Very pleased with Lightroom mobile, great features for a mobile app. It would be good to see more features being introduced (I think a faster way to link the rate/reject and edit modules together would be a good place to start, I actually prefer the older version rather than having to use filter. Maybe some gestures within the edit module that can reject all rate and colour code from there. This would speed up my professional workflow, when using mobile. Also improving sync from multiple devices, I seem to have problems quite often. Keep up the great work adobe! Leaps and bounds better than, Rush. Obviously one is photos and the other video, but I hope they put some time into improving this and continue upgrading Lightroom & Photoshop. Essentially, everything that we can do on a desktop, we would like to do on mobile too! 🔥

Editing in landscape and synchronising

Version 9.0
In someways the app is great. But why did the update remove editing in landscape on the mobile. A really poor decision which really impacts use.
Additionally, the synchronisation of mobile to classic is far from perfect. Quite often on classic, sync issues occur with metadata issues which is a cause of frustration. Edits on mobile don’t run on Lightroom blocking up the sync queue. And once in classic, the only way to deal with this is to click each sync issue (and often there are many) to manually say update metadata. There’s no way of filtering these issues on classic.
Please sort this lot out adobe and return landscape editing.

I love this app, and they keep updating it and making it even better every so often too! I love that I can make my own preset and save them and do edits so much easier. And the attention to detail you can do on this app. Like just selecting the sky or person you wish to focus on. Defiantly recommend trying it out. And they have alot of tutorials on it as well if you are lost or wondering what you can do with lightroom!

I’ve subscribed to LR mobile for some time but one of the reasons I wanted to use it was for organising my 18k of images. An essential element of this organising was to be able to edit or adjust location information that was not present in the original images. Unfortunately although Apple photos has this facility my paid-for subscription to LR mobile doesn’t do this. I notice from the community forums location editing has been requested several years ago, but nothing has happened. I’m seriously giving up hope of this feature ever being included so may revert to using the HashPhotos app which has loads of features including location editing. What a shame Adobe cannot meet or exceed features in some other photo apps that appear to offer far more for a lot less!

Lightroom Mobile is an excellent app that I couldn’t do without. Can make brilliant edits quickly on your device. Masking tools are especially excellent. If anyone from Lightroom reads this, it’s so disappointing to see the in-app tutorials have been removed! Really NOT the same without these. The tutorials really encourage people to get more out of the product - therefore building a stronger and more loyal customer base, so it’s an enormous oversight to remove them!

Version 9.0
After it has been updated, the rendering process to import/save the edited raw file takes so much longer than before, one photo I edited has been rendering for 2 minutes until I decided to cancel but keeps on happening when I try saving it again. Need an urgent fix to this as would not be able to edit piles of my photos waiting in the gallery with this current issue. I am using iphone 12 pro so i do not think it would be a device performance issue, just to let you know. Please fix the issue as soon as possible. Many thanks.

Version 8.5.1
I replaced Lightroom desktop with the mobile version a long time ago and I never looked back. I found love for the app when lockdown had lifted and I never wanted to go back home. I would spend countless hours travelling, just me, my dog, my camera and my iPad. I would travel across the UK to find landscapes to photograph. I would spend nights under the stars. Climb incredible mountains and meet wonderful people, all the while, documenting everything with my camera.
After I was done with my latest shoot, I would retreat back to my car and stop off somewhere to grab a coffee and some food while editing the images I had just taken. The mobile version gives you incredible freedom to keep you hobby cost low and the results high.

I’ve been using Adobe software for the better part of 25 years. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not perfect. In fact, sometimes their software and their practices are downright infuriating. But I’ve never found a competitor I prefer (or can even put up with for photography).
Adding such a functional product on my phone just cements their position in my workflow. I’ll keep paying the subscription because, while it’s a little steep for a hobbyist, I can’t find anything better.
I suppose that’s a pretty good compliment. I want to find a competitor, but I really can’t.

