’t update my new reg plate in the app.

I used the app last year for parking when flying but had a different car to the one I now have.

So I went on to edit my details in the app for when I need to book for parking next time we fly.

There seems to be a glitch in the app that won’t let me change to my new reg number.

I type the first few letters/numbers and it just reverts straight back to my old reg number.

I’ve tried logging out and back in and also deleted and reinstalled the app but it still does the same thing. Annoying!!! Please fix this. Thanks.

Yesterday (12th July) I needed to make a change to my booking as I had inadvertently booked to drop off my car at the wrong terminal at Heathrow - I had two chats online to Zoe L and Beth and then spoke to one of your agents whose name I think was Jacob. They were so polite, friendly and customer focused on sorting my mistake and within minutes Jacob had cancelled my original booking and rebooked it with the correct details. Their individual levels of professionalism were impressive enough but I suspect that also evidences good staff training by Purple Parking. It’s so easy when you drop your car off, walk under 50 metres and then you are in the terminal and when you come back the car is already for you, no waiting for transfers to get your car back.

What an app

I rarely write reviews, but upon launching the Holiday Extra application I felt an overwhelming urge to do exactly that, and here I am.

30 seconds in I can say the app works brilliantly with no crashes. So simple to use even my dog could use it (he doesn’t even have thumbs)

Excellent service

We book here when ever we fly from Manchester, the last time we came was in October 2018 there was a mix up with our booking and it was handled excellent, where we were found another hotel at there cost ! Just brilliant

Useless App

The most unbelievably useless app. I made a booking and was then sent a text saying I could download this app to view it. Great I thought. But once downloaded I couldn’t log in. After a frustrating half hour of reset password requests I resorted to live chat where a very nice advisor told me that if I didn’t create an account during booking then I couldn’t do so until I made a new booking! What? No sign up, only login! So why send me the text I didn’t ask for in the first place? And why on earth can you not create an account afterwards and then add bookings? I’ve never come across anything like this before and can only rate it as a zero for wasting my time!

The update works!

Thanks for the most recent update, it’s massively helped our problems with our trips showing up when logged in. All round, great improvements and now it’s super easy to use and find everything in one place. Have spent hours playing the game too, have you thought about offering customers prizes for playing?

Easy start

This is great all the plus sides of Premier Inn with additional parking all together in one place.

Great for us as we regularly use early morning flights & don’t like to risk long travel in the early hours in winter time.

Helps us keep to our budget as well.

Great support

Getting to airport is always stressful, but this makes it easier.

Sometimes there can be a fairly long wait for bus when returning to the car!

I personally like the message service online if you have any concerns or changes you may be worried about.

Need to be clearer about where your car is going to be parked

Personally I am not happy about leaving my keys with car parks or valet parking companies when I'm on holiday. You never know what is happening to your car while you're away. It seems Holiday Extras only offer this type of service now. That's just not for me so I'll park with official car parks at airports from now on as I can keep my keys and enjoy my holiday, safe in the knowledge that some rascal isn't racing my nice car!

I would say that Holiday Extras have taken my concerns seriously though, so at least they have a good customer service department.
