I wish there was a bookmark option like in the Audible app. With some stories over 2 hours, it's often not possible to listen all at once. Plus if I fall asleep while listening in bed...

Crashes A LOT
we own about 400 titles. Scrolling through first few it always freezes up and crashes. Starting to really get on my nerves now.

Invaluable
Without this app, life would be unbearable! Seriously I use it constantly.... On the train, at night, at work etc to listen to my many Big Finish audios! It’s so easy to use!

Doctor Who! ... And Blake's7... And ...
Big Finish have been producing Doctor Who audio plays for nearly 20 years
These are the original actors playing Doctors 4 through 11 , sadly minus 10. Not everyone is a winner but there's a lot of good stuff here. Doctor 8 only got the TV movie and the Night of the Doctor mini episode but here Paul McGann shines and brings to life a Doctor we barely knew.
But it's not just Dr Who. They've resurrected a lot of old cult TV.
For me, the Blake's 7 stuff is one of the highlights but they've done good work with sapphire and steel, survivors, the prisoner and many more. Recently they've turned their attention to the mid 80s show Star Cops and the visual effects have never looked better 😉
The app works well. Sadly, no in app purchase but that's understandable given Apple policy. Fortunately the website is excellent and a great way to explore the ranger of material available there's usually a freebie or two on their site and regular sales of the older parts of their catalogue. The first 100 dr who stories are currently only £2.99 each.

Could be Awesome!
It’s a great app to keep your releases in one place. But it is limited to just that. Would be nice to be able to purchase directly from the app or for extras this way too, e.g. live interview streaming and/or podcast downloads, to create more of a community atmosphere amongst aficionados; I’d also wish BF would update their website, as I don’t find it very user-friendly.

Great app with a small caveat
Great little app the works really well. 2 improvements that I think could be made:
1) Be able to authenticate the cds you have bought from Big Finish so that you can download. (I appreciate that this is more an issue for Big Finish directly)
2) Add Apple CarPlay integration like audible and other book readers / podcast players to facilitate listening in the car

This is a fantastic app for listening to all the great Big Finish products. The layout and design are really well done. My only question is why it calls itself ‘Big Finish App’ rather than just ‘Big Finish’ like every other app in the App Store! We know it’s an app ......!

Listen in the car
I downloaded the app hoping to be able to listen to my collection in the car. It’s not compatible with apple CarPlay and because the audio books can only be played via the app it’s not possible to listen to them.

The title of the review says it all. Big Finish as a company produce some incredible audio dramas which have kept me entertained for years now. The app is brilliant and very easy to use. I’ve never had a problem with and it has never crashed. It’s a huge improvement on the previous model of download a few years back. Long live Big Finish!

Does what it says on the tin
Life-saver of an app. Ignore the old reviews: they’ve updated the app and it works almost seamlessly. A quick off and on again resolves any issues when they, rarely, occur.

Slow to download and unable to resume where it left off
The quality of downloaded audio is excellent. However downloading is somewhat frustrating as it's slow, even over gigabit broadband. Much more frustrating though is that should a download be stopped or cut off part way through, it doesn't resume where it left off, meaning that over mobile data it ended up downloading three times the size of the eventual file.
If they could fix these annoyances it would be a 5 star app.

Latest update is a significant UI improvement. The interface feels more solid, reliable, and looks great.

Massive Improvement
In it's earlier stages, this app had many faults but now the app has a better layout and the design is very professional. Lots of bugs fixed. Only things I wish for in the future is a Store browse and User Wishlist. Also Phone notifications for when deals occur on the site would be amazing. Great work Big Finish!

The only way worth listening to BF
Review title says it all. Forget faffing around with playlists and iTunes. With this functional app you can simply search for, download and listen to Big Finish audio downloads you have bought direct from their website.

Well done and accessible app
It's great to finally be able to access my audio books directly onto my iPod, and I've been listening to various Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes stories with ease. The menu system is very fluid, although it does lose one star for being prone to exiting the app abruptly when trying to access it the first time you log in, especially when you have a large number of releases on your device, but otherwise it's great.

Downloading up date systems
I have recently purchased 7 audio books and it's staking a long time for them to download I am still waiting 4 downloading after 2 days of purchasing this will be the 3 day, I've paid good money for these audiobooks and I can't even listen to them I should be allowed to listen to them immediately after purchasing them, you should not have to download them at all you should be allowed to go into the app and listen to them, also when they are downloaded I can only get half the audiobook, I would have loved this served if the audiobook had downloaded and I was able to get my money's worth but sadly because I'm still waiting for 4 downloads after 2 days and now on to the 3rd day I'm not very pleased and also not happy when they are to download and only getting half to listen to I give this 2 stars this should be updated and we should not have to download our punches, we would get them as soon as we pay for them.

The Big Finish Audiobook Player goes from strength to strength with this latest update. More reliable than ever, this latest upgrade retained both my log in and previously downloaded audio dramas.
The details tab is much improved, with story synopsis and cast available straight from the app. No need to go to the website anymore to read about your latest download... Unless it’s to check out the latest releases!

Convenient, if leaky
This solves a lot of my issues with audiobooks scattered throughout my desktop hard drive, just so they can be installed on my iPod. However, it does have a tendency to lose track and not actually delete books when it claims it has. As these tracks are considered deleted while the data remains, I've had to reinstall the app several times to avoid it completely devouring my memory.

Great app - adding Car Play support would be perfect
I make frequent use of this app now as it is so much easier than downloading and manually copying new releases onto my mobile device. I do most of my listening while mobile, so it is great that I can listen to them with no need to connect to my PC at home.
The only improvement I would suggest would be to add support for Apple Car Play. As it stands I can listen to my audiobooks from my car, but other audiobook apps I have allow me to select audiobooks from the car rather than pulling over and launching them from the phone itself.

Good app. One key request.
This works well as a sort of Audible-Lite player for Big Finish audiobooks (mainly Doctor Who related).
The major lack is a Sleep timer. I keep falling asleep while listening ... while the story continues to the bitter end. I then struggle to find where I had got to.