Version 8.4.1
In the past month or so they’ve clearly rolled out a major change to the UI. This has been my app for photo editing for Instagram for literal *years* as being able to copy photo settings is so incredibly handy. Using it after the update is so incredibly cumbersome I’ll have to find a different app. I don’t understand why they’ve made a difference between your photos and imported photos, meaning you can’t start doing bulk edits even after importing them and not being able to swipe through photos as you edit, adding so many extra taps. Such a shame as this has been a five star app for me for years.

Great app, but the recent update has just made it worse…

Version 8.4.0
I love Lightroom, great app, I use it for all my pictures. But recently it’s gotten harder, and more confusing to add photos. Instead of just going to the new images button, selecting my photos and editing them. Now I have to manually go through each picture on the ‘Photos’ side (now separate from my edits) and then adding them manually. This process takes unnecessarily long, just for some editing that takes only a few minutes. If and devs see this Please could you guys either change this or guide me with some help or advice

Version 8.4.0
The app was perfect! Now I struggle to edit on the go! As a photographer, I use this app a lot. I have a vast number of photographs on this app, and am struggling to find the ones I add. It keeps bringing me back to the first photographs I have uploaded and it has always did this, but now with the fixed scroll bar, I cannot click and scroll to my most recent uploaded photos. It takes a long time to scroll to my most recent uploaded images and for on the move editing, this isn’t handy

New Update Not Great

Great app, but hate the update. Miss being able to upload the pictures you want to edit into one place. Have to copy/paste my settings from a previously edited picture and then scroll through my picture albums to find the picture I want to edit. Was easier when we could upload the pictures into Lightroom before editing. Find the update a bit confusing to navigate the app now too

Version 8.3.1
Overall it’s an excellent bit of software. I use it as my travel solution on an iPad which does highlight a few gaps. No keyword syncing being a big one or being able to use an external drive directly. Having to export all the time is a pain. Also not being able to export a catalog along with the keyword sync issue means no workaround either.

Version 8.1.1
I wish Lightroom mobile was updated so that you can use ‘Camera Calibration’ and also the option to slowly adjust the tone curve, as it’s difficult on the iPhone to be precise with the tone curve. I would also love to see the masking option be able to recognise more features like it does on desktop. Besides that Lightroom replaces all my others apps as it’s an all-in-one editor that leaves me with the best results.

Powerful editor but expensive and cumbersome too

 –
seismography
 –
2023-01-18
Version 8.1.1
It’s the best serious photo editing app for mobile, especially for RAW images which it handles like a dream, but there are some major downsides too:
1) The built-in camera functionality is really terrible - painfully slow to open, fiddly to use, with tiny inscrutable icons. You’ll probably want to buy a third-party alternative such as Halide.
2) It doesn’t integrate directly with the iCloud Photo Library, so requires importing and exporting to move photos between the Lightroom library and iCloud library. This quickly becomes laborious to keep track of. It’s probably not a pain point for professional power users who use Lightroom exclusively, but it’s a headache for casual users.
3) Subscriptions are expensive and the pricing model is deliberately complex in order to upsell the full Creative Cloud package. It’s hard to understand which subscription offers the best value and storage.

I was excited to try out video editing on the app; I even paid for the premium subscription in order to do so. However it is SO disappointing. Only basic things can be edited, no colour grading. Premium presets can’t even be adjusted. It’s just one tap that’s it. Worst of all, you can’t copy or paste settings, let alone make a preset out of your edits. This means if you want use the same edits on multiple videos.. you’ll basically have to do it manually on each video. Joke’s on me !!

