The iOS App does not work
Unfortunately the iOS app does not work. It connects if you turn On Demand off and use IPSec however nothing works. Safari won't load any website and no apps can connect to the Internet. The desktop app for Windows works and I would give that 3/5 though it also sometimes has issues.

Poor implementation
Servers only work intermittently and most uk and us servers often non-responsive and when you do connect, the connection only holds for about 10 mins before you are automatically disconnected. Requires password and username without connection to apple keychain. Very lazy programming considering the very high price. I regret this purchase and would recommend you use an alternative!

Not very proactive in changing server addresses
All UK servers appear to be blocked by the BBC at the moment and have been for several weeks. Given that accessing the BBC while on overseas trips is a major use of vpns, the company need to be more responsive in changing IP addresses once they become blocked.

Just won’t happen
One day I had a perfectly working VPN from this company. When the time came to renew, I paid and downloaded the app since when the VPN does not work. My old L2TP connection worked fine but there is no option for this protocol with the new app and description screens on the help pages do not tally with what one actually sees. I’ve wasted enough time with this now. I wish that companies would update all of the relevant pages before pushing out new apps.

I’ve used this VPN on several occasions to stream shows and go on betting websites while out of the country.

No Connection
Ever since the last few updates I’ve had no VPN it states connected but you cannot even connect to a standard website let alone a blocked one. The new diagnostic tool shows the system trying to connect you to every server at once no wonder it’s not working.

I travel a lot ... and so often I travel to zones where some apps I use to contact my family back home are blocked ... but with StrongVPN, I keep it running all the time therefore I do not loose any quality video calls with my family wherever I am ... at least in the countries I travel to... although it’s worth mentioning that I use my UK mobile provider data roaming number to connect to mobile broadband networks... and sometimes I use a local data provider through hotspot to my phone “As I carry two phones “ .... well done and keep the good work

Terrible customer service
Don’t respond to queries. Live chat logs you out. Password reset doesn’t work. Refusal for a refund when service stops working and they hide behind 30 day guarantee which is a joke. Basically hold you hostage and don’t need to do anything after 30 days.

Good with room to grow
Good app with relatively fast VPN speeds.
Two points of irritation:
1. Forgetting credentials
The app will dump your saved login info if there is a network issue. This most often happens at startup, especially if your connection is flaky. TouchID would be great (yes, I know FaceID is the new hotness... Oh, wait - I'll need to switch to the backup phone to make it work 😉)
2. Stability when the phone screen is off
When the phone is on and you are using it, the VPN seems to be pretty stable. If you have the VPN up for a download overnight, it will sometimes die and not reconnect even through the WiFi connection is solid.
