If you don’t have an account with us yet, you can apply via the app if:
• You’re at least 18 years old
• You’re a UK resident
• You’re a sole trader or director of the business
• Your business has an annual turnover of £25m or less
If you have a limited company:
• It must have been registered with Companies House for at least four days
• The Companies House register must not have changed in the past four days
• It must have an ‘active’ status on the Companies House register

Unreliable!

I do not like using apps,especially when they are unreliable. The only use I have for this one is checking my balance, and it is useful to be able to transfer money quickly.
However, when there is a problem, either with the app not working properly, or a transaction I want to query, the app is useless, it is extremely difficult to contact a real human being and Lloyds have now taken away our local branch, nit that it was much use in its final couple of years.
Lloyds Bank have forgotten about looking after their loyal customers and are now solely about greed. I now have to make a 16 mile round trip to speak to someone about my account, and when I do, the staff are often rude and dismissive because I make it clear that I do NOT want all of my banking to be online, and I do not want to pay my money into a machine! They DO make mistakes and I DO NOT trust them! I am not a technophobe either. I am a digital sound engineer who spends most of his life working on computers, so I KNOW EXACTLY how UNSAFE it is to rely solely on computer systems because even the best machines and software DO make mistakes and lose important data!
This is why I will be closing my Lloyds accounts and going elsewhere as soon as I can.

App is ok, problems with password (known fault not fixed). Online has problem which was told multiple times (when asked if you’ve double checked details, you select yes and it suggests it’s a scam). Also changed payments page, this loads up previous payee, very clunky, takes longer to make simple payments.

Charity account charges

When the charity account charges were first proposed there was very little detail. We then had some information that indicated that cash transactions in branch would be free. Nearly all our income is cash. However, the cash transactions are not free there is a 42p levy on every £100 paid into our account, £10 this month. We are a small charity, I did not realise your directors are so hard up.

Still can’t deposit cheques!

No real problems with most of the functionality of this app, but a major frustration is my continued inability to scan and deposit cheques – for some reason this option simply shows up as viewing deposited cheques! No one in the branch or in the support team seems to understand why this is, but as it has been logged with the IT team, I hope that it is being sorted in the next update.

No push notifications

In a world where push notifications are on every App why can’t this app have it
Been with Lloyds from day one of my business 17 years ago but am moving banks because the notifications is such a fundamental part of my business knowing when my customers pay invoices without me having to log in to my app ten times a day if not more

As a banking app it’s fairly standard, security seems good. Big issue is the app doesn’t offer notifications so when a payment is received I often go for several days before I know a payment was received, especially if paid early. A bigger business might not want constant notifications, but a small business like myself it can be crucial to know immediately when funds are received.

I’ve been using it for the last year. It won’t let me on more often than it will. It’s incredibly frustrating with either the error message ‘we’re having difficulty at this time please try later’ or just sticks on authentication page. It really makes running my business so much more difficult when I don’t have reliable access to my money. I am constantly switching my phone on and off / removing and redownloading the app just to get access and it’s enough to make me move to a different bank

Having issues with mobile cheque deposits since upgrade

I really like the new app, but despite using the same phone, being sat at the same desk, in the same lighting conditions I’m having problems with the mobile cheque uploads facility. I keep getting the error message saying low light, and it does not recognise the edges of the cheque, despite being on a dark background.
I used this feature on a regular basis on the old app without any issues.

Retrograde update

Before the upgrade you could make fast transfers to bank accounts that belonged to you without having to put password in every time. Now the update has removed the transfer option and you have to do it as a payment putting in password data each time.

Please add push notifications to Business App

Please add push notifications on the IOS app notifying every time when money is payed in or send out from the business account.
I was waiting for this feature for a long time and hoped this will be finally introduced in the new Llyods Business Banking app came out couple days ago. It is disappointing that this feature has still not been added yet even people were asking for it since a long time.
Please look to the banking apps like Monzo and Starling Bank. It is a very handy feature for small business owner to get notified every-time I get receive payments.