Don’t like this update

Version 7.2.1
I had to reinstall Lightroom on my iPhone (13 Pro Max) and upon starting it up and going through the processes I can no long edit a photo without having to import it in to Lightroom first 🤷‍♂️ Am I missing something here? I want to edit the picture then export it and cancel the changes or if I want to keep them hit the tick in the top right. Why can’t I do this now?
Edit - Clarification:
I was able to just tap the icon next to the camera icon (or the centre of the screen if no image was saved in Lightroom) and select an image and it would load directly into the editor mode. If I hit < to back out it would ask me to discard changes if I had made any or it would let me pick a new image to edit.
If I made edits and I wanted to save it to Lightroom I could tap the tick in the top right of the screen and it would be saved into “all photos”
Since reinstalling the app this behaviour not long happens, I would like it back as I don’t see the need to have multiple copies of my images when I only need a quick edit and export. (Then method I have been using for I don’t know how long, saves 3 steps. Import, edit, delete)

Confusingly amazing??? 🤩

Version 4.0.0
I adore this app and as a video editor for my thumbnails and more, the features are great and I do not have many complaints about the features etc. The main issues for me I think is it make my iPhone crash sometimes and I do understand about the app it is amazing( don’t get me wrong 😉) and also, I would hopefully like some features that premium users can normally create videos and edit pics- is to at least make some things free. Some of the tools are premium and worth it but it’s just too much too handle. Thanks for your time, amazing app have a nice day. 👌 😊.

I have a suggestion for the Lightroom app, can you add an adjustment lock feature? For example, let's say I want to lock the exposure at +1 and then I want to add a preset on the photo, but the preset includes a +3 adjustment, so this way I can apply a preset without changing the adjustment that I locked and in the preset browser I can view the small thumbnail with how the photo will look like if I apply the preset on the photo with that locked adjustment. I think it's a useful small feature

Saving DNG files issues!

Version 4.4.1
Hi after editing a raw file taken from my iPhone 13 Pro Max, the image looks clear until you expert it to the camera roll into a DNG file. Once you export it the image looks blurry, the file size on this particular file was 39mb. So just to check it was a bug I then exported the same image as a JPEG, the image was 10x clearer even though the JPEG file size was 2.4mb.
Could you please look into this issue and come up with a possible fix please? It’s making me not want to use the app.
Thanks!

Love the app itself, been using it for years, I mostly just edit phone shots with it but in the last few weeks (possibly since iOS 15) my phone starts literally burning when using the app. My phone switched off and showed a message something like it needs to cool down before starting it again. It happened few times now. When I close the app, the phone slowly starts returning to a normal temperature. Not sure if it’s just my phone, I’m using iPhone 12 Pro Max. But the app itself is very good, would give 5 stars if it wasn’t for the issue

Multiple problems with Lightroom that doesn’t seem anyone from the Adobe team is willing to fix anytime soon. 1. Taking ages to download the original file from Adobe cloud.( it happens since ios 14) 2 the most annoying thing ever is that the app is not optimised for iOS anymore and it manages to heat up the phone very bad. I can’t believe that the phone is that old and that is not capable on editing raw files, especially when i did that since forever with it. Lightroom is for now my favorite app for iphone and iPad and is lagging on both devices. The ipad is the new ipad air with A14. I would ask you to fix it but the last time i asked that from you, you told me to reinstall the app as if i didn’t think of that.

I really do love using this app and have been a paying member for a good amount of time now. Unfortunately the latest update has provided us (me) with a couple of bugs. No longer can I hold down on a radial filter and bring up the menu to duplicate it. I also have an issue when typing keywords (tags) that being: the keyboard disappears during typing. It’s very frustrating when you have a project of 8000 odd photos to do 🥴 Please fix these Adobe and spare me this frustration 😬🙏🏻 thanks.

Wow! I’m not sure how Adobe can take such a great app and ruin it with an update, but somehow they’ve managed it! Maybe they’re trying to match it with the crashiness of Premiere Pro!?? 😂
This app used to work great for colour grading photos with particularly useful tools like the ability to control the hue, saturation and lightness of individual colours. However with the latest update even doing something as simple as cropping a JPEG will cause a crash. I don’t come across that many apps that actually crash these days on iOS, most seem pretty stable so it’s surprising a company the size of Adobe with all of their resources can take a perfectly good, well-functioning app, add pretty much no new features but at the same time make it continually crash instead. Well done Adobe, pat yourselves on the back! 😂

**This latest install seems to have a bug where I open the app and my photo library does not load up. You kill the app and then it opens fine. This is effecting my iPhone 11 Pro and the new iPhone 12 Pro. Also on my iPad Pro.
Great app for photo editing and management. The camera app is wonderful too. Would be nice if you could set the exposure lock to a setting and it stayed there after the app closed. Maybe one day.

