Problems.
First off it would only accept plug in headphones, after fiddling around it accepted Bluetooth but it was very noisy. The colour used for the app makes it very hard to read. Deleting!

Dangerous
The app recommend and automatically set the volume of my headphone to maximum volume. But in my headphone the maximum volume is too much and could be dangerous to by hearing. I don't recommend this app.

It’s pretty impressive, but not perfect....
I lost a hearing aid, so tried this to watch tv while it was being repaired. It was a real help. My hearing aids are much better. But they cost almost £4,000. This was £1.79 for a week’s trial. Very impressed for the money.

Grim
I remember why I deleted this app the first time round, total shot to work out how to set it up. When I tried listening to the TV there was a lag in sound and they all sounded like they were under water. Sound turned itself up and down and there was little clarity in the speech couldn’t understand anything that was being said. No idea how anyone can say it’s wonderful, it really isn’t. Very amateurish and not usable.

Great app with no sound delay
First hearing app I’ve found that has a hardly perceptible sound delay allowing listening with only one earbud while natural unamplified sound in the other. Next I need to tell this with blue tooth ear buds.

Brilliant!
As a hearing aid user since 1981 I am pleased to recommend Petrolex. Being able to create profiles is marvellous. Background noise can be eliminated and the sensitivity is incredible.

Using for noise hypersensitivity
I use this in lectures with my phone at the front and noise cancelling headphones sitting at the back. It allows me to get rid of all the tiny sounds around me and focus only on the teacher. I cried when I got through my first lecture without crippling anxiety from tiny sounds. I would have paid a good amount of money for this as it's allowed me to stay in my classes for the whole time. Thank you for such an amazing free app!

Life changing
After a sudden severe hearing loss this app transformed my world. It works incredibly well and I found nothing comparable. It's worth playing around with the settings to optimise it for your particular needs.

Use it at gigs!
This is great for a personal volume control at gigs where it's just too loud. Sound quality is very good and there's no lag. Good job.

Awful
The sound quality was bearable, but you only have to stroke the earphone cable with your finger and you blow your head off. I had to sit perfectly still when watching TV or put up with clicks, scrapes and bangs.

This has made such a difference.I use it mainly for tv.It,s great to be able to hear clearly what people are saying.I have no issues regarding latency.I would highly recommend this to anyone experiencing hearing problems.

Helps hear the TV
I'm starting to lose my hearing and probably need a professional hearing aid but using this is a very cheap first step. I find it particularly useful when watching TV and can now understand what they are saying. I use it with small ear buds plugged into iPhone or iPad.

I understand about latency but it should be my choose to make whether AirPods will work for what I need them to do.
Sent a support message in app to devs two weeks ago. Still no response. They don't care probably because it's a free app and they've moved onto something that suits their capitalist greed better.

This is just amazing, for a while I have struggled to make out the dialogue when watching TV.
With this app, it is crystal clear.
It re-enforces my view that the hearing aid industry massively overcharges customers.

Won't work with Bluetooth
I had my Bluetooth headphones connected but this app didn't recognise that and kept asking me to plug them in wired.

Bring app into 21st century?
I have blutooth headphones. The app doesn't recognise them. It wants me to plug wired ones in!!! Wanted to use it alongside Spotify so I can hear people talking to me while playing music (my headphones are very sound proof!). Deleting this app now as it can't help me

Excellent and clear
My mum is 94 and has not been able to hear with s normal hearing aid clearly for a long time and we tried this. It's much clearer and she is very pleased. Especially in a room full of noise because she can push it nearer the person talking. Thank you.

Wow !
Thank goodness someone has had the foresight to think outside the box and utilise superior existing hardware. I have a serious level of hearing loss and have worn AIDS for over 10 years and have found it impossible to communicate in noisy situations. It's early days but I am very optimistic that my problem has been solved by the better quality amplification of this app. Hearing aid companies should be very , very worried - and its high time the NHS had a look at this.

Perfect little app
I have temporary hearing loss due to congested sinusitis caused by a virus. It could take weeks to clear. Indeed I've had it before and it lasted 3 months! This condition is really depressing particularly because my job relies on me chairing meetings and talking with people throughout the day.. So, I thought I'd see if there was a hearing aid app and low and behold! This is quite simple to use and is easily adjustable. It works really well and has meant I can get back to work and carry on a normal life. Though you do have to remind people that you're not listening to music and are actually engaging with them. What a lifesaver this app is.
