Not sure who this app is for but if you want to check results for specific sports then this app isn’t for you.
No obvious way to find the results of a specific sport - you have to use the search. But if the event happened yesterday - it wont show. Rendering the app useless.
Its just a vehicle for IOC to sell things.

UX is a disaster
This app is really difficult to use. It needs way more design work and UX testing. Navigation is complicated and you can’t find info quickly.
If you click on a team or athlete, you’re stuck. There is no home button, so you have to keep hitting back to get anywhere. It’s just awful.

I want to be notified of events starting but I can’t watch all events live, so I don’t want to be told the result of other events before I watch it. Both of those notifications are wrapped up in one toggle switch! They should be separate to the user more control.

Still not working properly
For the love of God, PLEASE fix this app. It says you can’t read articles without signing up for a free account which I’ve done with Apple but then you login and STILL can’t read them. I’ve updated the app, closed it, restarted it and nothing helps. The account page is showing I’m logged in but I’m still getting told I need to login to finish reading the articles! And it’s also not clear what timezone the event times are referring to. The local time? Or the time in the country your account says you live in?
So poor to say the event is so close and the app is still a mess!

Automation doesn’t work
A really frustrating app. I just wanted to download and open it to see what’s happening and when at the Olympics and Paralympics. But you have to enter in personal details (invasive) and then get an access code sent yo your personal email address. I ensued my email address was corrected, and sent the code request 3 times, but nothing. Not in junk. I just ended up uninstalling the app. Just create an App everyone can access rather than going through hoops. The modern world is just too data driven and intrusive.

Update app again? 2 updates in less than 2 weeks = poorly planned design and bad project management. No excuse for this on a global stage esp. with the amount of money going through the whole thing. Showcase the best in sport and the worst in app design. It’s not like this is the first Olympics app either. So disappointing!
No, I don’t want to sign up, no I don’t want to be tracked, no I don’t want your cookies, no I don’t want you squeezing every drop of information out of me. Getting into this app was a series of hurdles and small print reading. Clearly not designed around the user experience and obviously prioritising the data grabbing agenda of sponsors and organisers. It seems political and commercial influences have no regard for what the Olympics stand for, instead using it as an excuse to further their own selfish interests.

Hard to navigate
Garbage I’m afraid. Really hard to navigate! When I open an app like this I want three initial choices - sports, calendar and medal table. It’s absolutely brutal to find a particular sport easily. Too much news and info on tickets etc. I’m at home! I want to find out the results of say the tennis last week - takes forever and still haven’t found them other than the gold medal winner!

Fantastic app
This is the best sporting app I’ve ever used. I regularly download apps for current sporting events such as the 4 tennis Slams and this Paris Olympics is by far the best I’ve used. It gives upcoming events by time, ongoing events and by putting in an earlier date, I can catch up on anything I might have missed. I’ve not encountered any bugs. Congratulations!

The app works fine but I won’t be watching anymore Olympic competition after the IOC allowed male boxers into the female competition.
They’re not “women with high testosterone” - they are males with DSDs & normal levels of testosterone for men. Let them try to qualify for the men’s competition.

Website is way better
Downloaded this before heading to the Olympics as it was recommended for visitors, although I have no idea why. The past few Olympics I’ve been using the official website to follow events and it’s just a much better experience, especially since you can have multiple tabs open and don’t need to scroll sideways. The app just stays blank (no error messages) if you have internet issues, and while I went through dozens of events every day to bookmark my top sports, it turns out you have to use the “favourites” setting to get notifications on any of them. If you navigate to an athlete’s page the navigation buttons disappear, and every time you go back to the schedule from an event the list jumps around. Poor design.

Buggy, with bizarrely woefully clunky interface. More interested in capturing personal data!
Interface unfriendly and chaotic! Apparently no thought given as user interaction. Have to really fight it to get any useful information. Much simply doesn't work - what does is buggy! Forced to create login or absolutely nothing works! Then, on top of all these, there are intrusive adverts!! Neither results nor alert notifications work, only 'broadcast-style' generalised notifications - seemingly when they feel like it.
Incidentally, the few 5* reviews appear entirely fake placements by the developers attempting to game the system.