More functionality needed for 2nd person approvals

Really great to be able to access business account via app. However I would like to request a couple of features which would enhance usability of the app more:
My payments have to be approved by a second person and so when I make a payment I get an onscreen message saying they need to be approved but then there is no record of the transaction request and I’m having to record separately to track my payments. It would be helpful to see these as listed in the app as pending approval transactions.
Currently for the person doing payment approvals, they have to log into the desktop version to do this. It would be very helpful to be able to do payment approvals from the app

Not as good as most - needs improvement

This is app is fine for most banking tasks. However the functionality for payments is not as good as Starling amongst others.
A user cannot set up multiple payments to the same account. This is infuriating as I often what to schedule a number of payments of different amounts each month. I have to use Starling to do this instead and transfer the money across in a big batch. One of the only banks to not have this functionality I think.
It’s also not possible to amend a scheduled payment once set up using the app. You have to use the desktop site. Again, this is really annoying. No one uses a desktop banking site.
All in all it’s ok for most day to day functions but does need important improvements.

Worst banking experience ever

This is more a review of the service and a warning not to use this bank for business purposes. ⚠️
I have been trying to remove a ex-partner from the mandate for the last 2 months. I have been told by different teams to send different forms to resolve the situation. Customer complaints teams have closed the case twice before resolving the issue. The ex-partner still has access to our account even after we were promised multiple times that they were removed. Raising this issue with the financial ombudsman.
The app is basic. The splash screen is ugly and hasn’t been updated in 4 years. 👎

Needs to include transaction search functionality

The app is okay. There is a massive requirement to include the functionality to be able to search transactions using a search bar. At the moment if you want to look for a particular transaction you either have to go through each transaction manually or log on via a computer. It’s very painful especially if you don’t actually own a computer. It’s a simple piece of functionality that most other banking apps provide flawlessly.
Other than this other features are okay. Glad they added the functionality to pay someone new on the app.

It would be nice if in future you could add the Pay m service for business account users. Many other main banks have this feature for business accounts included in even the basic business account types Lloyds does not… shame.

Never works and has affected my credit!

I am getting really annoyed with Lloyds now. This is the second time their shoddy online banking has caused me to miss payments!! The app and online banking are out of order today!! Get it together because you’re quick to penalise your customers!!!
The app never works. It is constantly experiencing technical difficulties. I can’t transfer money from my holding account into my main business account and have also missed my first government payment for my covid loan! I am on the road working all week and need access to my accounts to ensure that my main business account is always topped up. If this continues, I will be moving to another bank.

Can’t add new recipient

Really annoying you can’t add new recipients. The whole point of a mobile app is convenience. The fact I have to log in on a desktop webpage (which is slower than the app) go through the 2 step verification (which is slower than Face ID) then use the clunky card reader twice to finally be able to add a new recipient is extremely annoying. They managed to add this on the Halifax app which is almost identical to the Lloyds app. No reason they can’t add this on the Lloyds app (they’re part of the same banking group)

For business app can have more features

I recently tried log in on desktop as I needed statement for my accounts and becaus of IP changed it said unconfirmed device I needed to confirm by pinsentry tool. Due to covid I didn’t used much my card and forgot a PIN. I could still use my app tho, but at this point I couldn’t sendstatement csv through mobile app anyway, why this isn’t available? I can only view transactions but not send them, useless at this pount and got to wait anyway for new PIN anyway. Another thing why there is no sms confirmation when using unconfirmed devices, who takes everywhere this pinsentry tool? Please improve this app

It just about works! No contactless payment!

Well I have to say I’m really disappointed in the lack of features this app has. It’s really just a view onto your account and a load of disappointments.
First of, pay and transfer. It says pay someone or add a new payee. Well you can pay an existing payer that you add through the desktop version but you can’t actually add a new payee via the app. This is a huge issue for me and stops this being a mobile banking app in its tracks.
Second, click the ? Icon to get some support. There is nothing there but a call and speak to someone message. So I did, a lady answered after 5 minutes of it ringing only to tell me I’ve come through to the wrong department? Seriously! This is supposed to be one of the big four banks!
Third, it doesn’t support contactless payments, so you can’t use your business account to make the daily small payments you need.
Really not impressed and might as well not bother if I have to use the website to get things done - which still requires that annoying little calculator to be with you all the time.
Developers, go sign up for a Monzo account and see how a proper banking app should work!