Lightroom is a broken program

Honestly I want to give this app a 0 star rating. This app has some great features which really help for editing on the go but unfortunately it is broken.
I have lost so many projects because of this apps stupidity. I just spent 1.5 hrs editing a photo and I locked my phone to go do something, when I came back all the work was gone because it did not back up onto the cloud.
The cloud feature on the app ruins everything, give me the options to store all files on my device atleast. The app automatically started uploading my entire Libary of photos off my phone to the cloud which was very annoying to figure out how to switch off, rather have it switched off automatically with the option to enable cloud backup later.
The fact that the files I am working on are on the cloud and not on my device irritates me because often it won’t save or and then you loose all your work. Maybe add a feature similar to google documents with its “every time you hit space bar it saves the document” maybe every 2nd or 3rd adjustment it saves the file again?
I’m very disappointed in this app as it have good potential but the save system is broken. Please give me the option to have files saved on my device rather than to the cloud only.

Expected better

Update 1—3stars. Thanks for your prompt dev response 🙂
I think the main issue in this app is there’s too many options. Options are buried in tabs and you even have 3D Touch options on top! And then where’s the undo button?
This Lightroom is very powerful – cool! – but for mobile it can be challenging hence the rating. I use Darkroom regularly (sorry) but I also pay for CC, started in PsCamera as I saw it was new then tried Photoshop Mix, PsExpress and finally Lightroom to see if I could select and invert in an instant.
(And yes had to separately log in for each one. UX across apps could be improved)
Scenario
I just want to invert part of a logo, on the fly. I hoped for something lightweight and quick.
_How can I do this?_

In terms of its capability as a photo editor I can’t fault it. I use LR Classic on desktop for photo editing and in development mode it’s basically the same. I haven’t had a chance to explore much else with it atm. My complaints are that moving the sliders with fingers can be inaccurate when pulling away from the screen. I’d like a way to increase/decrease by point in the same way that arrow keys can be used on desktop version - maybe this exists and I haven’t found it yet though, I’m used to a long learning curve with any new adobe product. Also, I feel like a bit of a mug that I pay for photo editing suite from adobe yet this is free. I use iCloud Drive to store my photos from SD, so I could literally do all my editing work on this free version from my iPhone.

I have been using lightroom for years and have now transferred my editing to my iPad using Lightroom CC. There is one huge feature missing for me however, the ability to have a white background behind the image. When posting for Instagram or most networks/websites, the background is white. Hence editing in a black background (which is all that is currently available) is not ideal and doesn’t make much sense. Please update this! Oh and manual vignette correction would be cool too :)

My subscription is active and confirmed in my account on the App Store. However I’m locked out of Lightroom and can’t do anything with my photos. I’ve done the usual restarting the app and the phone. Unfortunately the app simply won’t accept that my subscription is active. The support from Adobe is shocking. The support page advertises chat with real people, except when I click on it all all there is is irrelevant simplistic information and no possibility to get any actual human support via any mechanism. Considering I am paying for the subscription and not able to access the product or any support I am really appalled. Mostly I’m upset because I need access to my photos and to edit, sync and share them and Adobe has locked me out.