I’ve been trying to use the app to keep up with the olympics.
Every time I try to go into something on the schedule I either get a blank white screen or it says “competition hasn’t started yet. Come back closer to the day/time of the competition”. This is coming up for events that have already happened & live events.

Clearly been thrown together on a low budget. Lacking any kind of customisation. Why can’t I select my country and get notifications when my competitors are involved or when they win a medal and see a schedule of when my country is involved. Why can’t I select favourite sports to see in a different view. The schedule is useless as it’s too big, it needs more control over settings beyond basic filters.

I have used the Olympics for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics the Winter Olympics in 2022 and now the Olympics in Paris this is a good app because it gives you up to date scores and what is going on around the city and it gives you accurate times what the events are happening and the tv channels we can whatch all of the best olympic and Paralympic events it also gives you a medal table for you to keep track and there is also lots of interesting videos if you make a free account on the Olympic games

Favourite Filter Not working
The favourite filter simply doesn’t apply, meaning you have to use the standard filter every time you log in. Very tedious. Otherwise it works fine but considering the app has three years to be developed at least it’s very poor. And considering how smooth Tokoyo’s app was it’s disappointing

Medal table v torch relay
Not sure if this is just because I started using the app yesterday (26/07) but centre of options at bottom of the screen switches between olympic torch relay and medal count when loading the app sometimes having to exit and re-enter the app for the opposite button to appear

The app is great to check what should I choose to watch on the TV. The only feature it misses is a filter for Live events. The red bar on the side is not enough. Am I missing it?

Bad Olympics app (as usual)
No landscape mode on iPad as others have said. No way to search for athlete info that I can find. Can’t filter by ‘all favourites’ so have to set bookmarks which then disappear randomly.
The most irritating thing is there’s no way to turn off results on the schedule (if anyone knows how, let me know!!) We can’t watch 20 events at the same time but using app to check event times means you see results for something you plan to watch later.

Waste of an app
It’s so difficult to find relevant info in this all. I don’t want news or updates on the Olympic flame relay, I want basic information on teams, athletes, scores, and schedules - but all that is hidden somewhere in sub menus and the interface isn’t user friendly.
No way to favourite athletes either, which seems a basic function. And while you can bookmark specific events, the app doesn’t send a reminder when they start. I don’t even know what the bookmarking does at all to be honest because there doesn’t seem to be a page with only bookmarked events.
So the app really is not very useable at all, which is disappointing for such a big event.

I downloaded the app ahead of the upcoming Olympic Games. Unfortunately, it’s not what I expected and has gone the way of many other tournament apps, and become a bite sized website or a digital magazine.
It’s clunky, conflicting, and doesn’t seem to concentrate on the Olympic Games, bit more
on the backgrounds of athletes or sports.

Great content but a little fiddly on a phone
UPDATE during paralympics. Why is the medal table ALWAYS so far out of date?? It’s currently well after end of Sunday’s sport but the medal table in the app does not show the current GB medal total? Reducing rating by one star.
There is a lot in the app. The breadth of content is great. It’s a little fiddly to use on a phone though. Not yet tried it on a tablet hopefully it’s a bit easier on there. But overall a great companion app

Best App for a sporting or music event ever
Really impressed with this app, that I have been using throughout the Olympics and now running in Paralympics mode. Very clear for scheduling, medals, headlines, with ability to set filters for teams and sports. The control over notifications for fav team and sports is excellent. Watching live score updates on sports like table tennis or basketball is as good as any live feed from major media channels. Really adds to the experience of these great sporting events.