Good app, but has an obscure reference no. on all transactions

The up itself is okay but on every transaction listed, the app only displays an obscure numeric reference number (which I’m guessing is the bank to bank transaction reference), rather than the carefully chosen reference that my client (the payee) has specifically chosen
For example, if I am paid some money John Smith, and John Smith chooses to reference the name of the project for the work that I did for him, the Lloyds banking app leaves this off and substitutes it for their own strange, ten-character-long, numeric reference. It's useless to me and to John Smith.
What's more is that, if you tap on the transaction, the app displays further information, and there is a whole load of blank space available to put both references on the carefully chosen reference by John Smith and the useless alphanumeric banking reference.
Please, Lloyds, give us the reference that the humans refer to, not your computer references.

Does the job, proper iPad support needed

I use both this app and the Natwest business app. This does the job fine and is well laid out giving all the required functionality and information if you are using it on the iPhone. Where the Natwest app has the edge is a revised interface for use on the iPad. This app, when used on the iPad, is just the iPhone interface which is very ugly and only works in portrait mode. Please look at updating the app to work better on the iPad. When this is done it will have the Natwest app beat, but until then it falls slightly behind.
Update: Much better now we have proper iPad support and Touch ID. I rarely use my MacBook these days as I do 90% of my work on my iPad Pro. In order for me to do most of my banking on the app I still need a few more features added, though. Multiple payments, add new payees and the ability to search transactions by date range and keywords would be fantastic. The option to then export the search or statement to PDF would be even better. Are there any plans to introduce any of these features in the future?

I don’t like this new update at all.
With the previous one you can easily see all the transaction. Now you have the balance staring at you taking half the screen why?
Before you can check where a payment comes from and its reference by pressing on the transaction, now this has been taken out why?

Okay needs updating

The app is okay! There needs to be a refresh button, I take payments all day everyday and I am having to close and reopen even if it was pull down to load new pays up. Also DESPERATELY needs finger print ID bit lacking with the times everything has this option now. Also needs a search feature on the app to looks for certain pays. I have NatWest accounts and their app is leaps and bounds ahead. Take note Lloyd’s, good starting platform just need to update like everyone else.

Multiple problems

The Lloyds Business Banking app is just a representation of how little Lloyds care about there business customers.
The app works on my iPhone 8 Plus but for some reason it crashes on my iPhone XS Max as I enter my login credentials. Not sure what’s happening there and no idea how to report it. Even after reinstalling the app and restoring my phone same problem just have to assume the app hasn’t been updated to support the iPhone XS Max as it doesn’t even utilise the full screen as the personal banking app does.
Another problem is that the app doesn’t utilise the features of the iPhone such as Touch ID and Face ID. The personal banking has the feature of unlocking the app with Face ID and Touch ID but not the business banking.
Just a poor effort compared to other banks with mobile business banking. Now I don’t even have access to my mobile banking which means I have to go to the bank to check my finances pretty pointless having an app then. Any help would be much appreciated.

Lloyds Business app

This has changed the entire concept of business banking for me. I have both personal and business accounts. There is no need to go to a branch any longer and the regular (sometimes daily) trip to the local branch is no longer necessary which, in one way, is sad (our bank managers are now just computers) but in other ways so convenien as We do our banking from our office now. Only question I have is why biometric is not available for business accounts, only personal accounts? A security issue perhaps ? Allen Van Halle

App crashes since I upgraded my phone.