It’s obviously the best photo editing app. But for what you pay and the number of frustrating issues it’s worth 1 star. You can clear the cache but you can’t clear the “locally stored copies” of which it has decided to store 25GB worth. It’s meant to sync to the cloud? But even though I’ve got a high speed internet connection, it’s showing me that it’s syncing 212 photos to the cloud and has been for days... the only way to get rid of this is to delete the app and reinstall it. Which I did, and I lost all my photos, probably because they hadn’t synced to the cloud in the literal week that I left it to sync... so so frustrating

Lightroom is by far the best app of its kind, but for some reason it messes with the brightness of my screen. Every time I am editing the exposure, highlights or whites on a photo, all of the sudden it brings it the brightness of my screen down to a ridiculous extent and I cant fix it because it doesn't alter my brightness slider. It only goes back to normal after 5-10 min. It’s terribly annoying and it ONLY happens when working on Lightroom

This is an amazing app for most things. I chose the ipad pro over a MacBook to make photo editing more portable but i regret doing this. There are still lots of feature on the iOS version that are missing and one big one is photo merging. I understand this takes a lot of processing power and could take a long time for an ipad to render very large photos but this is something i depended on a lot. There are many other simple things that make it more difficult to do work but apart from those bits.... it is a brilliant app for most needs.

I’ve never liked Lr on desktop but as I’ve gradually moved over to almost 100% iPadPro I’ve no real choice but to use Lr for the iPad at this moment.
To say I’m shocked by the lack of export options is an understatement, there are basically 2... Files or Camera Roll and only JPEG. Add to that no option to rename files means if you create a custom layout, on export Lr just pumps them out in the order of the original file names. So if you shoot with 2 bodies things get messy very quickly.
All in all this app is a badly thought out gesture rather than what it should have been. It’s simply not useful at all if you shoot professionally and I doubt it’s much real use if you don’t shoot professionally.

Let down by common sense.

There needs to be a thorough rethink in lots of areas of this app. For a start don’t advertise a new feature (lightroom now added to shortcuts) if it doesn’t work! I’ve tried to make a shortcut on both my iPhone and my iPad Pro; each time greeted with: ‘could not run import to Lightroom. An unknown error occurred’.
I use shortcuts regularly so I’m confident in my own handling of it.
Another thing which boggles my mind out of all sense is inability to export DNG to a lossless format from the app. If I want a png or tiff I have to do it on my desktop and airdrop it to my iPad. It’s totally retarded. This needs to change entirely before photoshop is released (if ever) as NO ONE will be prepared to spend hours editing a lossy jpg on their iPad photoshop when they could be doing lossless on desktop.
If I had to characterise the faults of Adobe with one sentence it would have to be: too slow to adapt. You need to seriously realise people are moving to mobile platforms; my 2018 iPad Pro has power that is going wasted because companies like this are dragging their heels and maintaining a desktop only environment.
I hope when photoshop is released these issues have been resolved, I hope this won’t be a token app with no thought behind it, after all affinity photo is pretty much perfect right now, so adobe won’t be able to coast on this.

... I really wish I could just buy the app outright instead of paying a monthly subscription. Also there’s one major thing missing that is available in the desktop version - being able to draw a straight line in selective edits!!! May not sound like much but it’s annoying as hell! Even when my iPhone/iPad is attached to a keyboard holding the shift key shortcut won’t constrain it. I think this would be simple to implement on the app. PLEASE ADOBE, ADD THIS FEATURE!!!

I love Lightroom Mobile. When I can't get to my desktop PC I can do everything I can do on my PC including RAW edits and upload in the same quality as I can on my PC. I'd recommend this to any photographer with Wifi built into their camera as editing on the move has never been easier! I can just pop down to my local park. Take a few pictures and edit them with a nice cuppa in the park cafe. I love it!

I have a love/hate relationship with Adobe. They love to take my money and I hate using their software. However, like a lot of people, I have so many years invested in it that it’s a real pain to switch. The pain began with all the CC monthly subscription stuff - and I get it, I really do, but what I don’t get is the ever increasing bloat of Adobe software. Now I have to run an Adobe “management” app, which insists on sitting in my dock, mocking me for being too weak to finally switch to Capture One. The whole Adobe CC ecosystem just really gets on my nerves - and I’m writing this review now because I thought “I’m paying for CC, I might as well have a look at the mobile app”. I’d like to sync my presets, but I can’t do that unless I sync some photos. I don’t want to do that - oh wait, now it’s saying my catalog is corrupted and it has to be repaired. It’s just so over complex it makes me want to scream. Adobe, I want a divorce - you can keep the house.