Total waste
I hardly know where to start. You’re allowed to track only one national team. If you try to search for a specific team for a specific sport you get a cryptic error message saying it is not formatted correctly. The Home page says something like ‘oops something went wrong’. The results are not shown well. I clicked on a sport a got a lame explanation about it rather than the results. Utterly frustrating and useless user interface and implementation. Really poor in comparison to apps for soccer tournaments for instance. And it seems to want to know an awful lot about you. Amateurish and disappointing. :(
PS I submitted this feedback on 24 July. The developer responded on 9 August my time, after the final ceremonies. Again, frustrating. And the reply was on the order ‘we’ll look into it’ rather than ‘we fixed it’. If the app was going to be so poor and the developer response so late and lame, then why bother?

Good for total medal tally & not much else!
Not sure why they bothered putting the schedule button in it shows nothing. The medal tally shows the overall number won by your country but you can’t drill down to see which sport they were won in. The filter button is another useless addition having no functionality what so ever. They had an extra year to work on it too!

Frustrated by issues
I had expected the official app to be better than this. The schedule just shows a blank screen and that should be one of its most useful features. Likewise, searching through filters is meaningless. The medal table seems to be surprisingly behind the times (Home Screen shows country correctly, but Medals Table more often than not has different results showing!).

Where’s the info?
Schedule doesn’t work, how can we know what’s going on?
No breakdown on medals, for example if you clicked on the Gold Medal icon on any particular team I’d expect it to then show a list of the winning competitors and what sport it was. Same for silver and bronze would be good. The only thing that seems to work is the link for cultural attractions (or something like that) that isn’t even related to the Olympics or Sport in general.

Disappointing
Only allowed to track one national team? A limited number of favourite sports? No events reminders? What year are we in? The last one in particular has made watching the Olympics very hard. Seems like such an obvious feature to have, it's a shame it's not there. But they made sure there's an augmented reality thing and the current time taking space at the top of the home screen 🤦♂️
I hope we get a better app in four years time.

Most of the app doesn’t work
The app is good for checking the medals tally but that’s about it… even the medal tally doesn’t update properly sometimes - I need to close and reopen the app in order for it to update.
The schedule page doesn’t work at all though (and hasn’t ever worked) so I can’t see what events are being played on a particular day. Not only that, but the scheduler page has a date picker which allows you to select the month and year which is ridiculous since the olympics only go for a month. It’s just a really amateur UI that I would expect to see from a high school student

The app looks great and there is masses of information on it but:
- info seems to be very slow to update
- all of the video/news links I’ve clicked on come up with ‘oops something went wrong please retry’
- it’s really difficult to work out the times as 24hour clock isn’t used and subsequently I can’t work out what time zone it is actually in!

Didn’t work for long
Managed to load up my sports preferences which went okay. Left the app and can’t now get back onto it

Too basic
The medal table isn’t updating quick enough, you can only choose one country to get updated on. However, I’m not getting any notifications, despite having notifications switched on. Little to no information about each Athlete, can follow your fave Athletes to see when they are competing and how they are doing. You can’t get any further information when you click on an item in the schedule. Needs some serious work & FAST!

How was this approved for use?
The app under-delivers spectacularly. The links are not working or non-existent, not sure if that’s by accident or design. For example, viewing the schedules I can see that the Men’s Single Sculls Heat 1 has already finished but when I select it, no results are shown? Why, where are the results? If viewing the country page, there are interesting country facts like the flagbearer, or the anthem and it’s composer etc. But there is no mention of the athletes on that page? You have to go back from the country pages to find the athletes page and then start filtering. So much simpler if there is a direct link from the country page. It is IMPOSSIBLE to view which athletes are competing in which heats, and equally, to see the results after the events. There is no option to “favourite” events so that it’s easy to find the ones you really want to watch. Considering there has been an extra year to get ready for this event, it’s astounding that the app is so incredibly bad. For an event on the global stage, whoever approved this app for use should be ashamed.

But what have we won?
Mainly a good app, but would be massively improved by being able to tap on the country in the Medals table and get a list of which events the medals have been won for. And then tap on the event in that list to get access to reports and videos.