I have used this app for years, no problems! I upgraded my phone from SE to 8. My lloyds personal app works fine, but the business app crashes upon entering the password!! I contacted lloyds who fobbed me off, said they knew there was a problem and they were working on it... to then receive a letter saying sorry we disagree that its our fault... telling me to contact apple, which i then did, apple ran me through a list of things to do, including a factory re store, lots of other things, but to no avail!! Consequently telling me i need to contact the app producers! That being lloyds bank!! So i now have to re contact lloyds AGAIN!! All this hassle i feel to change to another bank!! Absolutely disgusted at being pushed from pillar to post!!

Fast and easy to use anywhere

I use my internet banking quite frequently and i find it very easy to use. I send money to my daughters accounts in seconds. I have made lots of purchases in no time at all. Lloyds seems to have it just right for customers of all ages. Security is the big question on everyones lips. But how much security is considered to be enough. Well done Lloyds for getting it just right !!!

Could b better

Not very good. Little bit to many passwords and can’t set up account payee from phone. Also biggest fault is when you do go over drawn it puts a very small negative sign next to your balance. Why is this not bigger. And your balance in red. It’s shows in money and out money in green and blue. Just find it hard to use for a mobile banking app. Barclays account app is much better. Also it always hard to log on.

Update needed

I’ve had this lloyds business bank app for years and they were good at keeping it updated. Since the iPhone X has been out they haven’t updated this app once. Its been nearly 11 months. When you start the app it doesn’t fill the large screen. It’s more suitable for the iPhone 6. So many updates have come out over the past year and this app needs some work because it keeps crashing. They need to make it stable again.

Poor response on iPhone 5s or iPad Air

I can not get this app to work neither on my mobile nor on my iPad despite being up to date with the latest operating systems. I have spent several hours trying to puzzle out the fault as well as speaking to the Lloyds internet ‘experts.’ Still with no luck. After authenticating the devices and putting in the login and password information the screen goes black and the app shuts down, returning to the app interface. Absolutely useless. This is especially annoying since the Personal Business app works perfectly. Judging by the variable reviews, clearly Lloyd’s needs to get the business side sorted pronto.

Sorry excuse for a business banking app

I don't like to leave negative reviews for the sake of it but this app really frustrates me. I am forced to use it nearly daily and it very nearly pushes me to switch business bank accounts to another bank.
When all of my other business applications offer simple everyday features for free, but my business bank account (which I'm charged for, by the way) doesn't - I feel quite cheated.
This app has had over a year to adopt iphone X resolution and several years to adopt touch or face ID. Still no sign of either of these on the horizon. Let alone cutting edge technologies like incorporating debit cards with Apple Wallet through the app or advances from ATMs when a card isn't available.
I had the pleasure of seeing a colleges' Natwest app and HSBC app. Both offering slicker, well crafted apps in both personal and business fields.
If it weren't so complicated to move banks, I would - based purely on the lack of features and updates on their business banking apps. It's really embarrassing to say I back with Lloyds.
What is even more frustrating is to see these basic features in the Lloyds personal banking app - showing it is possible if they'd just be a bit bothered.
Really disappointed. Stop spending money on slow motion adverts of horses running on beaches and start investing in the business customers you supposedly support.

Functional app getting there Slowly

At last Face ID is available to logon which is a bonus but why can you still not set up new payees via the app
Mobile access is probably used by a great number of clients daily but still you have to use a desk top to set up a new payments - yet you can set one up on a personal account???
Contactless cards and Apple Pay are still unavailable Which is a poor let down business customers want the same functionalities as personal customer

Crashes on setup

I have used the app on other devices and it is a reasonable attempt at a banking app but others are better. However, after upgrading to the iPhone XS Max the app will not even let me log in! It crashes every time, even after restarts and anything else I can think of. Even worse is trying to find any support for it. This is near impossible to find, anywhere! I am hoping that Lloyd’s might read this and at least help me out....

HSBC App

This app has changed my life (where banking is concerned anyway!) No more carrying around secure keys only to find you don’t have it with you when you need to generate a payment. If I had to criticise anything the paying in of cheques by scanning didn’t work for me for some reason so I still had to visit my branch but I’ve only tried it once and other than that I’ve had no issues.