I’m having problems when exporting the images they show up in the wrong order in my “moments”. I believe is because of the timezone i am when i save them to camera roll: it happened that i’ve exported a pic while being in italy and then exported the same pic again by mistake while being in the uk and those pics show up at an hour apart... it’s getting really messy and it’s driving me mad :-)
Love the app otherwise, never had this problem before, it must be a recent bug or something changed in Photos, i don’t know

There’s too much to say about this app and its computer version - excellent in so many ways.. I couldn’t do without it.
I reluctantly removed a star for one very important reason: the inability to create virtual copies on the iPhone; this is something that is necessary to making edits on your phone as I feel crippled by the inability to do anything at all to the photos, as I don’t want to ruin already crafted pictures by possibly making wrong decisions on the phone, due to colour rendering on the phone not being ideal.
Being able to make copies would allow experimentation and work to be done on the go without fear and then make fuller edits on a computer with a calibrated screen later.
Adobe is a remarkable software house, with excellent apps that have been important to us for many years and usually listen to us, but this really does let the whole concept of the app down and makes it unusable, to a certain extent. Other upgrade features are simply interesting - not really as necessary as copy abilities.
5 stars and full recommendations would be forthcoming with this important feature otherwise.

Be warned. You do not want to use this app for taking photos.
While the idea of using the app to take raw DNG photos is appealing be aware these photos are then trapped within Lightroom with no easy or quick way to export them.
You’d think plugging in the phone and starting Lightroom on your laptop would let you import them but no, the only way to get them from your phone to the laptop is to upload them to the adobe cloud and then download them again. Except this is dreadfully slow even with a good internet link and when using hotel Wi-Fi you can absolutely just forget it entirely. Your photos are locked away and good luck getting them out of Lightroom mobile except by exporting as jpeg to your camera roll pretty much one but one.
Use any other product that takes raw photos on the iPhone and stores to your camera roll and Lightroom will import them without problems. Just forget LR mobile. It’s a disaster.

Even without being connected to an adobe account, this app is fantastic with many little features.
Having the connection to my adobe account enables me to have remote access to the pictures on my computer that I have imported into Lightroom. This makes it much easier to then upload them to my business Instagram.
I gave it a 4 star rating, as the only thing that is missing is the ability to use my own presets like on the desktop version, rather than just having the standard Lightroom presets.

Had some issues with a prepaid account and the new lightroom CC app which took 5 hours on with adobe support to fix, but once sorted the storage issues went away and things started working properly.
As for the app itself, it’s still missing a few key features I used a lot from the full app like photo stitching and HDRs but other than those, features, it can do pretty much everything else the desktop app could do (I don’t use the in-app printing module). I did like looking at my photos on a map but I’m sure they can add that back in over time if enough people request it.
Overall I’m pleased with the experience and being able to jump on my phone, tablet, laptop and desktop and do some editing/rating is a god send for my workflow.

I never get excited when desktop apps are made mobile so was reluctant to try this one. But it is pretty special. A great re work of a great application.
My only gripe - I’d like the option to write only to the camera roll. So I can export from lightroom and not import every photo I take with my mobile. Most of my mobile shots are just for fun and not what I want clogging up my more “serious” library of photos.

Lightroom mobile is wonderful if like me you wish to have available all your photographs when you’re out and about. It’s true that the mobile photographs are of lower resolution than those stored on your hard drive. However the resolution is very acceptable, you can perform simple editing and the whole system locks together very well and is easy to use. I find the system perfectly fits my needs. I was a reluctant migrant from apples aperture, but find with the forced move I have found a very happy home indeed.

Honestly, the app is great and has revolutionised the way I edit my raw images, to the point where I can take advantage of the odd spare 10 mins on the train to work through some editing.
However... It really grinds my gears when developers remove useful features without warning. In this case, the Creamtone preset has vanished from the latest version. This was one of my most-used functions and has really frustrated my workflow. Please just stop it. Think of your customers before making changes like this (and please bring Creamtone back!)