Schedule not showing anything
I am from the UK and downloaded the app specifically for seeing the schedule and it’s the only thing that isn’t working. Not showing anything, for any day, it’s blank. Everything else about the app is good but for my purpose I would have given it 0/5. Had too download the team gb app to see the schedule. Fix the schedule and it’ll be a 5* app

Tokyo 2020 - App review
Excellent. Lots of info. Great for scheduling. Easy access to check on favourites. As another review said, it would be great if we could set it for our specific country time zones as it can get confusing. I’d also like to watch live from within the app. Besides that it’s super.4/5
Edit: Please fix the scheduling as it appears to now be broken. It was working previously. 3/5

Great app with regards to overall information. Absolutely needs an option to change the Tim one. Also scrolling through schedule is too sensitive going from day to day.

Good but could’ve been better
I’m a bit disappointed to see that it’s a step back from the app developed for the 2016 edition in Rio. With everything going on at the moment I don’t want to be too harsh, and the organisers and volunteers are doing their best. It would have been great if we had been able to filter the events by country and set reminders for the events. The design is a bit underwhelming as well. Overall, it’s not a bad app, but there is room for improvement.

Multi $bn spent and $0 spent on the app experience 😕
What an absolute let down this app is. You can only choose 8 sports you’re interested in. I have tried filtering the schedule by dates…doesn’t work. Why does Apple not jump in on these key events and and pro actively help the dev/designers and give suggestions as to the best IX/UI? Disappointed. The only good thing was the sign up which was seamless and exceptionally fast hence giving it 2 and not 1 star.

Needs a time zone changer.
This app would be perfect if it meant you could view the schedule in your time zone. I am in Mexico and I think I am 14 hours behind so it gets extremely confusing especially with when it early morning or late at night as it comes up on a different day.

Bugs on “Notices”
Tried to check “all notices” but coding on page is screwy… just reads “other notices” then “label. Label. Label. Label”. needs a look. Also, on the “let the games begin” notice (accessed as a link under the notice re positive covid cases” there is a separate section for each athlete to watch EXCEPT for GBs Adam Peaty, whose profile is included under the header for Caeleb Dressel of the USA, and GBs Laura and Jason Kenny, who are listed together despite the text saying they are “both record breakers in their own right”!! The headlines a bit lower also have some scripting problems and read “” etc. ALSO (unrelated to other comments) - agree with other poster re it being useful to reflect local time for scheduling of events so we can more easily watch. And would be great if there was some way of bookmarking or tagging favourite events/bouts so as not to miss particular athletes or events/heats. ALSO how does the “favourites “ function work? I expected to be able to access details of when and what would be taking place for each sport. But that section of the app is not populated. Is it a results-only section?

Wrong year !
I do like the app, however the icon Tokyo 2020 never happened, it’s Tokyo 2021, (which actually breaks data protection legislation in the UK as it’s incorrect data), how hard would it be to change the year ?

Very Disappointing
Poorly set out and missing key information e.g. section on the opening ceremony offers date and time, but only gives the date of the ceremony. Unable to find the starting line ups for the football!
Live events are not covered! How can you get something so wrong when you have years to produce it … deleted the app!

Schedule
Can’t get the schedule to show up? I know the games technically don’t start till Fri but the option to changes the date to say Sunday & look ahead (to plan my viewing) didn’t seem to be working. When I click on the date & change it nothing happens.

Separate app for iPad please
App is excellent in terms of the information it presents but surely an organisation with the status and prestige of the IOC can offer an app that provides a worthwhile experience for iPad users. iPad app is the iPhone app without any modifications and can only be viewed in portrait orientation. This is virtually useless for me as my iPad is housed on a magic keyboard 90% of the time.
Please provide a specific iPad version that can be viewed in landscape orientation or I’ll have to be getting my Olympics information elsewhere.

Update broken
Latest update seems to have completely broken the schedule. There's nothing there now which is the reason I wanted the app. I hope it gets fixed before the start of the games next week!
Also option to show when the events are in different time zones would be helpful

Add option to change time zone
It’s got everything you need but everything is in JST (understandable), but an option to change the time zone would be very helpful.