Lacking in so many key areas

Ok, unlikely anyone will take note of this constructive feedback but here goes.
1) Use Face ID/Touch ID!!! What is this 2012? It’s not a difficult feature to enable and you’re the ONLY financial app I have that’s not doing this.
2) Allow me to paste into the password field. That omission actually makes the app LESS secure as it forces people to use easy to remember passwords if they can’t paste a 20 digit random password from a password manager.
3) when entering a password, change the case of the letters so you can easily tell if you’re entering in uppercase or lowercase mode
Please take note of these three VERY easy to implement features.

Worst banking app. Unable to register app on iPhone Xs Max.

If I could give a minus rating, this “business banking app” would earn it. Have reported a crashing issue with the app on iPhone Xs Max and all they do is send you a link to download the same app from the App Store (as if you don’t know where to download it from in the first place)!
This is supposed to be a business app and used as such, the bank certainly doesn’t care about its Customers as the application is not regularly updated like other banks and it lacks functionality like a proper app and not just a webpage to the internet!
Customer service is the most appalling you would ever come across as when you call to report an issue, you are kept on hold for over 30mins and when they eventually pick up, you are cut off after a minute so you go through the process all over again!
App has not been updated in over 8 months and counting!!! None of the recent phones are even supported!
What a disappointment for such a big name!!!
They don’t want to see negative reviews so it’s removed so others don’t know what’s happening. Shame!!!

Great app, though needs Touch/Face ID

A great app which is head and shoulders above most banking apps I’ve used (anyone who has used both this and HSBC’s business banking app will appreciate the staggering difference!)
Transaction history is brilliant, ease of use is great – though I’m at a loss as to why Lloyds appears to have a policy that ‘ease of use’ features, such as Touch ID/Face ID (plus contactless transactions and Apple Pay capability) is not wanted by those with Business Banking apps.
These feature are all available on Lloyds Personal accounts – why the reluctance to introduce such features to business banking, too (in fact, only a few years ago you had to use your card reader to even login to business banking)?
Wanting extra security for business banking is fine, but the lack of these features lets the side down in a 2018 world – the lack of Apple Pay (also, the app hasn’t been updated yet for the new iPhone X screen size; plus the iPhone XS/XS Max/XR are now out so if Lloyds are on the ball, this should be coming along soon).
Overall though, if you don’t mind the extra faff of not having the same level of usability with your cards, the app itself is still great.

It works and is serviceable but...

This is an ok banking app.
If you’ve used others, it’s not as good as Barclays or Nationwide, but better than Halifax.
You can make payments to existing payees, but can’t setup new ones.
You can log in and see all your transactions per month.
So, it’s all so so from here.
The things bat nee improving:
1) fingerprint log in needs adding. You have to enter three chapters or numbers from your memorable information every time you open the app. So, can you quickly recall letter or number 11 of you large info, neither can I.
2) The keyboard provided to enter your password does NOT show the difference between CAPITAL and lower case letters. You password must have upper and lower letters, yet every time you make a payment, your return left guessing if you got it right.
2.1) Also the password field will not allow copy and paste.
I had to drastically simplify my password because of these two points.

Not a bad app but definitely could be improved.

I sort of agree with a previous review with regards to the app having the finger print ID, but as to NatWests app being smoother and slicker I couldn’t disagree more. I have both business accounts as I have a couple of business’s and
one majorly irritating thing for me with NatWests and others is that you cannot change the payment reference on the app unless your payment is under £250. (The worst business app surprisingly is the HSBC, which actually prompted to change bank accounts as it was so poor).
Lloyds does facilitate this and for me this is a big plus as I am always on the go and sometimes need to make last minute changes to the reference for things such as PO numbers or different invoice numbers.
I never have any problems logging in and the app always seems work quite smoothly.

Fantastic

Using the Mobile App has made it a lot easier to do Business Banking.
Could improve by adding finger print login or security features. Need to be able to amend suppliers details without having to delete and add all the details again. It’s such a bind, time consuming and cannot be done from the app but by logging onto the website.

Why bother with half a solution ?

Cheques can be paid in via the app and will clear in two days! Well that’s what they told me in my branch. What they failed to say is the cheque limit is £500 per cheque and £1000 per day. So if you have a cheque for £501 then off you go back to your branch to pay it in and then wait 7 days for it to clear where as if your cheque was for £499 you could pay it in using the app and it might clear in two days. Do I really have to ask my customers to give me 3 separate cheques for an invoice of £1001 and then pay these in over 2 separate days to insure they will clear in 2-3days ??? What kind of a solution is that? It sounds as if the bank just wants to keep your money for as long possible as usual before clearing payments.

UPGRADE AND MAKE IT AS GOOD AS THE PERSONAL BANKING USERS

The app itself is okay. It is easy to use and you can pay recipients that you need to set up with the card reader on the Computer website, so you need to set up recipents on online banking on your computer first. You have upgraded the Personal Banking app, which now looks like a more professional banking app, now you should upgrade the business banking app, because as an iPhone 7 user this app has awful resolution and doesn’t look professional at all. Also it is a bit confusional as the interface is overzoomed.

Why update this app when a far better iPad version is already provided to personal accounts.
Are those giving 5 stars Lloyds employees or have only just started using a smart phone.
5 years ago this was good but come on give us business customers an app as good as personal account users get. This iPhone app is not fit for iPads or any big screen phones of today.
Password entry 2nd rate due to a poor app enforced keyboard that does not clearly show the case, transaction details are truncated amongst the many issues. It was useful and quick on the iPhone years ago but not any more.
I have increased the rating as you have fixed the former bug with the menu and it is functional if not great. Come on Lloyds issue a new iPad version to business users.

On the iPad there is only one orientation option and it is not as easy to use as the online version. I have not yet managed to load a new beneficiary as I can’t find the load a beneficiary option in the menu selection! So have to load that on online business first? I will persevere and revisit all the menus on this app to see how and where I missed it as surely I managed to overlook it.

Excellent functionality

Decent app although, unlike the personal banking app, the business banking app does not allow login via fingerprint recognition in iOS. Maybe there's a security principle which precludes this but once you get used to fingerprint input, typing memorable info feels very frictional experience.
Despite recent updates, still experiencing login issues from time to time. Requires quitting both personal and business apps, and when that doesn’t work a device restart is required.

Needs password manager support

I have a long complex password that is far too difficult to remember but safari/ios keychain stores that for me. I used to be able to cut and paste this but the app now blocks this meaning I have to either use a pc for payments which does allows this or write this down which does strip back the convenience of the app. Can’t see why the devs don't just get the password field recognisable by ios so that the keychain can fill it in. I’m already logging in by touch id seems unnecessary to confirm by password.

Getting there

There seems to be a copy/paste bug in the business Lloyds app - the latest version does not allow this at all (rendering it unusable for those who rely on complicated passwords held in password managers). The previous version allowed copy/paste (albeit with the necessity to add an extra character before enabling confirmation) but this has been removed.
I would like to see this resolved and Touch ID integration finally arriving to Lloyds banking apps.
Update: One year on and still the copy/paste functionality is missing. Also it has been 12 months since Lloyds Personal banking app received TouchID and still no update for business. I would like to see the developers address these issues either by implementing them or explaining why they are not doing so.

A good one

I manage a number of different bank accounts with a range of bankers. This is the best App of the lot in my experience. Always room for further improvement as with most things. Having the ability to authorise as 2nd signatory even though I am not a personal customer of Lloyd’s would be a major step forward.

Worst banking app

It’s one of the worst apps I’ve used!!!
I’m user of personal app for Lloyds, Barclays (business as well) and Nationwide and this one is by far the worst!
For example I can’t set up new payments on it ( I have to use computer) or when you are making payments to existing payees and want to change ref I can’t see what I’m writing as the pop up keyboard overlaps what I’m writing?????!
